    A little excessive as proportions. 20,000 / 700 = 28.58 ± Who would be able to eat more than 28 animal steaks just to have a full stomach? I would be curious to know what the World Record is on this. Another BS from the developers of this (potentially) nice game. Developers: How about making the acquired energy value, steak value, and in-game consumption a little more plausible ? THANKS

    Just for the record. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know what or who to blame for car defects, but I've seen one thing many times. I have my personal server (the one downloadable from Steam) started to better understand the game and now I enjoy it a lot anyway without struggling with various marauders and assassins: just pure survival as if I were the last survivor. Well, obviously I have a decent base (built by passing the scripts from "DayZ Community Offline Mode" masonry with H2O and gasoline) and adapting the server files to what I believe is "more realism" (what the game allows me, of course). I haven't tried any MODs yet, but I already have some pending. Obviously I have been using the cars since the first time I found one (a Skoda). Now I have 2 Skoda, 2 Niva, 1 Golf and 1 Olga. Having made this long introduction (necessary to frame my experience a little. The hours of play you can get from my profile, but ± 40% on official servers & ± 60% on my private server) I use the cars exclusively on my private server, on the public ones I consider it too high a risk to simply become a target for the a**hole on duty ... and I don't want to work for others and die too easily. And I get to the point (finally :-D) The private server is maintained by the same PC I play with, so PING is very low (it should be nearly zero, but I don't think it is). The machine is an FX8300 @ 8x4200MHz, 20GB 1600 cl11, a GTX1060 6GB and S.O., drivers, programs and game are on one SSD; nothing exceptional, I defend myself with FPS oscillating between 30/40 & 75 (of the monitor). With DayZ & DayZ Server (plus some PC management software, temperatures and fans) no core is ever used over 80/85% and the RAM is never occupied over about 70/80% Here, with this PC, with no other player ... ONLY ME in the game ... the cars are always thrilling. Generally they work (with their classic flaws, they don't go uphill, wheels often slip, gears too long, engine too weak, speed indication unrealistic, etc ...) but the worst is stoppages and wince in certain situations, especially when from a "deserted" area (uninhabited coastal road), you enter a city ... always a few blocks of variable time. When I return to the base, with various tents, I always have to brake and stop first or risk a disaster ... and, then, advance very very slowly, especially between the tents (now I also have a gate and stop anyway). Sometimes I have seen cars shake when stationary ... 2 times the GOLF has literally disappeared, physically still present, because if I approached I found a "physical block", even if I did not see anything and I could not even see the inventory. Only when the server was restarted did the GOLF reappear as I had parked it (luckily). A couple of times the car stopped completely for a few seconds and then I found myself: 1st time on a wall (2 wheels and radiator broken), 2nd time on a pole (always 2 wheels and the radiator broken plus damaged battery). For these last defects, however, there were "signs": even the infected were blocked. The first time not always, the second practically every time. As soon as they saw me, the usual "scene" began, but when they had to shoot towards me they were stuck in the "pissed" position. I could easily reach them and beat them up. Very rarely they unlocked and reacted. Then I rebooted and things settled down. But the "micro blocks" remain a bit random everywhere. More accentuated where there are more things around. In fact, given also the poor and unreal performances of the cars, I never use the 4th or 5th ... already very rarely the 3rd. I never go beyond 70/80 Km / H, I am always afraid of the lightning disaster, and only after I have verified, with a stretch of road, that the server has no particular defects or problems of blocks or other. I have never seen a car fly, maybe this is really a problem due to the net-code or the ping of the players, but I can assure you that it is NOT ONLY for the net-code or the ping of the players that the vehicles are bad... even alone in a server on the same PC these cars are literally "thrilling" ... you never know if you will arrive with the healthy car or you will have to leave it broken somewhere and return on foot considering that it went well for you, seen that you are not dead. I think it is the game that has something wrong with it, and that maybe the net-code or the ping of the players makes it work much worse ... but it's NOT JUST that, it already works very badly anyway. I'm sorry to have made it long, but I wanted to write it for a while and I took the opportunity... and it was also necessary to explain the conditions in which I had my experiences that I have told.     Ok... It's not a "FPS" in the "classic" sense (although too many play it like that out of boredom, I guess), and believe me I'm the first to support it... In fact, if you search with my nik on Steam I was looking for companions of my language (unfortunately I do not know English and I have to use Google. I think you understand from how I write :-D) to share adventures ONLY PvE and since I activated my personal server, where I can hunt, fish, build the my base in peace and wandering around the map with the NIVA, a good part of my playing time is there. If you want (or don't trust me) I can host and show what I do and the base I built (thanks especially to Arkensor's "DayZCommunityOfflineMode". I can also let you try all the cars and all the weapons). However, I call it an FPS because in any case you play it in first person (FP) and in any case you have to defend yourself (S); that they are infected, wolves, bears ... or, if in public servers, even "human a**holes" (murderers out of boredom, simple marauder, etc.) So in fact it is an FPS. A "survival FPS" and NOT a "war FPS" (like ArmA: his "War Alter Ego" 🙂 ). Believe me I do not confuse the 2 concepts, although still very similar, I only used the term FPS in the "generic" sense because DayZ is that anyway, of a "particular type", but it is. Having said this, which I hope is understood despite the Google translations (😕)... I remain of my idea that any game where you play a character in a certain context... be it of "war" (ArmA, Battlefield, COD, etc...), or be it of "survival" (DayZ, in this case)... however so that it is "immersive" and that it makes you forget that it is "just a game" it SHOULD be as plausible as possible, and limit any possible exceptions to this as much as possible. I have already given some examples, needless to repeat myself. I can do one more last: The Sun they implemented with 1.08 is awful, absurd and unrealistic. Whenever I have to see him in the trees he is always an "eyesore" and reminds me how stupid and poorly written this game is and ruins the identification and fun of a game that still has its pleasant and funny (otherwise I wouldn't be here writing for him again). As well as the absurd consumption of materials, the backpacks that must be emptied to put them in the car, the increased difficulties in placing tents or palisades not perfectly level, etc... All deliberate choices, not defects of the game... this is what bothers most: it is not a defect, it is done on purpose 😬 And... t-shirts, sweaters and jackets that cannot be worn together (as in reality), but only one at a time. This dont know if it's deliberate or a simple bug/lack 🤔 For me these are all things that ruin the game... and it saddens to see that at each patch/update they fix 10 but ruin another 3/4... that with the defects of the game still never repaired (see cars) and the shortcomings serious (boats and canoes) make me think of a fun game, yes, but very "agonizing". I think his real luck is just that he has no effectual alternatives. 😧

