    1.12 Lots of food

    OK. I started again (after the last Wipe) a character on an official B.I. (HC first person only). Indeed there is more food than once, but... NOT inside the Z... that with this new patch I am good careful not to deal with melee weapons... and those times where I could NOT do without, not i found nothing. On the other hand, in the houses there is actually more food, I find various types of pates and other canned meat and the new honey exchanges give a lot of energy. But the point remains, I already know the game and the map well enough and only ever go to low population servers. And already so I felt bad. If you have the misfortune of being reborn on the east coast, there is nothing... and before you arrive in any city or town you may find yourself in trouble. I was born in ^ Solnichniy ^ and in the village I found very little stuff, a little fruit and a few cans of pate (but little stuff for a newborn) just a pot to store some H2O, and not even in the infirmary (generally) there is much and even in the small military barrack I found nothing useful. Weapons: a stone knife (which lasts very short, but opens the cans), a crowbar and a baseball bat. But I found a waterproof backpack. And from that city you have to walk a lot to find something "more full-bodied", either to the N or to the S. And it was raining that the B.I. he sent her... I lock myself in the last house on the S and I find you another scared survivor just born (maybe that's why he didn't attack me, he didn't even have weapons)... we chat and then he goes away ( even if it was raining) saying that he wanted to find something better (maybe it was my presence that made him anxious :-D) boh... after a while I break too and, even if it was raining, I go out and start my journey: I didn't intend to go N, too much to walk and I didn't care about big cities... not even S, even more to walk to find something... and the best idea was to go inside, for "Dolina" and "Staroye" passing through the small military camp... on the street I noticed the mistake: the other player thought the same thing. On the street I found everything open and nothing at all but a stupid hat or some ridiculous pants. No food, no weapons... even the .22 shotguns were all emptied. The player before me had the same idea. this is how, perhaps, a player finds everything and thinks be it also too much (the one before me) and another, perhaps, finds nothing and complains. And in that place we were 2. I don't remember how many in total in the server, but few, as I have already said, I deliberately avoid overly populated servers... even choosing the appropriate times and accepting much more than 100 pings (it doesn't matter to me a ping over 100; a server with over 5/8 players is much more problematic ;-)) And not even a jar of multivitamin pills to eat a chicken... 2 I killed and rotted. I certainly didn't start making fires in the rain or inside a house. At one point I had to venture and cut straight through the woods and try to "overtake" the player (even if I didn't know where he wanted to go exactly), I just knew that I couldn't find anything useful. Not even at the military camp above "Staroye", or at the police barracks in "Staroye", did I find a usable weapon... and inside so many Zs that I carefully avoided... some house in the suburbs if isolated... and off to the SW. I aimed directly at "Dubovo" and "Baolta" which I know well and, generally, is not very busy (like the small Airfield)... I got there, even eating fruit on the street like when I was new to the game and I had just known the izurvive map 🙂 Then, yeah... in the end I managed to get myself a gun and a shotgun, but NOT silenced with some bullets, eat something more (no animals yet) an Amphibian but without bullets and a hoe and some seeds... I could have cultivate, but as long as I'm not in yellow, I don't want to "waste time" with this. Eventually many steak knives too. however, neither at the police barracks under "Novoselki", nor at the military tents just above, nor at the Balota Airfield I did not find any silencers. And they are always with very "unpaired" weapons and ammunition. Whether it is for "problems" of "bad spawn" or for "previous players"... however it is not always so easy to make a character... and I remember that I speak of servers with very low pop... but if you are not alone, there is it's always someone who gives you a shit first (and it's okay with you that they don't kill you to get what you have). And I know the game, I know the map and various possibilities of "getting by"... not all of them are like that. This is why I understand those who still complain that there can be little food... actually there are always situations where you can find yourself in real difficulty with food, just born... especially if you are new to the game. In any case, now it is true that it is not that serious anyway, we manage it anyway... and for those unfamiliar with the game, it is better to ask for suggestions on what / how to do... rather than complain... I wonder, though, a new one to the game... just born... in a medium or full server... I don't think he has a great chance of surviving, even if he manages to avoid the assassins and marauders... I don't think he find things useful or edible... and I don't think he can go very far in these conditions... except trying to kill another wretch hoping he has something to eat / use. It is the game that I do not like. In my opinion, despite my hours of experience, I believe that the only real way to be reborn and hope to survive is ONLY in a semi-empty server and hope for a good spawn. Then it could really be easy too. Already with a "bad spawn"... if you are not really the one and only in the server you may have some difficulties... nothing serious, if you already know the game, but if you do not know it you may already find yourself in some difficulty. If you try to be born fresh on an average or full server... good spawn or NOT good spawn... your cabbage Anyway, to conclude by answering the original title... there is actually really more food than there used to be, but NOT inside the Zs (which are also much more mangy) but for the houses... if someone hasn't been there before and raided everything... 😉

    Bug or trick?

