I don't think it would make a difference if they communicated more. Console gamers have always been spoilt by the lack of bugs in games as they used to be released on cartridges without internet connectivity. With the modern age, we've moved closer to PC games. Unfortunately the gamers themselves haven't. They still expect polished games. It was never going to happen. Instead of looking for a demo, gamers should do some research on a game beforehand. I knew it would be buggy, why are so many others so surprised ?

I've had that happen once, I had to save the footage to playback and see where the gun went. The gun just disappeared out of existence from my shoulder equipped slot. Thankfully it was just an SK5.

Does Blue Screen on PS4 need a fix ASAP?
etaab replied to FirefighterSFVFD_1's topic in New Player Discussion
True, I've blue screened for what seems no reason at times, two of us on an empty server running across an empty field them BAM ! I just think it's an issue with server to client miscommunication. Which is more common when the server gets more full or theres more action on screen. -

I see to be blue screening more regularly now, about once every 4 hour session. I think it's because my server is getting more popular, it's often medium or high population now. -
Yes you can. It also removes the need for a universal flashlight too, so you don't have to search longer before you get your NV working. On my main account, I use a full ghillie suit with NV headstreap and it works great. I just have to remember to remove it during the day, otherwise the NV goggles stick up off your head and are visible through the ghillie hood.

Does Blue Screen on PS4 need a fix ASAP?

I'm sure whoever said no, wont want to talk about it here. I answered yes, even though it doesn't affect me anywhere near as often as other players. But it definitely needs fixing soon as it's very inconvenient and can result in losing your progress. I've only blue screened once I think when I was running from a zombie. Luckily, a friend dispatched the zombie before it hand chance to kill my unattended being. -
No i play on a regular PS4 from 2014. So it's old. That's why I believe it's nothing to do with the consoles but the servers themselves. I've just come off a 2 hour session, crashed once just before I logged off. I was entering a small outbuilding when my friend triggered a Z, for some reason it froze my console up. But by that time id played for 2 hours so not bad at all.

See, BI do listen guys. -
Yes, once damaged you cannot repair them. They go from brown grass texture, to ginger orange colour. I'm not sure if you can use a bit of duct tape to repair them, since I haven't damaged mine yet, since 1.05. But before the latest patch you definitely could not. When in ghillie, just avoid combat, that's you best bet to maintain its condition. The spray paint isn't in the PS4 version yet. We will get it eventually, no doubt.

I think I've just turned into sam Fisher on this game. I run around with my combat knife most of the time with my black clothing and NV goggles. I was in Pavlovo military base recently however, the situation went south very quickly and I had shoot about 15 zombies, it was the most gunfire I'd used in weeks. Luckily, I was using a silenced USG so other players were not drawn to the action.

The blue screen issue is not console related, it's the server and how it talks to your consoles. It happens when the NET CODE of the game isn't properly handled between the server and console. The console then does not know what to do with missing or conflicting information, loses synchronisation with the server and closes the app (Dayz). Anyone who knows anything about programming net code knows it happens because it has not been fully optimised for the device the app is being run on. I blue screened twice yesterday in a short space of time, it happened when I was on my usual server but there were about 45 players on, so it came as no surprise it blue screened on me. -
And after a couple of shots, they're useless anyway. I find not shooting your gun often is better than using a suppressor. Melee combat versus zombies is usually quieter and doesn't give you position away.
-
In my experience, the ghillie is only ever brown on PS4 and cannot currently be spray painted green. When you take damage, it'll slowly turn more ginger coloured and has less detail in it, so basically you end up running around like a ginger bigfoot if you take too much damage. When using ghillie avoid zombies and all melee combat to maintain its condition.

I believe they're already aware of it. I didn't believe reporting it would be worthwhile duplicating the same ticket someone else will have reported probably a hundred times. The point of my comment was to simply highlight the simplicity of how dupers manage to do it.

It might have been me who raided your base, we hit two last night ! Guys please can you post the servers you play on ? As someone who rarely experiences these issues, I'd like do some testing of my own. I played from 10am to 2pm today, UK time, on EU DE 4445. During that time, I was shocked to blue screen twice in 4 hours. I usually blue screen once a week if at all. So if I can replicate your issues more regularly, I might be able to offer help as the servers i play on this rarely happens.

