yeah it definitely taught me that after i hit it big i just need to head for the hills, but as i read somewhere else...dont get attached to your gear/chr cause it wont last forever. but i cant wait to get back into it and see if i can do it again.

I have died more times in my first week of this game then im comfortable admitting. Be it bad luck, bandits, or just the plan zombie apocalypse, i could never get anything going. Maybe a pistol or crossbow 1soda/food i was having fun though. then this morning i hit the mother load m10 and a m911 in the same warehouse. after that i got 3sodas and 2 beans plus some bandages. I was on vent telling all my friends about it when i hear a player calling for help in game. i knew he had to be close and i did hear zeds lurking about. he repeated his distress call again and this time it actually sounded like he was in a panic so i make my way out to a vantage and i see a player followed by 4 zeds he has no weapon out so i see no harm in jumping to his aid. Upon telling him to circle to me on chat i take out the lead zombie then the second one then the third...and in one fucking hit the 4th zed breaks my leg. i didn't have any morphine, so at this point i kill the last zombie and the player thanks me. i give him my shotty since i wasn't sure if my friend was going to make it to me to help or not. the player laughs at me shots me in the head...i guess i learned my lesson when it comes to being a nice guy. Now after 3 spawns of getting screwed i have decided to call it a night before i smash my keyboard into the wall. all i can hope is the gaming gods look down on me favorable tomorrow for my good deed. I decided not to put the players name in this thread because its not his fault he is a tool; after all its the zombie apocalypse.

i cant get the beta to update after the first time i did it? do i have to move the file every time?

awesome ty. that is good to know...yeah the one thing a friend told me was when u spawn to just pick a direction and run and dont look back. again ty and i hope eventually i can be giving out tips to newbs like me

It only took me 4tries to get that far, but in all the time i have played(just bought it today) i have yet to find one gun or extra bandages. any suggestoins for a new guy...or just keep chopping with my axe till i get lucky? also on a side note this has to be the best survival game ever created. i cant wait to work my way up to 2hrs now lol

i downloaded this from steam and dont have the files on my computer to move around. i found the beta build i need to install but it didnt change the version its showing im running online. any help for steam users? or am i just a newb? lol

I just bought this today and installed up to ver 1.7.1.4 but when im going to get into games its telling me im running ver 1.60 and that ver 1.60.93825 is required. i cant figure out how to fix this. also when i do find a server that i can get into it tells me the server version is 1.7 and i have no sound or debug window. any ideas? any help would be awesome. checked the cache, updated on six updater, checked steam to make sure it was updated correctly, launched in CO and still getting a wrong version. also when i do find one that says i have same version its telling me "you cannont play/edit this mission it is dependent on DLC that has been deleted Dayz_code, dayz_weapon, dayz_equip, dayz_vehiclas bump?

same with me...i feel like i just happened to find this game at the wrong time. cause im very impatient and if i cant play it soon ill just find something else to ruin my marriage(and i thought it would be zombies)
