The point that few consider is that the spawn of objects, all... including food... is decided in a "fixed" way by the *.xml files of the servers. It does NOT depend on how many people enter and / or take those things. This is why someone could find a lot of food, if everyone who has passed before was not needed, or it has been a long time since anyone has been there. Conversely, if a server is heavily populated, or if some "hungry" players have been in that place, you won't find anything at all. This is what happens, it depends on the game's spawn system. There is little to do. Either a dynamic system is implemented that takes into account the number of players who enter, in what conditions they are, how hungry they are, etc... and the food spawn is adjusted accordingly... or you can just imagine that there will certainly be more need on the coast for the new born and it increases a little. Only those who are already equipped go north and you can decrease a little, but you cannot exceed them, because they are "statistical" estimates that could be disregarded. Honestly, I don't see any other way, and... since I have also a personal opinion. Me too, now that I am equipped because I have been playing for a while and I have one my own base in the north (in the official server), I feel no particular need food and I have made a small supply of boxes according to need. But it is also true that, as soon as I was born, I really found many difficulties, and this time (born with 1.11, after the wipe) I found many difficulties with food to start this character. And I also choose low pop servers, but that does not mean "desert", nor that it is my personal server and that no one enters it that I have not invited. Evidently I was born in a place already looted and it was hard to get by. So I understand both those who complain about "too little food" (often it is), and those who complain about "too much food" (it may even seem that way)... the point is that programmers must consider the needs of ALL players, new and old, experienced and inexperienced, equipped and not equipped, and find a compromise on that. With this 1.12 they increased food on the coast and spawn points and decreased in the north. This is what they could do without completely changing the whole object spawn system... there are so many old and major repairs they should do and I believe they will never do... I don't think they will completely change the "static system spawn" to implement a "dynamic" one... and then can you imagine the defects, problems and bugs... that they will probably NEVER fix? Forget that it's okay... indeed, it's "less worse" so... 😉 P.S. Sorry for my bad english but i have to use Google, I hope I managed to make myself understood anyway

OK ... I discovered the problem with the plants. They simply grow, wither, die and disappear all within 1 or 2 hours. Another one of the many bullshit these programmers have done to ruin this game. I've never seen such a thing, and I'm more surprised that I haven't read anything about it yet ... Nobody who plants vegetables? All alone looking for weapons to exterminate each other? Or are plantations used only in modded servers? I play on official servers and have been building a small gated base lately. Inside I cultivated a little and everything worked as it should. How as in reality happens (more or less). You dig the earth, you put the seed, you water (or you wait for the rain: on Cernarus it almost always rains) and you wait for the plant to grow ... when it has grown you reap the fruits. And the plant continues to live and bear fruit, like ALL normal crops. In case you have to fight with pests and diseases, but NOT with "ghost plants". I really hope it's a bug, otherwise it's just another evidence of how much BI programmers hate this game or the players who use it. 😞 If I don't find it already done, as soon as I have some time, I'll open a ticket on purpose ... and let's see the answer.

But really not at all. I have been playing since 1.07 and since I did some practice (maybe from 1.08) I have always run crouched and just turn around and NO ONE sees or hears you. And if I wanted to kill them, I would come from behind them always running crouched and took them from behind, even close enough to other infected ones. The only difference was the ax which, with updates, was reduced as damage. But if you ran crouched you always ran away and no one saw you. If by chance you alerted someone, just stop and, remaining crouched, they calmed down And this until 1.11. Now, with 1.12, they hear you right away and see you from a distance, even if you are crouched and still ... and they attack you. They run faster, I have a lot of difficulty locking them up in houses or sheds, and if you try to get to them from behind, you have to do it from afar (otherwise they see you) and do it slowly (otherwise they hear you) ... and from crouching you are very slow, almost as much as an infected and reaching him has become a challenge if you don't run ... but if you run they hear you. By now the surprise silent attack from behind hardly works anymore ... either you shoot him in the head from a house, or from a distance if you can, or you have to attack him directly and suffer a lot more and plan to take a lot more damage and bleeding. The silent attack has NOT been improved but WORSE ... and by a lot. And the fact that, IF you can silently reach him from the back (much harder now), you can kill him with a single blow of the knife ... is irrelevant, as it has become a very rare event to do. It was 1000 times better before. And it was also more realistic, if anyone cares (I have read some comments, but too few) ... I would like to see any living thing, infected or not, withstand 5, 6, 7 blows of the ax or accept, violent or not. .. and keep attacking. An absurd thing. They keep finding every way to ruin this beautiful game, as if it didn't already have enough flaws that have never been fixed forever ... I just hope, sooner or later, someone will write a decent alternative ... and given how DayZ is doing, it wouldn't take long. Many modders who write on DayZ surely could do better ...
