I understand that my English is bad since I have to use Google, but ... yours is not an answer. Insult or, as you do, "denigrate" the interlocutor is the weapon of those who have no arguments to challenge. It is not the way to discuss regardless of the topic. ๐คจ

Sorry but I didn't understand a tube of what you wrote. Keep in mind that I don't know English and I have to use Google. "Balance The Loot" with infected areas? what does it mean ? The balancing you get by modifying the "types.xml" file not upset the game with bullshit. "High-level zones with military loot" is "End Game"? How "End Game".... there is no "End Game" until you die ... it's a pandemic survival game, and if you survive the game never ends, and the "real victory" to this game is just DON'T die and build an increasingly equipped base to experience more and more comfortably and calm... This is the real victory at this game. The end is only when you die or someone destroy your base and you have to start everything again. Then, after all you wrote I didn't understand anything. It's as if we were talking about 2 different games ...

I know it sounds silly to ask this after 2000 hours of play, but it has never really interested me until now and with google I found several different opinions, probably because they referred over time to different versions of the game... or also, quite simply, different opinions. However the question is this: In this version 1.13, the rainwater collected with a barrel left open can be direct drinking? That is, without having to use pills or boil it? Thanks

Yes, ok ... A virus of its kind doesn't make any sense, but being a video game you have to be "a little tolerant", but here we have been exaggerating too much for a long time. Otherwise, if everything becomes lawful just because "it's a video game", then I put back the "lightsabers", "the aliens who kidnap random players" and the "flying pink unicorns". The real skill in writing a video game is not only in the simple "writing without defects", but also in imagining it and making it fun but at the same time "possible for most" (perhaps with scalable difficulty so as not to bore anyone) and "plausible in the context of same". DayZ is a failed game in all contexts. Its only luck is that it still remains a lot of fun and exciting... and it seems to me that, at the moment, it is unrivaled in this field... but the constantly increasing "annoyance" of its countless bugs and its (equally) countless "nonsense" is increasingly increasing the "weight" in the balance of "negative evaluations". Sooner or later, with this bad habit, the time will come when the scales will hang on the side of "close the game" or "change the game". ๐

Yes, if the game would be set a few weeks after the pandemic... but then the already rusty cars wouldn't make sense. This game does NOT make any sense... it is haphazard... this is one of its main flaws! Perhaps even more so than the bugs themselves, which are annoying anyway. But the fact that the game has no sense of logic and chronological time, in my opinion, is its biggest flaw and also the most annoying. ๐ง

An area in its own right, like an ex-military depot exploded would make sense, but "normal" parts of the map that suddenly plague NO... it makes no sense. How are they supposed to be infested? Did citizens keep gas cylinders in the basements of their houses? What does it mean ?!? It has the same sense as the farts of the flying pink unicorn... And... Who should bomb Chernarus? The aliens ? Another part of humanity left out of the pandemic? (why not send help, rather?) Is a galactic bullshit that's why I gave the example of the aliens... usual bullshit of this game. Then, if he bombs Chernarus, it will be to kill the infected, not to kill the survivors, I hope... In the plagued areas the infected will all be dead, I hope... or the bullshit gets bigger. AND... The mere fact that there is something in the game that has not been used for some time does not necessarily imply that something has to be done later... that makes no logical sense. I still see that in this forum there is still a small group of aficionados who always justify these programmers whatever they do... what are you, relatives, friends or do you take a percentage on sales? I hope at least that in the plagued areas the infected will all be dead... And the sense of bombing Chernarus is precisely to kill the infected, otherwise it is just a absurd illogical nonsense just to make the game more annoying unnecessarily... here is the sense of the light saber and the alien spaceship... and I would add also the "old" flying pink unicorn... But already knowing the game (and who writes/manages it), I would not be surprised that the infected in the contaminated areas will not only be alive and well, but maybe even a little more resistant and strong... just so as not to deny the will... DO NOT do something right and logical, but something stupid and absurd... as too often in this game, which makes it worse with each patch. Like the absurd and annoying rays of the Sun... Backpacks that cannot be stored full... Fences that can only be planted on perfectly flat land... Tents that can only be set up on perfectly flat ground... Construction (fences, observation towers, etc.) that cannot be planted well side by side, but far from each other... And many other small and big shit done deliberately... NOT bugs! ๐คฌ Two specific questions: * - Is there a map with the fixed areas covered by the infestation? * - If I have a fixed base and I get the plagued bullet... what should I do? Quit the game and wait? How many ? But does all this make sense? Is all this really funny to you? In my opinion it could have made sense only if they had added a separate area where to implement this plagued area... maybe an abandoned military ex-depot that, with time and neglect, could have exploded and plagued the area... and they could add some exclusive special loot... but so widely for the map, with no logical sense it's just another absurd and pain in the ass bullshit... as usual, sadly... Also for this reason I always read with terror and horror every news about new patches... they fix something but break something else... and they add (except in rare cases: the Desert Eagle) always bullshit and/or useless things. This time, I fear, they surpassed themselves in absurd and unnecessarily annoying things... Anyway, I'll download the experimental one and try a few games... since we'll all have to finish there anyway, except to permanently close the game, or have the money to dedicate a fixed PC to keep a modded (logical) version of the game online.

