Try removing the Battleye files from your DayZ installation and then use the "Verify Game Files" within Steam, which should download and replace them.
-
taskkill /im DayZServer_x64.exe Most people also use the /F switch, but that can cause persistence loss, so using taskkill without forcing it results in a slightly longer, graceful server shutdown.

Well, that's only if those forms register. If they don't, you may need a dozen or so! 😋

I thought they said weekly maintenance is no more as of now.

Any interest in this inventory system by Joe Horan and Saulo Pintar?
drgullen replied to kevo1414's topic in Suggestions
I like the idea with the reduction in damage as you've stated, otherwise, this would become extremely tedious in no time at all. -
Reduce food consumption rate when stomach is full
drgullen replied to Tarkules's topic in Suggestions
There already is a "stomach full" health indicator -- if you've never seen it, you clearly don't drink enough water. I think the eating mechanics are fine as they are. If I'm trying to force feed someone, I don't want it taking forever, I want them to barf quickly! -
Please post a reference to this quote because I don't recall them ever saying that. As @Parazight has said, it's a business. I have no issue with them charging for a new map. I would have issue with them charging for something like "Broken Bones DLC" for example -- something that was previously in the Alpha version that I already paid for that they are now asking me to pay for again. Those of you crying that it should be free obviously have no idea how software development works, nor the amount of time and effort involved in creating a new map, let alone all the DayZ-specific things related to that map (the loot spawn points, the zones for the AI, the locations for static items like car wrecks, etc.) Without a doubt, it should not be free.

Integrated Leaning/Support for Aiming?
drgullen replied to DoctorScandalous's topic in General Discussion
I don't think anything is easily-implemented on the Enfusion engine. I like the idea, but I think it would be a clip-fest in the end -- you'd wind up clipped into whatever it was you were trying to use to steady your shot. Honestly, I'd prefer to have the functional bipod, but if I were to bet, I'd say we'll get neither. -
@Tom_48_97 I would like to know this as well. Obviously, to play on a Livonia server, the player will have to purchase and download the map, but once it releases, details as to the differences between hosting a Chernarus server and a Livonia server, if any, would be helpful.

Here's the tweet from earlier today: "Hello Survivors, We would like to remind everyone that we still haven't announced the release date for Livonia DLC. We will release it without a prior announcement, and it will be soon!" Still no release date (and apparently, there won't be one). Still no price given. Great PR there, BI!

Cooking Pots should not be allowed to store water while in your backpack
drgullen replied to aaronlands's topic in Suggestions
@aaronlands I would actually like to see them take it even one step further and change it such that the cooking pot is no longer able to store water at all. As you've pointed out, currently, staying hydrated becomes way too easy once you've found a cooking pot. You go to the well, drink until your stomach icon appears and then fill up the cooking pot and store it -- at that point, you're essentially hydrated for the rest of your play session with that character. No need to even think about water anymore, much less loot items like water bottles or canteens. Make it so the cooking pot is only that -- a pot to cook things in. You can place animal fat and meat together and bake it without the need for water. I like any changes that make survival more difficult. -
Yeah and let's add a well to one of the house types where we can put our hostages before we skin them. Oh and let's add a poodle as well and maybe a skinny female FBI agent, too. Of course, let's also add a new infected type that looks like Anthony Hopkins wearing hockey mask! 😋

This is a really recent exploit that crashes your console.
drgullen replied to Billykim's topic in Troubleshooting
You should post this in the Console section as well, this is the PC section. -
Are your mods installed on a different drive than the game itself? If so, that's why.
-
Are you saying that this is happening to you every single time Ricky? I've experienced this as well, but not every time to make unplayable. Have you tried deleting your /My Documents/DayZ and your /AppData/Local/DayZ folders? You might have something corrupted perhaps?

