They probably panicked and just unloaded their guns in your general direction, depending solely on their crosshairs for aiming. Their skill in shooting explains their being bandits on the coast.

I would probably play the PC version mainly for myself, but then a console version with friends and family I know who are very interested in DayZ, but are strictly console gamers.

I am also for this. The inclusion of NPCs in the singleplayer mode would also be cool. Like friendly survivors that you can trade with, and hostile bandits who you could have random encounters with.

I like how a player's first reaction when being mass teleported somewhere with other players is to panic and shoot everyone.

39 days. That character is still alive on public servers, I just don't really use it anymore. -

DayZ will probably be one of the best zombie survival games out there for quite some time. And even though the stand alone is going to be coming out and everyone will be moving away from the mod, you still have Arma. If you're into miliary games, this is definitely something also worth trying out. :) -

I would go get a ton of the necessary supplies (food, water, medical, ammo etc.) and go hide in a hole somewhere. -
I won't kill an unarmed survivor if they obviously have just spawned, but if I find them much farther into the map, I will. It's much less likely to find a survivor who traveled across the map without having a weapon stashed away somewhere. I learned that lesson when I ran into an unarmed survivor in a city and let him go, only for him to go around a corner, pull out a pistol and begin to open fire on me.

Spawned in the woods west of Berezino and there happened to be a neaby heli crash site with two DMRs and plenty of ammo. :) -

This game has given me the most genuine feelings than any other game I own. Never have I gotten such an adrenaline rush from a confrontation with another player, and that feeling is what makes me keep coming back. -
Another thought: we can all go poop in notorious snipers spots and force them to lay in it if they want to sit there and wait for survivors. :)

I should do this to the character I currently have on the official hive. I probably won't be using it much when standalone comes out, so I should go make some use of all the ammo I've saved up for my DMR. :)

Ok, if pooping actually does become part of the game, will there be anything left behind? And if so, how long would it remain there? I would be pretty shocked if I entered a building in a high traffic area only to find the rooms full of shit from all the players before me.

After being a friendly survivor for so long, I decided to try out the bandit life and find it quite exciting, I only do this on certain servers though. So currently, I love hunting down other survivors. -

I live near a military base and get excited everytime I see one of their helicopters fly by. -
Must be able to camouflage the tree house, otherwise I see it being a target. Also, I really do hope the ladders would be retractable, because zombies climb ladders. If a zombies climb that ladder, you're screwed if you don't have an escape route.

I did think about this when making that post, but I also thought the devs would have a bit of difficulty adding possible arterial damage to the player's legs. Maybe if there was a small area on the leg, which when hit, has a chance to cause nonstop bleeding unless addressed with the proper medical supplies. Again, that may or may not be a difficult thing to pull off.