My baby doll must have gotten a tapeworm because he ate a whole cow and was still hungry. Only after a few more cans did he finally get his fill. And that's not all, after a few hours of play (almost 2 days in game) he quietly ate 1 wolf, and only with the second he was satisfied again. He definitely got a tapeworm. How do you care that I can't find the page on WikiDayZ? P.S. I hope the irony has been caught... ๐คจ

Premised that, for those who have never read me, I also have a vanilla server of mine where I delight to edit XML files to adapt it to my needs and looking for more realism (I haven't tried any MOD yet, I'll do it as soon as I find some of time for this) and... of course... having increased the number of events and being able to drive safely, I have found many Heli-Crashes over time, the most common points I know well (and all the others can be found on iZurvive, however) and the streets of greater "frequency"... then that the European ones "smoke", while the Russian ones do not... and I have a well-stocked base of all kinds of military booty. The "problem" is in public servers, where the loot is the "standard" one. I have over 1000 hours of gameplay on public servers, both of the B.I. (normal and HC) and in those "Public/Veteran" of GameServers.com (always public vanilla). I've been driving around for a few months and only in the latter which are fairly sparsely populated... but not as "easy" as in my server, of course. But... despite over 1000 hours of gameplay... Heli-Crash never even one. How do you find them? Just luck or do you have any particular technique? Any suggestions ? Thanks

Perhaps the "old" now know that complaining doesn't change anything and have lost the desire to do so? ๐ฆ
-
Of course I like to have fun, but I have another idea of what "fun" is or isn't in a game that "should" be about survival against a pandemic and, often, even claims some "realism" (which in reality too often is just the opposite... and it should be under everyone's eyes). If you look for all my posts in this forum you can get an idea about it, I don't rewrite everything because it would take hours and nobody would read everything ๐

It is something that does not make sense and is not even balanced. The real damage to a game is NOT when some weapon is very powerful.... but when it is "lockable" for the exclusive benefit of one or a few players. This is what unbalances the game. If you allow one or a few to hoard and block the entire economy of the game to their exclusive advantage (by exploiting those flags) this is a real damage to the game. Is it possible that no one understands it? It is 1000 times better that EVERYONE has an M4 than ONLY one (or a group / clan) and can dominate a server. One thing is the "rare" equipment where few specimens are born and you have to struggle a lot to find it... but once found and taken, they are reborn indefinitely for all... this is fine (NVG, for example), another is the "impossible" equipment where few specimens are already born, but someone can completely block the birth of others... this is BAD! Under these conditions it is better not to put anything and at least all players return fairly even. I still think this game is very poorly written and even worse handled... ๐ About the SK. I don't know if anything has changed to 7.62x39 with 1.13, my latest tests concern 1.12, and was 5.56x45 quite more powerful, for this... except for other specific needs (but I believe that in this case things are coincident), the M4 is definitely better and since the SK and AKM use the same cartridges, but the AKM has magazines and suppressors, I would NEVER throw an AKM for an SK: it makes no sense. least of all an M4 for a SK. And I think very few are also looking for it, in recent days, that I'm trying to build a couple of characters on as many public vanilla servers, of AKM or M4 not even the shadow, instead I find tons of SK and many M16... that obviously nobody wants. And in this case I agree, I always skip them too, I much prefer an AK74U, rather. P.S. We already have VSD, FAL and VSS which are very rare (in + 1000 hours on vanilla servers I have never seen a Heli-Crash) and can be blocked with those "criminal" flags ... so OP ... why block also these "classic" machine guns ? ๐ These are real discrimination allowed between players. ๐
-
Roughly I agree, however, there is a factor that perhaps you have not considered: the suppressors for pistol (which go on the MP5/UMP) are found without major problems, the suppressors for AKM/M4 are very rare and at risk of "extinction" (see the flag "count_in_cargo" & "count_in_hoarder"). This might make people prefer a "silenced" MP5/UMP to a "NOT silenced" AKM/M4 even for those who want to "hunt humans" but want to do it silently and not start an "open war". Only one point of view, I don't go hunting for humans, I avoid all possible human contacts and choose weapons with other criteria... but... I almost always have an MP5 first, and I often find first some suppressor for add... later, over time, I also find an AK74U, which is NOT my favorite shotgun, but it is always a better caliber... but I can't "throw" a silenced machine gun for a NON silenced one. And so both remain: MP5 to be used and the AK74U waiting for a suppressor that, often, never comes... Then, sometimes, I also find an AKM (very rarely an M4), but much more rarely also a suppressor... and the MP5 stays in my backpack because it continues to be the only suppressed machine gun I have. The NOT suppressed AKM/M4 remains as a last resort anti-bear, but if I have to defend myself from a human, I would always take the suppressed MP5 in order not to attract ยฝ map of Z and passing humans, even at the cost of having to use a few shots in more. Subjective tactical choices ๐