Okay, who hijacked McWendy's account? WHO!?!? 😋

@Greensek It was definitely fun and I'm looking forward to seeing some of these things in Chernarus. The two main issues I had were server performance and rain issues. The server performance improved towards the end of the Open Beta, so perhaps that issue was fixed in the end, but at first, it was unplayable at times -- infected were all laggy and mostly stuck on things and players were lag-spiking all over the joint. As for the rain, the thunder and lightning almost made me shit myself the first time -- it was awesome! I love it! The mechanic where you lose health due to rain/cold desperately needs balancing though. A new character that spawns in the rain should not go from full health to dead so quickly. In another thread, I suggested delaying the health loss at first and increasing the time before your temperature drops. As it is now, you go from white to blue temperature almost immediately -- leave it white for a few minutes, then light blue for a few and then perhaps on dark blue you begin to lose health. You also should make some type of coat, probably the raincoat, mean something when it's worn -- as in you can survive 3x longer in the rain perhaps. I enjoyed the experience -- looking forward to getting my ass bitten off by a bear in Chernarus!

I think it is a priority for them -- I just think they haven't figured out all the causes of it yet. Your initial post made it sound like this bug happens every time you try to use a gun, which is simply not the case. Does it happen occasionally? Yes. Is that enough to make me stop playing for weeks at a time as it is for you apparently? No.
-
Thank goodness for that! If I want to PvP, I'll play CoD or PUBG.
-
They don't really answer on here anymore...it's rare anyway...put in a bug tracker for this if you want responses from BI.

I haven't tried this myself, so use at your own discretion, but this mod apparently smooths out jitters related to varying frequencies between TIR and games... https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Special_K

It's a great idea, but the issue is the servers already can't handle the amount of things persisting -- this would add a helluva lot more that the server has to keep track of and I fear would only cause more lag. A player can get shot several times in some circumstances and not die -- this idea would create a persistent blood splat for each shot that produces a bleed and then a final splat with a body once the player is killed. This would be in addition to the markers that the server must keep track of to play the audio of a swarm of flies when players approach areas containing (or previously containing) a corpse. It's a lot of persistence to remember for one body. Love the idea, though.

I have to agree with the points made about hypothermia -- it's too extreme on both ends right now. You lose health too quickly when it starts raining and you dry off and regain health too quickly when it stops raining. There should perhaps be an additional level of temperature before your health starts to drop and the lengths should be much longer. Something like this: 1. It begins to rain. 2. After 3 minutes of exposure, your temperature icon turns from white to light blue, but no health loss yet. 3. After an additional 3 minutes of exposure, your temperature icon turns from light blue to dark blue, your character begins shivering, but no health loss yet. 4. After an additional 4 minutes of exposure, your temperature icon turns from dark blue to dark purple and you are now at 1-tick down on health loss. So, that would allow you to travel 10 minutes at a time in the rain before you start losing health due to hypothermia. The recovery should be the same amount of time, but in reverse (dark purple to dark blue to light blue to white), but only if you have some type of heat source on you (i.e. a fire or heat pack). Without the heat source, recovery should be maybe twice as long. So, recovering fully from hypothermia would require sitting at a fire for up to 10 minutes or remaining out of the rain for about 20 minutes.

Don't give them any ideas! 😋

This is the issue for most people, I think. The majority of players simply don't drink enough at the well. I've seen so many players take only a few sips and move on -- that's not enough. You should be drinking at the well until the moment that the "stomach full" icon appears, which, depending on if you've recently eaten or not, could take 30 sips of water or more! Yes, that wasn't a typo -- thirty! If you're stopping as soon as the bottle indicator turns white, you've stopped too soon and may have just signed your death sentence. Personally, I have never died due to lack of hydration -- ever, including in Livonia. As a new spawn, you need to play cautiously. DO NOT hold down the Shift key yet, in other words! Kill some infected as they may have drinks on them, check the trees for dropped fruit and as you consume that fruit which gives you some hydration, follow the roads or power lines which should lead you to a city with a well.
