I think both of these were the same prior to update. Even in sniper towers which are smaller, I could change position and vicinity would pick up a different item or an item would disappear from vicinity of I moved. The Bush thing was also an issue prior to the update though if you position just right you can get it. I thought they were supposed to have fixed that on the last update or the one before maybe but it didn't appear to get fixed.

I think if you can see at night without a light source, it's kinda pointless having night at all.
-
Some sort of torch is on order! Head torches are good as you can still fight zombies. If you're carrying a torch you can just click it on and off to get your bearings. You can also make a torch with rags and a stick. Also glow sticks and flares, pistol lights, etc. Lots of light sources available.

Generally I hide a barrel or chest nearby and collect the bits and then stick it all together when I've got everything.
-
... And dismantle it while you're offline!

Developers cater to people with no life outside of this game
DayzDayzFanboy replied to Porcelain_Punisher's topic in Xbox
There are lots of games that require a big investment of time so I don't see why dayz should be criticised for it. Aside from the current issue with duping/loot economy, you can get a character pretty well geared in an hour. Looting is a big part of the game. I'd hate to be a one man army before leaving the coast. Why would anyone ever head inland otherwise? -
Well I've sat in an olga with no tyres and it didn't blow. This used to happen with the Ada. Now, if the wheels of the Ada are in the ground, you can still get in and drive it. It just wobbles briefly while it corrects itself. Also had it in fifth gear and it didn't blow.
-
Sounds like the issue the Ada used to have sometimes. I wonder, did you notice if the wheels were partly in the ground?

I found a heli crash site last night just east of vybor. Ran over to take a look and not much there of any value except a large tent. I'm not really bothered about having a tent, but, thought what the hell. Then some guy had obviously been sat camping out for quite a while and started taking shots. He was a pretty bad shot to be fair but after about fifteen misses he finally knocked me uncon. So I thought, oh well, that's me done for, and waited for his footsteps to come and finish me off. He never did and I regained consciousness, bandaged, had a light meal and a couple of beers while he took another couple of bad shots. Then thought bugger it, picked up the tent and wandered off on the opposite direction. Another couple of bad shots pinged about and I left him to sit there in the rain. Got back to the house I was heading for and cooked u up some nice venison. Stitched up the holes in my jacket and wondered if he'd passed out from hypothermia yet. I hope he's reading this and feeling pretty dumb. I guess the moral of the story is, if ya gonna camp a crash site, at least be a decent shot.

Yeah I agree. I quite enjoyed the little bit of base building I did as an activity. My mate spent a week building it while I was away visiting family and then some teenagers came along one night and dismantled every last bit. Didn't quite see the point of that but hey ho, no sleep was lost. I've got a pretty good method for hiding stashes and that's good enough for me. I wish though, that you could board up a house and lock it so that it was safe and didn't unlock every time the server restarts. I always thought that it would be cool to occupy a flat on the apartment buildings. You could probably end up with quite a community living in one! But as you say, there isn't any point. It just shouts out "here's my stash". I think on a real zombie apocalypse I would hide and bury stuff. No matter how much you barricade a building, someone will get in if they want to.

I find the opposite. Generally new spawns have nothing to lose and will attack anything that moves.
-
Maybe your aim was off? I mean, it's possible right? Panic fire?
-
Just been through first full night cycle. Seemed OK.
-
Personally I thought night was just right until this update. Only briefly been in a night time server so haven't had chance to form an opinion yet but from what I'm reading it just sounds odd.
-
Definitely? And does that apply to any item because the other week I put a shovel on the ground when I was base building and it was gone twenty mins later.
-
I think you're taking it a little too seriously! And it had nothing to do with how well armed somebody is. If you're struggling to survive on the coast move inland.
-
Yeah, bikes would be cool, even pedal bikes would be a nice addition.
-
I've no clue what you're talking about.
-
I honestly don't know why you play the game. This is how dayz will always be. It clearly isn't the game for you then.
-
By lack of loot I assume you mean assault rifles right? Because there is plenty of everything else including a wide array of weapons. What we don't need is a rushed out update.

Hmm, I don't think you get the spirit of the game. If there was no kos players in the game how long do you think the game would hold your attention? Maybe if they ever bring solo offline mode for console you might enjoy that more? But if you think anything will ever stop some players from kos then you're in for lots of disappointment. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. The game is a huge social experiment. It is a fascinating study into how people would act in such a scenario. IRL some people would be friendly/cautious/hostile/bizarre, etc. But guaranteed, if you somehow eliminate all kos from the game then it will get real dull real quick. No need to move cautiously round military bases anymore? In fact, no need to go to military bases anymore because all players will be sat bored around a camp fire. No more tension in the game, no more heart jumping out of your chest when that bullet zips past you in the woods. Is that really what you want or have you just been shot on sight once too often? It's a real pisser when you get kos. I empathise. But I also know that dayz would not be dayz without the every present threat of kos.

@lex__1 I'm not sure I follow you. Are you suggesting that when you die, all your loot disappears? If that's what you meant then I don't agree. Where is the realism in that?
-
You have had a completely different experience from me then unfortunately. In fact, the more I think back I actually believe that I have had a lot less hostile encounters than friendly. It also occurred to me that the most hostile players I encounter are new spawns and not the fully geared guys. New spawns have nothing to lose. They give you a sob story about being new to the game and while you're pulling out a can of bacon for them they start swinging! I appreciate that everyone probably has different experiences in the game. I think it's also fair to say though that the bad experiences tend to stick on the mind more than the good ones maybe. One thing I definitely disagree strongly with is the idea of having the option to leave loot behind on death.
-
Some people do talk and interact and some don't. You're always going to get both types. I have a many positive encounters as I do friendly ones. Just the nature of the game.

It's very difficult to eliminate all cheating from all games. As much as it pisses me of I just accept it as part of gaming. There will always be someone who exploits a game mechanic or bug to their advantage.
