    I asked this in your SR thread and didn't receive an answer, so I'll ask it again here. If feature development is continuing, why not publish a list of features being developed? Why leave us all to speculate which parity-related things we might still get and which ones have now been scrapped? In the SR, you posted an image of what appeared to be a character climbing/vaulting a wall. So, that's great, we'll be getting climbing/vaulting at some point. Wonderful. Why can't you simply give us a list of the rest of the things you plan to develop as a feature? I'm sorry but I agree with @rickyriot 100% about this -- other video game companies are able to provide this information, why can't BI do it?

    Yeah, if you download and install DayZ Server from Steam Tools, then look at events.xml under the mpmissions folder, you'll see what the default lifetime value is.

    The child portions are listing the two types of heli crashes you can have. So, with the numbers you've got in the above snippit from the events.xml, you should be getting at least 1 type of each spawning, but nominally, you should have closer to 5 of each spawning. This is depending on having at least 10 spawn locations in the cfgeventspawns.xml file. You should check that too and make sure you have at least 10 and if not, add some (if you didn't touch it from the default install, then it's fine). And yes @ThePugman you read that correctly -- with these settings, the helis would despawn after just under 42 minutes. I had a server going for a while and for performance reasons, I had it set for scheduled restart every 2 hours. In my case, I changed the lifetime value here to 7100, so that helis would be around until just before the restart.

    @Tom_48_97 We appreciate the revised update, but I still don't understand what is so difficult about providing the community a list of INTENDED features yet to come and a list of parity items now off the table. You can simply add the caveat that the upcoming features list is not to be taken as written in stone and that Bohemia reserves the right to delay or eliminate any item on the list. At least that would be better than leaving us all to speculate what items we were hoping to have that we may no longer have -- surely you can see that will just lead to more disappointment, can't you? You guys are like the doctor having to tell the patient that he's dying of an incurable disease -- rather than just come out and say it, he beats around the bush, talking about possible success rates with chemical treatments, physiotherapy, etc. Just tell me how long I've got, doc! Please reconsider this decision and publish some list of what we can hope to receive in the future. Apparently, vaulting/climbing is coming at some point. Awesome. What else?

    Server Shutdown

    Yeah, you definitely don't want to be forcing it to end as that will mess with your persistence and potentially wipe some of the things you've placed in the world like bases, cars, etc. Have you checked the logs in both DayZ and the Windows Server logs as well? Right after you issue the normal taskkill command, is anything being logged about what the server is doing at that moment? When I was a running a server, it would sometimes take 6 to 15 seconds for the shutdown process to complete before the exe itself would disappear as a running process. Are you by chance just not waiting long enough for it to finish?

    Underground utilities!

    What...200+ square kms is not big enough for you? 😋 It would be a cool addition, but it'll have to come from the modded community. Who knows, maybe this new DLC map we're gonna get will have underground stuff.
  7. That's for you (and me too), but not everybody is like us. Some people need extra help and even a simple in-game glossary showing all the health icons, what they mean and in the case of sickness, what the player needs to do in order to rectify the health issue would really be helpful, IMO. Sure, you can Alt-Tab out of the game and start watching YouTube videos, but wouldn't it be better to maybe type something like "/help health" in the chat box and have some text or image appear? One of the things that first attracted me to DayZ was the fact that you spawn somewhere and back in the original engine days, there was nothing on your screen at first. It was you standing in some open space with no direction whatsoever. I loved that -- here you are, you're in it now dude, get to it. But remember, after a few minutes, that engine would prompt "I am thirsty" to the user, so I think something similar to someone struggling to figure out what to do would be a welcome addition.

This would imply that it is explained in game somewhere, but nobody understood the explanation. You can't say you're struggling to do something if you haven't even done it once. Is it really that complex even? Things can make you sick and then you need to loot and ingest medicine to make you not sick. There you go, explained it in one sentence. A lame excuse indeed.
  10. I think the key part of that statement is "modding support". I think what's going to happen is they'll continue to fix the bugs, tweak things here and there and add more abilities for the modding community who are now the ones responsible for finishing this game.

DayZ does not have that complicated a medical system and you're 100% correct -- a simple tutorial or a help menu to explain what the little symbol that just popped up means and what you need to do to medicate it would suffice. Now SCUM has a complicated system -- first day I saw that screen, I got a headache! 😋

    @ImpulZ I think we all appreciate the communication and update, but can we please stop the cloak and dagger aspects to these reports already? Why does Bohemia constantly do this to its fans? We are fans of your game, do you not get that? Telling us there will be DLC and then not explaining what it is. Telling us there will be more features, yet apparently, some of the stuff that was in .62 is never coming back. So, is this new features that were never previously in the game? Please elaborate! How long must we wait now until we find out these things? Let me guess...we won't know what the DLC is until the day it's available for purchase, assuming we'll have to pay for it, which you also haven't made clear here. Let me guess... we also won't know what features are still to come until the Experimental Update posting of it whenever that happens. Can you not simply provide us a revised list of planned features to be implemented in 1.05 and beyond? We don't need dates per say, as in we're working to have such-n-such implemented by 1.05, then this thing by 1.06 -- just give us an idea of what you mean by "features". Please give us a list of what is yet to come and what is now off the table, so we're all on the same page here. Please, for the love of God, enough with the vagueness of these SRs.

