Players stuck with black screen until they starve

i had a similar experience last night, i am a new player so loaded my character and was greeted with pitch black screen, no keys worked at all so no inventory movement or escape, i had to alt del out of the game in the end i uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and all was fine. afterwards i was told to try deleting the dayz folder in my docs then have steam check the files and it would of been alright. -
Played around tonight not too seriously, just getting myself used to the controls/keys etc however i did meet a few players and they all decided to punch my face in so much so that my red cross at the bottom right started to empty and flash i guess this meant i was dying, tried a rag to see if that done anything and it did not, so question is what do i do to stop the cross from emptying and me dying? also would be nice if older players at least let us noobs get the hang of the game b4 attacking, once i am experienced trust me i will shoot first :) cheers

cheers for the advice people. do you have in game stats as such like how manky kills/deaths you have?

will try this next time, i uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it and its now working

i am experiencing this today, not sure how to reset anything when keys do not respond in game?

i got injured today (new player 1 day in) and also could not find away to use the rags which were in my hands, the only instruction i had when i left pressed the mouse was remove gag?? i ended up bleeding to death which was made more frustrating because i had just found a bloody rifle.
