Will we ever ACTUALLY get aircraft?
Riddick_2K replied to Pyongo Bongo's topic in General Discussion
Helicopters aren't really needed, they're just "American extravagance" from Hollywood movies. Planes would be like flies in a jar, even on fairly large maps like Chernarus+. Rather, what would have been to add immediately at the start would be some decent boats. The ones from the "Expansion" mod literally suck, but recently there's a modder who's doing a really good job. His boats actually float (they're not retextured wave-cutting vehicles like Expansion). Search for "RedFalcon Watercraft". How can you have a map with a lot of sea and no boats at all?!? Even just for Chernarus, without thinking about the modded maps, Deer Isle in the first place. This, in my opinion, is a serious shortcoming. Fortunately filled by a good modder, finally. If we talk about types of vehicles, obviously... because there would be many "serious shortcomings", and not only as objects of use, but also as the possibility of doing or "not doing"... but if we start making a list of what's missing, we can't finish it anymore... it's always DayZ. I'm just saying that "luckily there are modders"... -
Whats the diffirence between types.xml and events.xml
Riddick_2K replied to Qwody's topic in Servers
HI. I'm sorry but I have never inserted and configured a trader in any of my servers. I've only found them on other people's servers. In my opinion, the trader goes against the true philosophy of DayZ (looking for resources to survive on the map) and takes half the game off you. For this, on what I write below, take it as my "guess" but I've never had the opportunity to verify if it's the right reasoning or not. However, if I understood correctly, the trader should follow a "procedure" similar to that of the events, even if I have read several times to insert the "Lifetime = 3888000" in "types.xml" anyway (with events it would not necessary). Maybe it also depends on which trader mod you use (it has setup instructions, I hope). In any case, if you have a vehicle on the map spawned with events (well configured) it remains forever, until it gets ruined and disappears. If you generate with a tool a second vehicle, this will have the life set by the "Lifetime = X" of the "types.xml". Both will coexist on the map, each with its own time and its "life events". "Events" will still manage the vehicle spawned by them. The "lifetime" of the "types.xml" will continue to manage the vehicle you managed with an administration tool If you set the events to zero (0) and restart the server, you will see that only the spawned vehicles from the events will disappear. The ones you generated with the administration tool remain (and vice versa of course). As for the trader, I'm sorry but I don't know. You should look in its config file what it expects. Surely the vehicles generated by the events of the game have a story of their own and those you generate with the tool too. More than that I don't know what to say, you can wait for some more suggestions or try it yourself. Did you know that you are NOT obliged to rent a server from a third party, but you can download yourself a fully functional and "modifiable" local DayZ server (even much better than the rented ones) right from Steam? In this address: "steamdb . info / app / 223350 / info /" (remove the spaces). Use it to do your own testing and test changes before rolling them out to the "public" server. You could make this public too just by opening the right ports on your router but it doesn't always, and not at all, work... it's always DayZ... 😕 P.S. In retrospect, I think trader mods follow the fate of vehicles generated by Admin Tools. I think you have to set the "lifetime = 3888000" and there is no limit on vehicle generation, except server performance. But someone who has direct experience in this field, which I don't have, would have to try or hear about this. What I'm sure, from personal experience, is that the number of stationary vehicles (parked on the map. NOT inside the garages, which are NOT physically on the map) doesn't count for anything on the server's FPS, it doesn't increase the server's CPU calculation . Only moving does compute, especially when full of stuff in an area full of loot... A design flaw, surely. -
"as it should be" ?!? 😵 I HOPE YOU'RE JOKING ! 😠 When, in reality, can you pierce thick stone walls with small gauges? Obviously I'm not talking about "plasterboard", but about stone or concrete walls. Actually THERE IS NO such bullshit in the world... NO "serious game" would allow this and I'm amazed how come no one moans like those vehicle crap. Not only is DayZ an "absurd and unreal" game (as it is written and managed), but also a large part of its players have "absurd and unreal" reasonings... There is a saying where I come from, I don't know if the translation with Google makes the concept: "Those who look alike, catch each other". How true in DayZ and most of its players... 🙄

