    downgrade graphic ?

Find a community server to play on -- many have varying types of weather, including some that rain a lot.

    Car Dynamics (spawning, glitching, etc.)

This won't solve anything, your system would still be storing loot in the persistence files, so a server crash could still wipe away the stored loot. There's always going to be server crashes, so based on the design of the persistence system, there's always going be the chance of vehicles and loot disappearing.

    Zombie Spawns

It's not a problem, it's intended. Infected are programmed to spawn in designated areas when players enter that area, so if you enter a town and kill all the infected but linger in that town, sure, more will spawn and more should spawn. Why do you consider this a problem?

    So... that's it then?

I mean, we've already reached this point, haven't we? I know I'm certainly disappointed. I always thought that someday, version 1.whatever would contain all the features that version 0.62 had in it and maybe even a few new ones that it didn't have in it, but clearly, that's not going to happen. So, I think we've had our share of uncomfortable situations and disappointments along the way -- we're used to it, we expect it even at this point. So, I'd be fine with them telling me what they intend to add to the game -- I won't actually expect to see it, but it would be nice to know what they scribbled on the chalkboard as the "INTENDED POST-1.04 FEATURES". Still, this is letting them off the hook too easily, IMO. "Oh, sorry guys, this engine is entirely new territory -- we weren't aware what it was capable of." C'mon, that's a pretty lame excuse for not finishing the job. I think what we've been fed recently is a cover story for a company in resource transition. As far as the suits holding the bags of money are concerned, DayZ is essentially finished, it has been released on all intended platforms, so it's time to reallocate the peeps to work on other things. Sure, "development continues" according to the official post and I'm sure we'll get bits of new things here and there, but at this point based on that last SR, we ain't getting anywhere close to what .62 had in it. Exactly my point -- are we or aren't we? Bohemia should at least be able to classify those things into one of three categories: Intended implementation post-1.04 Being considered for possible implementation post-1.04 That feature is no longer being developed This would at least give us some idea as to what we can expect going forward. The SR had a picture of a character vaulting over a wall, so I guess we can expect that at some point -- perhaps that is the only new feature we're going to get from this point forward -- if so, they should just come out and admit that now rather than vaguely saying "development continues". I certainly hope I'm wrong about all this, but it feels to me like them trying to ease the bandage off our arms rather than just ripping it off in one shot -- it'll hurt, but I'd rather get the pain over with if we're close to the end.
  5. I certainly hope they are being paid -- seems like a pretty big project to expect people to do for free. I think "weekend project" is perhaps a euphemism for when they have time in addition to the other things they're working on. The bottom line for me is this: If you go back to the Status Report of November 6, 2018, Eugen had a list of questions and answers that he posted relating to the unrest that people were feeling at that time over the fact that they were going to push 1.0 out the door before the end of the year even though it felt far from ready to go. One of the questions on that list was this: Is there any team restructuring going on after the 1.0 release? Are DayZ developers going to be assigned to other teams at Bohemia? The answer posted was this: No, we are keeping the same resources as we had this year for the year ahead. To be precise, it's 86 people working on DayZ right now. Clearly, this is no longer the case and that tweet you quoted leads me to think that the 10 people working on Survivor GameZ came from these 86. It makes me wonder how many people are actually still assigned to DayZ itself -- feels like a hell of a lot less than 86 to me.

    So... that's it then?

Me. I'm in my late 40s -- the only surprise I want anymore is making it through the night without having to get up to pee. 😋
  7. All you've done here Freerider is emphasize the point trying to be made. I would much rather have had those 10 people assigned to helping DayZ get as close to feature-complete as possible than isolating them to create a mode that most people could care less about. There is already a plethora of BR games out there -- the last thing we needed was another one, especially one as clunky-looking as this thing is so far. I know, I know, it's early Alpha, which means we're maybe 6 to 12 months away from the finished product for this mode. Again, that's 6 to 12 months that would have been better spent working on finishing DayZ the right way.

Unmaner ban on the private server

Bohemia is not going to do anything about this, nor should they. It is not their responsibility to police private servers. It's the internet, it's filled with hatred and bigotry. If action was taken against every server that had an asshole on it, there'd be no game servers at all, anywhere, for any game. I'm sorry this happened to you -- it is unfortunate, but complaining about it here will do no good. File a complaint with the owner of the server and if they do nothing about it, play on a different server as @ThePugman suggested.
  9. drgullen

    So... that's it then?

