Sorry to start another loot spawn topic. Can't remember this specific thing in the threads so forgive me if it's been mentioned before. I was watching someones base on the server I normally go on and was checking the sheds round about looking for burlap. I found two sea chests in a shed. I'm pretty sure they were a natural spawn and not placed. They were also empty. It just so happened that at that moment the server restarted. I was expecting it to, as it had just given the one minute warning. Upon reentry to the server, the same two chests were in the same shed. So, I assumed they had been placed after all. But then I noticed the other buildings I'd been on also had the exact same loot in them after the restart. Now, I was always under the impression that loot respawned with random items after a server restart. Is this not the case?

I know you've mentioned old dayz veterans before, but who do you know that probably has the best knowledge of loot mechanics in the current build? It would be interesting to know if or how they have changed loot mechanics from previous versions.

From what I gather about the way loot works, duping doesn't affect the spawn rates. I have no facts to base that opinion on other than what I've read by other people who have a better understanding of the games mechanics. They could, of course, be wrong but unless the devs pass comment on this we won't know. Realistically though, I don't see how it could affect anything. People bring loot in and out of servers constantly, without duping. Whilst I don't approve of duping, or any game exploits and cheats, I don't feel heavily affected by it. I just think it's sad for the people doing it that they must get very little real satisfaction from doing it. I guess it's mostly kids with very short attention spans doing it.

Err, OK, I wasn't making a political statement, merely pointing out that guns are not common in the UK. Socialism? Err again, no clue what you're talking about. Also never used the term 'assault weapons' so not clear what point you're trying to make there. I wasn't actually referring to you in my statement specifically, but there are many on here that feel they should spawn fully geared.

I genuinely get confused when people talk about how rare and hard to find guns are. I live in the UK so I guess I'm used to not seeing guns in every house. Personally, I think things like shotguns and rifles should only have a chance at spawning on isolated farm houses, as farmers would have had weapons such as those. Maybe the occasional pistol or smg in police stations. Guns are very common. If I don't have at least a pistol and shotgun within one hour of spawning then I'm not looking hard enough. Guns should be hard ts to find. Or maybe the people complaining about lack of guns are salty because they don't have an assault rifles within ten minutes of spawn? I'm sure I'll get attacked for saying that. I often here comments like "I ain't got hours to play, I got a wife and kids and a job and I'm... and I'm... Yadda Yadda yadda". Well, I got all that too. So, if I'm jumping on the xbox for an hour, I play a game that gives me that fix for an hour. Sometimes that might be dayz and ill just do a bit with my character, or I might jump on battlefield and have some firefights. But I certainly wouldn't jump on dayz to get my fix of gun fights. In fact, dayz is probably the last game I would use for that. And I think that most people who have played dayz for any length of time would agree. And that's not a criticism of dayz and its combat, that's just the nature of the game. Hours of looting interspersed with two minutes of heart pounding player engagement. That's the beauty of dayz and all the suggestions for adding lots of weapons and making them more readily available just diminish this unique quality that the game has.

I love the mosin too. The pu scope is easier to find than the mosin itself in my experience. Always find pu scopes at the hunting camps. The first one I normally head for is the one just north of the dam on the south west edge of the map. Never been there and not found one.

I find AKs regularly, every time I pass through the tents at staroye I find at least two. I'm reluctant to mention my server number in case it's a lucky server but I find that many ARs I would personally like to see them become a rarer item. It's too easy and to quick to get fully armed up.

It's just common sense, k&m has an advantage over controller. Servers should offer controller only servers and maybe make k&m servers open to all. That way controllers don't have to be at a disadvantage but can go onto k&m servers if they choose to. That way every is catered for and nobody can moan.

No, just trying to avoid the dumbing down of yet another game.

Is there any hard evidence that duping is preventing weapons spawning? I've been finding lots of assault rifles. Maybe lucky in the server I play on.

Apartments could certainly do with some loot but not sure what you mean about houses. They normally have loot in them.

It doesn't take me for hours to find a gun, and my bullets work just fine. Clearly this isn't a game for you so I was offering some alternatives.

There are some really good options already actually. You could try CoD or even battlefield. Or, if you like a shrinking map with loot everywhere and don't mind playing with eight year olds, try fortnite. For a laggier experience there is also pubg. Of course, if your just looking for a hardcore survival game that takes time and effort, try dayz.

How are you using the duct tape? I think there's a bug that causes that if you use the duct tape while it's on the ground. But it should be OK if you use it from your inventory.

My first death in the game... A friend and I were at nwaf and I was on the prison. My mate was on his way to the prison when someone fired shots at him so he bolted into the prison with me. The guy outside was shouting for us to come out. We had a standoff for around fifteen minutes and we were shouting back that we could hold up on there for days so come and have a go if he thinks he's hard enough. As the doors opened my mate opened fire and I popped my head out at the same time and he shot me by mistake. My mate died seconds later when the guy rushed in. I'm such a pro.

I found a base at Moglievka on NL8157 with chests full of human meat so I assume they were bandits. I watched the base for a while and didn't see any activity. I went back the next day and the chests were full of zucchini, so maybe they saw the error of their ways and became vegan. Well, it is veganuary after all!

I find sniper towers the best place to find mags. Found four AKs at staroye tents last night. It's the funny thing about assault rifles, I'll either find a load of M4s or a load of AKs but rarely a mix.

Well touch wood, so far, never been sick. But only ever drink from wells and from loot spawned canteens. Also generally play solo so not much chance of catching it off friends with dirty habits! Sometimes I'll boil water if I've got a stove. I haven't tried using water purification tablets to clean up River water as I heard somewhere that they didn't work. Does anyone know if they work now?

It's been a while since I played Ark, but if I remember rightly, the official servers are all locked but I think there was a way you could travel between servers after beating the bosses maybe?
