Since Sony opened up to that idea not too long ago there is at least a possibility that crossplay will happen someday. At the pace of developement we are most likely talking years here. Mod support won't be a thing obviously but I am open for that idea. The more, the merrier. Seeing that M$ is pushing into the PC market with their XBox One games pretty hard currently, see Halo for example, the odds of crossplay between BoX and PC are higher then among all 3 I guess.

What you are describing, especially the thing with warping back to the previous house, sounds very much like desync. This can be related to the server or to your internet connection. You might wanna check that or look out for a better server to play on.

I think that was one of the things they talked about in great fashion but never really implemented, just like bears and helicopters. At least i never heared of a single heart attack because of constant running in our community.

That pretty much sums up my experience since "beta" and especially since "1.0" - if you really wanna call it that. But we're getting somewhere, slooooowly but steady. Fully agree with the half backed health system, we already had a pretty decent one. Also i wanna break bones of my opponents again, gave fighting so much more depth in contrast to the standard health system (or like we germans call it: 0815 Standard - nothing special).

It works pretty well atm with many mods to choose from. Crashes are still a thing sometimes, but nothing compared to earlier days. Still, i would wait till the next patch in the hopes of fixing an old but returned method to do the D-thing if you tinker with certain options as an admin.

He is trying to help you understand how this problem works and how you can work around the problem. You should listen to the guy with a lot of experience, really. Where is the OP btw?

If in doubt, check the game files for errors via steam. (right click on dayz in steam, properties, local files, check files for errors)

First i tried to start DayZ via DZSA launcher, that already gave me the version mismatch error. I started it anyway, resulting in a bunch of error messages and a crash. After that I used the game launcher, started DayZ without any mods and reached the main menu without any problems. After that, I loaded up DZSA launcher again and joined our modded server without any more problems.

Z can also stand for Zero, like patient zero or day zero, where it all began. Let your imagination flow. Anyway, this is getting a tad bit too off topic, don't ya think?

Start the game without mods first, then activate them again and go have some fun. Had the same problem after 1.05 hit the floor.

*Infected, not zombies. As I said somewhere in another thread, look at them like 28 days/weeks later infected. Those were pretty good, too, but in DayZ their vision and hearing is not very good. Just duck and everything will be fine, you can duck-run 5m in front of them and they wont notice. Also, realistic? I mean yea, when looking outside I can see some zombie-like creatures lurking around from time to time, but I think the whole _game_ is far from being realistic. Authenticity may be more fitting.

Good old days 😉 I don't see a problem with shooting when clicking either. Our Survivors always got their finger on the trigger, so it would make more sense to me. It also could make a difference in combat, when adrenaline is rushing through your body and your finger gets shaky there was always the possibility of unintentionally pulling the trigger.

Somewhere along the line comes another turning point, the reason for the not so content rich 1.0, apart from the hasty release for unknown reasons. I can fully understand your frustration, we old PC players been there more then once. The misbehaviour of a few can have massive impact to all the other legit players. But on a bright side, you don't have to go through the classic cheating scum like shown in some of the old Frankie videos. All i can advise you is to find a trustworthy, private server with active admin staff that scans the logs for suspicious things on a regular basis, even if their hands are half tied up at the moment. I remember times where you could find M4s in pretty much every barn, so everone and their mother had an assault rifle. Not something to wish, believe me. Things will change, its just a matter of time.

Another update for you console mates.

Sounds pretty much like "The Forest" with zombies instead of cannibals and...things. Maybe that game would suit you. Also ArmA2/3 has tons of user made content involving zombies and missions, may be worth a look. But please, leave the sandbox like it is, without any missions or whatnot. This game is getting a more and more arcade feeling as it is. IMT also got a point, we may be "core feature complete" - whatever that was supposed to mean - but there is still a lot of stuff missing.

While the backpack thing would be a little over the top for my liking, balancing or a better simulation of pockets would be a welcome addition. I guess this is one of the things that got streamlined for console releases, making it as easy as possible to fit stuff in, even if it doesn't make much sense, like your example with cooking pots inside pants. But as already stated, this will more then likely be a job for modders, just like fishing, helicopers, diversitiy of weapons etc etc...at least we can climb now, yay.

Np mate, always helping when i can. Since nobody came up with any ideas yet, I thought about this a little longer, going deeper into the other error messages that ticket is showing. We should check out the basics of the basics, hardware problems. I know I am ignoring some things, like the friend logging into your friends account with the same outcome, but better safe then sorry. Lets concentrate on 3 things, GPU, HDD und RAM. The easy thing first. GPU problems are pretty easy to check, download the FurMark ( https://geeks3d.com/furmark/ ) - it may look like a hairy butt, but it will show GPU probems very effectively and quick. Crank up those parameters and let it run for a while. Next up, HDD. That notebook comes with a HDD and an SSD (1 TB HDD, 256 GB SSD). I guess Windows is on the HDD. From my time as an apprentice I can highly recommend Hirens Boot CD ( https://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ ) for diagnostics. That thing comes with a bootable OS and a lot of tools to sniff out hardware problems. Older versions may also work if you can't find what you are looking for on the current version. For the SSD i would go with tools from the hardware manufacturer, like Samsungs Magician for checking the health status. Usually HBCD also comes with a RAM diagnostic and afaik Windows also got a build in one. I recommend more then 1 check. If every check ends up OK, great, but not so great when looking at our problem here.