-
Now even when you are crouched they can see you even from a distance and if you try to get closer, even from the back and crouched, they hear you immediately. What happened to the silent back attack? What's the point of being able to kill them with a single blow to the back if you can't even get close to crouching? Then they always give you damage and bleeding ... and not even an ax is of any use ... but what kind of infected are these? Cyborg? The new update of the fighting with the infected is absurd, it was 1000 times better before. This last one is such a crap 😞 P.S. To me they no longer grow up plants ...

One easter egg "Pokéball" in 1.12 ?!?
Riddick_2K replied to Riddick_2K's topic in General Discussion
@McWendy I've seen it before but, if I'm not mistaken, it's only in 3rd person and that's something I hate. Even DayZ, at first, I was doubtful whether to try it or not because it ALSO had the 3rd person, but verified that it was also possible to play in 1st person, when I found it on offer I decided to try it anyway. I always play ONLY in 1st, except rare occasions when I have to maneuver in reverse with the cars (mainly in my server or modded. I have only recently had 2 cars in a vanilla public) or when I have to place some object on the floor and the "ghost of the encumbrance" is not clearly visible in 1st. Only a few rare times, in dangerous situations, have I used the 3rd person to look over some wall or fence... and it has always ruined the dive and given me the bad feeling of using "illegal tricks", even if it is the game that it's like that... but since everyone can do it, sometimes I have allowed it to myself... but I don't like it. In the HC servers I feel better, I don't use the cars anyway, and I manage with the objects in some way In these games (FPS basically) I always want to impersonate a character and think that I am personally in that situation... and I can only do that in 1st person. The 3rd person view does not allow me to identify with the character and it seems to play with toy soldiers, like when I was a child. I do not like. This 3rd person, for me, is a sufficient condition to discard any game. Thanks for tips, anyway 😉 -
One easter egg "Pokéball" in 1.12 ?!?
Riddick_2K replied to Riddick_2K's topic in General Discussion
But can you really find such shit in DayZ ? ! ? 😮 😕 And do you enjoy this dung ? 😧 You should change your game, with so many absurd fantasy games with flying dragons, gnomes, wizards, witches, ghosts and ectoplasms of various kinds... which have NOTHING to do with the "likely pandemic" that is the subject of DayZ. Already this game is unfortunate in its own right, for how badly written and poorly managed... without listing all the flaws it has (and not all by mistake, some are just deliberate beyond all logic), but we also want to put the flying unicorns, since we don't have helicopters? it would be fun... surely someone would enjoy fluttering in the clouds riding a flying unicorn... and what about cars that run badly? maybe a giant caterpillar to bring many players around the map, could that be an idea? Even with that, surely someone would have a good time. I hope that my irony is enough to understand the concept, I would not even find the terms for a "serious talk" on this topic. What amazes me is to read so many "serious" comments on random ballistics, of which I share their intentions (the "playability" doesn't hit a pipe, it's just incompetence and/or indifference), but no one who complained of this nonsense out of context ... If it is true that it is in play, however... I found videos of the experimental and someone who claimed that it was in play in the stable... but I'm not sure yet that it also remained in the stable... Anyway I think of all those who have complained, over the course of the various updates (myself included), and have never pulled a spider out of the hole... and with each update we must continue to see stupid and useless additions, some minor tweaks... but the really serious ones are always present (flying cars, disappearing objects, glitches of various kinds, frequent desynchronization, and others that I don't remember now) and often something else is always broken, so much so that now I see the new updates as "disasters announced" (and regularly do I have confirmation). Probably many people have resigned themselves to having this potentially very beautiful game in "constant disaster". And of the bulk of the players, I'm afraid, they don't give a damn... I know many who buy games like bread... they play a little and get bored immediately, and so on with another one. For these, surely, even the flying unicorn and the giant caterpillar are fine... and BI is fine as well, so much the aficionados have already paid... 😕 Dunno... I too, honestly, if I found a better alternative I would already be there... and I'm looking for it... so much so that I'm back on my old Battlefields too, even those with their defects, but NOT so many... and although they are blatantly "arcade" in their genre, they are done better and more seriously (except BF5 which is a colossal shit of anti-historical nonsense ). And, just for the record, since I mentioned Battlefield: NO. I'm not one of those looking for PvP and "pew, pew", on the contrary... quite the opposite (I also have ArmA2-3, RS & RO, for that matter, that are made for this) in DayZ I am just looking for pure survival against pandemic (Z, mainly), but I would like a "serious" and as realistic game as possible, NOT full of bullshit and nonsense. Paradoxically, it bothers me much more to see the absurdities made on purpose (like the backpack that must be emptied to be placed in a car or in a barrel: something completely out of all reality) than the many defects of the game... which are random and NOT deliberately wanted -
After the 1.11 Update My Character Deleted!