When are helicopters in the game? Vanilla
Riddick_2K replied to Raptor97's topic in General Discussion
In DayZ we already have flying vehicles... there is the "Ada 4x4" Fighter, the "Olga 24" Fighter Bomber and the "Sarka 120" Scout... then there is the "M3S" High Altitude Bomber... ๐คฃ The only problem is that after take off they become unpilotable. The B.I. should add parachutes to be able to use them. ๐ -
I don't know if it's a Google translation problem, but the AK74U is an assault rifle, not a carbine... and it's not to be despised even if it's the smallest of the brood. You can keep it inside the backpack, instead of the MP5, without occupying the slots in the back and without being noticed and with its 5.45x39 you can take out a bear with 17/24 shots, which with the 7.62x39 of the AKM you need 16/24... practically irrelevant difference... at least in my experience. The only real problem is that they are rare bullets to find and only in military areas, while the 7.62x39 of the AKM can be found almost everywhere, because it is considered hunting ammunition. And it is not something to be underestimated. And for me who don't use Russian optics (I don't like them) and I don't do anything as a "sniper", I prefer the short version to the long one. AND... The real "hoarder problem" is that these programmers have put these 2 flags "count_in_cargo" & "count_in_hoarder" which are the real culprits for the absence of certain weapons. It is these 2 flags that block the respawn of certain weapons even if they are only deposited or hidden by someone... and considering that their number is very limited, just one player is enough to find an M4 with Suppressor, duplicate another 7 and hide them and in that server you will NEVER see any M4 and any Standardized Suppressor again (for this last the maximum is 5, not 8). Same goes for the AKM and the Normalized Suppressor This is the real problem, which these programmers don't understand and/or never play this game. As I have already written several times it seems that they hate this game or its players... for how they are handling it.
-
Let's just hope it's not some other bullshit like eggs catches AI, or if they just can't resist... at least they are events limited to certain specific dates, like witch fires. This game is getting worse and I tremble with each release of a new patch... these premises worry me a lot. P.S. When will we be able to see a parachute to be able to use the vehicles with a little more safety? This would be a nice surprise to find in this new patch ๐