Teleporting zombies on PlayStation.
Riddick_2K replied to Qeythos Nightshade's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like a huge lag issue -
You can try to open a ticket to the B.I. feedback site. "feedback.bistudio.com / project / view / 2 / " (remove spaces) and see if they consider you. Many of these bullshit are not defects but deliberate choices ... and often do not even bother to answer. Great game, but bad company to write and manage it. Or, as many do, you dedicate yourself to the mods, which largely fix this game (when and how they can). If it weren't for the mods he would be dead and gone by now. Best wishes 😉

Why all this apology for the behavior of this company with DayZ and its players? You bought his shares on the stock market and try to get them to go up?!? 😮

Whats the diffirence between types.xml and events.xml
Riddick_2K replied to Qwody's topic in Servers
HI. For "types.xml" leave it as it is, only the "lifetime" counts, that's fine. For the "events.xml" it is more complex. Do you only have the red car or do you have more color variants? If you have only one type, you can put "nominal" & "max" = 3 & "min" = 1. If you have multiple color variations, the discussion is more complex. But you forgot about the "cfgspawnabletypes.xml" file that determines what accessories the vehicle will have at its birth. And also remember "cfgeventspawns.xml" where you have to put the coordinates where you want these vehicles to spawn. I think you should find some guidance on this on YouTube as well, In any case you can take for example the Vanilla game files for a vehicle and "fit" it for your own mods. The way it works is always the same. -
Did you know that in DayZ it is possible to shoot through practically any wall without using any tricks: it's a (idiotic) feature of the game... unfortunately... it's been a long time and I'm afraid it will never be changed. Check out this Wobo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMbmtR3xgjc

Yes, unfortunately it is true. In any case, "Anti-Cheat" software is unreliable and unfortunately often subject to false positives. I don't know about Battleeye, but I know Punkbuster well because I've been playing Battlefield since 2009, and it literally generated waves of false positives, so much so that EA dropped it. Now the Battlefield servers are full of cheaters but at least no one gets banned for anything anymore. The only really good system I know of is to allow free flight for everyone, so that you can follow each player's game and be able to record it and, if the company that manages it is serious, you can also report them. I understand that due to the peculiarity of DayZ it is a difficult path to take, even with a strong delay (at least you would lose all the hidden stocks), but the B.I. if it were really interested in eliminating this plague from the game, it would have to hire a group of administrators who, based on the number of complaints and evidence submitted, follow the players (in a completely hidden way, not like certain server administrators) and verify what exactly they are doing and how. In this way, a lot of scum could be eliminated and in addition, once the word would spread, the "terror" effect would also be obtained: every player would be afraid of always being "potentially" controlled and it would be much more difficult than thinking to buy a tricks and use it. In my opinion this would be the only real working system to try to "seriously" eradicate this plague. Then the "ethics" of the decisions could also be discussed, even the employees of the B.I. they are "human beings" with all that follows (errors, fanaticism, discrimination, even if only unconscious). Or resign yourself to tricks, or look for a private server with at least "decent" administrators. NOT always a followed server is also "well administered". Often, unfortunately, the servers are bought by frustrated children/adolescents and/or "never grown/evolved" adults who are only looking for the "gratification of power": I see this in all videogames, DayZ is not excluded.

Assuming that we are talking about the game "Vanilla" (otherwise it would have to be specified), I think the most correct situation would be that when one dies he should not have the possibility to recover anything. It should be a realistic survival simulator… at least in theory. I know that sadly...in the reality of the game...that's not the case, but the way I see it, when you die (by killing, by accident, by starvation, or cold or whatever) you're just dead. Your attempt was made and you lost. You have to start from scratch and that's it. Without anything else. In my opinion, without even the base or your hidden deposits. Another matter is if you play in modded servers: those can transform the game into everything and the opposite of everything. This only depends on the server owner what setting he wants to give the game. Returning to "Vanilla"... I assume that, unfortunately, it is a very flawed and poorly managed game (I hope there is no need to argue about this), it is true that it is possible to die from a lame flaw... and in this case it should be the B.I. to compensate the player for EVERYTHING he has lost...but imagine if they do nothing for the cheaters, if they will ever take the time to compensate the players for the flaws in the game. Moreover, since it is a "raw arcade" (because in fact it is so, unfortunately), they could also completely eliminate the re-entry delay time and move the spawn location away if death is following a killing by another player and bring neighbor the spawn location if cause of death is "random" events or defects. But don't even think about it. The B.I. it will never do anything like that... not only am I not even able to fix this game, but many of the absurdities and unrealities of this game have been done deliberately on purpose and not by accident. DayZ is what it is. Either you accept it like this or you better change the game.

