But please don't tell him about cannabis or morphin ingame, or else the game gets banned again on certain continents 🤣

I just lost several geared characters?
MaVerick_GDZ replied to Jake Blake's topic in New Player Discussion
Then this is the wrong place to ask. Get in touch with the admins, if possible, and ask them why they thought a wipe was a good idea. -
I hope the official to make the short tube HK416 and holographic sight!

Ah i see, thanks for the clarification. You earned your beans, sir. -

I gotta admit that my military knowledge is pretty basic due to being a "war objector" (google translation, Kriegsdienstverweigerer) and a tend to agree with you about the limited numbers of different weapons, but wouldn't any NATO country bring their own hardware to the conflict? Afaik our boys and girls down in Kosovo or A-Stan are wielding the G36 and other standard Bundeswehr hardware. Therefore if we take Arma2 lore into account and the hasty retreat NATO was forced to, it is quite possible for many different type of guns laying around, waiting for our dirty survivor hands to grab them. -

If Arma2 is part of the lore, which we don't really know because there is no lore except for "The post-soviet country of Chernarus is struck by an unknown virus", then they would fit pretty well. At least a few more, like the promised M249 SAW i've been waiting for years to get my hands on again. Maybe a 1:3 ratio? -
Dunno why you have the urge to bring this on a personal level. Pretty much the only sentence worth reading is the last one. Well, another thread better off ignored.
-
"The first publicly available development build was released on December 16, 2013" - check your math mate, its still 2019 afaik, and according to sales figures it didn't really fail. Anyway, what exactly is your point now apart from nonsense ranting? Did you even change your server so your character could be forced to a new position? Because thats pretty much the point of this thread and you fail to deliver that information. Edit: Not that i am a fan of this...um...solution, a simple timer would have been more than enough to stop server hopping in combat at least from my point of view. What we have now is way over the top.

Not saying they can't be used, i am talking about good use, like without having to stand still to look through.

Number Beside Names on Player List
MaVerick_GDZ replied to Some_Random_Guy's topic in Troubleshooting
That usually means that the name is already in use and the 2nd or 3rd player connecting with the same name gets a 2 or 3 at the end. It can also happen when someone is lagging out and is trying to reconnect too fast. -
Can't...resist.... *cough* Anyway, they are on it and we (in this case, you console dudes) will be updated once they know more.

Patience is the key when it comes to DayZ, much to learn you have young padawan.

If you take a look at this thread: There are several possible reasons for a server to crash, at least on PC. I guess same goes for console servers right now, maybe a few possibilities more or less. Thinking about it, it may not be the best idea to post those things public as long as they are not fixed on stable/consoles...

Losing Fully Geared Player On PS4
MaVerick_GDZ replied to FirefighterSFVFD_1's topic in New Player Discussion
Only way to know for sure would be for an admin to check the logs. But i suspect you played on a public server, right? Edit: Looks like Char losses are a thing. -
Losing Fully Geared Player On PS4
MaVerick_GDZ replied to FirefighterSFVFD_1's topic in New Player Discussion
If that disconnect was not caused by a server crash, rather something on your end, your character stays ingame for a couple of minutes (120 seconds on our server, i don't know the timer for vanilla tbh). Its very possible that a zombie ate you or another player killed you by that time. Btw, wrong forum corner buddy, this is for PC. -
You should be fine. Not everything, but theres a chance for a few items to get ruined when killing somebody. Yep. Works most of the time. Thats one way to do it, the better way would be to change mags via hotkeys. You have to load those mags manually though, bullet for bullet. Umm this one is a bit tricky. For as long as i can remember you were always better off going inland asap, since finding something to eat is still somewhat luck based. You can collect some apples (on the floor now, no spamming) or get some fresh bambi fat for a start. Its delicious.

I'd stick to glowsticks because they can't be seen so easily from distance, every other lightsource is pretty much a big "shoot me" sign over your head. But since NVGs aren't effectively usable on consoles yet you still got an even playing field. Alternatively wait for the moon to come out and stick to the forest edges when travelling, with a little bit of map knowledge you should be able to make your way.

You know, i was just about to ask you if you did follow the link in that error message...but as it turns out i get a big fat 404 when trying to reach that page. Well, this might help: https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Sadly i don't have any values to work with, but an educated guess would be that a flashbang right on the head can hurt big times. Maybe i can find a guinea pig to test this. Edit: I was asking around in our community. Turns out our members did some testing, usually die flashbang doesn't do any damage, even when laid right on the head. But there seems to be a bug that would instantly kill a player when in the reach of a flashbang explosion, most of the times it was the player standing the furthest away from the explosion.

Anyone else getting dinged by Steam for up-voting mods?
MaVerick_GDZ replied to Leah Snow's topic in General Discussion
Stuff in Steam forums and workshops can't have any real consequenses to you and your games as far as i am aware. Haven't received a ban yet, but a warning a few weeks ago for asking a Tropico 6 dev if he took PR lessons from BI Studios for giving out cookie cutter answers. Some people don't have any humour. -
Thats intended, they make a bit of damage to players close by. A not-so-healthy player might die of this.

Beefy hardware is absolutely nessessary for good performance with 60+ players. I think Nitrado underestimated this, resulting in problems when servers are getting full. As a customer you are left with a few choices, reduce your maximum slots to a degree where it keeps being playable when full, send them one support ticket after another so things get moving or cancel your server as a last resort if nothing helps. Expecting a playable experience with 100 slots is pretty illusional at this point, even on PC. We have drawn the line at 70 slots atm, server FPS are getting some serious hits with everything above that.
-
Usually your server hoster and/or the devs will let you know about necessary wipes with an upcomming update a few days in advance.
-
Did you open a support ticket at nitrado and ask them? Thats the first thing i would do.