I have to say one thing, I'm not a duper. I've never intentionally duped anything. However the other day, i wont say what happened as i don't want to teach others how to do what I did indirectly, but I did dupe a gun by accident due to a technical issue. It illustrated to me one thing, it's far easier than I imagined. I didn't try replicating what happened, but I now understand its reasonably easy. No wonder the game is ruined slightly by dupers, it's not like its very hard at all. BI need to get their anti cheating measures into place and fix these easy exploits.

Loot Economy Possibly Messed up on PS4
etaab replied to FirefighterSFVFD_1's topic in New Player Discussion
Well, the items I stash i don't believe are limited by quantity. So I don't believe they're damaging the game. Yes I've got some guns buried, but only a couple of rare ones, mainly KA guns. I have SGK, USG, Tundra and Mosin guns mostly buried. I just like the idea of being able to gear up quickly after losing a character. -

I'm as guilty as him when it comes to burying loot. I've got a few back up guns buried as well as a spare ghillie, food, tools and supplies. Hell, for every active player base we discover we usually bury a hacksaw, pliers, splitting axe and duct tape within 200m so we're always ready to break in when the time is right. I've even got a dry bags buried on my server full of duct tape, lockpicks, leather repair kits, magazines for every gun there is and car parts. Surely the idea of burying loot is part of the survival experience. And yes, I've multiple accounts, a main, a secondary and a back up "mule" I use to carry loot across the map whilst my main character stays at its tactical location. I think I'm just well organised and using the full potential of what's possible rather than damaging the game. -
I don't have a server, but my friend does. He can't find anything good on his server either. The point is however, he only bought his server a few days ago and didn't give anyone the password. So, hes under the impression rare weapons are just that now in the private servers, rare. They don't spawn as easily as they used to.
-
I can only assume it's the server you guys are using. A lot of these bugs I get too, but they're rare and I usually only have to relog once per 4 - 5 hour session, or sometimes not at all. I've played on other servers and had worse experiences, so I always go back to the same few I use.

Are you definitely sure it was the correct magazine? It might be worth checking the Dayz wiki page. Is the weapon dirty ? It may need cleaning with a cleaning kit or duct tape. I've never found a gun that has the gun mag glitch. I'd suggest maybe someone got there before you and replaced their rifle with a glitched one. To avoid the gun mag glitch, ensure your mags are full and load them into the gun when in the inventory screen by equipping the gun to your hands, then highlighting the mag and pressing circle to equip it. This stops the gun mag glitch in 100% of my group's testing. We only reload guns when in a fire fight with other players by holding triangle. Only then is the risk of the mag becoming stuck in the gun outweighs the risk of dying and losing your progress. Since we started loading mags through the inventory, we've not had a single gun jam on us.

Its not just about burying stuff, but choosing a good spot to hide them is key. I find a forest works best, with usually on a route nobody would pass through much as it doesn't lead to any key towns or villages. I often have to enter a forest at a specific spot before heading a direction and counting trees or rocks to where the stash is then bury it under long grass or a bush so the dark spot can't be seen easily. I've not had a single stash found by other players and they've been buried since the character wipe at the start of August.
-
How often do they despawn? Mine has been sat there for about 2+ weeks (I haven't got round to repairing it since I crashed due to lag).
-
1. That's what I heard also, but as long as you interact with it before the timer expires it should stay buried. Dry bags are my only stashes, i dont trust bases with barrels or storing items in cars. I have all sorts of weapons buried, not duped but found legitimately. If they despawn I wouldn't be too upset as I carry the most valuable weapons on me first and use what's in my dry bags as replacements if I die. 2. I don't think so, but I always duct tape them back to working condition before burying. I've never had one fail on me yet 3. Again i don't think so. I've about 15 dry bags buried around the map and I routinely visit them all 4. No. Sure it does help dupers hide stuff, but it's part of the game. If they remove that feature to prevent dupers, I would be fine with that.

Just checked both my characters, no issues with mine. So you're not a fresh spawn, you're literally loaded in as someone else with someone else's progress ?