Infected passing through the walls of the Vybor Airfield hangars
Riddick_2K posted a topic in General Discussion
Has anyone noticed that the infected can pass through the walls of the hangars of the main Vybor airport... which should also be underground? It has happened to me a few times already, too bad I don't have the opportunity to make videos. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a known bug? If I have no other feedback I would try to open a tickets, but without video I don't know... other times I have opened tickets to the support of the B.I. but often they didn't even answer me... -
Maybe he wrong the game... Can I suggest trying Battlefield (4 or 1... forget 5) if you want a more "simple" game or ArmA3 if you want a more "complex" game?
-
It doesn't seem to me that the NVG is so "OP", the night vision alone, not infrared... none of you (who complain is Over Power) play another war FPS? And even non-war... in Battlefield Hardline, which is a "Guards vs. Thieves" in an urban / civil environment, there is both "night vision" and "infrared". You know it and you adapt... it's a feature of the game. Complaining does not seem very rational to me, even if in this forum, at least, I have also read rational objections (you should try Battlefield for a certain number of hours and see how many "babies" cry for each type of weapon/device... always accusing those who uses to be "noob", shotgun, C4, Claymore, bipod, FLIR, etc... it is a particular category which would have to open a special post). But to return to the subject... A couple of notes: *) If we were talking about an "infrared", since it "should not" be a war game (but in fact too often it is!), I would agree... but a simple night vision? What does it bother you? Are you afraid of being seen by someone you don't see? It means that he is smarter and you have to learn a little more game... or get yourself an NVG, if you consider it so "relevant". Personally, I would have no problems even with an "infrared", it is a used military object, in this game you also loot military equipment... it would be logical to have this too. *) An object CANNOT be OP if everyone can have it, and the NVGs are NOT as rare as it is believed, in fact on the map there are always at least 3! And they ONLY count on the map, that is... as soon as a player takes one (whether you use it or store it or hide it, it DOES NOT count), it is missing on the map and the game prepares to spawn another one as soon as there is a slot ( and there are always free slots... then the defects of the game, even the spawn of the objects, we all know, but that's another matter). You just need to know how to find them and get busy with a little patience and perseverance. To me, on public vanilla servers, it has happened many times to find 2 or 3 of them... and just have to throw them away. Then, those who have been playing for a long time know it... you go as for the "clearance sale" of shops or supermarkets: sometimes you don't find what you are looking for even after hours and hours of play... then, suddenly, you get 4, 5, or more objects of the same type at the same time and all very close... unfortunately this is DayZ too. What "should spawn" according to the appropriate file is one thing... what actually spawns in the game is quite another thing. Just a stupid example: on my vanilla server, where I always play alone and I'm sure NO ONE gets their hands in it, I found civilian items spawned in military areas (and it is NOT my modification). Evidently a game anomaly... Below I add the NVG string of the file "types.xml" v. 1.13 <type name="NVGoggles"> <nominal>5</nominal> <lifetime>28800</lifetime> <restock>3600</restock> <min>3</min> <quantmin>-1</quantmin> <quantmax>-1</quantmax> <cost>100</cost> <flags count_in_cargo="0" count_in_hoarder="0" count_in_map="1" count_in_player="0" crafted="0" deloot="0"/> <category name="weapons"/> <usage name="Military"/> <value name="Tier3"/> <value name="Tier4"/> </type> *) Regarding the previous point ... What is really "OP" are the special weapons, with more than good characteristics (FAL, SVD, VSS) that someone extremely lucky can get and ALL the others CANNOT! These are "OP" weapons, but not so much for their characteristics, but for the fact that they are extremely rare. At the moment I have 1930 hours of play with DayZ, 799 hours of which on my personal server... so surely 1131 hours done on populated servers. I played some community servers, but not much... I don't like servers full of mods, it's not DayZ anymore... I don't know how many hours exactly, but I don't think more than 200/250 hours (esteem in excess). I have at least 880 hours left for Vanilla servers. Well... I've NEVER seen a Heli-Crash. Some Police-Crash (very poor loot), but never a Heli... and the western ones can also be seen from afar because of the smoke. On my personal server I have seen a lot of them, of course... I drive around quietly and I have increased the number... but in the Vanilla ones... ๐ And I imagine that, like when I found a crashed helicopter in MY server and inside I found only jackets, pants, and some sights... so much so that to find some good weapons I had to increase the number of these too... the same thing will happen on the Heli-Crash in public server vanilla: very difficult to find one and when you find it, only jackets, pants and some viewfinder... ๐ THIS is what I mean "OP" Even worse if you frequent the servers of "cheaters" or "dupers"... Since these weapons are not only very rare, but also count on the player, in cargo and in hoarder. ๐ Basically, the first one who manages to find one... and it is already a very very rare event... just duplicate 3/4 copies hides them and in that server NEVER spawn even one copy: END. This I consider "OP", and is a specific choice of these (pseudo) programmers when they implemented the "cargo" & "hoarder" flags for use on rare items. IF the game was perfect and NOT plagued by cheaters and dupers, it could go (and I don't like the concept of "very rare weapons" anyway: it's discriminatory towards players. Difficult to obtain, okay, but absolutely not rare.) But since the game is POLLUTED with cheaters and dupers... and the B.I. seems unable to solve the problem, at least remove these 2 flags that spoil the spoils in the servers. But... I don't think they understand the problem... in my opinion they don't even really play DayZ... otherwise they would never have done some bullshit and some would already know it without the need for feedback reports... which often do not read / reply Anyway ๐ *) I also, often, go out by night... especially if I don't have an NVG yet. But sometimes even with him, if I don't have to do something specific or continue what I was doing. Of course it's a good tool that allows you to keep playing even at night if you need it. Otherwise there are 2 cases: 1) Normal Servers: Yes, nights are at least "visible", and some full moon nights are just great to see... even just finding a vantage point and enjoying the view (they remind me of certain clear and full moon nights when I was still going to the woods in the mountains or to the Karst behind my city, both for hiking/camping and for caving... they were really fantastic nights... only the smell of the forest or flowers is missing if in spring / summer ) I have read, in other places, that some people complain that it is too bright and unrealistic: false. That one never walked around in the meadows and mountains on a full moon. Then it can be argued that the Moon is not always full: right. And that with the clouds there is still too much light: right. But it's DayZ... it's anything but realistic / working. And anyway it is not very easy to move and fight the infected... with the NVG it is certainly better. It is NOT "OP", it is just a good and useful tool. 2) Server HC: Here the nights are exaggeratedly black... you can NOT see a palm from your nose, and the chemical lights are simply ridiculous, you need at least a street torch... but that makes you a target hundreds of meters away... In DayZ it is simply impossible, or if you prefer... unplayable. And... that ambient brightness that revolves around you like a "magical aura" is simply ridiculous and annoying. These servers, in my opinion, are NOT usable if you don't have an NVG. Here, until I find it, I only do the days... always and without exception, since it becomes risky even to cross the street in the city when the server is deserted, because you risk bumping into an infected just because you don't have it seen before... Absurd! An exaggerated black! If they removed the NVGs in these servers I would not enter them anymore, because playing always and only in fits and starts to get the days and skip the nights would only bother me.

