Yeah, because you aren't actually killing anything because, y'know, it's a survival video game, breh. Kill them puppies, build a fireplace and eat them glorious steaks. Loot some Chianti and fava beans first though. Yummy.
-
Yeah, any chance you can post a video of what you're talking about? It's hard to make out why you're dying from what you've said here. AFAIK, if you're not bleeding (as you've claimed here), your health should only go down if your red on thirst or hunger or if you're too cold.

We have been getting used to broken/missing features and using bug workarounds since the Alpha first released in December 2013! I think suggestions like these need a priority check. I want at least some (since we're doubtful to get all) of the remaining missing things put back into the game first before time is spent working on something like a car camouflage. I have no idea how many people are involved in the development of DayZ these days, but I suspect it's a heckuva lot fewer than the 86 that Eugen Harten said were a part of the team back in late 2018. Let's be honest here -- suggesting any new things is mostly irrelevant at this point -- we'll be lucky to get even close to .62 parity.

Despawn times are configurable, so they can vary on community servers. I believe on official servers, player corpses disappear after 30 minutes. In some cases though, the flies will bug out, so you'll still hear the fly noises beyond 30 minutes.

There's no real guide from the devs for any of this AFAIK if that's what you're asking...I just taught myself as I went along. I don't have the server files installed anymore, so I can't recall off the top of my head which file exactly, but one of the cfg***.xml files lists the things that can be spawned on the infected -- I simply deleted those lines so that their inventories were always empty.
-
You have to appeal it with Battleye, not here.
-
You can easily modify how loot spawns using the server configuration XML files. I had a server running last year where I had no loot spawning on any of the infected, for example.
-
The way you have worded that equates to essentially the same thing. There are official servers and then there are community servers. For each of those, there are some that are hardcore servers, meaning you can only play on them using 1PP (First-person perspective). I suppose you could call either an official or community server "regular" if it has no modding (most call this a vanilla server) and can be played in either perspective, first or third. There are also modded community servers where certain aspects of the game have been changed using mods (like a map alteration such as Winter Chernarus, guns that don't appear in the base game that have been added, changes to things like stamina, health, food/thirst consumption, etc.) Does that answer it for you @coryh4225?
-
You could always download the DayZ Server from the Tools in Steam and see for yourself. All these things are listed in the cfg xml files.
-
I can. Load into any official vanilla server as a freshie. Check your inventory -- what have you got in there? Next to nothing. Where are you? On the coast, nowhere near any good weapons. In a little while, you'll be thirsty and hungry and if you do nothing about that, you'll soon be dead. Does any of that sound like a PvP game to you? As William said, educate yourself about Dean Hall's original concept of the standalone. I'll start you off -- here's a Hall quote from back in 2012 when Bohemia first announced that DayZ would become its own standalone game: "ArmA was designed for a pretty broad purpose, but it was designed as a military simulator," Hall said in an interview with Ars. "The purpose of DayZ is very different, so that's why it needs to make the transition." Source: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/08/from-mod-to-game-how-dayz-will-evolve-as-a-standalone-release/

Is it allowed to leave a server when...
drgullen replied to slowfast70's topic in New Player Discussion
You can dig them up from the ground with a shovel. -
I guess I don't see the point in doing this -- someone would eventually find the "camouflage" and whether they could tell what was underneath it or not, it would get destroyed by a grenade or by tearing down the camouflage. If the point is to protect/save the car for future use, you'd be better off parking it inside a barn and then barricading it off with password-protected doors. This is still vulnerable to being broken into however. I usually just leave it up to fate. I take the spark plug and battery out and keep it in my inventory when I log out. If the car is there next time, great, otherwise it gives me a new goal for that session -- find another car.

Is it allowed to leave a server when...
drgullen replied to slowfast70's topic in New Player Discussion
When you leave a server, your character remains in place for 15 seconds, so if you were being shot at, most likely that character is now dead. Next time, just play the game. Try to evade him, find some cover, try to get the upper hand somehow. If he kills you, he kills you -- no big deal and as McWendy says, the number one rule in DayZ is don't get attached to your loot because it'll be gone eventually. -
The main thing that needs fixing with the infected is them getting stuck on things. To me, there's nothing more annoying than being surrounded by infected that would otherwise be causing me concern, but are all stuck on doors/fences/etc. so they are no threat at all. I think having infected break through doors would be an amazing tweak to the game. No longer would you be able to evade them (at least not completely) by entering a building and closing the door behind you. They should be able to hit the door with both hands like they do to players and maybe after a random amount of hits say between 5 and 10, the door opens. This would also highlight player locations to other players nearby since the infected would only bang on doors with someone inside.