Buff restraints and be able to break people's legs with melee
Riddick_2K replied to GameComplainer's topic in Suggestions
Enjoying kidnapping people and torturing them is a depraved and psychotic amusement. I'm amazed how this game was banned only for the presence of cannabis and not for the possibility that you enjoy it so much. Me, if I were a state official, I would make a task force of people who play on DayZ servers and take the names of all the players who enjoy kidnapping and torturing others and I would give them a real life psychiatric examination... I bet that among so many "idiots", I would also take some real criminal dangerous for society. -
What would be really nice is that they allow the infected to gather in herds wandering around the map (without running) and that they also attack the fences of the bases (with the damage proportional to the number of infected). Like in "The Walking Dead", more or less, but they should first really make this game engine work in multi core (in theory it already is, but in practice it doesn't work for many... many don't even know it or verify it: they play and that's it), otherwise, given that at least 50/80 and even more infected would be needed, the performance of the servers would be greatly affected, other than vehicles in orbit. But if it worked, it would be a big step forward, in my opinion.

Playing ArmA no ? 🤔

Meanwhile, I see a great deal of confusion between the official vanilla servers and the community's vanilla/modified servers: it's not clear whether you're talking about the former or the latter. They are completely different. For example. Turn PvP on and off. In public Vanillas it doesn't make sense, since there will never be an admin to do it. In the modded community there are already mods that allow you to do this. And I'm not going to reply to the many absurd suggestions, it would be too long. For me, simply, it would be enough to make the infected more difficult and in greater numbers ... perhaps with the hordes of walkers that can also endanger the bases. Implement all those "real" survival stuff, leather jobs, self built weapons (bows, spears), stop all these military weapons, which are for FPS warfare, not a pandemic survival game. Not in DayZ, at least. But that's not enough, if the whole context is absurd and grotesque... when the doll eats as if he had a tapeworm in his stomach, the absurd consumption of anything (weapons, shoes, knives, hatchets, shovels, pots, everything... seems made of butter), fences are increasingly difficult to put up, tents as well (I need tents in the woods, NOT in the middle of a village square), when I put away a backpack, I have to put it full, as I do in reality, don't empty it object by object... and so many other nonsense that I can't think of right now. DayZ is a poorly made and poorly managed game. In the vanilla public you will NEVER get anything good, just look at the history of this game... after years and years of this inability and bullshit, do you really think that right now everything will change?!? deluded. Luckily in DayZ there are mods. The only true "tractor" in the game. With those (and the complete free server: "steamdb . info / app / 223350 /" you can configure yourself a game environment that is much more realistic and suited to your tastes and aspirations. Unfortunately the various modders (many even really very good ones) will never be able fix the game, but change it and "smooth" the various "edges" of the defects of the game, yes. This is the only way. If you really expect that the programmers of this game, sooner or later, will fix it, or change some features from how it is now, prepare yourself for a bitter disappointment. Moreover, many people, even many different points of view and various opinions, even opposing ones... the base game, having to satisfy the majority of players, will necessarily dissatisfy a good portion of them. And let's go back to the mods, which allow you to "refine" the game to your own vision of "good, fair and rewarding game". My 5 cent.
-
It may be true, but then it means that you haven't followed it much, if you don't know well what the "situation" of this game is and what has been done (and NOT done) over the years, patch after patch. 🤔
-
You're new to DayZ too, huh... 😁
-
They are all new players... but they are right... 😉 Too bad they don't know that the B.I. he "deliberately" made building fences and pitching tents increasingly difficult and impossible, patch by patch. It is a deliberate choice, not a mistake or an "oversight". THEY DO IT ON PURPOSE ! From this, and from many other (small and large) things I have come to the conclusion that the B.I. HATE the game or its players. There is no other explanation otherwise. I can understand the "inability" to write a working game or fix it... but when certain "features" are done on purpose (and admittedly on purpose), there's really no other explanation: they hate the game or its players!

