You will always get every type of player I guess. I remember watching some FrankieOnPC videos on the old Arma mod. You gained points for killing infected, healing other players, etc and with enough points you got the hero skin. If you killed innocent players you ended up with a bandit skin. This would be a cool feature on a private RP server maybe.

I've been on servers that seem to freeze for a split second every few minutes and I don't think it's people logging on. Seems to be a regular pattern. I've also had the odd random split second freeze which I have also assumed is someone joining the server. Other freezes have been on a change of weather pattern. Other than that I rarely suffer with this issue. I don't know why, but it seems to vary from server to server. I always play on NL servers. The one I'm currently on seems pretty smooth. It also seems crisper somehow, though that might be my imagination.

Bugging out how? What's happening exactly?
-
As is always the case in chenarus, you never find what you're looking for and then when you do, you find five. I always find all the parts and fuel for cars in abundance when I'm rolling around. As soon as I decide to build a car I suddenly can't find anything. I always repeat over and over in my head that I'm really looking for a pea coat in the hope that the elusive item I want appears. Not sure if it works but it makes me happy.
-
I agree, I've got cars up and running with nothing on them to fully fitted in five hours solo. I've also taken longer on other occasions. Just a case of getting lucky. Plus, they may already have a car which makes the process even quicker.

Yeah, the lady night time sucked for me because I've got a crap telly! At least on this one the playing field is more even.
-
I think the devs are aware of the duping issue. I think it may have been mentioned elsewhere.
-
No, doesn't need doors but needs a battery which you didn't mention and also oil. One can should be enough. Look, if you want to hook up some time I'm always happy to have company. Looting is safer with two

I started as a new spawn two hours ago at factory. Made my way up the coast for twenty mins collecting food and basic supplies. Headed west via Orlovets, Polana and Gorka. Most of that at night with a head torch. On my way to Stary with a shotty, SGK and an SKS with scope. Plenty of ammo, food and water. Nobody is disputing the bugs and issues with duping. But night time is playable and there is plenty of loot still kicking about. Just no assault rifles. This game had changed a lot. It will continue to change a lot. If you wait till the game does everything YOU want it to do in the way YOU want it to you'll have a long wait. The best thing you can do is play the game in whatever state it is in and adjust your play style to suit the current build, or, not play it at all. The devs are well aware of the current issues and are working on those issues. Find a bug...report it in the bug tracker. Its far more productive. You seem to be particularly struggling at night. You really do need a light source and a compass. Work out where you're heading and set off. Use the torch occasionally to navigate in towns. Head torch is best as it allows melee when infected take an interest in you. It's not meant to be easy.
-
Are you saying that torches have stopped working in your game? If so I would file a bug report. If you're just saying that you can't see across the airfield at night then, urm, yup, that's about right then. Coincidently, I have actually been outside at night in areas with no street lighting. Guess what? It was pitch black.
-
Cars have headlights right? Do you see the connection?
-
No, it doesn't seem logical that you'd play a survival sim and not want it to be a sim. I manage to travel the map and loot up at night quite happily. That is what torches are for. As Pilgrim has said, you don't need it on all the time. Just to get your bearings or search a room etc. If you can see clearly at night then night becomes pointless like it is on Ark, or any other game. It becomes purely aesthetic rather than a game affecting mechanic.

What do you mean?
-
Yes, server hopping is, as you say, really really boring. Hmm...
-
If you look back through the forums, you will see that people Did want longer darker nights. If you had spent half an hour on a night time server you'd probably be seeing the sunrise about now rather than hopping into another dark night. Seems logical right?
-
Anyone else constantly freezing?

Haven't had that happen to me yet. -
I would imagine low pop servers are more commonly night time and people have bailed out. But they are definitely not all on the same time zone at it were.
-
Oh well just server hop when it gets dark then. 🙄
-
I had the tactical vest and butt pack. I think I found them in barracks at nwaf shortly before I died to a swarm of zombies!
-
Well if you don't like night time, server hop into a day time server. Personally I like the night and adjust my play style when it gets dark. Avoid mil bases at night unless you're prepared for zombies. I feel safer looting at night but just got killed at nwaf when I got swarmed by zombies.

In an attempt to get off the dupe conversation, again, another tip for new players. Cooking pots ftw. Holds a ton of water and can also store 12 slots. I keep all my steaks in the pot with water. Also attach gas bottle and stove so you can boil river water and it still only uses up 12 inventory slots. Can also cook six steaks in the time it takes to cook one on a fire and you don't need to build a fire.
-
That's generally how I play it, have a look around it, take something if i really need it and leave something behind. I appreciate the effort people put in to their bases.
-
Until recently I was on NL3936 and had a base built at Zvir but looking for a new server now

I was just speaking from personal experience @Therealmaio
