This was always a cool aspect of Ark and different recipes having different effects such as underwater breathing, etc. Hang on, I'm not suggesting dayz should have underwater breathing lol. But maybe some recipes give more blood back and maybe some extend your stamina for a given period of time. Maybe some make you really thirsty, like a hot curry and you need to keep drinking!

Well apparently he was enjoying using the shotgun last night so who can tell!

I get what you're saying but I got used to it in like twenty seconds. I assume they have a reason for changing it which will become apparent at some future time.

Well personally I'm still loving the game. Yes, it's full of bugs still, and generally that really grinds my gears on games. But, with dayz I am happy to make an exception. I waited a long time for this on console and I haven't been disappointed yet. Had some great interactions with other players, not always hostile, and had some cool adventures with people. The game is still on game preview but will probably always be plagued by bugs but I wouldn't let it put you off. Its a really nice game to look at and plays pretty smoothly most of the time. The server I play on is always pretty full and had a mixed bag of people on it. I would try the free one hour demo first though. It won't really give you a true insight into the game, but will at least be more informative than asking on this forum. There are some very vocal haters who will be sure to join in this thread before long.

Yeah I generally do too unless doors are already open. Even then I generally close them.

I find the scope takes about 2 seconds to render in the first time you use it on a server. After using it once it will always render instantly after that. So, I usually use my scopes add soon as I log onto a server for the first time, then you're good to go for the remainder of the time spent on that server.

The one I saw the other day had smoke coming from it. Not sure if it just stops after a while or whether they sometimes just don't smoke though.

Zoom is LB now. It's intentional so I wouldn't expect a 'fix'. Seems like an odd reason to stop playing though.

No, specifically dayz. I understand what the hold breath feature is designed to do. I just don't think it would completely stop sway in real life unless your an elite trained sniper maybe, as opposed to a hapless survivor. A bipod really would help though. I find it unrealistic in games like battlefield where it completely locks the scope movement. It just seems that every dayz youtuber I've seen has had to cope with sway, waiting for the right moment to shoot.

Yeah, they probably looked at changelog for pc too and made 2+2=Thursday. Stick to the official changelog. They sometimes miss things off but never include things that haven't been added.

Now now, he's just pointing out how the game is intended to be played. Military gear should be rare. I come across AKs and M4s fairly often, especially in the tents near staroye. Maybe I'm 'lucky' or maybe it's the server I'm on, but I wish they were harder to find. It's too easy to get heavily armed. Ammo is too common, less ammo would make people think twice about engaging in combat. This ain't battlefield.

Re-watching FrankieonPc series again! Also Mr. Blackout, and Deadly Slob did a really good survival series.

I drink from wells directly and fill bottles from them and never boil it or add chlorine tablets. Never worn a gas mask. Always take cans off zombies and eat without disinfecting or boiling. Never used vitamin tablets. Never been ill.

I know that it can be frustrating spending days looking for a particular thing right? But how rewarding is it when you finally find it! In most games like skyrim for example, I barely even care about the stiff I pick up but in dayz everything you find has meaning because you need it for survival or have been looking for it for days. I never thought I would get excited about finding a bit of old burlap sack. I think that's the great usp of this game, everything is hard fought to get and is more rewarding because of it.

To be honest, I don't even pick repair kits up anymore, just good ol' gaffer tape, the one stop shop for all household repairs!

Ah well I guess I have been. Maybe it's the server I'm on. Also never have any loot issues on this server. Also frame rate is decent in cities. I was passing through cherno yesterday and frame rate didn't drop once. Just got that strange audio lag for about ten seconds when I was looking through some garages.