As will I, but some specifics would be nice. Bows and arrows for example. A lot of people, myself included, would like to see that put back in. The SR though said "complete parity is no longer possible". It's their vagueness with these things I find frustrating. Do we really have to wait for the patch notes on the day that each patch releases to find out what features have been added? To me, that seems like a lazy and disingenuous way to go about informing your fans of feature additions.

X amount of zombies + player spawns

On a PVP server, sure, I'm with you, it's a cool idea to spawn back in with your group to continue the battle. In regular DayZ though, you should definitely not be able to choose your spawn. The original idea of DayZ is paying a steep consequence for dying -- it's the apocalypse, it's supposed to be hard, not easy. You might have spent hours gearing up a character, only to poke your head out from a bush to survey one of the towns and get one-tapped and the "You are dead" screen before you even know where the shot came from. After that, you respawn back along the coast somewhere. I get that you're thinking of it in terms of wanting to be able to spawn near your friends, but consider the scenario where there happens to be a bunch of players in the town near "Spawn #8 - Gorka" for example. Can you not see how being able to spawn at that location basically negates what DayZ is supposed to be? You'd have no value for your life or your gear anymore. You could shoot anyone you want as carelessly as you want, because it doesn't matter. If you die, you spawn near there again, run to your dead body, collect all your previous loot and rinse and repeat from there. A death is DayZ should be harsh and involve spawning somewhere far away from where you were previously, not wherever you like.

When can we expect 1.05 experimental?

First rule of DayZ -- don't get attached to your gear. If the patch involves a persistence wipe, then yes, you're going to lose all your shit.
  12. drgullen

    So... that's it then?

Personally, I'm somewhere in-between your position Pugman and that of @rickyriot I also believe that the development cycle isn't quite over yet, unless what was said in that last SR was a complete lie, which I don't believe it was. I think you're also right about all the delays and setbacks they've had over the years making them unwilling to make any further promises. I do agree with Ricky though that Bohemia is now treating DayZ like that girl you were once so hot for, but after all these years, have kind of brushed aside in favor of the new girl on the block. What I don't understand is why we can't get a simple list of "things to come". If development is continuing, they must have some idea of what they plan to develop -- tell us what that is! There doesn't need to be any dates attached to it, nor even a commitment on their part that they'll actually do it. I'm talking about just telling us what features that are currently absent that they are intending to work on and introduce to a future patch of DayZ before calling the game "fully developed". The fact that they don't seem willing to do that makes me agree with Ricky -- that with DayZ out on all platforms now, their focus internally is shifting to the next big project, which I am assuming will be Arma IV.
  13. You do realize that the DayZ devs live and work in the Czech Republic, right? You do realize that at the time you posted this, none of them were at work because it's just gone sun up in that part of the world, right? You do realize that this thread was started only about 14 hours before you posted this message, right? Have some patience ffs -- @ImpulZ or someone else from BI will no doubt respond to these questions when they can.

    where is my server ......

Go here and read this: https://portforward.com/dayz/ You may not have all the required ports open. Restart your computer and internet connection if you add new ports just to be sure they are in effect.

When can we expect 1.05 experimental?

My guess would be mid-August after the consoles are stable on 1.04. The devs have said they don't want the PC version getting too far ahead of the console version as it is now (consoles are still on 1.02 atm), so it all depends on how much longer it takes them to get 1.04 approved on consoles.
  16. drgullen

    Why, Bohemia ?

Thomas, I sympathize that the experiences on console have been frustrating but all you need to do is pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea or several shots of whiskey or whatever your beverage of choice is and sit down for a while and comb through the history of this forum to see what PC players have to be pissed off about. As @ThePugman eluded to, we also didn't get the 1.0 we were expecting as many of the features of the game that we were playing during the "game preview" period as you called it were missing when they converted to the Enfusion engine, because they needed to be recoded from scratch. In the most recent Status Report, we have been told that feature parity is no longer possible, so DayZ is never going to be the game I hoped it would be, which is a shame. The console versions are indeed a mess right now, but hopefully once you receive 1.04 in the near future and all the duped loot is wiped away, things will start to improve on those platforms.

    Trash!

I have no idea why they ditched it, but my guess would be for performance reasons. There's a lot of things to render in DayZ, so maybe they decided rendering the trash wasn't worth the performance hit on the server.
  18. drgullen

    Trash!