Riddick_2K replied to mackumbelov's topic in General Discussion
This is yet another demonstration that they are incapable of decently fixing a game. Like when a PC crashes without being able to save the work started and you have to shut down and restart losing everything. It is the most striking failure of the company that wrote that software. By now we know that DayZ has this kind of developers, I really hope they give the game to someone else, who will certainly do better. If they gave it away to some of the modders who modify this game, if already so (some) do some excellent work, I imagine if they could get their hands in the code of the game. As long as DayZ remains at BI, we will always have to put up with these mistakes and this bullshit ... or change the game ... or hope for some similar but better "competitor". Not half ! -
If you buy a radio in a store and it doesn't work, what do you do? Do you go back to the shop to assert the guarantee and demand a radio that works or are you looking for the company that made it and see to get hired? If you have a leaky faucet and you call a plumber and he changes your faucet but it is still leaking, what do you do? Do you call the craftsman complaining and demanding the job well done or do you try to get hired by the company to fix your taps? Same thing, with the difference that, unfortunately, the principle that applies to all other hardware manufacturers and craftsmen does not apply to software houses: "the rule of art". In computer science the "as is" is valid, this is the real problem at the origin of ALL the software that does not work: it is the laws that need to be changed. Having said that, I have purchased this game, and EXPECT it to work, or to be made to work. it is my specific right! I am rather amazed at how many people try to justify this band of incompetents (and I am good because I grant them the "good faith", even if I have seen many wrong and absurd things DONE ON PURPOSE!). It is you "lickers" who ruin the chance of having decent repairs in good time. We should get him on fire under the ass to move him a little, even by promoting "Class-Action" against! Or resign yourselves all to continue forever with this shit that you have all paid for! Great good result! P.S. Who defends the work of these ... how to call them ... scribblers (?) ... should doubt that he is suffering from "stockholm syndrome" and find himself a good doctor 😉 P.S.2 And now ban me as well, that from this game and having to "fight against certain players to defend all the other players" ... I also broke my balls.

I've seen admins do a little bit of everything on private servers, spawn where they and the players want, spawn whatever they want, and even fix the health and blood of the players. Is there a special tool for this, a MOD or some string to add to the server files? I downloaded DayZ Server from Steam, maybe you just need to log in as an administrator? But I can't find the command list. And if having to give administrator power to more people? Is there anyone who can explain this to me? Thanks

But you still haven't figured out that DayZ, not only is badly handled, but also poorly written ... and not just for code flaws, but there are also many voluntarily written BSs that have nothing to do with reality and realism. And some also invoke "playability". Here everybody tries to justify what he likes or is comfortable with with the most absurd arguments. The fact remains that, in addition to the mountain of flaws, the game is also written in an absurd and incoherent way. A simple and stupid example? The timeline: Dandemic recently or long? A little bit like that and a bit like that. Canned food, jams, medicines seem to imply that the pandemic is only a few years old. Instead the cars, completely rusted with the parts to be used also completely rusted, seem to imply that the pandemic began many decades ago. But all food and medicines (no more products) should all be expired already. it's all an opposite of everything ... here it's all absurd. Sin. I really like this game, but the further it goes the more patches they add, the worse it seems to be. This 1.10 has broken the behavior of the cars more than the previous ones that I have seen (game from 1.07). I really don't know where we're going to end up. Perhaps hope that BI sells the game to some more "serious" company that actually fixes the game without adding anything, and the Modders for what it takes in the game.