    In a sparsely populated server I have a Volga deposited in a farm shed where I put a fence behind and a front door inside with 4-digit padlock and if I don't use it (very little, only for possible recovery of barrels, crates or the like) I also close the external doors with a lock pick. For a few days I realized that I can no longer interact with the external doors (those of the shed)... I see the icon to interact, I press the button, the "swivel" starts but it disappears immediately. I don't know if such a thing has happened to someone. Sometimes it happens to me, especially with the petrol tank, that the character wraps up and I see the tank inside the backpack but the game still considers it in my hand and I can't take anything anymore... but it's different... and just go out and back in and everything settles down. I tried several times to go out and back but nothing... I waited for some server restarts but nothing... I was already worried... until, just yesterday, a player asks me for friendship. I accept it and write to him asking what he wanted. This replies that we are few on that server and if you could collaborate and then he asks me about the vehicles, that he needs one and can not find any, and if I know where to find one. I answer him generically about how the vehicle spawn works, I DON'T tell him that I have 2 cars to use... but that I know where a Volga is parked but that it belongs to someone and I don't like the raid and the "to break the balls to the next" and that if he wants we can organize a few games together and that I would gladly help him get a car. And we agreed so... This morning I log on to the server and go immediately to check the doors of the shed and... miracle... they work again. Inside seems to be everything but... is disappeared one car door of the Volga... Has that ever happened to you? Since it has already happened to me the "sly man on duty", and I would not want to waste my time with another of these... according to you: They are just "strange combinations" and the lack of interaction these days with the doors of the shed is just a defect of the game and car doors disappear normally? Or did it really happen to me again the "sly man on duty" and now I'm just "my problems"? 😯

    In reality, yes... but this game is well out of any reality (and don't answer me that dealing with zombies it can't be real... obviously zombies DO NOT exist, but a game SHOULD still be at least realistic about "real" things), and I'm not talking only of defects, but of deliberate choices, such as the backpacks that you have to empty them to archive them, the exaggerated consumption of everything (shoes, weapons, tools), now even the plants that last only 2 hours... but where ever you see things like this... not even in science fiction comics. Each patch always some new nonsense that spoils the game more and more. It seems that they try to make this game more and more absurd and grotesque... but I still don't understand if they hate the game or hate the players. Provided they are not coming from another Galaxy, where reality is completely different. 😮

In principle and for "realism" I might as well agree, but... is everything else that go bad, from the new Zs too careful and sensitive and too resistant to melee weapons... which is bullshit.     And, I recently learned, it seems that they also deleted all the loot from the military observation towers, the ones that surround the bases... and where the majority of the loot was. These are crazy, they are really ruining this game... I don't know how you still manage to justify them (for those who do it) it's all more and more absurd and more and more difficult. Both in the official vanilla servers and in my own personal, I have done the Main Air Base many times (the big one in the center of the map) and in the dormitories I have almost never found nothing good... just a few rucksacks sometimes, everything else, weapons, ammunition, accessories, NVG, etc. always on the turrets. Sometimes, for NVGs, on car seats. What will it be now? The desert ? Or will they fill the dormitories? From how I have seen the progression of the patches, I think it will be a half desert with other defects in tow... and with these new Zs I have no desire to look for the brawl for the dormitories and then not find anything good... What a bad end dayZ is doing, though... 🤬

    Well yeah... it was obvious it was a hypothetical discussion. These programmers don't even fix what the players ask for, let alone if someone thinks that it is enough to take a poll in a forum to get new maps... 😄 And... I don't think "Livonia" is a gift ... I've seen it sometimes in promotion, but never as a gift. They charge for that map. They could have given it to the community after all these years of problems and defects NEVER fixed, although I would still prefer repairs. However from what I see of this latest update (1.12: the worst ever) it is better that they NEVER touch anything again that every time they put their hand to this game they always ruin something. It would be nice if the game passed into other hands, or sold or as a gift... Or they could give it to the community, I bet that the various modders who "hang out" on DayZ would be able to fix it in a short time better than anything BI has done up to Now.