You might try playing around with your Sound settings. I'm assuming you're running Windows 10 since you just got this PC. With DayZ already running, right-click on the speaker icon in your task tray and then select Sounds from the menu that pops up. On the Playback tab, double-click whichever output device you're expecting to hear the sounds from. Depending on the drivers installed, you may have tabs like "Enhancement", "Dolby" and "Advanced" each with various settings. I would experiment in here, turning settings on and off one at a time to see if any of them are affecting the game. I'm not sure if DayZ will pick up the change on-the-fly though, so you might have to stop and restart the exe with each change just to be sure. Also, I did read a Reddit post where some guy with sound issues fixed it by simply reinstalling the game. You just installed yours I take it, so that's probably not it, but if all else fails, it might be worth it in case something went awry with the install you currently have. Good luck -- hope you figure it out.

If you haven't already, try verifying your game files using your Steam client -- you might be missing some files.

@hemmo You're right, when the game released in December 2018, it definitely had bugs. Here we are in December 2019 and yes, it has bugs. It's called software development. You add things to your game, which creates bugs in the game. Development continues, those bugs get fixed, more new things are added, more new bugs in the game, rinse and repeat. Just like everyone else, the people behind Bohemia are human beings and human beings make mistakes, you know, just like how in your original post, you used the work proberly instead of properly -- you did that because you're a human being and you make mistakes. As for the discount, many game developers do this to promote the sales of their games -- this is called running a business. There, are you enlightened now?

There are plenty of modded community servers that have this enabled. As for vanilla, no, this will not and should not be included.

Any help Guys/ just downloaded Dayz/ have probs
drgullen replied to British Bob's topic in New Player Discussion
This is the PC section of the Forums, so check the Consoles section for console-specific help. In general though, it is a survival game primarily so yes, you might struggle to survive. A few tips to get you going: Don't sprint to start off with until you've sorted your thirst and hunger -- you'll survive longer that way Kill as many infected as you can as some will have cans of food and drink on them You'll need something to open the food cans with, so try to loot a knife (or search for stones on gravel paths and combine two to create a stone knife) or loot an axe Most towns will have a well near the police station -- drink until you see a "stomach full" icon pop up, otherwise, you haven't had enough water to drink Don't loot for weapons until you've had enough to eat and drink is the first and foremost rule. Good luck. -
I would suggest posing these questions on a Battleye forum. Only Battleye can confirm whether or not your Battleye ban is common to all games.

I honestly don't know anymore, because I've experienced the opposite of this. I once had a car going, then had a server lag spike which caused me to hit the wall beyond the turn I was trying to make. The impact ruined the radiator, but not the car itself and there was an industrial loot area not far away, so I decided to go look for a replacement radiator. I removed the spark plug and took it with me, but I left the ruined radiator in the car. I went to the industrial area and found a new radiator in one of the garage-like sheds, but when I returned, the car had vanished. I was gone less than 15 minutes and encountered no other players in the area. I've seen this happen to others in streams/videos that I've watched and I always thought it was related to having something ruined attached to or in the car. You didn't mention anything being ruined, so maybe it is disappearing by simply removing a part.

Not gonna lie, kinda like that idea! 😋

Why aren't all resources being alloted to vehicles
drgullen replied to robbyj's topic in General Discussion
Hopefully, this 2020 road map they recently spoke about that we'll get sometime in January will address the future of cars and other vehicles. I somehow doubt we're ever going to get helis or bikes now -- I was hopeful in the past, but now I'm skeptical -- it'll have to come from mods probably. As for cars, the issue is the server performance and not the car itself, but until they properly utilize multi-cores on the server or change it such that cars are handled client-side rather than server-side, poor-running servers are going to mean poor-running cars unfortunately.- 1 reply

It is most likely a combination of duplicated loot and stashed loot, both of which will affect the loot economy.