In DayZ Vanilla Chernarus, is there a system to have blizzards without using the "Namalsk Survival" MOD, which works badly in Chernarus? Thank you

Riddick_2K replied to Bubbehn's topic in Servers
Sorry if I'm in a bit of a hurry, but... search for "<lifetime>" & "DayZ" I think you will find a lot of information about it 😉 -
Does anyone know the time of the 1.20 update?

Well, if you have some old backups it's always better than nothing... then it depends on how much you've "built" on the server. If you run only as a "lone survivor" you won't have lost much, if you like building large and complex bases, the kind you spend whole days building "fence mazes"... an old backup is always better than nothing. And "generally" (for mods that I know of, at least) it's not a big deal to change one "hive" to another. At worst, you reset everything and start over, like you're afraid you'll have to do. Try deleting, redownload and reinstalling "Expansion" (perhaps a corrupted download of the mod), see first if it works and if it works make a backup of all the mission folder. Then try to restore the old backup of "storage_1" and see if it works and what you were able to recover. It will waste some time, but if you are interested in recovering the previous state, I think it is the only way. Wishes again 🙂 P.S. However, from what I've read, "Expansion" is a complex and quite "mangy" mod. If you don't need it for something specific that you can't find elsewhere, it's still better to use other mods. It may also have its own "archiving" system (like when you install CF, which is needed for many other mods, including admin mods). In that case there would be nothing to do, but I don't use that mod, so mine is just a hypothesis. However, if you have it installed for helicopters, there are other mods that do it... and now there's also a really good mod (much better than Expansion) for boats. These really float, they are not repainted cars that "cut the waves". Actually, from what I've read around, if you can avoid "Expansion" using other mods, do it.

Two points: 1) You will NEVER change the human soul just by increasing environmental difficulties. It will change for some, but a good portion of players will continue to hunt humans, because that's the only thing that amuses them... and if they can't do it, they will switch games or servers. Those who have the "cooperation" mentality will use it even with "small environmental difficulties", those who don't have it, even with "great environmental difficulties" will always try to kill some players, because this is the only thing that "gratifies" them in a game like this. I see you understand little about the human soul... And in any case, even increasing the environmental difficulties too much risks worsening the already "bad realism" of the game. I don't feel like, now, listing all the absurdities and unrealities of this game... things we all know... Do you want to increase the bullshit? Like the "packs of bears" like in some servers? Or further increase the bears' resistance to bullets, which already look like alien RoboCops? Or the Super-Wolves, maybe even with "vertical take-off" and laser beams. Forget this... you'll ruin this unfortunate game even more, without solving the "problem" of the murderers, who are in the human soul, NOT in the environment. The environment changes little. IMHO 2) Artificial intelligences, at the moment, are ridiculous. In DayZ that's okay because they just have to simulate brain-wracked and motor-impaired humans. That's fine. But have you ever tried FPS warfare? Here, playing against the PC is simply ridiculous: zero (0) strategy, painful tactics, infallible aim. ABSOLUTELY NOT human. You could probably already write a complex enough intelligence to be able to simulate "pseudo-humans" in a video game, but I'm afraid it would require so much CPU work, (and programming), that in DayZ you will NEVER see it. To conclude... leave it alone, this game is already a mess... I don't think a good AI is within the reach of these programmers... and if some modder really managed to make a serious one... I would first like to see how much it costs us in terms of server CPU.
-
I don't know how the "Expansion" mod works, but surely all the persistence data of your server can be found in "missions/dayzOffline.chernarusplus/storage_1". If you backed up that folder (it should be done cyclically and saved carefully) you still have the option to restore everything. Otherwise I'm afraid you have lost everything. However "Expansion" should have its own Discord channel. Before you give up on everything, try asking there. Wishes

If it's just to learn and practice, this has been around for years, but no one remembers. >>> steamdb.info/app/223350/ It is not only used to test servers and mods offline and can also be used to assemble a well-performing server by yourself and not worry about expensive and poorly performing hostings (in this case, however, it must be remembered that open ports do not always work. .. not always and not at all, but if you fall into the "lucky" group, the performance of self-made hardware is excellent at much lower costs if you consider use beyond a single year). To invite friends to have fun in peace and / or teach someone "the basics", you can always use direct access via IP. From what I understand, that always works.

