haha this forum blocks their own links to github. so... google for bohemiainteractive github dayz central loot economy. theres a missionfolder for walpurgis (and the other events). edit: still hidden without a link in the post. whatever.

i couldnt care less about wipes. they rarely happen. maybe twice a year. its probably a difference having a full 60 slot official server and having an empty private sever. hmm? no wipe since 1.07? 1.08 brought the ski resort. imagine building a base there pre 1.08 and now the entrance is blocked by a ski lift or whatever. same occurs with v1.17 when nizhnoye got rebuild. your former base is now under the ground of the map, congratulations! i can understand the frustration from basebuilders, building and hoarding stuff for months, best with multiply accounts. but thats not how the majority of players play the game.

u have insane high numbers for all loot items. theres probably not enough loot spots on the map. your MK2 already occupies 480(!) spots just in tier 1 and 2. no wonder no other pistols spawn. u have to massively lower the numbers for ALL the items. where should all the 1120 (!!!!) makarov mags spawn?

dunno about disabling textures, but u can easily shoot thru most walls/objects in dayz for many years. search youtube for "how penetration works in dayz" by wobo.

criticism and feedback is great and wanted, but this is just not helping. not anyone. maybe it helps yourself only to get some steam off here on the internet. this is the same moaning since 2018. u guys still wait for dean halls promises from 2016. shouting at a small developer team who do a great job the past 4 years. considering the resources they have and a messed up un-finished hybrid of an engine they have to deal with. and in the end its just a video game. im for sure not happy with the overall progress of the game since 2013, im no fan of every tweak/change/addition in whatever update - but i dont go mental about it. i use the feedback tracker if i feel so.

yea community servers usually run smoother than the official ones. the official servers all share one hive together and i dont think it helps with server performance. the ads bug however can happen on any server under circumstances, but it seems to be fixed with the latest experimental patch.

why i have a sound of barking dogs in my ears while reading this thread? .... yes, the game feels less immersive than during alpha. for various reasons. the "gun play" or weapon mechanics felt very very different than today. there was no magic "r" key to reload your weapons/magazines. the guns were way more harder to handle with some nasty sway and recoil. the snap sounds of bullets felt more threatening just by its sound volume. the whole audio design felt more immersive - sounds of surrounding nature were more present (they gave the bird sounds some more effects at least with v1.20), louder bullet snaps, the clunking of your weapon on your shoulder/in your hands. but tbf the gunplay also felt very clunky back then, but i guess the whole game was^^. the unconscious times were much longer, but with a slower loss of blood, which i think was great and i hope they bring it back how it was at some point. as far as i remember the container sizes in your inventory were also much smaller. some tshirts had no slots at all, u couldnt carry a truck battery in your tracksuit pants or four rifles in your backpack. the skybox and nighttime 5 years ago looked way better and more real than today. yea, i think its fair to say that parts of the game were dumbed down a bit and it sadly feels more arcade now in a way.

desync isnt a new feature of 1.19. i would say 90% of the bugs are a result of desync issues. and its obviously not an easy fix. the game is complex, runs on a hybrid of an unfinished engine, provided by bohemia. why blame the few devs for this? i could understand this argument from new players, but usually its the same complaints from the same players over YEARS. food poisoning is a you problem. i cant remember the last time i died cos of any sickness. items spawning in random condition is a great feature, and most stuff can be repaired. and why is it impossible to play on unmodded servers now? are there any mods that fix the game? yea updates every "1-2 weeks". people will complain then that they have to update their mods and servers all the time.

inertia only needs some small tweaks now for certain objects u want to pass. sometimes u get stuck at medium steps while trying to enter a building. nothing game breaking for me, u can still get over it by sprinting or vaulting. ads bugs are since ever in the game. doin 2 commands at once with your char often leads to some ugly desyncs. u dont need inertia for that. personally im very happy with inertia and im looking forward for more limitations that go closer to a survival game. -

if u start on livonia, just follow the river, it will lead to the next town/village. use the roadsigns from there on. clickptg is right about 2 chars on official servers (one for 1pp, one for 3pp, even shared over both official maps), but on community servers u can have as much chars as there are servers. custom spawn means your choice of character, not a location on the map.

i highly doubt zombies spawn in a radius of 10 feet from u. thousands of hours in the game and never experienced this behaviour.

why would u want to tune vehicles to the old system? that wont change the network problems. personally im having no real issues with the new simulation, actually i prefer it very much to the old one. sometimes gears get desynced, but some re-shifting fixes that for me.

we have new damage values for all the loot that spawns. i think its a small, but one of the best changes with 1.19. nomore massive amounts of pristine items in an apocalyptic world. so - thank you! in the old cfgspawnabletypes file we had a general line for damage values just on the top of that file: <damage min="0.3" max="0.7" /> <- i ASSUME (theres no documentary i know about) 0.0 would be ruined, 0.1 badly damaged, 1.0 would be pristine. maybe? at which number the damage state changes from damaged to badly damaged etc.? in the NEW config file for 1.19 theres nomore a general damage line on top, but under many single items this damagevalues will be used now, example: <type name="NVGoggles"> <damage min="0.01" max="0.32" /> <- so those will only spawn closed to ruined? do i got that right? </type> can i still use the "general damage value" on top of the file, using it for all items that are in the cfgspawnabletypes.xml or do i have to edit every single item on its own? that would be aLOT of copy and paste, while im fine to use random damage values for all files.

disagree with what? that there are bigger concerns with the game? i dont disagree with that. im taken offense cos this topic gets derailed with vehicle issues. if that is the counter argument, we can close the feedback tracker and concentrate on vehicle updates only. if there was a thread 2 months ago about inertia or needed changes to the loot economy (random damage values), the replies would probably be the same like in this thread. i dunno how i would do that. im just saying that there is an endless resource of gasoline and water in a survival GAME and it just doesnt feel right to me. thats it. and i really dont care much if this is gonna be changed at some point or doesnt, but if they find a better way with fuel and water sources, im fine with it. any extra challenge in the game i appreciate. as i said, with the medical attention mod gasstation and waterwells can be configured by server owners; giving them a % chance to give fuel/water only or disable em at all. some servers that run this mod might even disable all wells outside the spawnarea. -
the transitbus is still in the server files, but not added back to the vanilla game yet. im positive we see its comeback at some point and ofc consoles will get those too then. only mods on pc give the bus, like the expansion mod for example.

sure... those items respawn, but not in front of u where u picked them up. and its limited just by the amount it spawns. gasoline is a guaranteed endless resource, water from wells is. oh yes, nothing game breaking or high priority dev issue.... just a suggestion from someone i commented on. ? -

no, u cant say that. cos everything u mentioned is actually limited (apart from water from the wells), while the gasstations have an unlimited source of fuel. so yea, i would like to see some limits there too. the medical attention mod allows you for example to completly disable wells and gasstations or make them just randomly give fuel/water (simple to configure with a percent change per well/gasstation). -
that sucks 😞 it would be nice if the devs add something to remember your friend. i know they did this in the past and not only once - adding a cross to locations where the person last logged out.
