Is this an issue they're concerned with? I find it annoying when I log on I see a different character than my character. It used to show me my character with all his gear on. Since that last update it's screwed up.

DE 3852 almost constant gunfire ?
VodkaFish replied to MaximusDickus's topic in New Player Discussion
I had the sound of a stick snapping underfoot repeating. I had to restart the game. -
Additionally you should be able to make sticks / kindling out of planks. You should be able to use planks as firewood as well. In real life, most people don't burn planks in their fireplaces because they are chemically treated and expensive. In the game they share neither of these qualities. So, I say INTO THE FIRE! My gift to you this season 😉

I have spent my first month in this game experimenting with base building as I loot the coast. One thing I have noticed is having a lot of things loose on the floor causes lag, a lot of lag, in the immediate area. Side note: I can use this lag to spot hidden loot, players, bases. When the game takes a long time to render the surroundings in it shows players, loot, and bases, before buildings materialize. I can intentionally clutter the floor in an area and use this exploit, like xray vision, to clearly see my surroundings over a great distance. Fix please. To reduce lag created in base building we should be allowed to make woodpiles of similar items. The game has wood pallets, this is the same idea except it would apply to firewood, short sticks, long sticks, logs, and player made planks. The piles should be large, it was not uncommon for me to have more than 40 logs at one time. I am thinking in terms of 100s for each pile. Once a pile has been created it is immobile. There should be a feature, like crates have, to let us place the pile. Additionally wood does not spoil like food, it dries, it seasons. It becomes better for burning and building. Construction companies don't build with freshly cut wood. Fireplaces don't burn well with freshly cut wood. Wood piles should last at least 2 weeks, and indefinitely with a flag. Wood piles should be able to be destroyed via dousing them in an accelerant like gasoline and igniting them or adding a campfire to them and igniting the two. Having to store firewood for cooking, heating, etc, in some sort of container so it won't vanish is silly. Edit: The piles of wood would not stack on each other. Additionally, they should provide little, to no, elevation so people can not exploit them to boost over walls. Thank you.

100 grams of zucchini dehydrates to a mere 6.5 grams. http://natures-powerhouse.co.uk/dehydrating-courgettes/ Beef dehydrates between 2 and 3-1. 5 pounds will be about 1.5 pounds when dried.
-
The weight/bulk of dehydrated foods should be lowered. I have a friend who is dehydrating zucchinis for food. The dehydrated zuc's have a higher life expectancy, are worth little in terms of nutrition, and have a weight/bulk of 3 which is the same as the non-dehydrated variety. Does not seem realistic does it? A food item with most of the moisture removed would weigh less and be smaller. Thanks.

BAHAHA! If your character was an inmate before he should be able to boof a whole lot more. Inmates have boofed cells phones and chargers, multi ounce baggies of rock cocaine, those push up safety razors you can buy at the hardware store (they wrap the blade in electrical tape then break it into little pieces once its in the facility. A Riker's Island investigator showed me some vids/photos of what those tiny pieces of razors can do. scary shit. They use an MRI chair now.) Homosexuals often boof stuff for entertainment. They can get 20oz bottles up there. You might want to ask for more slots. And don't get me started on women, when they want to be they're part Kangaroo.

That's what I have trouble figuring out, the time line. Like someone pointed out there are stacks of bodies in mass graves throughout the map. I don't know how I didn't notice them before. Those bodies would not stay there for long in good condition. Where are the people who stacked those bodies? The yards don't look too over grown, recently cared for really. Most of the houses are in decent condition. Some of the vehicles look trashed to me. They look old. This includes the ships. If It was recent I could see you doing some minor work on one, or even finding one that runs. After the initial fuel and oil is gone on the island I'm not sure what we'd do as there are no game mechanics to make fuel or oil.

I'm on steam on xbox? I don't remember ever signing up for steam? I would not install a third party program. I will use whatever framework the game developers provide. I see nothing in the STEAM ONLINE CONDUCT about using poorly coded game mechanics to my advantage. That harassing/stalking bit is hilarious. People have been using the 'who's online' feature BI provides to harass and stalk me. 'Steam Online Conduct STEAM™ ONLINE CONDUCT As a Steam subscriber you agree to abide by the following conduct rules. It's not something I want to do. You know when I first started playing I came here trying to find the rules. You can look back in the forum if you want. The answer I received: There are none. -
Basic car maintenance doesn't take much in our world. Refined oil, synthetic oil, high test fuel, new filters, new spark plugs, and other supplies are readily available. We can take our cars to the shop for an engine or transmission replacement, straighten a frame, etc. The shops have computers that can give your vehicle's computer the latest updates from the factory. Vehicles that sit tend to have problems. Vehicles that have been subjected to flooding tend to have problems. What would we do if we found an abandoned car like the ones on the map and didn't have all that stuff mentioned above. We'd be walking.
-
There are a lot more problems in this game than the useless base feature. This game is broken and it lacks any meaningful support.
-
I agree that building a bunker would be quite a task under these conditions. One man building an underground shelter is more realistic than one man maintaining a helicopter, or rebuilding a car from parts. Mixing and pouring concrete has been done for centuries. Using scrap metal to make complex items with hand tools is also possible. Look at the Philippines hand made gun market. and they think they are going to ban guns in the US? LOL

