I don't mean to sound like a whiny little bitch, but this shit is getting old. No shit, there I was, chilling in a cabin at a hunting camp. It was night, so I proceeded slowly into the camp. Checked out some cabins, and was going through my gear, getting ready to navigate my way through the zeds meandering around the aide station. I wasn't "geared", but I had accumulated some nice stuff....a Mosin with a scope, about 40 rounds for it, an SKS with about 30 rounds, a Scorpion with a half mag and 2 full, and a handgun. Had PLENTY of food and water to trek across the map and back, and I had my coveted cowboy hat (my headgear of choice). Anyhooooo, there I am, minding my own business, eating an apple, and someone spawned INTO MY CABIN, and IMMEDIATELY opened fire, knocking me out. Now I "might" be able to look past that, perhaps I startled him.....understandable. But why not duct tape or handcuff me, revive me, and rob me (or better yet, say "My bad, homie. Sorry) instead of KILLING ME. Later, after respawning YET AGAIN, I ran into the military camp north of Staroye. As I was going through a tent, I heard footsteps run up. I pulled my shotgun, told the guy I was cool, but I have my gun out and that I would shoot. The guy said that he was cool, and that he was unarmed. I explained that I was a two-time victim of douche-baggery today and that I wasn't gonna take any chances. He informed me that the same thing happened to him, and that he was trying to get back to his guys. I was plenty armed (although I did score another SKS), so I proceeded to help the stranger find some firepower. I found him an FX-45, two loaded mags, and some loose .45 ACP. I offered him my Scorpion and two mags, but he declined, and I was able to shift gear around to accommodate my new found SKS. Anyway, the point to this story is, why do people only play HALF of the game, and completely bypass ANY interaction whatsoever? I know it's a survival game, and I am aware of "survival of the fittest", but here lately it's been "survival of the weapons-grade ass hats". I would like to think that if there ever WAS to be an actual breakdown of society, that there are at least SOME people, like the guy I helped at the camp, still out there.

Dying is part of the learning process/curve. When I first started playing, literally, I died like a dozen times in about 30 minutes.

I'm fine with waiting. If they go and stick NVGs in the game before a (hopeful) fix to the duping, then forget playing at night.

Well, then you comprise the .00001% that DON'T KoS. The cornerstone of the game IS survival, granted, but that does not mean that PvP is soley how to achieve it. PvP is actually about 30%, and PvE (hunger, thirst, weather, zeds, and wolves) make up the other 70%. One can argue that other players can also fall into the "E" category of the PvE I do know where to look, and I can't believe that it's merely my timing being bad.

Nope. The server I play on (where my camp is, as I do not server hop) is generally upper end medium (40) to high (50 to 60). If they weren't duped to the level of insanity, then yes they would. I am quite content with my SKS and scoped CR-527. I have no need for an M4 or AK, although I wouldn't pass one up if I found one. My main beef is that until I came across a base at the train yard north of the NWAF, I couldn't even find a mountain backpack. Lucky for me, there was an assault backpack there. I went to every hunting camp and every tree stand in between them, and found one....ONE.....box of .308. I took it, but will probably never find a Tundra. You see, it's not just guns....it's everything.....guns, vests, backpacks, ammo (other than shotgun). I know that tactics have to change. As I'm going from town to town, I scan the trees.....found several tents. Nothing in them, but around them were buried stashes, but I don't currently have a shovel. I have come across a couple bases.....scout them out for a bit, then go in. Usually nothing there. Not that it matters because I don't have an M4, but over the past 2 or 3 weeks, I have only seen a handful of 5.56. Now, when NVGs get introduced into the game, then that's gonna change things dramatically. The dupers will ensure that THEY are the only ones that have them, then traveling at night will even be out of the question. Twice in one post you assume to know me.....but I digress. When running solo and there is a group of 3 or 4, avoiding contact is the only option, as 99.99999% of all players KoS, and don't even TRY to interact. Bottom line is this.......there are those that play the game, there are those that CHEAT the game, and there are those that look the other way.

Actually, I think I WILL continue to complain about dupers because they are ruining the game. Nobody ever said that they wouldn't "risk it for the biscuit". Running solo into the NWAF, or Tisy, or Troiskoe, or Zelenigorsk is risky in of itself, and there is nothing there. Again, as a solo most of the time, I see a group of 3 or 4, there's risk and there's suicide. So, what you are basically saying is that it's okay to cheat? Those sound like the words of a cheater to me.

If DayZ was an FPS, then I'd say "good job".

Then night will be impossible to play for those of us that DON'T dupe gear. I will guess it will take less that 12 hours after the next update for NVGs to be duped into extinction.

How can you server hop if your existing character is bound to the server you're on?

I would say that night is okay, but days need to be longer. This 2 to 1 ratio is a little ridiculous. I agree that perhaps 3:1 would definitely be an improvement.

Locked servers would stop it. It actually IS that simple. What's not good for the game in the long term is cheaters being allowed to continue to cheat. I really, truly, couldn't give a rat's ass if dupers get banned and it pisses them off.

Yet ANOTHER reason to character lock servers.

They have a tower built on another server. They use it to get up top, then server hop to the base.

When raiding a base, time is NOT a luxury. You gotta move in and get out FAST. With that said, next time, take what you want/need, then grab everything that you can carry, take it OUT of the base, and drop it in the woods so it will DESPAWN.

There is a post on the forum about one RP server that I'd like to check out. Does anybody have a list of WHICH OTHER servers focus on RP?

PvP is half of the game. Humans ARE less than trusting. I don't think this game is for you. Maybe Farm Simulator is more up your alley.

IMHO, the ones that say that dupers aren't ruining the game are dupers themselves.

One thing is for sure.......I really don't want to see gear like NVGs introduced into the game UNTIL duping and server hopping is addressed.

That, and actually FINDING A RADIO.

Don't know, but if so, that would cost them LESS than word of mouth and people NOT BUYING the game in the first place that maybe otherwise WOULD.

Would you like to see a percentage of servers be character locked?

I haven't experience any lag like others are talking about, but there is one thing that does concern me. When players log into a server, that can cause momentary lag issues, and with 23 servers going offline next week, that traffic will be higher, and possibly worse lag issues. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

In support of what Max is saying...........What people don't seem to understand is that we all know that there are issues with the game. What makes these issues "game breaking" are the PLAYERS that take advantage of them. Voicing an opinion is one thing.......bashing the developers is another. Some of the commenters on this forum like to talk like they know how to develop a video game, when in reality, they don't know jack. This is a complicated game, with practically an infinite number of variables. Just give it time, people....or don't. Uninstall it, move on, and complain about another game on another forum.
