    insanity and suicide

Seriously? What if you have to defend yourself and you end up killing multiple survivors that way? That's not even the point, it's ridiculous that your character in a video game would do something without YOU deciding to do it. Especially something this extreme. Frankly, these kinds of artificial limitations will never work and hopefully won't see the light of day in this game. See this thread for some real solutions to the "PvP problem" http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=23578

    3rd person and thermal

Agree about 3rd person, though there is always the choice to choose a server where it is turned off. Agree about the thermal too, I had the L85A2 AWS last night and it was ridiculous, it gives you too much of an edge. Rather add a choice for the weapons with NV scopes to just turn the NV-mode off so you can actually use them in the daylight too...they are completely useless on servers where the crosshair has been turned off.
  3. I checked with the thermal seconds before and no one was there. Also I didn't lose any blood, I've been sniped before and every time the blood count has gone down...now it was 12k even as the score screen or whatever it is appears on the screen when you die. Very mysterious.
  4. Oh my....I wonder if this is related to the current problems. So I finally got all the good stuff (GPS, NVG, L85A2 etc.) and everytime I logged off and back on during this day I lost something, last time I had my backpack emptied. And now I was sneaking in NE airfield in the dark after a firefight, and just suddenly, inexplicably it shows I have broken my bones, I fall down, YOU ARE DEAD. There was no gunshot, no zombie aggro, I was completely in the open field with 12k blood and I just fell down and died. Is it stable to play, can anyone tell (or is this some common bug I'm not aware of)? Not that I would care anymore after this as I have nothing to lose but... Oh well, I guess I can't complain as I was really lucky to get that stuff to begin with :)
  5. O_o well they should. This mod is beyond arma 2. But if they payed the DayZ team then they would start developing the game in a way that would sell more copies I think...I just hope that doesn't happen. I want this to be what it promises to be: a hardcore zombie apocalypse survival simulator. Meaning most of the people who have come to the game at around patch 1.7.1.5 will probably flame and rage on these forums when the game gets too hard for them to enjoy it. I WANT it to be hard, insanely so. And I hope rocket does too and won't be afraid to develop the game to be hard, even if it drives some of the current gamers away.
  6. Personally I feel like the zeds are really easy right now, it is so easy to stealth around them you practically don't need a gun. I would love to see mainly slow zombies who pick up the pace if you start to run away from them in full sight, with a couple of runners out there who can match a survivor in full flight. This would make for some interesting and horrible scenarios as you might have to shoot the runners but pull the rest of the zombies on your ass, still with a chance to run away into the forest without being caught. I have to say I'm getting bored of just always sneaking past the zeds, I want to be forced into situations where I can't avoid shooting them (which wouldn't work with the current behaviour as they are all frickin' Usain Bolt). But yeah, let's see what 1.7.2 holds as Rocket said the infected behaviour is much better in the upcoming patch.

    Make bicycles MORE common

It has 2 seats according to the wiki. And yes, definitely need more spawns, haven't seen a single one. Maybe bicycles could also reset like in 2 days time? That would mean people couldn't hoard them. Sure it might suck losing a bike you have ridden somewhere north but it's not something massive like having your car disappear on you....otherwise I fear the extra spawns will also be taken off map. (which of course should not even be possible in the first place)

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

"you can kiss my participation in this game bye bye" wow, you really think rocket (or anybody else) gives a damn? It's a mod, and in alpha no less. People qq'ing about leaving because the game doesn't suit them is ridiculous (and over something that hasn't even been released yet). There are plenty of other games out there, by all means, help yourself.
  9. It's not just about players being friendly though. Right now the game is boring when you get some supplies, since survival is a bit of a joke. Zed behaviour is another thing, but I'm sure we will be seeing changes in that either way in the upcoming patches. If you can stealth, there really is nothing else stopping you than other players in 1.7.1.5.
  10. Exactly what is needed' date=' ammo needs to be EXTREMELY RARE. At the same time you should be able to use weapons though (majority of zombies are slow so you only need to shoot the fast ones to get away, if a gunshot attracts >10 zombies you need to kill then shooting will just be completely useless). This needs to come after a complete wipeout of inventories and tents though, coupled with patches that prevent server hopping. But I like the ideas in this thread. Like them very much. Also, spreading those military spawns would be nice coupled to this, with random military crates/crashed trucks etc. Just imagine the joy of discovering something like this after an arduous journey in the wilderness and getting that M16A2 and ONE magazine for it. You feel like the king of the world ^^ [hr'] Not sure if this has been suggested yet as I'm just reading through the whole thread, but adding a chance for items to be destroyed when taking a bullet hit would be interesting. This would make bandits think twice before gunning people down for their loot as much of it might be destroyed. Also, just taking one hit and surviving, only to find out you have lost something precious....all I can say is, I would like it. I would hate it at that moment, but damn I like the idea.
  11. Awesome post OP, I want ALL of these things in-game! (except maybe for the polluted cities part). Zeds should be numerous and slower, but every 1/10 or so should still be a runner that can catch up to you.... just think about it, alerting a horde while scavenging, trying to make it out of there before you are overwhelmed, somebody helping a friend with a limp to move faster as others shoot the runners that are catching up to you.... SO FUCKING EPIC! As for will this actually reduce/solve the PvP problem? Yes. I have no problem with organized bandits, it is part of the game. I have a problem with shooting on sight because you are afraid the other guy will take your gear and vice versa. Now you actually NEED that other guy, not just his gear.

