I, on the other hand (on Battlefield), saw fight the rigged and "stat-padding" servers only until BF2 was the last game released. Then, when BF-BC2 came out, they started turning a deaf ear to every report of a rigged server. When BF3 came out they actually shut down support and the "rigged" servers grew like mushrooms. It seems clear to me that their aim was only to make money, not to concern themselves with the "correct use of their software"... and, perhaps, the incorrect use of the "old servers" was also convenient for them because it encouraged the "honest" players (out of exasperation) to migrate to the new game, which had support. In my opinion, companies that make video games should be obliged by law to control and guarantee the "peaceful and correct use" of their servers, or NOT allow private individuals to manage them. And, if we really want, also maintain a staff that constantly follows the various servers (and the various reports) personally, following "suspicious" players and not just reading the server logs... if they ever do that. But that of cheaters players is a longer and more complex discussion. But at least the correctness of the use of one's own servers... if given to private individuals to manage... should be the "basis of civility" for every video game... the "minimum wage". Otherwise it's like giving a powerful scam and bullying tool to a child, because often (in all the video games I've tried), whoever takes the trouble to manage a server does it out of the desire for power over others and uses that power to gratify his own ego and, sometimes, that of his friends/clan. Always my 5 cents.
  3. In my opinion no. I would, yes, change the behavior of the zombies, but to make them even more stupid. In fact you are right about one thing: when they chase you into a house, they always know where the second door is and they immediately run there. It's unrealistic and ruins the immersion. Even zombies jumping over all fences and gates is quite stupid and unrealistic, at least according to a good part of the filmography (obviously, given that... fortunately... zombies don't exist in reality... for the moment , at least... over the years we will see what technology and pollution will combine, but that's another matter). Rather... since I agree that, right now, zombies aren't much of a danger... instead of making them become "criminal geniuses" (knowing all the routes, jumping fences and opening doors)... since they are zombies and should have a completely compromised brain... why don't we make them more lethal? A bit like it used to be: they could kill the player (this came in handy a few times, but I really miss it. It was much better once). And I would also add the high chance of seriously infecting the player... at least 75% chance of infecting them and with 50% chance of having serious effects (even death) if you don't cure yourself very quickly. This, in my opinion, would make the challenge a little more... challenging... but in a more realistic and immersive way. Oh... Also increase the "Z-call" distance when a Z discovers a human and chases him while shouting. AND... Very important, in my opinion, is that in fact, when they reach a human inside a house, they do not stop passively in front of the windows... they should remain pissed off and continually try to attack the human even beyond the window... at least until when the human is in their sight. This would be more realistic and immersive, in my opinion. The way is to make them become more angry and deadly, but more STUPID, not the other way around. My 5 cents

    Próximo wipeo de servidor

Where did he write "experimental"? I think he was asking about "normal" game servers. Knowing the date of the Total Wipe gives you the dimension of the time you have left to continue the game... always too little, in this type of game... 🙁

    Loot Spawns

I always went to the military turrets. I was sad when they removed the spawn up there. It was a bit risky, because you had to go all the way to the top to see what was there and you were a target for a possible sniper, but you always found something... instead of the dormitories you go around and around and rarely find anything.

Nice full, that server... how's it going with the cheaters? 🙁

A game server is NOT like "your house"... is a rented place where you run a public game and do it for other people to play... like a Bar or Restaurant. You can't kick people out without a justified reason, NOT like it's your home ! But this is a problem that originates in the B.I. rules and how it enforces them. It is a problem common to many video games, always because the companies that sell them prefer the rent money (favoring the administrators who pay, even if they are children who have never grown up and are arrogant and domineering) rather than seriously committing to making their game work in a civilized and humane environment... even when managed by third parties. But the worst, in my opinion, is seeing that most of the other people (those not directly involved) NEVER side with the victim... but always with those who "hold the power" (in this case the asshole admin on duty )... I always see these things, even in "normal" life. At work I have always seen workers side with the exploiting boss and never with the exploited worker (cowards and opportunists)... and the institutions almost never do anything... (long speech). Same thing in video games... generally the players (if they are not involved) agree with the admin in charge (out of cowardice and opportunism)... instead of all abandoning the server... It is the companies that sell and manage the video game that SHOULD make sure this could NEVER happen. But no one wants to limit sales or lose rental profits, and we know that those who rent a server (and pay for it), do so... essentially... to be able to mind their own business. Very often it is precisely the most frustrated with life and the most "fanatic" who are willing to spend on a server where they can then vent their frustrations and "adolescent lust for power" on the unfortunate person in question. (as well as cheating the game and the statistics, it depends on the game, obviously) Since 2003, with my first ADSL, I have been seeing these things... in ALL the video games I have tried, where it is possible to rent a server and where the company that rents it essentially turns a deaf ear to earning as much as possible. Console yourself... DayZ is "just" a video game. When (unfortunately too often) the same thing happens in real life, and MUCH worse... 🙄
  8. It's time to throw those useless locks in the garbage and implement something similar to "Code Locks". All the fences are very easily destructible without much effort anyway... at least the lock be decent. And remember that those padlocks are always "with one digit less", since if you set the first digit, you don't need to find the last one... just make a complete turn and it clicks on its own: therefore basically useless!

