As said before, man. Your idea is great. I got it right, bud. But, from my experience it isn't that easy to implement such feature, it is even mroe complicated than the actual HIVE method. Basically the server you are trying to connect comunicates it to the HIVE and then "she" gives you data to it, so you can spawnd where you was when you logged out. The problems with the neural net map, the one you suggest are: 1- Servers got player limit, you would need equal numbers of map parts server to run the different parts so if a server is full you can be redirected to another one; What will happen if you have a area that is more popular than the rest? It happen. 2- Even with a stable mechanism to manage it, how will be the transition zones?? just like bridges or tunnels?? certain pre-determined locations, or it would be just the maps ground? If it is a single location, another guy already posted the cons of it. Im not trying to put you don't, and even trolling you, I am just stating my opinion that if this is possible, it would be hard to make, so hard that if I was DayZ's dev I would just think on that when the game becomes Gold. Sorry if I was offensive, I didn't meant to be.

Your idea is almost good. But no, it won't work. (I hate to use this acronym)IRL, you have a few minutes, maybe seconds to apply epi. on a person's heart and try to defib him. After the heart stops there are only a little time left until the brain cells start dying by the lack of Oxygen. I watched a few attempts of "reanimation", and only fewer succeded. It's not a guaranteed process, and are even less guaranteed when the issue is a serious gunshot wound where most of the internal tissues were heavly dmged. However, if this game would take the realism to the blood stuff, any bloodbag would be even possible, since it perishes in a really short period, and, all of us have different blood types, making it impossible to make ordinary transfusions. =) I just do not agree with player reanimation because it would ruin even more the game. Just it.

You just stated everything. Jump gates! You don't actually cross a distance on foot, or, Flying a space ship. You use a mechanic of server transition. It is not like buffering parts of a huge map as seen on GTA, it is a entire server you will be buffering and loading at real-time. You would need a Mainframe to do such a thing and the servers would run with a fu**ing NASA Computer. THe processing it demands for this transition for i.e. 30 players at the same time, and at different locations inside the transition zone(that would be like "20km" long on each side of it) is huge!! I think I got what you are trying to say, but it is just not possible. It's a good idea to make the game a neural net. of maps, but is kinda impossible atm. (never played EVE), But a game a played for a long time, Taikodom, had a similar system, but all the star systems was on the same server, and it perse demanded a huge processing from the server. I think nor even a cloud solution would be good. Good idea, but I don't think it is viable.

Defibs = Shit. With a defib you would turn DayZ into L4D!!! How the hell would a defib help restoring heart beat on a heart exploded by a gunshot?? No way!! And how the hell would a defib help if your head got exploded by a 7.65 bullet? No way!! The blood mechanics are pretty unrealistic right now, but are viable for the game to move on. Actually, as ActionMan saidbefore, the defibs won't help if you have no blood in your veins. And what about Brain Death? NO F*CKING WAY!! Or are you Frankenstein?

