AFAIK there is a system in place that deletes unused stuff after 40something days. We should also differentiate between wipes that are announced and part of a release, and those caused by someone pushing some buttons and doesnt know what hes doing until the whole system crashes, but not telling anyone whats up. Looking at the date this thread was posted, i suspect the second option.

Take a look at Kalypso, somehow they are pretty alive despite screwing the customers with every release again and again and again...and yes, for some reason I still bought Tropico 6 with the hope that things will get better and because my wife wanted something to play in coop. BIS history of support isn't that bad, every Arma title received patches and care until the next one came out. With the rising popularity of the DayZ Mod back in the days, they took care of Arma2 again even if its lifetime was about to fade. But the DayZ team is something different, at least for the last few month. We now have some sort of communication blockade or simple unwillingness of engaging with the community (not counting screenshot tweets here). Nobody knows whats really going on.

As much as i appreciate this apology, it still doesn't explain the half assed communication concering the update which brought this whole mess. Why do you guys thought it was a good idea to bring out an update without any information whatsoever? Our community is depending on working communication from you guys, we need to know whats comming, even if its just a small 1.1MB update. Is that so hard to understand?

Private servers are...well...private and owners are never forced to wipe them after an update unless the hoster screws up, which has happened in the past on PC at least once. It is recommended most of the time though.

Back in the "good old days", there was communication. But if you take a look around, since a few month it has become like talking to some higher beings and only a few choosen ones are getting responses if all stars lined up...or if you post a meme on twitter. There is no engagement with the community (execpt for some streamers maybe) or, god forbit, taking part in a discussion. Its sad really, because i know BIS can do better. Also I've seen next to none activity from the moderator team here, except for deleting some spam posts here and then. But since their work is voluntary it isn't as bad as BIS total communication stop.

Sounds like a release to me.

But instead of going wild on a forum we took a realistic approach and reduced the slots to a payable and playable level, 70 seems to be the sweet spot for now. When we were still forced to "choose" between a small number of exclusive hosters 1x60 was enough. But devs using money to create something...damn, you are onto something there, 9/11 all over again man. Whats next, people getting payed for work? Or people working on different things at the same time, like bugfixing and new content? Can't be! Did you play the game before renting a server? If yes, you knew what was coming. Did you read the annoucements? If yes, you knew what was coming. You even could have just hold on to your money for a few more days and wait for user comments about stability etc. Instead you jumped straight on the wagon, ignoring every warning in plain sight.

Anyone who joined into early access already got the game for much less then release price and most likely sporting hundreds of hours gametime. I got my fair share of fun out of the game and if I can support further development with 10€ or something, I will do it. The map looks good, we already know that everything except the map is also going into the main game and bugfixing is also continuing. Stop bitching already.

Not like I support this kind of practice, we've been there with "Fragnet", paying a fortune every month for laughable service and hands tied behind our backs for way too long.
