True. I'm new to dayz though have watched countless hours on You tube. My first couple of characters died fairly quickly of thirst or starvation. I was also naive about the map. When you've watched lots of dayz you feel you know it until you actually start rolling around 225 square km of map. But you quickly pick it up and become familiar with routes and hotspots.this game will definitely get harder and more challenging as things are added. If people are frustrated already, it's probably not the game for them. I don't agree with the idea of character wipes as a norm. I accept the need in updates, but wouldn't want it as a feature. Maybe those that want this sort of feature might benefit when private servers are introduced and you can have whatever rules you want in your own server, but it definitely shouldn't be forced on everyone.

This happened to me on another tower/chimney near cherno! Thankfully on a newish spawn.

I died because of this. I was looting military tents up near staroye and got greedy. Suddenly two guys appeared and flanked me and all I could do was walk to cover! Toooo slow! I always travel light now.

Hmm, I'd like to see a clip that shows this is Xbox. Everywhere I've read suggests they are not in game yet. I'm pretty sure PC experimental has them in but not console yet.

You need to get your blood pressure checked, no need to be hostile, it won't achieve anything.

Stop moaning, this is game preview and it's commonly known that some updates will reset characters occasionally. Don't get attached to your character until full release or go play cod

There are a gazillion threads on this already. Nothing to do with server hopping, this can happen on a fresh game boot up

Yeah, I'm UK based and have never been able to connect to NL servers so have to use American servers.

I wash my hands my emptying my hands and standing 'near the water edge. Then press X

Finding food and drink isn't that challenging. Especially at the moment because water doesn't need purifying. Kill a chicken, eat a mushroom, lots of food about. Don't sprint everywhere like a maniac.

I like the silenced akm, always seem to find more ammo for it. I have two scopes for it, the pso and the red dot one which I switch between depending on situation. I'm also carrying a mosin, but yet to find a mag or a scope for it yet. I always carry a knife and axe, i like to spend time hunting and cooking in the woods. Also always have a compass as I tend to stay clear of towns. Finally, I love the cowboy hats, and whatever camo gear I find and I always wear an improvised backpack. It's big enough for my needs and blends in to the terrain nicely. I did have a coyote but it stuck out like a sore thumb and carried so much gear I couldn't run!

Ah, thought that might be the case as i discoveredthat with sewing kits. I also understand duct tape fixes backpacks. Are leather sewing kits for boots and coats?

I haven't managed to get a weapon cleaning kit to work yet. Does it only work on damaged guns, as I've only tried it on worn guns?

They will need to implement something quick to use such as a dpad option. I wouldn't want to fumble about in party menus switching chat modes while the random person I'm trying to talk to axes me in the head!

I expected bugs, been watching this game on you tube for years and am pleasantly surprised by how well the game is running. Friends that have played on PC are also impressed with how well it runs. Well done to the devs, keep it coming.

I've had no issues yet, shot three players, a few zombies and a cow!

So far the majority of this forum is really supportive. I myself am a console plebian, though have waited to play this game for many years. Hopefully, the forum will continue to be supportive to us new comers. So many gaming forums are full of PC elitists slagging off console players. But surely introducing this game to consoles has given a fresh lease of life to a great and unique game and ensured continued support and development. To those that have played on PC and console, how do you think the console version holds up so far, and how do you see it's future?

I get occasional issues but never taken more than a minute or two to get into a server.

It doesn't work, I tried to create a second character so my son could play on his profile but I think it's locked to your ip address. I guess it's some sort of anticheat logic, but it's really annoying that my son will not be able to play.