    Absolutely not. A game, any game, first of all must be realistic ... or at least "plausible", otherwise it becomes crap and does not allow you to identify with the character and the "story" and enjoy the game. AFTER, but only after, you can accept "oddities" if these serve to "balance" aspects of the game that, just because it is only a game, could never be too realistic not to make the game too boring or banal. I think of the zombies that are reborn after a while that a player has moved away: it is absurd and completely unreal ... in a "plausible" context the infected do not rain from the sky and not even reborn again "adults" ... but it's game, that's how you need it, those who arrive later must be able to find their "ration of infected", so it is right that they are reborn, but only after you have strayed very far and for a certain amount of time, not only if you go to some areas in a city, or go to a farm out of a country and back in the country... you work on balance time-distance for respawn. But the mere fact of ruining objects in an exaggerated way beyond all logic just to make the game a little more difficult is pure and simple BS! it just makes that game more stupid and unreal. if anything, a possible "balance sheet" (if it were required) must be sought in another way. Rather by making knives and boots much rarer, and leaving only stone knives (which logically can have a limited lifespan) and trainers (as above) common. The game as it is now is just that absurdly stupid. And a piece of advice to those who seek only and exclusively the "game difficulty" whatever absurdity it involves: buy a Rubic's Cube, this is the right game for you, not an FPS of any kind.

    The one about "cheats" is a long diatribe, not only in this forum ... and I too would have something to write about it but this is not the place and the time. I only post 2 links that, in my opinion, are "enlightening" to those who have never "clashed" with these ignoble people who IMO should be fought much more seriously than what it is being done, and for so many other games and companies , NOT just for DayZ & BI. [snip] and these are the easiest to find, enough only use Google... I don't think the "best" & "undetected" can be found publicly only by using "Google"... :-/ And I just want to mention that: * - The special software "Anti-Cheats" does NOT always work well (they do not take everyone and also have false positives... and [tried in person with PunkBuster] lend themselves to "being piloted" to harm those who have nothing to do with the cheats. Must take care seriously on purpose, and with a budget to commit because these cheat software are on sale and you also have to "struggle" to be able to buy the "good and working" ones. A bit like "infiltrating the Mafias", are the video game companies that they should actively deal with this! * - NOT always those who use a cheat is the "idiot child" on duty, who enters a server and starts killing everyone like crazy..[snip] 😞

    PVE Players Wanted! (well 2!)

    Hello. I came across this post by chance (long to explain) but I think exactly the same way and ... I also have my own custom server for pure PvE ... and I enjoy it too. I looked for playmates in my language who thought like me but I haven't had any luck yet. Unfortunately I don't speak English, and for reading and writing I'm bad. I'd still like to try to interact with you in some way ... surely we won't shoot each other for "language problems" :-D. If it's okay with you to try anyway we can discuss ... Placed in your server, or if you want I can also try to host. I'm modifying mine (I'm learning to do it ... with time and difficulties) to try to make it as "realistic" as I can. I don't use the game's VoIP, but Discord (or TS3 if preferred). If it's okay with you to try ... at first through chat, which is easier for me to understand the written text ... then if you use "school" English, maybe I'll get my ear. P.S.