Post apacolyptic greifing simulator for D-bags
n4ndoz replied to skyter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, man. The good thing about DayZ is that even it being just at Alpha it is fun!! Even with bugs. The problem ofr me is just that I can't play the way I would like to play in most of the servers. I would like to role play a survivor, not a one man army getting rid of a entire server. For this I eventually play my old CS 1.6. I hope ppl at least get my opinion on my previews post. -
Post apacolyptic greifing simulator for D-bags
n4ndoz replied to skyter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Finally read through all the posts(prob. someone is writing right now lol)... I think I got what the OP is trying to say, and the majority os ppl "against" him does not. He thinks just like me. The problem of this game is simply the ppl who play it. For any of you IRL-guys, you really would take a CZ, full ammo, a lot of food, and go into a roof in the middle of, i.e. NY, to snipe for any survivors? You would really do that? I don't think so. I won't, anyway. If I would sight a guy I would really think about AVOIDING him, but not killing him. Specially if he's with a big gun in hand. But I would never kill him if he doesn't attacked me. Any of you would face the scene of a head opened with a 5.56mm bullet with a good mood? Believe me, it is pretty ugly. And, what about seeing the guy agonizing, drowning in his own blood with a bullet in his chest? And what about a arm crippled by a AK's shoot? I can say that you certainly wouldn't. And it's not something you get used, like being a doctor and watching your patients die by something you did not provoked, it's like YOU KILLING them, you making these wounds. The problem in this game is that most of the players do not ROLE PLAY the game as I do, or as much of my friends do. Ppl just buy it because a lot of guys around the world are playing, it's hype. So they will have this behavior, playing DayZ just as CoD, or BF. No matter what mechanics Rocket implement, there will always be CoD players, killing just for frags, and, trolls! The clothes with blood marks are a good solutions, but it wouldn't be gone with an hour, but with wash!! Go into watter and clean your clothes, I want to see a lot of bandits taking a bath on a lake without their guns in hand and just spray the love from my M249. Looks violent, but, as you most of you said, it's like IRL, isn't it? p.s.: sorry for my grammar, probably it has a lot of issues, but english is not my main language, and I learned it by myself. =) Note: what Rocket says about making the game "evolve" is really good, but it would never be like the real world. Because it's a game/mod/wtv. No matter how realistic it becomes, it will never be the real life. You die, you respawn, angry as hell, but respawn and get some stuff again, the the cycle repeats. IRL you die, and you're dead. If this would happen, and with a death you wasted your $29, then it would start to become similar to RL. -
{PAF} Post-Apocalyptic Fraggers: Now Recruiting
n4ndoz replied to itsRecruit's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Is this a International Clan? -
lol C'mon. You can increase the amount of people working with you? I don't know the project, but surely it is ran exclusively by you. A few other nice guys help around, but you're the manager/main-modder. With D3 the issue was a greedy company, not the game itself, that was fine after a few updates. (with 60+ devs working on that)
-
Bud, pls do not compare Counter-Strike to this mod. CS was made on a good and stable engine. And do not have half of the complexity of DayZ. I think that the problem of DayZ is that it is a Mod, and not a standalone game. With this in mind you will have to work as hell(assuming you are a moder that have no access to the Arma2's engine codes, but you work for BIS...), way more than all of the other mods has ever worked before. Why don't you recruit some coders from somewhere else? I can asure you that a lot of ppl would volunteer themselves. But, again, I don't know the situation around DayZ's development, I just know what you post here so far. After all, this is just a suggestion.

Besides my wiped char, the patch really runs smoothly as hell. Just want to know if there is any way for me to retrieve my char, or if it is just some kind of DB delay on updating my char... If there isn't any hope of getting the items back I should move on, otherwise I won't log in till I get this answer!!!
-
I know it, man. But I just want to know if there is any chance my char gets back!!!! Did not lost so much good stuff, but still, I need just any confirmation!!!! Besides, I been ready the threads since the first.
-
So I will have to play for ever at non-updated servers?? How the hell do I rollback?? Because I have no clue!
-
What the fuck??? My char got entirely reseted!!! Logged out at Krasnostav and now my inventory is clear at Kamenka! Didn't died nor respawned. Is anyone having this issues too?? Was there any database wipe? My clan won't log on the game because of it. So, if anyone has any clue, pls share!!
-
So... anybody can answer me?
-
Naah... It was for me like $35(billing + currency) because I'm in Brazil. And One thing I can say: Despite the bugs, you can have a lot of fun, and I mean A F*CKING TON OF FUN! Been playing this for like 4 weeks or so, and enjoyed all that time, had some pretty good experience aswell as some frustrating ones too. But I must advise you, you will see 2 main "issues" on this game: 1- It is buggy as hell(Im not bitching) since it is at Alpha right now, and will be for at least the next 1-2 mounth I think; 2- At some server some players think this game is CoD, they kill for nothing, and will not play the game "as it would be"; Even with those two "problems" you will think your money was well spent!

So your a new player and need a weapon? Read this.
n4ndoz replied to Yarrick68 (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Yeah!! Really good topic for newbies!! If when I started I had one of these my life would be easier!! But you should add some routes for looting. Such as inner cities, that usually has less players than Cherno and Elektro. -
Hey guys. First off, Im not bitching for my camp being raided/attacked. I just want to sharea sad story. =( Me and my group have built up a great camp for days. We managed to get 4 vehicles and a lot of stuff. Saddly we was attacked while everybody was offline. But what made me sad wasn't the fact that we lost most of our stuff, that we spent more than 2 weeks gathering. What is really awful is the disrespect of the bandits who did it. I just got online and saw how the f*cked up we were, and when I switched my map on, I just saw map markers(don't know the exact name) saying where the camp was and some words like: "DEAD BUS FUCKERS" , "DEAD BOAT FUCKERS", not to mention some other. Finally, if they or he, or whoever just looted, destroyed everything, it would be ok, we can get all the stuff back with a little work. But why the fuck do such a thing? Call us fuckers? Mark our base on map? I don't even kill players, Im peaceful, with who is peaceful to me. I think I should stop being a survivor and become a bandit, at least I will have what is deserved. Because this game is turning into a big fucking Deathmatch Arena, where players fuck others up for nothing. Sorry for anything, guys. Just need to put it out. And please, don't do such a thing. If you rob someones camp, be respectful, they can get their stuff back anyway, no need to be such a duche.