    Solo play + recovering blood

The erythrocytes (blood cells) don't divide in the plasma (in fact they don't have that capability at all as they lack a nucleus), they are created from stem cells in the bone marrow. But generally you are right, if you are in good condition then the marrow can produce blood cells faster. Overall I think blood recovering should be nerfed rather than buffed. It makes no sense you can gorge yourself on food to recover blood, there should be a limit as to how much you can eat at a time, and eating should recover blood over time instead of instantly. As for regen, I think it should be EXTREMELY slow, and would require you to stay well fed for a long period of time, i.e. if you let your hunger and thirst drop to red (not even all the way to blinking) then regen would slow down and come to a halt. This would make scavenging for supplies more interesting as you would have to eat/drink more often if you want to keep regenerating. Obviously temperature could come and play a role here too, but I think it is still some ways away from being properly implemented in the game.

    Duffle bags!

So I had an epiphany. Could we have duffle bags in the game? They would take your main weapon slot but provide additional inventory space, working basically as a second backpack. The slots it provides could vary from the type, say from 8-14. You COULD fit a primary weapon in there if you needed the few extra slots it provides, but the main use would be for item transportation/looting trips. I have a feel some people might even give up their primary altogether for this, as they might not be shot on sight so easily as they are not carrying a primary.

    Top 3 Suggestions

1.) Tougher survival (snow storms that can be life-threatening if caught in the wilderness, cooked meat spoils, zombie hordes etc.) 2.) Spread out and randomize high level loot spawns (dead soldiers spawning in houses with gear, military drop crates in the wilderness) 3. Being able to hold a flashlight and a sidearm simultaneously, but with decreased accuracy.
  16. I've been looking at a couple of different servers lately and it seems all are pretty much "shoot on sight". I was wondering if there are some specific euro servers that have a particularly good relationship when it comes to NOT shooting strangers on sight. Of course it all depends on the players and it varies from time to time, but as i said, looking for one that has a good REPUTATION. Thanks in advance ^^
  17. Teaming up already has huge benefits. You have the extra slots because you have a buddy. You have someone to watch your back. Aggressors will think twice before attacking a group or a pair. I don't like the idea of artificially buffing teamwork since it already has its benefits. Just make general survival tougher and people MAY team up. In the end of the day, this game is defined by its players. Trying to force it into some sort of form with artificial restrictions is not realistic and will not work.
  18. I'm going to say what so many others here have said: make the "end game" interesting by upping the survival difficulty throughout the game. Food is harder to come by than it is right now. Cooked meat spoils over a period of about ~a day (or even faster, seeing as the metabolism of the survivors isn't realistic either as they can die of starvation/thirst faster than is realistic). Canned food lasts forever, but this means going into towns to search for it, hence giving reasons for highly geared players to raid stores etc. Add hordes/wandering zombies etc. that have been suggested to make survival even harder. Just generally make it A LOT tougher to just stay alive.
  19. Read the last sentence. But if someone is going to a high risk place, say the NW airfield and try to disconnect near it, but find out they can't because hostiles are nearby, then they do not disconnect and magically know that other players are nearby. Granted, if there is no one there they will disconnect and it will take some time to get back, but it can still be exploited. Not sure about it, I think some better ideas with the timers have been thrown around. I guess it's just a preference how you want to get rid of this problem, main thing is SOMETHING is done about it.
  20. But this could be abused to find out whether there are other players near you by trying to disconnect...

    how bout this for bandits

Stop beating a dead horse....every possible idea regarding this has been thrown around in a million different threads. Rocket will come up with something, or he will leave it as it is.