-
It's a bug that didn't always happen, it happened to me only once, maybe to someone never. They said it was fixed, but maybe someone still happens to it and you don't. To be fair and consider it "fixed", it should never happen to anyone. 😉
-
If only... But if it has to behave like vehicles right now, they better not waste time and use it to fix the behavior of vehicles already in play. However there was a MOD under construction to add trains and rail switches, obviously with the locomotive being controlled by the player from the inside. But it has been in the works for many years and I don't know where it is. The latest information I had read said it was about to release the first public beta ... then Covid19 came and it "froze" everything. I don't know now. Try to search for "Hype Train Mod" by Arkensor (questo è il suo canale YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFB4z8XxAaEv3PxJnZ860uQ), maybe you will find some news ... but it is interesting to see the various videos of the mod under construction. If it worked it would be fantastic, I've been waiting for it since I met her 😄

I think a bug, but random. It happened to me too, I thought it was a choice of the developers (now they have inserted a tarp that can act as an emergency shelter or to repair tents, it seems), but on restarting the server and my reconnection, I was able to repair normally again even the door of a car curtain with a roll of duct tape.
-
I wrote it already in another thread, but I want to repeat it here too (Repetita Juvant). I also often use my private server (the one downloadable from Steam), installed on the same PC as the client, and being on the same PC, the ping should be 0 (zero), even if the game is ± 10/15 (?!?) Well... the behavior of the vehicles is very bad. Without rewriting everything again, this is the link to the full version: https://forums.dayz.com/topic/249348-experimental-update-110-changelog/?do=findComment&comment=2463666 🤨

Humm ... If you know something more, it wouldn't hurt to give at least some indications. On the fact that "making noise is useless"... maybe... you're right, but what else can we do? Maybe you try, it can serve as well as not... but badly you have only lost some of your time, but... if it worked? Generally an "active general discontent" is more "burning" than some complaining on a forum and that's it. Perhaps still little, indeed certainly still little... it would be better to complain even on the media (which is also done)... but if you "let it go" because there are "higher blocks", then surely none of the developers will ever do anything . I remain with my idea that if ALL those who complain about something also did a Feed on the BiStudio website... maybe... it wouldn't change anything, but... maybe... it could also change, if there were really many... and why not try, then?
-
Well ... honestly ... I have read it many times but I am not convinced that this is the case. When I arrive somewhere I already find everything, including food (apples, mushrooms, etc.) if it isn't there, even if I stay in the area, nothing changes. After reading on the forums that the spawn comes late, I have tried several times to move away and come back, but never noticed any changes. Certainly tried many times in my private server (that I have more time for the "tests" :-D), but even those times that I tried in a public, I got nothing more and I only risked my life. What I can confirm, in my private server where I can drive with cars without major problems, is that if I take a long trip with the car, many times as soon as I arrive, the Zs are not yet present ... or are few ... I have to wait 20/40 seconds and the zone begins to fill with Z that, from the spawn point, begin to wander around the zone. But for objects and food, I never found any differences. I'm not very convinced of this either. The difference is not that big ... the spawn of the objects in the empty points is decided with a precise time interval with the timing written in seconds inside the file "types.xml" ... the "distance" with the player is only for avoid that the player "sees directly" the spawn, so it should be short, but above all there is a precise time for each object when it has to appear again. There is no need to leave a city, nor wait even 5 minutes ... if the object in question is queuing for the spawn in that precise place, just go around the house and the object will be there on the way back. If that item isn't queued for spawn, getting out of town and waiting up to 5 minutes is useless. Obviously the longer you wait, the more objects will surely be reborn ... but for a matter of "queue" decided by the game via the "types.xml" file, not for your wait. I don't know if I managed to make myself understood with Google translation.

