I don't know how to say this diplomatically. The base building feature of this game needs to be replaced with something that works. You can spend more than a week gathering resources for building your base. It is difficult to find a location that will allow you to place 3+ walls that can't be boosted over between the invader and your goodies. You can't really re-enforce the walls. Often times you can't place walls where it makes sense and the enemy can remove your barbed wire easier than you can install it. Those ladders that go through a hole in the roof.. you can't build a hatch, or floor, to cover them? You can't cover windows over wall height but they can boost through them? come on. If you attempt to bury stuff they'll use a known exploit, find it, and dig it up. So, unless you hold your loot on your character its not safe. Alternatively, I would be perfectly happy if they placed a limit on secure storage space per account (say 1000) and completely got rid of base building. We could use something like a fence kit to place the storage access area. (limit 1) It could non-intrusive/visible to other players as not to clutter the map. Just a point on the map where you can access additional storage.

I don't understand why we cant make our own structures with a roof? can't make a lockable hatch for the floor/roof, can't make a watch-tower that has walls on all 4 sides. Can't add layers of re-enforcement to our walls/gates. The entire system sucks.

You get hungry a lot more often too, I don't like that. Not because its 'hard' but because its annoying and unrealistic to have to eat every 5 or 10 minutes. I also don't like the fact the apple/bottle icons appear partly full when you are completely full. I thought those icons were a percentage expression of your level of satiation? They are messing with my ocd. lol

How it promotes realism, how it benefits us, to show who is online? Once someone knows where your base it at all this does is make it easy for them to 1. raid you when you go offline, 2. learn the hours you usually play, 3. base camp you when you are online. I, for one, would like this changed. Thanks.

an update for anyone who might have been curious: For me, the game used to show my character in all his gear when I logged on. After I selected the server it showed me one more time right before I entered the world. Now it shows a random fresh spawn. I am guessing it does this for everyone else as well? This is why I thought we had the server wipe, or my character somehow died offline.

How often has this game experienced server wipes of characters and property? I joined the official server to avoid this issue.

I was playing when the patch was pushed down. The game kicked me. I did some real world stuff. When I came back it was almost time for me to go to work. I logged in to check out the patch and I had a fresh character. I assumed we had a wipe. I was a bit disheartened and turned off the xbox. I guess he died somehow. edit- its possible I was on the other server tab. when the server list came up empty I remember flipping over to see if anything was there. I might have forgot to flip it back. I'll be home in about 4 hours and I guess I will find out then what happened, if anything, to my bases.

There is a way for people to easily locate your buried loot. I was using buried dry bags. If base building is not Dayz why did they add base building? the flag permanence feature? A problem that would seem simple to address in the current system. Allow players to determine which side the wire/lock goes on a gate. Sometimes it is difficult to place the fence kit. The only place it will allow you to put it interferes with access to the lock. This is a problem I have encountered numerous times and it makes no sense to me. It detracts from the game. Please address this issue. Something that would be nice to have a friend mentioned: The ability to paint or otherwise tag/mark walls, doors, and such. We are sharing a base and he wants to identify his room. I can see where this would be useful in numerous different applications. Maybe it would create too much lag? The ability to post notes to provide information, warnings, offers, greetings, etc, would also be nice.

omg I apologize. My base is fine. I have more than one apartment base and I could have sworn I was in a different one. They unfortunately look nearly identical besides the things I've put in them.

Thanks, I thought there might be a time too... like 0100 or something. I managed to find two locks today looting. The last thing I need is a pickaxe. I usually find them all over. I don't think people pick them up because of the weight. I have not seen any in two days. I got lost in the dark earlier, got two more mosins w/ scopes now 🙂

Hi, I play xbox on an official server. People always seem to beat me to the loot. I get lucky every once in a while, particularly if I go randomly about out of town. However, most of the time it seems like the garages/sheds have been picked over. In Cherno I struggled with finding nails. I moved to Berezino and found a lot of nails but could not find any 4 barrel padlocks. I expanded my search to the city more north/east. I found some nice stuff, gun cleaning kits, an MP5 which I later threw away lol, and lastly someone's camouflaged base in the woods which I looted for sniper rifle/night vision. BUT no locks. Is there a set schedule for garages and sheds to respawn loot? I've noticed if you leave spawned loot in there it can stay in there for a while. I've been trying to take everything out of the loot area to encourage it to spawn new stuff. Thanks

So no one knows how many times a day, or week, loot refreshes? or at what exact time? I get the feeling the people who are out-looting me know the schedule.

So I've been told, a few times. hehe. My thought on this is: We respawn there so it would be nice to have a base there for when I die. I building bases along the coast to store basic gear. I am sure a lot of others do the same.