    Experimental Update 1.25 (Change Log)

More weapons, huh?!? Why are new things always just weapons or hats and bags? Why not really improve this game with more fabrications for the bases (new 1&½ high fences, stronger and MUCH more buildable on steep terrain and inside houses), more usable furniture for the bases (assembled and dismantled with dedicated storage for clothes, belts , boots and backpacks... FULL !), other leather constructions for survival (everything: jackets, trousers, jackets, gloves, shoes, etc)... this, IMHO, is what would be needed (as well as repairing the many defects), not more weapons and hats! If you really want to add some weapons, why not an PKM, with a truly functional bipod and interchangeable sights? That's a good weapon that isn't there yet... if you really want to go back to the war FPS. There are already many sniper weapons in this game. Do you want to make a collector's sample? Do you remember that DayZ is a survival game against the infected and not another of the many war FPS, yes? 🙄 P.S. Those chains with padlocks are literally sucks, and the last digit doesn't even have any use, since all you have to do is turn it randomly and it clicks by itself 😠
  10. Sure, obviously. But since the argument had been brought up that "to sell you have to please as many people as possible"... Do you want us to try to open a survey to see how many would like more weapons, how many would like more constructions (leather, wood and survival in general) and how many would just like to fix the defects? Maybe even a fourth entry about hats and handbags (if anyone misses them). Maybe in a "neutral" place other than the forum of the company that sells this game? I bet I already know the ranking of the various positions... 😁
  11. If you have also read the comments on that video on Wobo's YT, you will also have understood that the people asking for new weapons are decidedly few compared to those asking for other more "survival" features and above all the solution to the game's defects (including vehicles ), rather than new weapons and hats/handbags. And that video is just an example of what you read around, not just in your forum. 😐
  12. Do you only consider the feedback you receive at "https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/2/", or do you also consider those from the forum? AND... Have you ever watched the "Wobo" videos and maybe even read all the comments on the videos. Take a look at this video and, above all, his comments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7FawRK4X-I
  13. Well... A bit of a complicated discussion, but... you don't have to listen to everyone. If one day, someone asked for a flying pink unicorn... would you add it to the game? I think, but it's my opinion, that you should first decide what exactly this game should be... and follow that guide. From what I have read (and which I also mentioned regarding the "Wipes") it should be a survival of the pandemic... some weapons are fine, but the REALLY important things should be all those concerning the survival of a virus pandemic (shelters , improvised weapons, leatherwork and craftsmanship, safe and defensible bases) do not remake an "ArmA clone". I know that DayZ is "derived" from ArmA, but precisely for this reason... it is NOT "ArmA" anymore, it's another type of game, otherwise it would have been enough to continue with ArmA. And this is a concept that many have not understood. I reiterate the concept that: those who only want to hunt other people, their game is "ArmA". DayZ should be ANOTHER GAME. Sorry for the outburst, but I will never get tired of repeating it.
  14. Now that I look carefully at the photo posted... Are we sure that it refers to "DayZ" and not to "ArmA"? 🤔 P.S. The comment is "ironic", but unfortunately also "too real" given the path DayZ is taking... 😕
  15. Thank you. 🙂 But... also having to ask and seeing that it's a player answering and not a "staff member" is a lot to think about... 🤔 🤨
  16. Does anyone know who manages the official "NWA-3xxx-EU" servers? They seem offline for several hours. Maybe someone also knows what happened and if they will come back online?

    Experimental Update 1.23 (Change Log)

Thanks for your effort but I didn't understand anything. I don't know Linux, otherwise I don't think I would have this problem. Many years ago I tried some distributions, but I never understood how to set them up and modify them, and I stayed with Windows, where I found all the drivers and favorite programs. 😉

    Experimental Update 1.23 (Change Log)

