    Night is now HORRIBLE!!!!!

Night SHOULD be horrible in a zombie apocalypse. I was able to make it to Signal Mountain in the dark. I was able to follow the high-voltage lines and power poles that led up to it, and I was able to see the silhouette of the tower. When night is on the horizon, you need to position yourself to be able to navigate using land features. That, and you CAN see your compass without light.

    Quick test on 1.02

You must have not had a moon or something. Is it dark? You bet. But, I was able to make it to Signal Mountain in the dark. I was able to follow the high-voltage lines and power poles that led up to it, and I was able to see the silhouette of the tower. When night is on the horizon, you need to position yourself to be able to navigate using land features. That, and you CAN see your compass without light.

    Xbox Update 1.02

Probably will never find any to worry about it, but nice to know. I guess you'll just have to store other crap in those pouches other than mags.

    Xbox Update 1.02

    .....and you know this how?

    Quick test on 1.02

Personally, I liked the way nights were in 1.01. I haven't played 1.02 yet, but from what I've read, it seems it's back to the way it was in game preview? The only time I have ever experienced absolute pitch black night in real life was 100% overcast. Having pitch blackness in the game is unrealistic.
  6. They explained that for now, they have a hotfix for it, and from what I understand, the logout timer will be lengthened.

    Okay guys...WTF?!?!?!

Scenarios like yours are exactly what I am talking about and trying to get players like Pilgrim* to understand. A while back, the same exact thing happened to me. I killed a couple of zombies for a guy, then one of his buddies killed me. No words spoken, no attempt to have a conversation, nothing......just BANG, BANG. Dead. That's really all I am complaining about. I understand that death is not a matter of IF, but WHEN and HOW. I am just bewildered by how NOBODY is willing to interact. I think DayZ is a much better experience if you have a couple of people you can team up with as opposed to running solo, but that's nearly impossible because NOBODY TALKS, they just shoot.

    Okay guys...WTF?!?!?!

I HAVE said I (and many others) don't like duping. And yes, duping and KoS are, in MY opinion, related for the reasons I had stated. Having that endless, bottomless supply of gear, weapons, and ammo, there are no longer any harsh consequences for your actions, and perma-death is no longer an issue, because you really don't "lose" your stuff when you die. Dupers literally have nothing to lose. Now what IS a different subject is XBox and PC, that you keep mentioning. I am not talking about PC. If I wanted to talk about PC, then I would A) be playing on PC and B) be posting on a PC discussion board.

    What server?

I always try and investigate a town before I go in (it's easier when the binoculars worked), either for players or zombies. Depending on my mood, I might wait for players to leave town, go in and try and strike up a conversation, shoot them, follow them THEN shoot them.....it all depends. If there's a lot of zombies, I go into "sneak mode". If you can take out one or two zombies, fine. But usually others will get alerted and come after you. Now, I haven't experienced it yet, but supposedly if you can run from zombies and break their line of site, they will stop running after you, but like I said, I don't know. What I DO know is that now if you get cornered in a house by a few, or a horde, whatever, and you just sit chill, they eventually lose interest and move on. As far as not getting your friends to play (all mine like the run and gun stuff), I know what you're going through. I was fortunate enough to run into some guys from Nova Scotia around Christmas time, and I'm glad we didn't decide to shoot each other. Good guys, and have had a lot of interesting and funny adventures. Unfortunately, they are back in the oil fields, so I probably won't see them online for about 5 or 6 months, so I'm running solo as well. It DEFINITELY adds a whole other lever of "pucker factor" when you have nobody watching your back.

    Okay guys...WTF?!?!?!

Oh, I agree. But like I explained in my original post, he knocked me out. There was no reason to kill me. He could have robbed me and moved on.
  11. Stagman70

    Okay guys...WTF?!?!?!

Don't get me wrong, I have killed others as well. I have robbed people. I have shot, KO'd them, restrain them, heal them, and made friends that way. With that said, I could probably deal with the backstabbers, weirdos, etc. Like I said originally, I can understand that people get a little trigger happy when startled. I've done it. But if I don't mean to, I will usually take shit off them real quick and haul ass before they come to, or heal them, apologize, and go about my business (and pray they don't shoot me)

    What server?

