Which shed exactly, I'd like to see if I can replicate this. I've searched thousands of sheds over the last 5 months and not had an issue.

Stashes in persistant servers on surface or underground?
etaab replied to dexic's topic in Troubleshooting
They will despawn after a set amount of time, usually a few hours. Or following server restarts. The exact amount of time isn't published as far as I know. ALWAYS bury your drybag stashes, that's the only way of keeping them permanently. Either that or place them in barrels, sea chests or wooden storage boxes. Dry bags must be buried for them to remain on the server. -
On my secondary account, on my character i always carry a shovel and quite often a hacksaw. The whole point of my second character is to hunt bases, ferry items back to my main character (this limiting danger to him) and to ensure I've always got the tools to get the job done. I recommend always having more than one character. It makes the game a whole lot more easy finding items when you can cover both ends of the map at the same time.

You can, I did it the same day I last replied!

It's probably that it's too close to the walls. Normally a shovel will empty it, then you can pack it flat and move it. Also when outside, other players tend to bury items under them in the ground so look out for that too. Have you tried approaching the barrel from the opposite side of the house wall? Sometimes if a barrel is too close to a wall, you can take items out through the wall.

A Question For the More Experianced Players
etaab replied to generalmayhem's topic in New Player Discussion
I love playing at night time ! Nothing better than having the added sense of dread lurking in the darkness that something or someone is watching you. If I have to navigate at night using a light source, I recommend sticking to the train tracks. They will take you on a large circle around Cherno, you just need to figure out where to get off. I've had NV goggles for weeks now, they revolutionise the nights. Now, i prefer night as I can loot anywhere with only a small chance of getting shot at by other players. Anyone who avoids night is only getting about two thirds of what the game is meant to be about and how its played, imo. -
We always check a large circle around bases, many times we've found players buried stashes also. Dupers base or just a legit base, they're built to hold items and that's why I break in.

The duct tape glitch is slightly fixed. If you bind a friends hands using a duct tape that's partially used, when your friend wriggles free, he gets a full duct tape in return. Rinse and repeat for unlimited duct tape.

Silly question, but are the batteries wet ? I noticed I couldn't equip a battery when it was raining as I believe the batteries were soaked.

I've never used the other ghillie items as I read they're pointless and not as good camo. I just craft the suit, hood and rifle wraps and that covers me up very well. Vest ? I usually go for a black assault / field vest. I usually wear hunters clothing under mine as that's dark camo also. You can find them at hunting lodges on izurvive as a tent symbol.

I don't mind the bleeding, as the game does not show you the severity of the injury. I believe you have to determine that yourself by watching how quick your blood drops. I've had 1 cut before and my blood has dropped very slowly. Then another time I got 1 cut and I bled out within about 20 seconds. So I don't think 1 cut means you lose a set amount per second, then stacks. I think some cuts are not as serious as others. Walking barefoot whilst is horrendous in real life, doesn't cut your feet almost instantly like it does in Dayz. That part is a bit over the top.

It can help. We've dropped items in tents or barrels before and not been able to take them out. Then we return 12 or 24 hours later after a server restart or two, then we're able to take them easily. It's strange, but it does work eventually.

Hell no ! Anyone who remembers Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising on PS3 will know just how badly that idea went. OK so Bohemia didn't pay someone else to do it, Codemasters took it upon themselves to try to emulate what Bohemia do. And failed. Trust me, only Bohemia can make Dayz a success, any other developer will ruin it. I'd rather have a few bugs to deal with than just a bad game full stop.

Works for me. Don't touch any keys until the world around you is fully visible. It's annoying, but not breaking the game.

A friend of mine blue screened today. First time in 3 days since he downloaded the game. Not bad. Ive frozen a few times when logging into a session as I try to move the camera too soon before the world loads in. That certainly needs fixing.
-
I've only ever been knocked out twice and that was when I got shot both times. I fight loads of zombies and they've got hits on me, I'm surprised you're getting knocked out so easily.

Well, there were UK servers, but they got migrated to DE servers. I was worried this would increase lag, but it hasn't IMO. Since my main server went from an EU UK to EU DE I haven't had any problems. I think generic EU servers are fine for us UK guys to use.

Well, the bad news is, the PC version of Livonia still has bugs. Watch some of usual youtubers videos, you'll see theres bugs. So the question is, would you buy it with bugs, or would it need to be bug free ?

I've found lots of guns now, too many to count, but sadly they're always either in another players stash or on someone I've shot. For me, duping isn't breaking the game at the moment. I'm still able to find decent weapons by those other means, just making the game stable would keep me happy. Since this patch the other day, the sea looks dreadful and the game is more jerky than before the patch. I do agree BI should probably invest more I'm bug fixes rather than DLC.
-
Well, I rarely run into other players at night as many leave the server, so I don't worry about sniping at night. I do however use the AK-M with a 1PN51 scope, which is a night vision scope with 3.5x magnification. If I need to shoot someone far, I use that at night.
-
Nice one, had me going there! I'm glad you're happy with it.

After yesterday's update: played for 5 hours last night, 2 hours this morning and no blue screening at all. Everything works fine. Only difference I noticed was the game is a little jerky for the first few minutes and if the game is slower at loading items in, as you move around the game jerks a bit but this disappears after a few minutes. Overall pretty happy with the stability but still some frame rate issues in towns and villages.

I honestly don't see why you have problem about my comments. I never said there were no bugs and never dismissed them as not evident. Quite a lot ot misinterpretation going on there! I said I expected it to be buggy, as did anyone who followed the development cycle right up to version 1.0. I was surprised it was even released when it was, it seemed to come out of the blue when the game didn't seem fit for sale. But hey, it's all just opinion. My opinion is the game is more playable now than ever. Since yesterday's update I've not blue screened once. I haven't needed to relog once, everything for me works. That's not me dismissing anyone, that's my experience. I'm sorry my game isn't broke like yours, but that's not my problem. Regarding them communicating more, I don't think it would help matters as the person representing the developer would be swamped with issues. Issues are better posted and addressed by the developer without making promises on the forum. All companies do this, i don't see why BI would be any different.

1. I've never had a VSD in a public server as they're all duped, but I love the M70 Tundra. The ammo is really easy to find, the gun has a 12x magnification when combined with a hunting scope. The shots usually kill instantly. 2. I always make sure I zero in on the distance. So using a range finder, if they're 250m away i set my scope to 200m. I never over zero, otherwise the bullet is likely to go over their head. If they're close, around 300m away or less I will aim for the head. Any further and will aim for the best as it's a bigger target. After they're down, I often put another round in them to ensure they don't get back up. The .308 Winchester round is large enough to kill anything. 3. Where you choose to snipe from has little effect on the result in my opinion. For me, a good position is one where I'm safe from someone creeping up on me, I'm hard to see and when I do shoot, zombies aren't going to get at me and other players find it hard to guess my location. After a kill, i always move on to another location once I'm satisfied I'm not compromised. I've hidden in the middle of fields, in trees, bushes, even inside buildings with tiny windows to see out of from great distance.

As someone with about 2% of the same amount of bugs as the guys posting on this forum, I'll report back later when I get online to see if they've addressed the issue from my point of view.