    But... have you forgotten the amount of flaws and problems this game has? Does it really seem appropriate to waste time and resources just for another map... which will work as badly as everything else? How does someone complain every now and then... rightly... BEFORE any other bullshit added they should fix everything in the game, including vehicles. And, in any case, before a map with a lot of sea and peninsulas, at least functioning boats would be needed, otherwise there is a lot of sea and wasted coast and many useless walks to get around the gulfs. And having boats available, I would prefer maps like Tanoa or Abramia. Maybe with the possibility of building rafts until you find a boat to repair and use... a bit like vehicles now. This would be interesting, but leaving the game as it is now, just any other maps, I don't see much use. I haven't even tried DeerIsle, which is free, and I don't even think about buying Livonia even for 5 € in promotion (with so many absurd bears and nothing costs ... Bah) of any other map, as long as the game remains as it is, not I can care less ...

[ironic off] With all the problems and flaws that this game already has, own this bullshit was missing ?
  10. I found the news that in the 1.12 update there would also be a kind of "Pokéball" that can catch all kinds of AI by engulfing them inside and release them on the next launch. I hope it's an Easter joke, a fake as news ... because such bullshit seems grotesque and excessive even for a badly written and poorly managed game like DayZ. I have read the update notes and have not found any news of this ... I really hope it is the reality of the update and not that it was simply "hidden" like a real easter egg.

    I don't agree, this is a game (*), it should be rewarding for the widest audience of players, not just satisfy the oldest, the most experienced or the most "fanatic" of trouble and problems . For those with special needs there are the mods... if one is looking for more difficulty, more or less difficult for food, more or less weapons, or even special weapons (I still hear players who would like helicopters... and I honestly don't understand the purpose, if not to do "Rambo", which should NOT be a feature of this game... but maybe I'm wrong) This of the increase of the loot in the Z of coast I had escaped me or I had forgotten it 🙂 The last times I was reborn on the coast, however, I didn't notice... maybe it's still not enough. With this latest increase in the aggressiveness, attention and power / endurance of the new Zs, I'm afraid, it will be much worse, especially if you just have to punch them down... But even with sidearms it doesn't change as much from punching alone and it's almost impossible if you can't find a solitary one (at spawn points?) and you don't have enough bandages available. Now that I am fully equipped and have a small base as a support, with the 1.12 I carefully avoid any Z, and if I have to make "movement space" I try to kill from a distance with a gun (a "disposable" , because they are consumed as if they were paper mache... in the face of "realism" 😦 ). A newborn and without weapons certainly cannot rely on the loot of the Z, on the contrary... he must avoid them as much as possible and look only for the houses and sheds. As always, these programmers brag a lot, declare some good and logical things, then do other damage, other flaws and other bullshit that spoils everything or makes useless the few good things they have done. I, after the last Wipe, I built only one character in official servers... the "Veteran" ones, which I did not understand because a few years ago they divided the hives from those of BI... however, so, I have available 2 other different characters that you can "build". Probably, in a while, I will try to create one in the official BI HC servers (with only the first person), and we will see what difficulties I will find in reborn on the coast in this new 1.12. In case I will come back to update my opinions about food and the difficulty in finding it as a "new born"... but consider that I am not really a rookie, I have my own personal server, I know well the "*.xml" files and I almost 1500 hours of gameplay. Certainly for me it will be a little "less difficult" than a "simple" player with a few hours of play... but then again... it's just a game. The "official" version should be a "good compromise" between "ease for all" and "fun for all". And I underline the concept "FOR EVERYONE", not only for the experts and for the "all difficult and all mangy" fanatics: for the latter there are mods. My 5 cents, of course. (*) Whether more realistic or not there would be a lot to discuss and I have read all the colors ... and even the programmers "combine" all the colors, and I have not yet understood if "officially" this game has the claim to look realistic or not I honestly think not, given the amount of absurdity and unrealism deliberately done by these programmers ... but I still read about some players quietly discussing various aspects of the game if they are more or less adherent to reality ... But when ever in DayZ? ! ? it is a whole jumble of absurdities and various unrealisms "passed off" for "game balance". The "disgrace" is that it is still a very fun game and it also creates a "certain addiction". The best choice would be to stop permanently or find a more serious and realistic alternative. as I see it, of course 😉