@Fascion Man, I always offer help when I encounter someone and do not get hit. Or I offer him food, or water, or meds, or ammo. Just because they are kind, because they play this game as it is meant to be played. I think that on a Zombie appocalypse the only guys that will be "bandits" are the sociopats, the psycho's, jerks and stupid guys. So, this way I act on the game, I play as if it was true, so I don't kill the only humans left, I help them to get help someday. Being a bandit is shit, is a Deathmatch desire on such a game like DayZ, that wasn't meant to delivery such experience. EDIT: I didn't meant bandits at all, just the jerks that kills for no reason. So, if you get killed, or someone robbs you, threat you with a gun and take all your stuff, this sucks, but they have a reason to do that. Not this psycho shit of killing for nothing.

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
n4ndoz replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Nicely said, man. I do agree with you completely. The game should let us play alone and/or work together. The real problem in this game are the bandit jerks. If at last they were "real" bandits who kill, or threat you to give him your stuff. This game allows good experience, allows human interaction, the problem is, and always will be, the players. who thinks that this game is a zombie deathmatch and nothing more. This is so fucked up right now that it turned to be a chaotic chain reaction. The bandits/no-brain-players/jerks kills everybody in sight, the peaceful players are now paranoid, and mostly when they see a player or they run or shoot. So, the game now is just about killing players no matter what allignment you think you are on. -
I think that the only way players stop DCing to avoid zeds is when the zed's system get better. At least for me they seem pretty hard to beat sometimes, when you run without ammo and they can hit you at about 6m far from you. This isn't good, right? But about DCing to avoid PvP, I'am neutral on that point, just because as soon as a good part of the players will shoot you as soon as you get on their sight, you have nothing to do. Will you try to talk to them? Even if one try's this, most of the players won't listen and will keep shooting. Most of them give tons of shit to each other. So, a peaceful guy like me get's fucked when trying to "roleplay" the game and attempt contact. This is most fucked up than the whole DC problem. Seriously, never got any problem with DC'ers because I never engage firefight unless I heard the first shot. And as soon as I see who did it, if he missed the first shot, usually they wont miss another with that char.
-
Aaaah... c'mon.. Camo's + NVG are way OP items. You become invisible, and, besides, if the object of the game is to survive zed hordes, etc etc, camo's are useless. Camos are just useful to hunt players, that's the truth. I would be nice without them, don't even like them, uggly and unfair. Already found alot of them. The only camo I use is the simple one, that make my char look like rambo! lol

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
n4ndoz replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I do agree with your suggestion on some points. But I think that most of the features you expose in here, as other guy already said, this turns the game into a "Group only" game. And I don't like it because it is not true, not "reallistic". Besides, torning the game apart into 2(or more) modes is going to make the game boring. This game is supposed to be equal to everyone. But, in other hand, I liked some of your features, specially the ones about zombie packs, etc. But for it to be implemented there must be a complete remake of the zed spawning system, because of now, you can clean Elektro entirely and very soon there will be plenty of zeds again. So, for harder zeds to exist, their spawning must be fixed aswell. Nice topic, though. -
Yeah! You are right. This game isn't BF3 or CoD. It is about surviving, and you really don't need more than this to survive at day light. And when it is night, a NVG is just fine, but surely you can play without it, as I ever do. Never got my hands on a NVG, and I asure you that I don't want it. Because as soon as I get one, I will be so paranoid, afraid of loosing it, that I won't enjoy the gameplay of this mod. Just as a GPS did to me, because of it I respawned, and am happy again with my new char!! =) Be happy, don't be paranoid, get only what is useful and you will really enjoy the game. Of course, a M4 SD is nice, but you it isn't necessary, is just a diferent play style. I do prefer the minimalism of a Lee + a revolver or a M1911!! =)

No more animals moonwalking around?? =(

@Bdthemag I know, man. I'm not attached to my loot. I was just pissed off because of what the bandits wrote on the map. It is a shame, that on a game like this ppl act like this. I of course will keep peaceful. It gave me some of the best experiences I could ever get from other games. But in moments like these, all I want is to find the bastard who did it, and kill it(in-game, of course), and, loot all he has. Just because of the lack of respect.