Anyone who hates rain means they haven't understood the game well. In the rain the Zs see less and hear very little... you can get behind them without alerting them and you can kill them more easily and silently with just a knife. Convenient especially for military areas. And if you're well fed and properly dressed, rain isn't a problem... it's just annoying when it's too much and for too long. Thunderstorms are rare and there is too little fog, however. I love fog, especially thick fog. 🙂
  19. It happened to me, in 2020, as soon as I purchased this game (I didn't know it yet) that I met an already "expert" Italian. Even though I told him I didn't want to kill anyone and raid, he took me there anyway. I should have told him to fuck off right away, but I wanted to understand how the others played. I continued with him in his favorite server (public vanilla of the B.I.)... it was one of the most populated servers (in the evening it was packed that you had to queue) and he already had 2 Lada Niva hidden ready with some NVGs. Long story short, during the game he played a joke on me which, at the time (not knowing the game) just left me very perplexed: We were in touch with Discord and he told me several times that he was behind me, but when I turned around he didn't I saw no one, and this many times in a row so I had a clear idea of everything around me, because I was constantly turning to follow his (stupid) directions... and the ground was completely deserted for 100/150 metres, then there 'it was the woods. At one point, while I was constantly turning around, he had "magically" appeared behind me 1/2 meter... impossible to do while running in a few seconds without some kind of "trick". At the time I didn't understand the "problem" and I replied that he was good at camouflaging himself. Then I thought about it and I started to have serious doubts and I gave up with an excuse. Too bad I didn't make any videos, I would have reported it and put it on YT. This is still a "famous person" (he is the head of some clans on different games and is also in the administration group of some groups on Steam: a DOC "dickhead") and after this fact, I had to suffer the "harassment " of some of his "friends" (in Italy, unfortunately, there are many who follow the cult of the "pack", that of "stitch-up" and that of "conspiracy of silence"... and they are often also very vindictive. It's really a shame not to be able report, the only real way to fight them, IMO). This is also why I changed my account and nik. Among various things, looking for friends on Steam, I found a small group who... without telling me anything... took me to a server where, in the end, they were also playing with him and... magically... while I was trying to reach them, they started commenting among themselves that that "DH" was going to play a joke on me and giggling among themselves... after a while I found a pack of wolves in a place where it was not possible to find wolves, near to the south/east coast... while these "funny people" laughed at each other in Discord, implicitly admitting that it was done on purpose by this "dickhead". What beautiful people, huh?!? This is my direct experience. Then, playing alone on public servers found at random, I happened to be suddenly killed in the middle of nowhere, in a forest completely out of any path or inhabited center... I was always left wondering if it was a cheater or a sniper who happened to pass by. Unfortunately, the specific features of the game (which few know and no one complains: shots past almost all walls as an idiotic specific feature of the game... just search for videos on YT), the "game management" features (these programmers do nothing against this plague and do not even encourage the possibility of players to "control each other" and seriously report cheaters), they make it very difficult to understand if it is a "normal game" or "cheater" when you die or are raided and robbed everything to you. In my opinion it's simple: If you don't like the game very much, abandon it and live happily. If you really like the game a lot, you have to learn to live with this problem... they will never solve it anyway. The only thing that "seems" to work is to look for servers that are not very populated (very very little populated). Cheaters don't have fun there and don't frequent them. They just enjoy feeling capable of "commanding" everything and everyone, and are only looking for servers full of people. I used to frequent the "Public/Veteran" servers, but they closed them... now the public servers are few and always very full and, cheaters aside, it's not a great game. Those in the community... either they are full of absurd mods (monsters, aliens, dinosaurs, and shit like that), or they have absurd rules, or they have an overbearing and discriminating administration (often, unfortunately. They are generally frustrated children looking for power to gratify one's ego. In all video games, this...). I found a few community servers good... all with few people and they were closed, unfortunately. However, to return to the specific problem (the cheaters), unfortunately, given how things are and how they have been going since I started (2020) I don't think there will ever be a solution... unfortunately... P.S. Sorry for the Google translation.

    serveur officiel (signalement)

Ciao. Buona giornata 😉
  21. Searching with Battlemetrics I saw many vanilla servers where, in the title, it is specified that it is a "PvE" server. How do they ensure that players won't shoot each other without any mods? Is there some way in the server configuration files to inhibit player-to-player damage that I've never seen or some "strange script" that does this job? Or is it just a "scam attracting customers"? Any opinion/suggestion is welcome. Thank you

    PC requirements

Personal advice: SSDs are really very fast, but if they have problems you can suddenly lose them and never recover anything. HDDs are really slow, but if they go into "crisis" they give defects for a long time and with a little experience and the right software (Power Data Recovery 6.5 is good and free), you can recover everything before they die. Therefore O.S., drivers, programs and video games on an SSD (of which you will save the image with Ghost or similar) ALL your data (archives, photos, videos, various info... everything else) in one HDD and you will backup to another HDD (even directly the clone image) as regularly as you can and use some software that keeps the S.M.A.R.T. under control of the HDD (not perfectly reliable, but better than nothing). This way it is also easier to have different installations and change SSD at startup and not have trouble with boot loaders. I have lived happily like this for years. 😉

    New respawn

This is one of the stupidest and most "evil" changes I've ever seen in DayZ. They seem to do everything they can to turn it from a "survival" to a "battle royale". Bad... very bad... 😠
  24. Riddick_2K

    Soft Skills

Well... the idea is also good, but you should get some additional ability (more material obtained, additional combinations, otherwise impossible repairs), not a few seconds advantage on the "usual trivialities"... and it should stay for a long time. .. and rely on "practice" to maintain the skill... don't eliminate yourself with contrary actions. In the game you need to do everything and this shouldn't be so penalizing. As it is, it seems clear to me that it is one of the most poorly made and useless features of the game. Too long to have it without any real benefit and too easy to lose it. Simply ignore it and play as usual. Too bad, though, a good opportunity missed. 🙁