    The point that few consider is that the spawn of objects, all... including food... is decided in a "fixed" way by the *.xml files of the servers. It does NOT depend on how many people enter and / or take those things. This is why someone could find a lot of food, if everyone who has passed before was not needed, or it has been a long time since anyone has been there. Conversely, if a server is heavily populated, or if some "hungry" players have been in that place, you won't find anything at all. This is what happens, it depends on the game's spawn system. There is little to do. Either a dynamic system is implemented that takes into account the number of players who enter, in what conditions they are, how hungry they are, etc... and the food spawn is adjusted accordingly... or you can just imagine that there will certainly be more need on the coast for the new born and it increases a little. Only those who are already equipped go north and you can decrease a little, but you cannot exceed them, because they are "statistical" estimates that could be disregarded. Honestly, I don't see any other way, and... since I have also a personal opinion. Me too, now that I am equipped because I have been playing for a while and I have one my own base in the north (in the official server), I feel no particular need food and I have made a small supply of boxes according to need. But it is also true that, as soon as I was born, I really found many difficulties, and this time (born with 1.11, after the wipe) I found many difficulties with food to start this character. And I also choose low pop servers, but that does not mean "desert", nor that it is my personal server and that no one enters it that I have not invited. Evidently I was born in a place already looted and it was hard to get by. So I understand both those who complain about "too little food" (often it is), and those who complain about "too much food" (it may even seem that way)... the point is that programmers must consider the needs of ALL players, new and old, experienced and inexperienced, equipped and not equipped, and find a compromise on that. With this 1.12 they increased food on the coast and spawn points and decreased in the north. This is what they could do without completely changing the whole object spawn system... there are so many old and major repairs they should do and I believe they will never do... I don't think they will completely change the "static system spawn" to implement a "dynamic" one... and then can you imagine the defects, problems and bugs... that they will probably NEVER fix?     Plants no longer grow

    OK ... I discovered the problem with the plants. They simply grow, wither, die and disappear all within 1 or 2 hours. Another one of the many bullshit these programmers have done to ruin this game. I've never seen such a thing, and I'm more surprised that I haven't read anything about it yet ... Nobody who plants vegetables? All alone looking for weapons to exterminate each other? Or are plantations used only in modded servers? I play on official servers and have been building a small gated base lately. Inside I cultivated a little and everything worked as it should. How as in reality happens (more or less). You dig the earth, you put the seed, you water (or you wait for the rain: on Cernarus it almost always rains) and you wait for the plant to grow ... when it has grown you reap the fruits. And the plant continues to live and bear fruit, like ALL normal crops. In case you have to fight with pests and diseases, but NOT with "ghost plants". I really hope it's a bug, otherwise it's just another evidence of how much BI programmers hate this game or the players who use it. 😞 If I don't find it already done, as soon as I have some time, I'll open a ticket on purpose ... and let's see the answer.

    But really not at all. I have been playing since 1.07 and since I did some practice (maybe from 1.08) I have always run crouched and just turn around and NO ONE sees or hears you. And if I wanted to kill them, I would come from behind them always running crouched and took them from behind, even close enough to other infected ones. The only difference was the ax which, with updates, was reduced as damage. But if you ran crouched you always ran away and no one saw you. If by chance you alerted someone, just stop and, remaining crouched, they calmed down And this until 1.11. Now, with 1.12, they hear you right away and see you from a distance, even if you are crouched and still ... and they attack you. They run faster, I have a lot of difficulty locking them up in houses or sheds, and if you try to get to them from behind, you have to do it from afar (otherwise they see you) and do it slowly (otherwise they hear you) ... and from crouching you are very slow, almost as much as an infected and reaching him has become a challenge if you don't run ... but if you run they hear you. By now the surprise silent attack from behind hardly works anymore ... either you shoot him in the head from a house, or from a distance if you can, or you have to attack him directly and suffer a lot more and plan to take a lot more damage and bleeding. The silent attack has NOT been improved but WORSE ... and by a lot. And the fact that, IF you can silently reach him from the back (much harder now), you can kill him with a single blow of the knife ... is irrelevant, as it has become a very rare event to do. It was 1000 times better before. And it was also more realistic, if anyone cares (I have read some comments, but too few) ... I would like to see any living thing, infected or not, withstand 5, 6, 7 blows of the ax or accept, violent or not. .. and keep attacking. An absurd thing. They keep finding every way to ruin this beautiful game, as if it didn't already have enough flaws that have never been fixed forever ... I just hope, sooner or later, someone will write a decent alternative ... and given how DayZ is doing, it wouldn't take long. Many modders who write on DayZ surely could do better ...