    I don't know what your experiences are with DayZ servers, but do you have any idea how many crashes could occur on a server in 15 hours? All it takes is one crash to corrupt persistence and cars could disappear. It doesn't matter how empty or full the server is, a server could crash even if it's empty if, for example, the CLE tried to spawn something it couldn't find. Until server crashes are fully resolved, persistence disappearances will continue, unfortunately. DayZ Standalone servers have been crashing for about 6 years at this point, so I wouldn't bet on this problem ending anytime soon.

    When you say "after restart", do you mean you were playing and suddenly received the red error "No message received for x seconds" in the middle of your screen? If so, that was not a server restart, that was a server crash and crashes can sometimes cause persistence issues which can cause some or all of the persistence items, cars included, to vanish when the server comes back up. A server restart is where you don't get that red message, but instead are suddenly sent back to the menu screen with a message saying "You were kicked from the game". In those cases, cars shouldn't vanish because that was a graceful exit of the server exe where persistence should not have been corrupted.
  15. Now that the throwing mechanic is back in the game, hopefully bows and arrows aren't far behind since it's essentially the same type of motion -- you use the bow to "throw" the arrow, kind of. The tricky part for them might be how to code having the arrow attach itself to a player or to one of the AI if your shot is on. Bullets register damage, but give no visual reference other than ruining clothes/gear and of course, making you bleed, whereas an arrow strike should register visually, so having it become an attachment somehow to show that your shot hit might be difficult. Another issue could be the arrow falling through the map in the case of missed shots that hit the ground. I hope it's the case that an arrow that missed its target can be picked up by the target and fired back at the sender -- how cool would that be -- someone tires to kill you with his arrow and you pick it up, then grab your bow and kill him with it instead. I'm sure there's still lots of work to be done on bows and arrows, but I'm hoping we get them back in the game sometime before the end of the year. All I want for Christmas is a bow and arrow battle in Namalsk -- that's not much to ask for, is it? 😋

    Why i would prefer bikes over cars

    Well, given they seem to be focusing their recent development efforts on things related to their new "BR mode" version of the game, my guess would be...no time soon. Of course, you could make the argument that having a bike in the BR version could help you "get to the next zone" faster, so who knows, maybe they'll surprise us and 1.05 will have a bike in it. I wouldn't hold my breath though...sometime in 2020 would be my guess. As others have said in this thread though, if the bikes react as the cars do on populated servers, would we even want them in the game? Can you imagine biking along a road heading into a major city then having your screen freeze for a few seconds, followed by a quick flash of your character suddenly traveling at Mach 1 into the side of a building, followed by "You are dead". Don't get me wrong...I would love to see all sorts of "transportation methods" added, like bikes, boats, helis, maybe a bus to carry a bunch of people around which could be fun and a working train as a mod might be bringing us soon. All these things would be cool to have and help to get around the map, but they need to be implemented solidly and not fragile as cars currently are in most cases.

    Yeah, it's an interesting point. I don't know if there is such a mod out there that says "despawn the car if anything attached to it is ruined" but perhaps there is. I think what happened here though was a bug and should not have happened -- you shouldn't have to remember to remove a ruined attachment to a car to prevent it from despawning. In fact, as few cars as there are on any given server, it'd be nice if by default, ruined cars just didn't despawn at all and remained in the world until a server restart occurred. You might be driving along with a similar car that's missing some of its parts and you could then loot the ruined car if you found it and if it had some of the things you were missing.
  19. Correct -- this will reset your keybinds and audio/video settings back to default in case you've changed any of them, so be aware that you'll have to configure those again. You might as well delete the AppData folder while you're at it as it may or may not have something to do with it, which is located at /Users/{your Windows username}/AppData/Local/DayZ. In each case, with DayZ and Steam not running, delete the entire folder.
  20. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you need to increase this value as well. Defaults are 1000 infected and 200 animals equals 1200, so I would try increasing this number much higher to see if it makes a difference.
  21. @Fuze95 Have you tried increasing the SpawnInitial value in globals.xml as well? What do you have that set to?

  23. This doesn't happen to me -- you might check your browser settings to see when you have your cookies set to expire. One of the options in my browser is to keep the cookie only until I close the browser, so perhaps you have that set? If the cookie is getting removed after each session, that would explain it anyway. One issue I have been getting recently on here a lot is a 504 Gateway timeout error. It clears up usually with a page refresh or two, but is kinda annoying -- anyone else getting that?

    I've made several posts in this thread, so not sure which one you are referring to. If it's the one with the video link in it, that was not me experiencing it, I was watching a Twitch streamer play the game and he doesn't usually mention what server he's playing on due to the fact that he'll be stream sniped if he does, so not sure which server he was on in that video, to be honest. Why do you ask? Are your experiences with cars despawing different?

    Ok, my bad in that case. I might have been on some type of modded server last time I was on Prison Island as I found an SVD in one of the barrack floors.