If you mean improvised shelters, made with sticks and tarps or leather or branches, yes: the term is always 7 days. This is the code of the last "types.xml" of the 1.13 of the leather shelter, but it is also the same for the other 2: <type name="ShelterLeather"> <nominal>0</nominal> <lifetime>604800</lifetime> <restock>0</restock> <min>0</min> <quantmin>-1</quantmin> <quantmax>-1</quantmax> <cost>100</cost> <flags count_in_cargo="0" count_in_hoarder="0" count_in_map="1" count_in_player="0" crafted="1" deloot="0"/> <category name="containers"/> </type>

Well... Given that I bought (and play) DayZ for survival against the infected and NOT to fight humans (for this I have Battlefield which is better because it's done on purpose... and it's not even that full of defects ๐ ), so all my tests were done against the Zs, wolves and bears. That are my real "antagonists". Then it is true that we must also defend ourselves, but I always hope that the results are always in proportion... also because, at the moment, I would not even have the possibility of having a "character" up which do the tests. However... Regarding the difference between UMP and MP5 as "anti-wolf" (for bears not even a whole 30 magazine is enough) I had done some tests before the introduction of the D-Eeagle, which with its .357 is unbeatable as a personal defense, pity they reduced it... but it's still a good caliber. Then... With the MP5 and its 9x16 it took 5 shots to kill a wolf... exaggerated and absurd, like so many things in DayZ: - / With the UMP and its .45 ACP it took 4 shots to kill a wolf... even this exaggerated and absurd, but you had to imagine it. And considering that: The 9x19 is quite common a little everywhere. The .45 ACP is rare and found only in military areas. The shot difference to kill a wolf is minimal and I wouldn't trust doing it with just a gun, even if it was a CZ-75 with 15 shots. In theory you could kill 3 wolves and make the others flee... but if you miss a single shot, and I... despite having killed dozens of them at this point, when I have to fight them I'm always a little "agitated" and not all shots go hit... but now I only use the D-Eagle, and now 2 is enough, not 5 or 4. For the above, I always take an MP5, which is much more widespread and the munitions are found almost everywhere. If I really have to go to military areas and look for more "rare" weapons, surely my choice goes "beyond" the UMP, at least an AKS-74U that with its "small" 5.45x39 can still be right even with a bear . And in any case, you must always consider that DayZ is anything but a "realistic game"... it looks like "the festival of the absurd". You don't have to pay attention to the image of the object thinking (hoping) that it "simulates the real object": it does not exist in DayZ. Here it is all absurd, done to the "dick of dog" and "passed off" as "realistic" or "adapted to the game". But it's all rhetoric passed off by these (pseudo) programmers who from what I've seen in the course of my experience in DayZ: either they hate the game... or they hate its players... because most of the bullshit in the game is NOT bugs but "deliberate choices" ๐ Therefore, in DayZ, ALL .22, .38, 9x19 & .45 caliber weapons can ONLY be used to kill Zs with a headshot, considering that Pistol Suppressors are quite findable. For wolves, get yourself a Desert Eagle which with its .357 is fantastic, 1 dry shot was enough, but it has been reduced and now you need 2. Always a good self defense weapon, and with the suppressors is quite silent. For the bears, which I have tried for a long time, both in my personal server, and with the Arkensor MOD to do the various tests... NOTE: I did NOT have time to try 1.13, these results refer to 1.12 (and it's an average of many similar tests below) The best caliber of all is definitely 7.62x54: kill a bear between 2 and 5 shots, depending on where you get it Then the 9x39 AP, serving 4 dry shots Then the 9x39, which serve between 4 and 5... NOTE: I have found that the VSS wears out faster than the SVD. Then the 12 with buckshots, between 4 and 6 shots Then the 12 with slugs, between 6 and 8 shots NOTE: With a Saiga you go of measurement with the 8 magazine (better with buckshots for safety ๐), now that the 20 one is nowhere to be found. Then the .308, between 8 and 10 shots NOTE: The only noteworthy weapon with the .308 is the FAL, which is unobtainable, too bad you only mount the Improvised Supressor which is crap that lasts almost nothing. Then the .357, between 9 and 10 shots NOTE: With 1.12 you could kill a bear even with only one magazine ... now it has been reduced (a lot it seems) and I would no longer go to bears with only a D-Eagle... ๐ Then the others to decrease... 