    PC 1.0 Release Date Announcement

Well, they have less than a week to fix these remaining major issues in the game (in no particular order of importance): Persistence wipes (having bases or parts thereof getting wiped post-1.0 will dwindle the community in no time for sure) VOIP bug (whilst you can play the game without VOIP, it is beyond annoying to have to communicate either via chat or in a lot of cases, via bullets) Teleporting zombies (while I like that they are more aggressive recently, having Dean zip instantly to my position from 100ft away to ruin my backpack makes me salty to say the least) Zombies spawning next to me (I enter the tent, nobody there, I begin looting, turn to my right and grandma starts kicking the shit out of me -- why grandma, why?) Server instability (some days they seem solid, other days, they are crashing on a regular basis -- feels like there's code running amok sometimes, don't it?) These are by no means the only issues in the game right now, but if they can fix these ones by Thursday, which of course I doubt highly, it would at least be a decent enough 1.0 to build upon. If these issues are present in 1.0, then quite frankly, shame on you Bohemia for not having the balls to simply say "guys, we're going to delay the release as we need more time to fix some major issues still present in the latest build." Fingers crossed!

    Server hopping?

I doubt anything will be done about it since it'll be a moot point in less than a week. Once 1.0 is out, I should think nobody will be building bases on official servers.

    PC 1.0 Release Date Announcement

Not sure how you can say that given what's happened in the past 12 months. I certainly feel let down. Do I still love the game and will I continue to play it into 2019? Sure, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about the way things are. I'm sorry, but to release a game that has a significant number of missing features and components that, in some cases, were present in the original EA build 5 years ago is nothing short of ridiculous. Sure, we'll get there eventually...it'll be perhaps version 1.5 or thereabouts and may not be until this time next year or sometime in 2020 even, but yes, we'll get there -- assuming they actually do continue to develop DayZ and not just give us some bug fixes and one round of new features and then call it a day sometime in early 2019 at version 1.1 so that they can reassign staff onto something else (*cough* Arma IV *cough*). But do I feel let down by BI? Yes, indeed I do, for this is not the 1.0 they said they'd deliver.

Fix the Forced Night Issue on PC Please!!!

I'm playing around with server files on my laptop -- gonna wait till early next year before renting a server -- but a workaround for this is to use multiple init files setup with different times and then add a copy statement to make the desired time the active init.c file. Here's the code I use in my batch file: set hour=%time:~0,2% if %hour% lss 10 set hour=%hour: =0% cd\ cd "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZServer" copy serverDZ.%hour% serverDZ.cfg /y cd mpmissions cd dayzOffline.chernarusplus copy init.%hour% init.c /y So, for example, I have an init.08 file that has this line in it: GetGame().GetWorld().SetDate(2018, 6, 22, 8, 0); So, with the above script, when I copy init.08 and make it the active init.c and then start the server, it's 8:00am. I know you want the devs to do this, but until they do, this (or something similar) can keep your server always daytime.

    Stable Update

Based on the feedback of the patch released today, NO. I'm thinking the next stable update will actually be 1.0 itself!

    BI Needs to Postpone 1.0

Personally, I think this is exactly the reason -- it's out on one console, but not the other -- the BI execs want those PS4 sales. As long as regular updates to the game on all platforms continue into 2019 (and hopefully beyond), I think it'll get there eventually. It won't be the 1.0 we wanted, but it'll have to do for now.

    tent disappeared

The server setup comes into play here I would bet. I downloaded the server files and I have a server running here on my laptop (so, I have client and server on the same machine) and I've had a tent setup in the woods for more than 48 hours now and it has all kinds of loot in it and it's all still there. My fireplace did vanish though and its replacement bugged, so I've built 3 of them now and have a ruined axe and hatchet, so more looting to do! It seems that some servers are wiping on restart while others aren't -- I haven't really been restarting in any official way -- I just taskkill the server .exe file and then start it up again with the batch file. Doing it that way, so far anyway, no wipes and I have a script that restarts it like that every 2 hours, so I've restarted it probably a dozen times at least already.

    Which version?

These days, they are essentially the same version. The devs have been posting the newest patch to Exp first, but regardless how buggy it is, it gets moved to Stable in about 24 hours.

    Hotfix Today?

"This game is not ready to have a serious community built around it." 1.0 is only about 20 days away -- it better get ready pretty quick!

    Usable Vehicles

I realize the current stable build has many issues at the moment and the focus of the devs should be to stabilize before the release next month, but one thing I would like to see, at some point, is a change in the philosophy of the vehicle spawns. Since there are only a limited number of vehicles spawning, I think the state they are in is a bit harsh. I found one last night on the east side of the map, but it was basically missing everything. I searched the surrounding area for about half an hour and found only one tire. I still needed everything else (3 more tires, spark plug, etc.) You teased us with those Stress Tests where we were able to drive cars without looting anything -- now, the pendulum has swung completely the other way and getting a car actually working seems ridiculously difficult. I think most of the cars should spawn with only a limited number of things missing and have a small percentage chance (say 25%) that it spawns ready to drive. Given the stamina system, having working vehicles needs to be more of a thing than it is now -- I don't expect every vehicle to work every time, but I should be able to approach it, see that all it's missing is one, maybe two things and boom -- I'm excited -- I now have a new primary goal for this DayZ session (beyond staying alive, of course) that seems achievable -- find those couple of things and I'm in business. As it stands now, I walk up to a vehicle, see that it's missing more than half of its required components (and in some cases, is missing everything) and I simply move along. I should have to spend only a small amount of time on looking for vehicle components, not my entire session. Please consider dialing back the harshness of the vehicle spawns at some point in a future patch. Thanks for reading this.