Well in that case, if you happen across a hiking trail (they are marked red, blue, or green either by markers on trees, painted on rocks, or if you are on a paved road, you'll see a waist-high white marker pole with the appropriate colored stripe on it), they usually will lead to a covered picnic area, where there is a map on a bulletin board. Sometimes you will find a tourist map in these areas, so if you have a compass and basic map reading skills, you can find anywhere you need to go. Now, I understand what you are saying, but Chernarus is 220 square kilometers, so unless you play it 24/7 for about a year, you MIGHT be able to navigate it without a map. P.S. FWIW, I play on US WD4221
  13. Stagman70

    What server?

Download the iZurvive app for an interactive map of Chenarus.

    Okay guys...WTF?!?!?!

Here are the reasons why: 1. Duping would stop 1a. With duping a non-factor, the handful of players that screw up the CLE wouldn't have the 15 M4s, 20 AKs, thousands of rounds, and 10 guille suits buried throughout the map or on some low pop server that they can simply jump on to real quick to recover their loot. 1b. Without having an endless recoverable stash, people wouldn't be so quick to act the fool, running the risk of actually LOSING what they have scavenged. 2. Bases couldn't be built on, say, the top of a gas station on one server, and the tower/steps to get up to it on another server. This is directly related to having an endless recoverable stash. 3. One couldn't hop from server to server while looking over a military structure and scooping up every last military grade weapon, AGAIN, screwing up the CLE, AND creating the endless recoverable stash. When you run across groups of players, and EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM are dressed the same, ALL have SVDs and suppressed M4s, it is quite obvious that they are dupers. Hell, you have idiots advertising it on the "Groups" tab on the dashboard. I am a firm believer that once the duping glitch is resolved, either with rewritten code or server locking characters, there are going to be a LOT of people that are going to stop playing.
  15. Stagman70

    Okay guys...WTF?!?!?!

Actually, no it hasn't. It's a plurality of douche-bags that make it that way. DayZ was developed as and was meant to be a survival simulator that not only, and I will admit, pushed people into being the "shoot first, talk second" type, but also encourages people to interact with others and work as a team to achieve a common goal.....SURVIVAL, and there is strength in numbers.

    Issues with update 1.0

I play with guys in Nova Scotia, and there are times when either I or they would get laggy, and the other wouldn't..........so, explain that.

    Xbox Launch Update 1.01

HOPEFULLY binoculars will be usable again.
  18. Stagman70

    Issues with update 1.0

I've been in Electro in a medium server and had no problems. Sounds like you have a speed problem. Either that or your playing on a server that's across the pond.
  19. Stagman70

Sorry to sound like a broken record..

This is an XBox discussion board, not PC.
  20. Stagman70

    Okay so this happened.

Unless they have a clan that is 100 strong, they can't build a base that big with all that gear without duping. And to be clear.....duping DOES make then A-Holes.
  21. Stagman70

    where to find them?!

This is the XBox discussion board, not PC.
  22. Stagman70

    Unpopular Opinion

Yeah, dude....ain't gonna happen. HOWEVER, people would be less apt to be butt-holes if they had to pay for every character.
  23. Stagman70

    Tent

Sure, there always is that chance that someone might stumble across it. With that said, we set up the camp, we marked it on our map, and we still had a hard time finding it for about the first week. And, FWIW, it wasn't in a high traffic area, and believe me when I say it took a while to find such a spot.
  24. Stagman70

BI, wipe the game when you fix duping.

So, you stash all your loot on a sparse or empty server so nobody can find it and steal it? Not exactly cheating, but it DEFINITELY not playing fair **cough** SERVER HOPPER **cough**
  25. Stagman70

    Tent

If you put them in strategic spots, they won't get found. Before the update/wipe, we had a couple of tents, a couple barrels, and some camo nets strung up, and we had them for weeks. As soon as I find another tent, I'm heading back to "the spot" and setting up shop again.
