If these dual wielding a flashlight and a sidearm cannot be implemented, then maybe make it so when you "remove" a flashlight from your toolbelt your sidearm temporarily goes in its place? It really doesn't make sense to have to put your sidearm in your backpack to pull out your flashlight now does it? After all I envision you have a loop for the flashlight on your belt, and a holster for your pistol. There is no reason you could not holster your sidearm while holding a flashlight in your hand. And when you take out your sidearm, you put your flashlight back in it's loop or whatever. Right now it's a real pain to mess with your backpack, especially when you risk losing ammo/weapon to the void, and also have to have the 5 slots in there.

Also, the Czech backpack really limits your vision when glancing over your shoulder while the ALICE does not. Not saying that anyone would swap inventory space for vision, but at the moment it is kinda silly. Not an issue really but it WOULD be really easy to change between the two...

No way. The campers have huge loads of food/drinks in their inventory and their camps around the north. Just think about it, if you have ~4 of both drinks and edible goods, you can camp the place for what seems like an eternity, since you aren't moving a lot.

Only one thing to say. HELLS TO THE YES!!!!

So I have an idea for a new use for morphine. Morphine is a pain reliever, right? So why not make it do exactly that, and not heal broken bones. Taking morphine when you are low on blood would remove the jittery aiming you get at extremely low blood, and also re-saturate the colors that you lose due to low blood. This effect could last for say, an hour or so. This would also mean more effects from low blood could be implemented, as you could fend them off with morphine, say, the aiming issues could begin at a higher blood level. The idea of a wooden splinter as a fix for broken bones that has been thrown around would leave morphine open for this sort of role. Damn, you could even impose a running speed penalty for people with splinters and that movement speed is restorable to normal via the use of morphine. Any thoughts on this?

Sounds awesome, you could get the name of the bandit+the general area where they were last at, i.e. "Windy Mountain". You would only get this information at certain time points. And to ensure players aren't marked as bandits too easily, only bandits with a lot of kills, say over 5, would be listed. Let's face it, if you kill more than five ppl, you most likely didn't do all of them purely in self defence.

Oh come on people, leave the boars for the last thing to be fixed -.- I'd much rather see the real gameplay issues fixed and content that Rocket sees fit to add to be implemented before making sure the BOARS in the game act realistically... What I think that means is that some zombies see better than others' date=' so zombie A might not spot you at 50m, but zombie B (in the exact same situation) may come running for you at 50m. Making things less predictable. [/quote'] It was explained in a different post by Rocket I think. Pretty sure it means that when you are in zed's line of sight, getting closer to them exponentially increases the chances of being spotted. So if you have high visibility zeds can spot you from farther away than they can currently, but with a low chance. That chance increases as you get closer to them.

I found a toolbox but was unable to remove barbed wire, even when I was aiming at the steel poles (as is instructed on the wiki). Only after I found a wire fencing kit in addition to the toolbox was I able to take them down. I have already made a thread about this problem and I completely agree, they need to be removed completely or maybe reset the wiring every time a server is restarted. These serve no purpose whatsoever as people are only blocking major loot spots with them and leaving the wiring there, no doubt to cover their asses as they server hop. Anyone whining about how they need it for their bases: tough luck. If enough assholes exploit something like this then it needs to be removed imo.

haha :D just go to a server with ch and 3dp off. It's way more fun when it's more realistic anyway :P

Well from my point of view... 15-30 seconds would be enough.... no one would risk to disconnect in front of someone... And there is smaller risk to be spotted and killet in this period If you go to a truly safe place to actually disconnect, chances are that somebody stumbles upon you are EXTREMELY low. Sure we might get one case every now and again, but think about how much good it would do! No more d/c to avoid death, no more d/c to flank someone, no more server hopping for more loot in high risk places...something from 1-5 minutes would be very much okay in my opinion. 15-30 seconds isn't really long enough to prevent server hopping, and is too short to remove disconnecting to avoid death, as the other side might not get a visual again in that short of a time.

It's a great idea, was gonna make a thread myself. I don't agree with all of your ideas, but I think the general idea is very good. At the moment getting high level gear is a death mission most of the time, so being able to REALLY hunt and scavenge for this stuff all round the map would be a great addition to the game and give a new sense of mission instead of just "head NW". I really like the military crate idea, they could contain loot to about the same level as barracks currently hold, i.e. a fancy weapon, ammo and maybe some gear. I would also love to see something added to your average residential housing to keep you checking them out even after you have your ALICE pack, compass, matches and enough food and drinks. Maybe add a very small chance of spawning a dead soldier with a barracks-tier weapon next to him and some ammo/gear on his corpse? These would of course be very rare but I think it would work, and it even keeps finding military-grade stuff inside a common house realistic as some poor soldier has made his last stand there :D As for the deer stands, personally I think they are fine as they are now, but if some of these new military-gear features are added, then they could maybe be downgraded, especially if more civilian weapons options are added. But the biggest focus should definitely be scattering around military gear spawns, maybe Rocket could even add more static, small military bases around the map to reduce camping efficiency.