Honestly, I think the rubbish would be better than the fingerprints. Seeing a browning apple corps or an empty cereal box on the ground for example would be enough to show evidence of players. Of course, the players could nullify this by picking up their trash and disposing it in the grass/woods where it's less likely to be found. I dunno about seeing this in 1.05 though -- 2.05 maybe? 😋

    Status Report - July 2019

Yes, provided it is accepted by both Sony and Microsoft. In fact, I believe it's in their hands right now, so unless it's rejected, you should get it any day now. Yes. The .63 version of the engine you already have. .63 was the first PC build using the game's new engine. It has been tweaked and balanced since .63, but even where you are currently on 1.02, you are using "the new engine". In theory, yes. Despite what Bohemia has said, I think console builds are always going to be a bit behind where the PC builds are for two reasons: 1) It makes more sense to develop on the PC platform and port it over to consoles rather than try to develop on multiple platforms which would quickly become a nightmare to manage and 2) It is much easier to get an update approved and ready to download on Steam than it is on either of the console platforms. For example, if a major bug is found, a patch for that will always come to PC before either console platform will get it. In a way, this is a good thing for console players -- Bohemia are famous for fixing one thing while breaking three others in a patch trying to fix problems. A patch like that wouldn't be approved for console, so while it's frustrating for console players to have to wait, in the end, they are getting a better-quality patch than they would have otherwise. I don't really understand what you mean here, but certainly, they have gone back on some of the features that were originally intended to be in the game (i.e. .62 parity). Basically, yes. The fact that they showed us a picture of climbing/vaulting probably means they are getting close to implementing that, so I'm hopeful we'll see that sometime in 2019. I wouldn't bet on much else though.
  20. So this is now live and there's been no mention of it here on the forums, which is odd to say the least. I did see the tweets about it, but if we have issues with this, where are we to report them? This thread? The bug tracker? Isn't this worthy of some type of announcement here on the forum? "Survivor GameZ Alpha Now Live -- Post Your Issues {insert link here}" -- something like that? You folks and your never-ending communication issues just baffles me.

Cant sell Cow pelt in traders

Traders is a mod for DayZ. If you haven't already, I suggest you also post this on the Steam Workshop for whatever trading mod is being used on the server you were on and maybe on that server's website if it has one. I would think you'd have a better chance of calling this to someone's attention there than here.

    KoS + surviving reason.

I get the idea and this might be something for a modded server, but I would personally never want this in the base game. There's always something else you can do if you're fully geared other than KoS. You and your friends could get a car going -- most times, that involves looting several areas. Once you get the car going, you could drive around and try to find people. If you find them, you don't necessarily have to kill them -- I became a Chernarus Uber driver one time, picking up and driving people around, making friendships, it was fun. You could plant a garden and grow some vegetables. You could go hunting for wildlife and kill some boar, cows or maybe hunt for a wolf pack. If you're playing with friends, you could try building a base to store your loot in. The beauty of DayZ is that the game becomes what you make of it. You can decide to be Bob the Builder one day and then be a mass murderer the next day if you like. It's up to you how you play, at least on Vanilla anyway -- some servers have server-specific rules of course where you might not be able to do exactly what you want. The whole notion of points for this and that -- meh -- it's not for me and like I said, these types of things should never be part of the vanilla experience. I'm sure some modded server will implement something like this eventually.

    Status Report - July 2019

It's not so much the looks, but the performance. Without question, DayZ New Engine runs much smoother than DayZ Old Engine -- walking into specific areas back then, my frames would tank sometimes to the single digits. It's just a shame this game will never have the parity with .62 -- well, it won't from the official devs anyway -- I'm sure in the coming months/years, the modding community will step in and drag this thing over the finish line.
  24. drgullen

    Schermuly Rocket Para Illum.

Interesting idea, but I probably would only use it in dire circumstances, because it would give my position away to a much larger group of players.

    Need help with .ini files

Yeah, I was watching SilentSentry on Twitch play the other day -- he had just looted a heli crash and had only walked a short distance away from it and when he next turned around to look at it, it had disappeared. He was not right next to it, but was close enough to still see it clearly and then suddenly, it just wasn't there anymore. I think the despawn radius for these things should probably be increased, because that was kind of immersion-breaking as well.