    Now even when you are crouched they can see you even from a distance and if you try to get closer, even from the back and crouched, they hear you immediately. What happened to the silent back attack? What's the point of being able to kill them with a single blow to the back if you can't even get close to crouching? Then they always give you damage and bleeding ... and not even an ax is of any use ... but what kind of infected are these? Cyborg? The new update of the fighting with the infected is absurd, it was 1000 times better before. This last one is such a crap 😞 P.S. To me they no longer grow up plants ...

    @McWendy I've seen it before but, if I'm not mistaken, it's only in 3rd person and that's something I hate. Even DayZ, at first, I was doubtful whether to try it or not because it ALSO had the 3rd person, but verified that it was also possible to play in 1st person, when I found it on offer I decided to try it anyway. I always play ONLY in 1st, except rare occasions when I have to maneuver in reverse with the cars (mainly in my server or modded. I have only recently had 2 cars in a vanilla public) or when I have to place some object on the floor and the "ghost of the encumbrance" is not clearly visible in 1st. Only a few rare times, in dangerous situations, have I used the 3rd person to look over some wall or fence... and it has always ruined the dive and given me the bad feeling of using "illegal tricks", even if it is the game that it's like that... but since everyone can do it, sometimes I have allowed it to myself... but I don't like it. In the HC servers I feel better, I don't use the cars anyway, and I manage with the objects in some way In these games (FPS basically) I always want to impersonate a character and think that I am personally in that situation... and I can only do that in 1st person. The 3rd person view does not allow me to identify with the character and it seems to play with toy soldiers, like when I was a child. I do not like. This 3rd person, for me, is a sufficient condition to discard any game. Thanks for tips, anyway 😉

    But can you really find such shit in DayZ ? ! ? 😮 😕 And do you enjoy this dung ? 😧 You should change your game, with so many absurd fantasy games with flying dragons, gnomes, wizards, witches, ghosts and ectoplasms of various kinds... which have NOTHING to do with the "likely pandemic" that is the subject of DayZ. Already this game is unfortunate in its own right, for how badly written and poorly managed... without listing all the flaws it has (and not all by mistake, some are just deliberate beyond all logic), but we also want to put the flying unicorns, since we don't have helicopters? it would be fun... surely someone would enjoy fluttering in the clouds riding a flying unicorn... and what about cars that run badly? maybe a giant caterpillar to bring many players around the map, could that be an idea? I found videos of the experimental and someone who claimed that it was in play in the stable... but I'm not sure yet that it also remained in the stable... Anyway I think of all those who have complained, over the course of the various updates (myself included), and have never pulled a spider out of the hole... and with each update we must continue to see stupid and useless additions, some minor tweaks... but the really serious ones are always present (flying cars, disappearing objects, glitches of various kinds, frequent desynchronization, and others that I don't remember now) and often something else is always broken, so much so that now I see the new updates as "disasters announced" (and regularly do I have confirmation). Probably many people have resigned themselves to having this potentially very beautiful game in "constant disaster". And of the bulk of the players, I'm afraid, they don't give a damn... I know many who buy games like bread... they play a little and get bored immediately, and so on with another one. For these, surely, even the flying unicorn and the giant caterpillar are fine... and BI is fine as well, so much the aficionados have already paid... 😕 Dunno...     After the 1.11 Update My Character Deleted!

    This is yet another demonstration that they are incapable of decently fixing a game. Like when a PC crashes without being able to save the work started and you have to shut down and restart losing everything. It is the most striking failure of the company that wrote that software. By now we know that DayZ has this kind of developers, I really hope they give the game to someone else, who will certainly do better. If they gave it away to some of the modders who modify this game, if already so (some) do some excellent work, I imagine if they could get their hands in the code of the game.     Power of Admin in private server, how?

    I've seen admins do a little bit of everything on private servers, spawn where they and the players want, spawn whatever they want, and even fix the health and blood of the players. Instead the cars, completely rusted with the parts to be used also completely rusted, seem to imply that the pandemic began many decades ago. But all food and medicines (no more products) should all be expired already. it's all an opposite of everything ... here it's all absurd. Sin. I really like this game, but the further it goes the more patches they add, the worse it seems to be. This 1.10 has broken the behavior of the cars more than the previous ones that I have seen (game from 1.07). I really don't know where we're going to end up. Perhaps hope that BI sells the game to some more "serious" company that actually fixes the game without adding anything, and the Modders for what it takes in the game.
