This is huge! Been waiting for a Brazilian (Or even SA) Livonia server since i was released years ago.
-
If you got shoot by someone you don't even see it's probably you are standing still in the wrong place. Water pump is almost always camped by snipers. The few tips i can give you is to avoid roads, don't stay anywhere for longer than needed, be VERY aware of water pumps (mainly on near coast towns), don't make more noise than needed and if you absolutely need to shoot, move away asap, some people are friendly, but as a a rule, trust no one.

We are still experiencing some issues every now and then. Error code is 0x0001x0001. Happens only on servers: DayZ HC BR 4-001 - Hosted by Fragnet / DayZ BR 4-002 - Hosted by Fragnet / DayZ BR 4-003 - Hosted by Fragnet Those are the ONLY available brazilian servers, there is no other official. So there is no way for me to play the game (under reasonable latency) outside community servers. Bohemia should really look into it and SOLVE IT. Been too long since first report and nothing was done or said about it.
-
As tittle suggests, they are offline since yesterday and no word from Bohemia so far. What is happening?
-
And they are offline once more. Come on bohemia, you should check services you paid for, cleary brazilian servers are under some issue. If this does not get fixed i'll be forced to ask for a refound, as there is simply no way for me to play (under a reasonably latency)

By "dupers" you mean exploiters, right? Yeah, thats a thing too. But rest assured, any experienced player can farm a crapload of ammo and grenades, enough to blow up almost any base. What peoople complain about basebuilding is not that they want wall to hold 300 grenades or make people waste more resources in order to break in. What most people complain is that there are no defense to basebuilding while you are logged off. And in that regard, no matter how hard it is to break in, they will break in in late hours if there are no one to defend it.

Idea: What if bases would only load for online players?
Thundermight replied to Nicklander's topic in General Discussion
Then you shouldn't be posting in this topic at all! Thats the true beauty of dayz, you can have a handfull of players, and none of them plays the same game. Now back to the topic, Derleth's idea was most reasonable here so far. To be honest i do think we need more durable walls, but i don't see how it would work in practice. you see, even back when you could shot throught metalsheet and hit wooden frame, i always repeled any invaders, regardless what i was doing. Farming nearby and hear shots on base direction? Went back instantly and base was saved (or ar least went down with a hard fight), but when it was on late hours, went every friend was sleeping, i was always impossible to do anything, regardless of how many bear traps or landmines. Even those old barbed wire glitches (build on frame and make everyone who passes throught be in slices) didn't hold people back, because there was no "competition", so to speak. I can see how you think that "even more fortifications" would solve, but believe me, i've always played on 1pp oficial servers, and as much as i was playing with 4 friends, only 2 of us was actively farming, and we got a barrel full of grenades week 2 (considering we use quite a lot in pvp). So yeah, there is no fortification enough if there is no one online to take advantage of that. I do think bohemia is really considering a big change in basebuilding, they are certainly aware of the impact that 1.18 will cause in basebuilding(no pun intended). But what worries me is that most servers are bad already as it is, if basebuilding becomes a thing, there will be a crapload of people doing it, and servers will certainly melt. Remember when damp items increased weight? Was a good change on paper, on practice melt down servers, and they had to pull it back a week later after it was released. -
Disclaimer: It is NOT a qq about shotguns, but honest questions and hopefully a good discussion about it. Disclaimer 2: English is not my primary language, so mistakes will be made. I've been wondering if shotgun power is not a bit overtuned atm (Buckshot, ofc). Considering how easy to find it is and how early you can find them. That said, i don't think it is that good against a fully geared character (weapon+protection) and some might argue it is undertuned in this situation, but thing is this is not the usual people you use shotguns on. For the most time you see starter character, who got barely any protection which means insta death or (if far enough) uncon, which also means death. Also i think it almost unable smgs to be played for pvp, since a BK is the way to go till an AR (some rather have it over any KA-74) which i think is a problem. I don't really know what changes can be made in that regard (i hope we can get some), but i think some change must be made regarding it's power on fresh-mid gear characters. Maybe a few less pellets or wider spread, maybe a decrease in damage per meter or even a larger sway, making it harder to aim. One thing that is worth mention as well is that the "new" boots made from rags is way too silent, you can easily sneak RUNNING at someone, which increases it's power even more.