5.56x54: between 10 and 22 7.62x39: between 16 and 24 5.45x39: between 17 and 24 I also tried with the 9x19, but you need at least 41 shots... unthinkable to go to bears ๐ ALL this on an original vanilla server with 1.12. I know that the .357 has been reduced, I don't know about other ammunition. I just hope that the damage produced by the various hits is anyway "proportional" both on the various animals and on the infected and on humans, since I have no way of trying in a "test" situation on human players. Furthermore, humans have many more "variables" that animals do not have. But for the infected there are military ones with a bulletproof vest (the one with the plates) and military helmets, which can be used for testing. But I still haven't had time to try everything again with 1.13 In my opinion, however, the general concept remains that: *) ALL "minor" shots .22, .38, 9x19 & .45 can ONLY be used to kill Zs with a headshot, considering that pistol suppressors are quite findable. *) The .357 is great for wolves and as an extreme self defense (I always look for a silenced D-Eagle that I keep in the main holster) *) All other shots can also go for bears... and who does PvP for humans as well... but the "problem" of silencers (or, more exactly, "suppressors") remains, which are rare and not always usable. This is why I always try to find at least: *) A MKII like "anti-Z", not very common but not rare either, and the .22 boxes, also quite common, contain 50 rounds. Excellent against the infected, from hidden, with the classic "blow to the head" (this only from 1.13, before 1 single shot would not have been enough; in fact before I didn't even consider it) *) A D-Eagle as an "anti-wolf" and extreme personal defense... walking around the cities it is not very difficult to find one, the suppressors as well... the box of rounds are quite rare, but with a little patience 2 or 3 is not impossible, and it's always 40-60 shots. To defend himself from wolves and in case of "emergency" he can go. *) An MP5, as the first submachine gun. Easy to find and refuel... but to be replaced as soon as possible with a more "serious" one in a larger caliber. Generally, if I find I prefer a classic AKM in 7.62x39: good caliber and very common everywhere because it is considered "hunting caliber" (you don't have to look for it in military areas). The real problem is finding a suppressor, otherwise it becomes really difficult to use the weapon. And even with a specific suppressor, if you shoot, it doesn't silence much... because it attracts a fair number of infected in the area. It's not like guns, which hardly anyone hears. In my experience, probably because many prefer Western weapons and its suppressors "fly off the shelf", with difficulty but I can find the suppressors for AKM, but hardly ever those for M4. Obviously only on sparsely populated servers. I don't think I even need to write it. A FAL or a VSS or a VSD, on a public server, I have never even seen ... and in any case, on a public server, I have never even seen a "heli-crash". For all of the above, and to conclude... I really don't understand the UMP "problem". They are fundamentally useless weapons, due to the rarity of finding, the rarity (and danger) of supply and the substantial uselessness of the caliber used. And I don't even understand many of the disquisitions on the various "flaws" of the various calibers, making comparisons with the "real world"... WHEN EVER DayZ was done in a realistic way?!? It's all a fake, absurd and grotesque world... with very little relevance to the "real world"... and I'm not talking about the infected and the pandemic, of course, which is the "fulcrum of the game"... but some objects, too the most banal, it is almost always with characteristics or behaviors that NOTHING have to do with the "real world" and often "justified" with "adaptations to a virtual game world". FALSE ! Indeed often quite the opposite. I don't want to go to OT, but just remember the idiotic characteristics of the cars (I'm not talking about bugs, but the power, the gears, the grip of the wheels uphill, etc... all things done on purpose, NOT defects), the backpacks to be emptied to deposit, the tents made increasingly difficult to assemble, the fences that can only be mounted on the flat and not not well placed side by side, the fires that cannot be done in a forest and under 5 meters of the ceiling, and many other bullshit made on purpose , NOT flaws !!!!! DayZ is a damn fun game with enormous potential, but if you hope to see it "running seriously" on a vanilla server run by B.I. you will die of old age but you will NEVER see it! I'm sorry to say, because I don't like modded servers (too full of bullshit, is no longer played at DayZ), but the only hope of seeing a "serious" and "almost realistic" DayZ is just to set up a personal server and put in the "right mods". Is the only way... Then it is still useful to discuss the various "faults" or "features" of the game in the forum... but NEVER hope to see a "serious and realistic" DayZ on a public vanilla server: YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT! And, I'm afraid, these (pseudo) programmers will continue to add bullshit, fix some little things, ruin other good and useful things and "peddle rhetoric" in the foruns where people argue and (rightly) complain. Until it is definitively abandoned. For that time, however, these (pseudo) programmers could do the best move of their life: give the game to the community of modders, so that they continue it. In this case it could really make a qualitative leap... but it will depend on who gets their hands on it, because I've seen good modders with good ideas and "poor" modders with "bullshit" in mind. I'd be really curious to see it, anyway.