I don't think most players are that stupid. I remember that with this 1.10 even the firefighter clothing (waterproof and with excellent insulation according to the description of the game) already gets wet with little rain and you start to consume a truckload of food, always complaining about the cold. And in any case, even with simple cotton clothing (that it is military, not a simple shirt, of course) we are in Chernarus, between sea level and the hills that have only 450/500 meters the highest peak... we're not in Siberia or Alaska. These are the "usual" (unfortunately) bullshit of the developers who, instead of trying to make a serious and plausible game, enjoy making it a "Rubik's meatloaf"
-
Please report on BiStudio Feedback by adding videos as well. And if you find other reports on defects that you recognize, sign up. Maybe... maybe... if a lot of people do it, the developers will have to do something.
-
@ EzyStriderPS4 In a serious and logical game, yes, but this is an abstruse and grotesque game ... a kind of "Rubik's meatloaf". 😉
-
This update is server o client ?
-
As a "video game" it will never be truly "realistic", but it must at least be "plausible", otherwise it becomes a BS.
-
Well... You don't have to be a plumber to understand that a shower in the corridor to "wash yourself in a hurry" isn't a "good plumbing job". Then... on how exactly to cut, fillet and hemp a pipe, maybe, if you don't know the job, shut up... but that's another matter. P.S. "DayZ is realistic"... 🤣... if only... that's just what I want but I never see it and often, instead, it just gets worse... 😟
-
I'm sorry but I don't know English and I have to use Google and I understand that what I write must be terrible and I may not make myself understood. I agree with you (in part) at 50% of the speech. I do not agree with the greater functionality of the leather kit and share in part the lower wear of the boots... but I would say they should reduce it to 25% of what it is now, or even less. As I have already written, they could make good boot models rarer and consume much less and make other more "mundane" shoes more common. This would be a more realistic approach to the game. The "no no no" was a comment of exasperation at your proposal to increase the functionality of the repair kit ... because it is precisely the most wrong approach that makes the game more stupid... and I have read so many of this for the DayZ forums, where it seems that a bullshit here and a bullshit is enough to balance the game, but hardly anyone who cares that it is also a logical and plausible system ... Nothing personal against you, but an exasperation for all the absurd and grotesque proposals to make this (potentially) good game even more stupid and ridiculous. 😉
-
😃 Sounds like the old discussions about Battlefield and "campers" to me. Obviously it's a game, but you always play a character in a specific and well-defined context: a post-pandemic scenario in a region under Russia ... you are not an abstract entity in a universe lost in some galaxy, where the rules can also be strange and absurd. You need a bit of realism in the context in which you are in the game, otherwise how can you "immerse yourself" in the character and immerse yourself in the game? If this becomes just an endless sequence of absurd and unreal problems and flaws to be faced and solved, it becomes more of a "Rubik's meatloaf" than a "survival pandemic". 🤣 🤣 🤣
-
NO NO NO... all wrong, just the opposite. You can't fix one BS with another one! If the boots break too soon, you can't increase the leather repair kits or even make it infinite. It's BS. I am not interested in having a kit in every room, in every woodshed or have it running indefinitely...I am interested in having boots that do NOT break so quickly. This it's absurd and stupid. This really ruins the immersion in the game. I have a pair of suede shoes that I used for work (I mounted rock nets on the rocky ridges above the mountain roads) I used them a lot, then I changed jobs, for a few years I even went to the mountains in the snow for bivouacs (European Alps more than 2000/3000 meters, not 400/500 of Chernarus), then I bought some specific mountain boots (with ice crampons)... and I still use these shoes today for outings or for some work... they are very worn but still in good working order. I do not expect such a thing in a game, exactly because it is a game, but hunter boots, as a hiker or assault boots.... THEY CAN'T BREAK after a few kilometers it's absurd, and unreal ... it's a BS ! Rather make the boots rare, distribute only trainers, which could break even after a few days (DAY, NOT HOURS!) And make the boots rare... but that last a some weeks of play... not days or hours! ! ! This is the right approach for a survival game that also pretends to be a minimum of realism and not to be an idiot pseudo-arcade complex. The "realism" is reached with "verisimilitude" with real life, NOT with absurd and complicated tricks Please developers... (Admin removed unsafe GIF linked from http-page) Otherwise all serious players will have to migrate to MOD's personal "fixed" servers... If that's what you're really looking for... you've probably taken the right path... 😟