We don't have Livonia for PC either in south america, almost felt like i've got scammed for buying a DLC that has no available server for my region.

Experimental Update 1.18 (Change Log)
Thundermight replied to lynn.zaw's topic in PC Experimental Updates
Explosion dmg both layers, so would not make any difference against them. I think it must do a layer-by-layer on explosion to that idea work out and they should make loudest noise in the game, attracting literally every zombie in a huge radius. 2 would be fucking amazing, althought wouldn't fix "explosive" issues. and 3 i kinda agree, but it comes down to luck. i've got a LAR for almost a week w/o a 20round magazine. -

Yes, thats ownership in a nutshell. -

Don't get me wrong, i do have personal answers to those questions too, my point on "how you do X?" was on bohemia's point of view, as they must consider it in a more broad spectrum. -
Idea: What if bases would only load for online players?
Thundermight replied to Nicklander's topic in General Discussion
Yes, but you need "ownership´" to do that. Just imagine you do your base on police station in electro and logoff, do i, not knowing there is a base there make myself one there too, what happens when we both are logged in? So yes, you need ownership of that space. One can argue that you shouldn't be able to build in some builds or even inside a city, but you can't have 2 bases from different people in same place and hope that it will work (in the system you imagine). And, as i've said, i've seen it done in community servers, so it can be done. The way i see is that bohemia was way too conservative with adding game changers. But as for this last update they are start looking unafraid, which is good. -

Thundermight replied to Nicklander's topic in General Discussion
Quite sure ownership is possible with this game engine. We can even see modded servers that do it for basebuilding (selling bases) and no one else is allowed to build in that sold area. So yes, it can be done for sure. But there come a few questions tho. In that system there will be some huge bases, how can you make that viable to servers don't melt when a big base owner log in? How can you manage people that logoff midfight to avoid losing their loot (or their base in that regard)? How do we handle clan base? To be honest i kinda think thats the direction basebuilding will have to go in order to be "balanced". I do think it is pretty good atm (maybe will change with 1.18) but the problem still with people raiding when enemies are logged off and there will be no fortification buff enough to deal with that. -
Experimental Update 1.18 (Change Log)
Thundermight replied to lynn.zaw's topic in PC Experimental Updates
Don't get me wrong, i don't want it to be perfecly fair and balanced, as much as it will be impossible to be fair as long as people do break into your base on low pop hours, so i'm aware that balancing is impossible. What i meant is that this update so far simples deletes basebuilding from the game. To give a further info on that regard, plastic explosive blows a full a metal wall in one go. I agree that they will probably take a look at wall durability but quite sure it was a oopsy, so it's kinda our job to alert them (us who care about the game). Also i think it is worth mention that i see this as an amazing update and by any means i want worries to keep us from getting good features. edit: I was supposed to say "To give a forther info on that regard, check WOBO video about explosives". -
Experimental Update 1.18 (Change Log)
Thundermight replied to lynn.zaw's topic in PC Experimental Updates
Everything in this update is amazing, but i wonder the impact in the game. As someone said "This patch is the final Nail in the Coffin that is basebuilding." i wonder if you guys plan to do a some changes on wall hp aswell, otherwise every past effort on making it better will be nullified. Also want to say to the people that don't want basebuilding, or to respond to whoever said "Dayz never was about basebuilding". IT IS. It might not be for you, you may even rather have it removed from the game, but rest assured that it is a major feature of the game and is a big selling point for dayz. And bohemia is trying to make it better, as much as this patch might throw them back a bit, they are surely not giving up on basebuilding. -
Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay
Thundermight replied to lakevu's topic in Suggestions
There are some really cool suggestions here. For me, everything that goes in the "hardcore zumbie survival" is a win, but at this point i think they should try to bring changes that affect the social aspect of the game, right now the game is basically a infinite pubg match, if you spot someone, you shoot. And THAT must change. -
To be honest i find the new rope belt amazing! As much is it is not nearly as good as the other two, you should consider two things: How quick you get and how useful it is. You can get one from the start basically and it is very useful. You might thing it is not, right? But hear me out. It is a free 3 slot and you are a fresh spawn, with no vest (You can barely get a stabvest at start) and probably a shit backpack (if any at all). At that point 3 slots is alot. Also don't forget that either civilian or military belt only works if you put a sheath or a holster on it, otherwise just a bottle ( Which you can't really find that often). Again, it is simple, it is not that good on later stages, but always consider the full scenario on which it's applied. Regard basebuilding. Yes it sucks, it's better than ever before, but still sucks. But in that regard i don't have faith on them to deploy anything that would fix without breaking the game. You see, the biggest problem about basebuilding is not to defend your base from invaders anymore, the biggest problem is that those invaders are doing their dirty work when everyone else is sleeping. How do you fix that? Have a schedule that raiding is allowed like on community servers? Or make it so hard to breach through that it would take hours, or countless resources to take it down? Neither would fix, it would create more problems actually. But i do think Bohemia is leaning toward the later, since they made some changes to CLE that would make so big stashed gear wouldn't make the rest of the server starve on loot. Right now i see basebuilding as a cruel joke, since you would get raided when you are asleep and can't even fight for. What i expect is that in a single patch, or even as a half measure, they would go crazy in that subject and do a huge 180º on it, to see how players would react and adjust from there, beta test is sadly not enough. As for outfits i'll just say that have spraypaint back would be cool.

