I know it would not be easy, but would be nice if we could organize a "response force". When encountering KOS asshat players an alert is sent and multiple players converge on the server and respond to the location, taking action against these fools.

So if you started taking the loot out of the tents and just throwing them about on the ground it would all despawn after awhile right?

Has anyone had a chance to try them out yet? Are they working?

Frustrating. Loaded up the update and jumped in game. Got near some ruined buildings and I start sliding all over the place. I'm inside the walls, then suddenly outside, try to run away and I'm bouncing around like a pinball machine. Aggro'ed a zed and he keeps running past me, he has his back to me and starts swinging and I'm registering damage from 30 yards away. PIA. Melee doesn't work on him, have to shoot him. Luckily it takes him out, but after I finish shooting I see dirt kicking up the ground around him when he is already dead and I stopped firing. I'm sorry to complain (so much of that here) but honestly, just seems like for every advancement we get something else goes sideways. I can't help but wonder if they removed some of the multitude of items and functions if the game would run smoother?

Try using the sun to navigate by. You may not know which way you're heading or where you are, but at least you're going in a straight line.

I found a mil zombie standing inside a cargo container. I stepped inside and emptied U-70 into him (in 3rd person) and it didn;t do crap, he turned on me and did some good damage. So you're saying I should have done this in 1st person or ADS?

How about a defunct zoo, looting there provides some goodies not available elsewhere, but then there are roving animals.....

For me, since last update if I have weapon in hand and I hit "Y" to try and cycle to next item in hotbar it just reloads another mag. I have to use the directional button to open the hotbar and choose the next item in line to get it in hands. Button mapping could really use a revamp imho.

So I'm a very conservative player, 9 times out of 10 I will run and avoid fights, hide when I hear shots, not a pvp kind of guy here. I just have civilian gear. I'm totally full to capacity. Then I find a CR pistol. I don't usually find them. It has a mag with 12 rounds. I take it to hand and now I'm paranoid as I have to run around with it in hand and expect to get dropped as soon as someone sees me. I get to Starry mil base and in the woods on the hill slope just outside the fence line I find a base. Just 4 posts with roof and stairs. But boy-o-boy, a hiking back pack with some decent loot, and LOTS of hand tools on the ground. There is a M-5 sub gun in the back pack. I drop my IZH and take on my shoulder. I take the spare mag too but have to drop a water bottle to get it to fit. Fair trade in my eyes. Figured I'd be nice and leave the CR pistol too. Need my hands open for melee weapon to loot the mil camp. Then it dawns on me. These guys are set up just outside the fence and keep coming back to loot when the camp respawns each day. Its almost like server hopping(?) I'm a bit at odds but the more I think about it the more unfair I think it is. Then I consider what would they do if it was my base I built here? I've never been a dick to anyone in this game and try to play fair and nice, but F__K it, I'm gonna be a dick. I quickly loot the mil camp and find only a vest and no packs, but it will suit my purposes. I take all I desire then back to their base. I take back the pistol and some other items now that I got room in the vest. Then I take the hiking backpack to hand and run a few yards to some other trees and drop it in the tree. It does the glitch where you cannot pick it up. But you can damn sure bet it's clearly visible. I go back and do the same to the med tent that was rolled up on the ground. Then I grab an axe and use it till it's ruined by demolishing the base. One wall with metal siding, the roof, the stairs. Have to switch to a hatchet and finish off the posts. I'm thinking someone is going to be PISSED!! I'm about to take one of the numerous shovels to bury the rest of the gear when a shot rang out. I did not hear a round whizz by, and it wasn't real close but no way I'm sticking around. I sprint like mad uphill. Find a spot and over watch with the binocs. I see no movement. I wait awhile and hear another shot, sounds like from same area as before. Still no movement observed. I carefully saunter off to the NW............. I get close to NWAF and see a herd of wild of wild boar making their way across a field. I felt like I just had a small but meaningful DayZ adventure all to myself. But I do wonder if I was unethical in my actions. PS- is there any way to get those items out of the tree? I recall a post that said you have to cut the tree down. Didn't think of it until I started making this post.

Are people having this issue when using a pistol? Is it tied to specific weapon or all in general?

Whenever you find a water pump, drink until the 'full stomach" icon appears. I do this in every village town i stop at and never have thirst issues. It becomes one of the very least of my worries.

Two questions. I see now that we can walk. So now I'm wondering does it use up less energy to walk as opposed to jogging? Will it make my hunger and hydration last longer? I know it would be a real bitch to try and walk any decent distance for the time it would take but if I'm a fresh spawn will it help to endure a little longer while finding that initial can of food or water source? And does it help with avoiding detection from zombies? I wonder.... Second, I was desperate after a new spawn and was going into red so I drank from a stream. Short bit later I noticed an icon on the left of of status that I'd never seen before. Looked like a head/face. Took a good long while before it went away. Not sure what I did to help it, I did make sure to not drink from streams/ponds after that. Any info on this would be appreciated.

So I acquired the assault helmet and a visor. Is there a trick to attaching the visor on? Can't seem to make it happen. I'm sure I'm making some kind of noob mistakes here.

Reading about bugs and issues, I see some talking about what they have problems with and it has been my experience that many times I don't suffer from what they experience. Sometimes never experiencing what they report. But then other times I go thru the same thing as they do. Wondering why it can seem so random?

Sorry that I don't remember which one but logged on last night for a short bout of looting and found a no rain daylight server. It was European one. Was such a delight to have normal weather.

So I didn't have the chance to play for last few weeks and was burnt anyways with limited content. Well been getting back on with last update and now have questions. With all the rain what issues will I experience when my temp drops? I hear my character shivering from the cold and it worries me. It seems that if I go indoors and hangout for awhile my temp rises and I'm good to go?? Would it be worth it to wear a rain coat? Will being soaked affect gear? Will appreciate any and all advice, thanks.

Well that explains why things have been disappearing. And being it is so DARK OUTSIDE I don't notice to next time I open the inventory.

Well I hope they get it soon as its unplayable for me. Total dark and rain constantly? I've been very patient since buying the game from release day. But this is really gotten to me.

Well at least its easier to read the inventory now.

Has anyone ever tried going past the edge of the map? What happens? Saw a video where guy did this on PC and he just got to flat ground that ran endlessly. Just curious.

Lol!! Yep learned about that radiation zone the hard way. Funny story on how it happened AND the afrermath of going back a few times to try and retrieve minibike.

Is there still issue with hits not registering? Yesterday I ended up sending 2-3 zombies into aggro. So I ran into a house and tried shooting them through the window with U70. I've done it before, and the zed was right there but no hits. Ended up attracting more zeds. SWitched to AKM and still nothing. Then opened door to shoot at them and nothing with both weapons. Took some strikes from them. Ended up having to stand in doorway and use axe to dispatch them one at a time. Was a bit frustrating...