As far as I can see, with rare exceptions, the majority of players have not yet understood that the only way to "hope" to get away with it... meanwhile DO NOT RUN!... already over 50/60 km/h it is at "risk"... as soon as the car wobbles you have to SLOW DOWN immediately... if the car starts hopping or you see some "video missing" (such as stutter), you must immediately BRAKE!, turn off the engine and put in neutral and... to hope. If the car has stopped and it is quiet, it would be anyway better to get out for a while. If the car has stopped but still hopping... you NEED to go out and wait a little longer. Thus I, both in my personal server, both in the community ones, and, lately, also in the vanilla ones (always low population, of course, or I don't even consider the cars a usable option), it always worked out fine for me... only in my personal server, where I immediately used cars a lot, I broke some cars, but always for video blocks of a few seconds and then the "awakening" inside a wall or on a pole. But I have never died... and at the moment I have not yet seen a car fly. This, from what I understand, should mostly depend on the amount of players present on a server. OBVIOUSLY, this does not dispute how bad the cars are in DayZ, nor does it exempt these (pseudo) programmers from their responsibilities... however, if one is not new to DayZ and wants to use the vehicles... with every right to complain where and as he prefers... but he MUST keep in mind that the behavior is what it is... and if he runs, or drives in very populated servers or when the car jumps does not brake and turns off the engine... and how to go looking damage and possibly even death. A bit like going to the subway with a wallet full of money and in plain sight: a robber is always a robber... he must be denounced and convicted... but whoever puts himself in that condition is stupid and just asking for trouble.