Had enough of getting killed right after finding some good gear (mainly at the NW airport). Decided to go rambo at Balota, killed countless zombies with lee enfield and even with a frag grenade inside a hall when dodging zombies! Raided the deer stands for AK and G17 and started making my way towards Cherno. I have never killed anyone in this game but this time I would be ruthless. I would become the king of Cherno. And then a zombie aggroed, chased me and after making a stand, his friends broke my leg. I fell unconcious as one last zombie is eating my flesh. I wake up just in time to cap his ass and bandage myself up, was left with 187 blood. But I wasn't giving up on my dream. I haul my ass over towards Cherno, falling unconcious every now and again and getting VERY thirsty. It has gotten very dark, and just as I reach the outskirts of town, I reach severe dehydration. For whatever reason my blood hasn't started to drop though, and I reach the store just in time to find a heavenly Cola in a pile of rubble. I proceed to crawl my way through Cherno, my mission to make it to the military tents and find some morphine, maybe a box of matches and heal myself with meat as I'm not about to trust anyone with a blood transfusion. I make my way to a diner and just as I crawl behind the counter, I gently stab my rib at the doorway and fall dead. Fuck.

toolboxes are not that hard to find, comon people! We need this stuff to make our own bases and shit, I know it sucks that some people are being dicks and trolling / griefing with it, but like I said toolboxes are not that hard to find at all, I found 6 last night in cherno alone. And I see barbed wire as being for keeping people / players out, not zombies, zombies walk right through the stuff anyways, much like they walk through walls and doors. it is kinda the point of a base, to keep your friends and yourself safe, and keep other players you don't know, especially hostiles / bandits out. If toolboxes are so easy to find, what does it matter for your base making then? Attackers can just dismantle the barbed wire with said easy-to-find toolbox. I say make it step-overable.

I wonder if it would be possible to make it so that when you disconnect, your character stays where you were for, say 2 minutes, completely defenseless. This would prevent the kind of scenarios you just described as well as disconnecting to avoid death. After all, when you disconnect to actually leave the game you get yourself in a safe spot so it shouldn't be a problem for normal disconnecting.

So I've come across this problem a couple of times now where I've found wiring inside major loot buildings, like the fire station in Elektro. I take it some other survivors have placed these and they completely block off your way to the loot. Unless you have the tools to remove it (good luck having them with a new character) there is no way past it. I don't know if it's common or not, but I feel like it's a real dick move and shouldn't be possible, i.e. make it so you can't place wiring inside buildings/to block off an entrance. Just thought I'd bring this up in case it proves helpful. Love the mod, cheers!

Thoughts on this? I can easily do this. HOWEVER. There may be a small performance impact from it. EDIT: Actually' date=' it would keep spamming your position. Would have a major performance impact. I could probably write something on this later. But for now, might not be possible. [/quote'] It would be a huge improvement and a realistic feature, but I feel the current system works fine too. If it's possible yes please, but should not be on the top of your priority list as I'm sure there's A LOT of other more critical stuff you are currently working on too.

Crouch running/walking audibility seems to be different when holding main weapon or the sidearm. You could crouch run on grass and have 1 audibility bar with the side arm, but 2 when holding a main weapon. Not sure whether intentional, as you do move a bit faster when running with a main weapon. I would still prefer the option of sneaking more efficiently when holding my main weapon though, in case it is silenced for example. One thing I noticed that seemed to be bugged about this was that at times I would have 0 audibility when crouch walking on grass with my main weapon in hand, when I would constantly have 1 when I held my sidearm. Nothing serious but something I felt I should report. Love the new patch, keep up the good work!

Me and three other friends are on teamspeak, scattered around Chernarus. One of my friends is running up a hill and suddenly he shouts "I FOUND A CAR!". In no time he has got the bright-red UAZ on the road and is picking us up. I come to the road between Komarovo and Balota and soon I see the car coming up on the road, with a horde of zeds chasing it. He stops and I jump inside, and the four of us head north. Never before in a game has just driving around been so much fun. We raid deer stands as we come across them, the sun is shining and spirits are high. We stop by some random village and three of us jump out while our driver lets the horn blare and drives around, attracting hordes of zeds from the village while the rest of us plunder it. A bit later our friend drives between two barns we've been looting and we jump inside, on the road again. We are quickly running out of fuel and go around looking for a place to refill our Jerry cans. Soon we find one and right when we are ready to go, a server restart is coming. We all log out and with anticipation wait for the server to come back online again. Everyone jumps in and we get on the road, towards northwest. As a sign of things to come, lightning flashes across the horizon and thunder blares, as the afternoon is getting darker. We drive along a sand road at about 30 km/h and I say "Wanna bet someone is gonna shoot us soon?", drawing a few laughs and notions of "Don't jinx it, bro". And a minute later, gunshot. The car veeres on the road and spins around 180 degrees as we lose a tire, then the windshield cracks. People are shouting "GET OUTTA THE CAR, TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!" I get out frantically and throw myself into the dirt on the side of the road and crawl towards a few bushes on a sloped, open hill. It's chaos, everyone is shouting where the hell did they shoot from, how many are there, what the hell is going on. And then the inevitable from our driver "Shit, I was hit!" Unable to stop the bleeding on his own, he falls unconscious somewhere close to the car. The rest of us are already some ways away, though I don't see either of my friends. I start to make my way towards the car and find my friend waking up, blood spurting from his neck. I make my way to my buddy and start to bandage him, getting up to do so. And like in any war movie, I don't get hit despite being completely visible. Once he has stopped bleeding we start to make our way up the slope, only for him to take a bullet some moments later. And another of my friends says he was shot, no idea where they are shooting from. So as the last two survivors we get up and make a run for better cover, zig-zagging across the field, miraculously making it. I get down on my knee and look at the place we were originally through the scope of my CZ-550. And there, a guy in a camo suit with a zombie face is aiming at our position. I'm exhausted from the battle and my aim is shaking like crazy, I take the shot. Missed, the gunshot echoes in the afternoon. The bandit takes cover and I start making my way to a better sniping position. And in the end, I carelessly get on my knee and get instantly shot, with my last friend following soon after. This was the story of the most legendary time I've ever had with this game. The story of how a jolly group of fellows was brutally slaughtered by and organized team of killing machines in camo suits. It's dangerous out there, so make the most of the time you have!