Since nobody checks the link, I try again this way. Typically "DayZ", game and forum... ========================================================================== To give an exact evaluation you should also have the server configuration files. As rightly said DayZ, even if with the possibility of being configured in multi-thread, still uses ONLY ONE core. What crashes the game is anything that consumes CPU cycles. AI in the first place, if you abuse it. In my experience the vehicles, if they are stationary (parked) do not change almost anything. I have my server on an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (great for multi-thread but NOT so much for single thread), Mb ASUS B450-Plus Prime, Ram Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G30C15U4B 3000 MHz 8GBx4 and HD Crucial BX500 240 Gb CT240BX500SSD1. No OS from "server", but my old "trusted" W7x64. At idle, with DayZ vanilla I was on 14.000 FPS. Then I started putting on Mod's. Obviously I started with CF and the admin ones. Only when I added the "V++" did the FPS drop to 10.000. Then I added other Mod's (I can post the list if needed). Now, in idle they are on 9/8000, if I enter I go to 6/5.000, if another person enters, it drops to 5/4.000 FPS. I have never tested other people. I increased the number of animals, I slightly increased the number of "static" infected and a bit that of the "dynamic" infected... I have the spawn of vanilla vehicles, in greater numbers, scattered around the map (I do NOT like the trader "shopping center" style, I don't consider it a "real DayZ"). I tried to increase the number of vehicles a lot, but as long as they stay still, nothing (or almost) changes for me. I have all the necessary settings for multi-threading (if needed I can list which ones) and from the MSI-Afterburner graphs I see that DayZ always and only uses one core... that one is almost 100%, the others are "sleeping". If needed I can post some example logs and SS. Sometimes, however, it happens to me that the server starts up and idles with 3/4.000 FPS, sometimes even 2.000... and I never understood why since I haven't even changed important game settings. I've never tried with many people because this has always remained "personal" (when I tried I was unable to enable all the ports to the outside and I could only let people in via direct access with IP). I recently (still a construction site) rented a server on Nitrado, but its FPS is limited up to around 96/97 FPS... whatever I change, it always stays on that value, and this doesn't make it clear what it changes, just hope it never goes under. I think you've all already seen (those who have a server and who also use the Editor), that sometimes, during server restarts, pieces of structures put with the Editor are missing, and you need to restart to get them back. And if I'm not mistaken, I also must have read somewhere about someone having DayZ that used more than one core on him. And to add... To you, is the brightness of the game always good ? Do you always see as clearly as it should? I do not! And I understood it very late and only by pure chance... read this, always me with another nik, without lengthen the text: (H T T P) steamcommunity (com) /app/221100/discussions/0/4943253385013944762/ Before with a GTX 1060 and driver 431.60 the defect made me 1 time out of 6/7 that I entered. Now I have changed with an RTX3060 and put the 474.11 drivers and this defect always makes me. Every time I go in I have contrast shot and brightness stuck at zero and I have to do the procedure described in the link to get the game back to smooth viewing. Also this is "DayZ"... 😛 I guess that's the "usual" problem: DayZ is a very buggy game. And the flaws are not always the same for everyone. Some are for everyone, some others... at someone make defect, some don't. Sure that DayZ is a good "Pandora's Box"... I don't know if what I wrote can be of any help to you, I hope at least it's a consolation that it's a problem for many and not just yours... Excellent advice that the best CPU for DayZ is the one with the greatest computing power for ONLY ONE core. Because this is actually the situation. And... be careful not to overdo the AI, events and the MOD's you add (some consume CPU even if it doesn't seem like it, hoping they are at least done well). 😉 =============================================================================
