    Noob group!

    Times, and servers?
  2. I was making my way to the air field up North in the hopes of finding a better gun than my revolver. I had some binoculars, so I decided to scout the area before entering, since there would likely be some gun crazy bandit running about. I didn't have a clear line of sight of the tower, so I decided to run a little bit until I could get a better view. While I was crouch running, I noticed that I ran a lot faster with binoculars in my hand. It doesn't work with prone, and I rarely stand up anymore so idk about that, but I might use this more often when traveling great distances. Just thought this was interesting and decided to share. :)

    Barb wire and other Blockades!

The barbed wire doesn't seem to stop the zombies either. They just walk through it; that saddens me.

Zeds in buildings. Bug or on purpuse?

I have never cared much for empty cans and bottles until the latest patches. Now it seems to be a good idea to always have at least one on hand. Aside from distracting zombies, I throw them at hospital windows to silently break them. Well, it's definitely more quiet than a gun. The only down side is, every single bottle of Jack Daniel's is empty. :(

    Pleas provide, full control list

I went into the controls and changed everything to what I felt most comfortable with. I suggest this for you too if you're having trouble. You can even disable controls that you don't think you'll ever be usuing.

Help people learning how to play DayZ

I don't think an introduction screen is necessary, but maybe if tips could be displayed every now and then (during loading screens and such) would be helpful. I don't think it's absolutely necessary to be added now, but everyone learns something new from a tip sometimes.

My First Day With 1.7.1.4 ...

To my surprise, I crawled into a construction site (the building was PACKED with zombies), cooked some meat even though a zombie was standing next to me, and crawled out without a fight. Don't get me wrong though, I was scared sh**less the whole time.

    REVERT

I personally love the way it is now. Sometimes it seems a little ridiculous when a zombie picks up my crouch walking from the other side of a building, but I know it won't be that way forever. The way it is now gives the player the sense of danger. It gives them a message that zombies have taken over and that they can actually die, very quickly. It also brings a bigger sense of achievement when you manage to gather a bunch of sweet gear and actually do pretty well for yourself. Because it doesn't just feel like it's being handed to you anymore.

[VIDEO] It seems the bandits are worse

The thing is, a lot of people who kill other players are people who wouldn't typically do such a thing. I think part of the problem is the lack of side channel on some servers. A lot of people are just killing out of paranoia. I like to help people out, so if I see that someone is having trouble, I'll apporach and try to help them out. I know direct chat has a range of 40m, but people usually start firing long before you get to that distance. I've had to kill a lot of people in self defense when all I tried to do was help. I think they just assumed I was a bandit and I couldn't tell them otherwise.
  10. I'm relatively new to this game as well, though I started playing right before they took away the Makarovs at spawn. I did the whole Rambo thing. I ran through cities, racked up ammo, food, drinks, you name it. I do admit that I enjoyed it, a lot, but I also enjoy the way it is now. You can't just go wandering into a large town or city anymore without proper protection, but you don't need to. If you know where to look, you can actually get by just fine without blazing a trail through a city. Factories are good places to find a hatchet, I find one almost every time I go to one. Houses and apartments can sometimes have guns. I found an M1911 with ammo in a random house outside of town. If you pick up tools like a hunting knife, you can hunt animals and cook your own food. A canteen can be refilled, so you have a constant supply of water. I've had a character survive over a day (he's still alive) without even going to town. And I have plenty of food and water. The only time you really need to get into a town or city is for guns/ammo/medical supplies. And if you understand a zombie's behavior, and what it takes to be detected, it's not hard sneaking around them at all.

    Introduce yourselves

Tabris07 here (same name in the game) Like to team up with others and provide any help I can, although it's been a bit more difficult to do that with the general lack of side channel. :P I'm usually on Chicago 37, 38, and 41, but I also go on others if the version is correct and there is room.