I don't know what the problem really was, in my opinion it was NOT a "problem", on the contrary... it is the opposite (as already described in the other post that I linked above). But... from what I read here... A problem of "privacy" because (poor things) could he encourage "stalking" and "streamers sniping"?!? 1) "stalking" What "stalking" in a map like Chernarus? It's not Battlefield. You could play for days and NEVER see any of the players in the game! 2) "streamers sniping" Oh... On the "streamers" I had never really "gather my thoughts"... and for the eventual "monetization of Battlemetrics" I deepened the subject a little and I must say that it really pissed me off! They are the "streamers" that should be prohibited and banned !!! People who make money by recording games without asking permission from any of the other participants? And here no one is shouting at the "privacy scandal"?!? These are parasites! Not those who give generic information on server attendance, which should be obligatory. Then Battlemetrics did not charge for this information, but for the collection and statistics of the same, like any other company that does such services. No one was forced to "buy player stats", while with "streamers" you CANNOT refuse to be videotaped and sent live to "fatten these parasites": this is infamous! This should be prohibited! Here we are thinking just the opposite of how it should be! I have the right to know BEFORE entering a server who is present and who is not. It should be a OBLIGATION to provide this information to ALL players... especially in a game full of cheaters where nothing is done or almost nothing is done to avoid it! I should have the right to REFUSE to be videotaped (practically without my knowledge, too!) And broadcast to fatten up the "sly on duty", who as far as I'm concerned, if he needs money, should look for a "serious job", there is a great need for manpower in the tomato plantations in southern Italy! Don't exploit other unwitting players for this. It should be prohibited by law and, probably, depending on national legislation, it may already be... but no one has complained about it yet. In Italy, for example, you can record the conversations you make even without notifying those present, but you must be present (you cannot "spy" others remotely) and you CANNOT disclose them in public without the consent of the interested parties: it is used for "defense in court" in case of legal problems. I believe that for the registration of the games it should be the same thing: you can register your games, for personal archive or in case of "legal problems", hackers to report etc. But you should NOT disclose them in public if all interested parties (those who have been registered) have not given their consent to this. Even more "cowardly and infamous" if you make money with this business! In my opinion it would already be prohibited by law, but no one has challenged it yet. Is that unfortunately, for everything concerning the internet and information technology, there are enormous legal gaps even at European and / or world level. There is a lot of ignorance and indifference... and the big companies, or the "sly on duty" take advantage of it blissfully. I hope that sooner or later, at least in Europe, someone will complain about the "right to their image" of online players and make a law to prohibit, or at least regulate, these "parasites" of online video games. They should be able to record and broadcast online ONLY if all attendees have been warned and given their clear consent! I discovered a new category of heroes: the "stream snipers".

Incredible ๐ฏ But then say it clear that you are working to ruin the game and favor the cheaters... ๐คฌ

And what would the "problem" be? Do you know that on the net and with the PC we are all tracked in all possible ways? I understand when you have to do a "personal" search on the net, for this there is TOR and various PlugIns for Firefox, but for video games, being afraid of "being tracked" seems to me something out of this world... pure paranoia. The vast majority of FPS servers distribute information about the players present, and I'll tell you it's a very useful thing that I always use. I cannot open the PC (I have one dedicated only to video games, with various HD for "type" of video games: each has all the O.S. optimized for that video game) and load an O.S. just to see if there is anyone on the servers that interest me and who... that's absurd. And... I have always evaluated the various video games even from the active servers that I found on GameTracker (for example) And... For the Battlefield series I go directly into the Battlelog via Firefox from the main PC to see who is and where... and evaluate IF to open the PC from game or not... depending on who I find and where. It is an indispensable service. In fact, for Battlefield 1 (which I still enjoy playing) & BF5 (which is crap) not finding this information I play it very rarely... Fortunately, on DayZ there is Battlemetrics, which gives some of this information... otherwise it would be a mess having to just open the PC, access the account, load the Game Browser ONLY to see some servers... then for those 4 shit info that from the official one (not even the exact number of players! But you can be so *****, because this is deliberate, not a defect), luckily there is "DZSA Launcher" that at least give some more info. And I'll tell you one more thing too. And... On certain versions of Battlefield there was the possibility to watch the game from the subjective vision of each player present in a server, which then... unfortunately... on new games it is no longer present... Even on Battlefield there are a lot of problems with cheaters, and this was a good way to limit the problem. Even if the subjective vision was "server side" and not "client side" (you couldn't see exactly the player screen with the various cheat menus), but being able to see what exactly he was doing, you already had a more precise idea of "how he played ". This helped a lot to "pinch" those who played dishonestly >>> And this is a thing good and right Now... I understand that on DayZ, often, you want to play "hidden" to avoid getting caught "hidden loot" or "hidden bases"... but if you could implement such a thing, maybe "anonymous" or controlled directly by B.I. on some "sample" or "reported" players, it could at least greatly limit the phenomenon of "cheats"... but at least EVERYBODY must be able to know the names and Steam IDs of ALL the players on the server where they play... and maybe even before entering as a "precaution": I know a fellow countryman I have seen, but unfortunately not registered, use tricks... I know the server where he always plays and I avoid him like the plague... but I have met others "bitches", also from my country, that I blocked on Steam and Discord... and if I saw them in a sever I would gladly avoid them. This happens in all "normal" video games, why should it even be "a problem" in DayZ? I repeat: Knowing the number and "real" names (with Steam ID attached) of ALL the players on a given server is all well and good... and I have often wondered why the B.I. he didn't do it right away... then I got to know better the game and these "programmers" (?!?)-(see the tons of bugs and bullshit they did with the game) and I understood why, unfortunately. But invoking "privacy" to hide everything and everyone just seems like big bullshit to me which only helps cheaters... like they need it, on DayZ!
