The PU scope does not spawn in military bases and Mosins and shotguns ARE a common thing around residential areas. And the shotgun and mosin is not "broken", they worked fine as one-shot weapons plus that is a thing of the past - so half of what you build your post on is not factual. Learn to use what you got to your advantage, its not the weapon that decides who survives but he ho holds it. Some well done sneaking and a few ij70-shots and anyone will go down. Its not long ago that I killed da mega-geared player - half gillied, plate carrier, SVD and M4A1 and an assault head with visor - one shot (the first I fired) to the head from my pistol and all his gear was of no use to him any more. I had about 10 shots in my pistol (and no more) but still won the fight with only a single shot fired even though he was trying to spray me down with full auto-fire from inside a covered position. Just dont rush into shit, learn to wait until the odds are in your favor and you will do good with most weapons. Mil-loot is not the only thing that counts and the one with the heaviest gear is not necessarily the winner - or the one who has the most fun. Also - learn to enjoy the challenge of not being fully geared, its fun!

Well, a lot of us would like that, so your statement is clearly wrong. What is the problem with different likings, afraid of anything?
-
Take the freshie-express to the coast. ;)
-
Well, they just fixed both the shortie, the mosin AND the unjamming-problem - so that is a bit much to say.
-
Yep, and a bulky night vision-scope that only can be used for 3-4 minutes every 5-6 hours is just not worth hanging on to at the moment. When they FINALLY get the day/night-cycle working (and weather too) then it will be a really nice thing to have in the backpack though.
-
Yep, my stashes are gone too - annoying AF!
-
Its there, and its worthless as it can't be used during daylight and the night-time is 3 minutes long. It takes up 12 inventory-spaces and weighs 2 kilo too.
-
Hold or quick-tap Y, it worked for me. :)
-
Yes, they are. :)

I know, I've been through most if it.

Is anyone else suddenly sick after the update? I am probably going to have to suicide my main-char which is a shame as I've had her a long time.
-
Next time take some of your clothing and make bandages out of that, that works when you are out of them (which is generally a bad idea as just a single zombie-hit can start the bleeding).
-
My character is not bleeding, but she is needs to drink badly (its in red when I logged in it was white when I logged out...) AND she suddenly got sick and is coughing.... Mosin is definitively working though!

All the information I provided is backed up by a pretty impressive video about it on youtube, I can see if I can find it if it is. They test it all and you can visually see how many doors the different kind of ammo is penetrating as they did it with a bunch of open garage-doors which were in a straight line. Trying to lockpick a door open when you know there an enemy waiting inside can be real risky, always try to do it from the side of the entrance. Also remember that the bullets usually change their trajectory after a penetration, so you can't expect to hit something that is far behind the penetration-point.

Exactly, there is only ONE kind of .380 in this game and I was not referring to any other kind lol.

Yes, cheating is cheating - but not cheating is also not cheating. Read what I wrote about the difference, its quite simple. I dont encourage server-hopping and I see it as exploiting a loophole in the game, but I dont see it as cheating, quite simple as said. There is way more then one opinion on that, none of them are the truth - just different persons opinions, and none of them are worth more then the others once explained probably.
-
The larger the bullet, the more bullet-penetration. A 7.62x54mm can shoot several doors (like 3 or 4 I think) but a .380 can only shoot through one. Some surfaces are penetrabable and others aren't - you can also shoot through the sides of the trees with heavy weapons. Bullets do lose power after a penetration though, and they often also change angle so they aint going straight ahead after penetrating. Its a _very_ impressive system!

The game has seen massive updates in the last 3 months (both content and quality), so the op has probably not been playing that long... PS - I can't wait until they add leaning (it has been there on pc for ages), holding breath and gun un-jamming - all pretty essential for a game like this.

We don't need less servers as it is now. Every evening the EU-servers are all medium-high, so all is good.
-
Because there is an obvious difference between exploiting a loophole and straight up cheating, it should be clear enough. I am not encouraging using the loophole, im just saying its not the same ball-game as what we consider regular cheating in games (moving chess-pieces in ways they are not meant to or when the opponent is not looking or aim-hacks and wall-hacks for computer-games).
-
Server-hopping for loot in DayZ clearly can not be compared to cheating in Chess.
-
I would probably have gone for the communication too, but there are a lot of ways to play this game and none of them can be considered wrong. If everybody played it exactly the same way and everybody agreed on exactly the same rules, then the game would be way to boring and a lot of the really thrilling moments would be perished.

My frame-rate is fine (Xbox One S with the game on an external HD), but it drops noticeable every time there is a couple of people nearby. I use that as a kind of a warning-system... A couple of days a mate and me were upstairs in the large barrack in one of the military bases and it dropped to 15-20 FPS which we noticed, so we just holed up for a moment - and sure enough; 20 seconds later two other dudes are downstairs saying "just come down and nothing will happen" - we were not that stupid so it ended with them leaving and getting shot at by a dude with a mosin that were hidden in the tree-line a moment after, which we took as our chance to get the fuck out of dodge.

Apparently there is a way to get the server to crash (not gonna mention how for obvious reasons...) and as far as I know it is still working. Every time some douche-bag does it the whole server crashes, everyone gets thrown off and most bases and such will disappear. :/

I get that problem too. I fired 20 shots from a skorpion into a semi-geared player (no vest or mil-helmet) and he only got hit once even though he was standing still 4-5 meters from me. I tried to execute a (stupid) prisoner and had to give him 3 (THREE!) headshots (fully aiming from 1,5 meter away) before he went down. Shit like that is really breaking the immersion.