Exactly, use everything the developers have made available. -
Because they only allow us to make straight garbage that is difficult to place and looks more suitable as fencing for your dog. It would be nice if we had an area where we could build some sort of structure that provided safe storage for a limited a amount of items. Say 1000 units. You could vary the amount of items protected according to the resources used to create the storage area. Limit 1 per game copy.

ya, what are the steps necessary to replicate an item? I am no longer willing to play at a disadvantage. They need to fix this game. -
Common sense has forced me to accept the fact this is a broken game with no supervision. I am now willing to achieve results through any means available. My items are safe. Players can message me with any tips/exploits they are willing to share. Thanks.

How do you dupe the items? -
I was in my base when they started raiding. I don't know how he killed me with the angle he had, I could not see him to shoot him, but ok. They hit the first gate with some sort of explosive. They used tools on the rest. I have broken into bases, it takes me about 15 minutes to get past 1 wood gate with tools. The last base I broke into (yesterday) I jumped over the walls. The guy did not do a good job of picking a location / placing the walls. I only use 4 digit locks.

I have not tested it yet. You can definitely see through trees and buildings. If you are up high in a city you see a lot of things. It is my understanding a head lamp will allow you to find buried treasure.

I am not sure if this is a suggestion, or observation, as it would make the game much easier. It is unrealistic for our survivors not to make use of the rain when it rains so often. It would be so simple. If we had to, we could wring out our wet pea coat into a pot, we could use a tarp to direct rain water into a pot/bottle/etc., we could use the down spouts on buildings. we could make a cistern at our base to function as a well. I care about realism as much as I care about difficulty in a game like this. Its a toss up. But to me, you are making the game hard at the expense of realism. Add: Since the last update I find myself drinking a LOT less. As long as I have the ability to create a garden, or access to veggies, I do not need drinking water at all. I can travel indefinitely.

and you can't see it when the screen loads in? if I make a mess on the ground around me, near a river, to give me some time.. log out.. do some stuff. come back then let it slow load in.. I'm not going to see it?

Let's talk realism: Fuel: Hind Mi-24,24,35 carry 1840 liters of fuel internally, 1227 liters in an aux tank in the cabin, and external tanks are 500 liters each. 4,067 liters with two external tanks consumed at 350-360l an hour provides 11.3 hours of use. That's 20 55gallon drums of aviation fuel. -------------------------------- Helicopter maintenance: https://www.helis.com/howflies/overhaul.php 'Most phased maintenance programs have a minor inspection due every twenty-five flight hours and a major inspection every 150.' They have parts replacement listed, in many cases, by hours of use. This schedule does not address helicopters being shot at by survivors. Small arms fire has proven very effective against helicopters. Where are we sourcing the replacement parts? the supermarket? ------------------------------- IN PEACETIME, WITH TEAMS OF PROFESSIONALS, AND THE BEST EQUIPMENT & PARTS AVAILABLE: 'During the last decade there were about 1.44 fatalities per 100,000 flight hours of non-military helicopters. If we compare that to automobiles, based on driving hours, helicopters are about 85 times less safe than cars, based on their fatality rate of about 0.017. If we take into account how much further helicopters travel per hour compared to cars, helicopters are about 27 times less safe than autos. There are many factors affecting helicopter fatality statistics. Personal helicopters, which are included in the statistics, are often operated by less experienced pilots who crash about eighteen times more often than professional pilots. Many personal helicopters are not as well maintained as those used for commercial flights. They crash at least fives times more often. ' https://www.travelersunited.org/can-helicopter-flight-seeing-tours-safe/ ------------------------- 'rotating the wing raises a host of design and operational challenges and complexities, including issues related to vibrations and wear-out of a variety of components on the helicopter. The consequence of this is that maintenance and inspection are particularly crucial for helicopters for their continued airworthiness.' 'Helicopters have a poor safety track record and little progress has been recorded in the last decade' https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0211424 ----------------------------- Metal fatigue https://www.aviation.govt.nz/assets/aircraft/2017-design-delegation-seminar/fatigue-damage-tolerance-in-airframe-structures.pdf