So much lag on brazilians oficial servers
Thundermight replied to vangrant1's topic in General Discussion
I can relate to that, Brazilian server are currently unplayable, 002 seems to be most effected. Meanwhile i was trying to play on some other servers to check, every single one from oficial hive (1pp and 3pp) tested a few US servers, both east and west coast and was fine, just that delay due higher latency, same goes from EU server. But unlike brazilian servers, those wasn't suffering from performance issues, you could play it normally, but with a small delay. On brazilian servers it is quite different, it does have a huge delay on interaction, but the problem is that you see players teleporting, not walking. I strongly suggest you guys to take a look into what fragnet is delivering to you as a service. Every single time we got a problem world-wide on dayz, here on brazil it is heavier, which means the provider cleary has an inferior hardware. -
They said in 2020 that they would be looking into vehicle issues, quoting them here: "With support from new additions to our team, we hope to resolve our ongoing weaknesses regarding some of the synchronization issues and physics-related problems with vehicles." But... Tha being said, we surely can't expect that to be soon, probably by fall best case scenario. Althought it is not fair to compare to a rockstar game, it's fair to say that bohemia wants to fix it without spending any additional money. Almost every sync issue is due server perfomance, not only that, a few other features cause problems due that too (remember when wetness affected weight?) so better servers would help alot. But thing is, they want to fix it via coding, which makes it cheaper in a long run. I just hope that tencent get bigger inside bohemia and help them with that, since it looks like tencent's money is almost infinite.

Save Livonia, it's player count is dwindling
Thundermight replied to YeedMyLastHaw669's topic in General Discussion
We only play on oficial servers, we got a few bad experiences on community servers, so now we just don't play there. -

Thundermight replied to YeedMyLastHaw669's topic in General Discussion
I do think livonia is an awesome map, but what is put me and my friends off it is that they share hive with chernarus. I wish i could play them both, but sadly bohemia makes you choose between one or another, which makes livonia a no go for me and my friends. -
As the tittle suggests, we need more brazilian servers. Right now we have only 3, but nowadays is cleary not enough. As we see increasingly queues for them, going from 20+ at afternoon but still holds up to 10+ even at 2am. I know some people would say that it is normal for some US servers, but things is, they CHOOSE to play on those servers, but we have only those 3 viable options (due latency) and they are not enough. I don't know from a business standpoint, but i see how off putting it is for someone who has a few moments of free time and spends half of it on a queue. I'm sure dayz is growing up on brazil, so it is imperative that the game does follow up.
-
So, are we getting any response from Dayz team? @lynn.zaw @ImpulZ @Tom_48_97 @Kyiara ???? From 18pm to now (10:30pm) we got up 40 players IN QUEUE. Right now we got 41 for server 001, 30 for 002 and 35 for 003. We don't have any other server located in brazil, so we can't do nothing but wait. That is really bad, we are unable to play the game, since most of the free time to play is spent on queue. Those numbers are enough to fully fill 2 more servers. So please look into it or at least tell us something, anything! The community is growing strong in brazil, but this lack of support is off putting.

Server performance is really bad atm in brazilian server 002.
