I always find them when I'm not looking for them! I think I've only found four or five since the game came out. Probably circling green mountain might be a good start. Quite a few spots around there.
-
You can bury dry sacks and dry bags, ammo boxes, protective cases, sea chests and possibly medical cases?, though I haven't tried those yet.
-
Yeah, I think sometimes hiding things in plain sight is a good strategy. Buried containers can be a good method though you could still get unlucky if someone stumbles across it. I found seven buried stashes behind a shed in berezino. I went behind it to sort my gear out and hit a gold mine! I do bury stuff occasionally but usually I get a barrel and hide it in a river. Much harder to spot than a buried stash and you have to be on just the right spot to get the open prompt.

Also worth noting that locked doors reset upon server restart.
-
Yeah I keep finding the NV scope to, mainly in camo building.

Just noticed this the other day. If I'm in my inventory and my mate ties his own hands with duct tape, it brings me out of my inventory. Not a big issue but just wondered if anyone else noticed it? I guess it's related to getting tied up which would then prevent you from accessing your inventory. Maybe just a proximity issue?
-
Hmm, I wonder why I can't pick them up. I have closed the lid but still don't get the option to pick up.
-
Yup, shotty rocks. Look forward to the addition of a double barrel I can take a hacksaw to. Love carrying a .45 with suppressor for Zs and love a mosin or scoped hunting rifle. Feels more survivor-ish
-
Ah, had something similar. A few times I've had that issue where you can't scroll through inventory and I had to RB across to get it working again but wasn't sure what had triggered it.
-
Lol, I know. I didn't even recognise what it was at first. I didn't even pick it up, didn't see a need for it. Wish I'd taken a picture though.
-
I haven't had the game crash with voip yet. I talk to people quite often. When does this crash occur?
-
I'd heard it was in but then assumed it was in the game in the same way the ice pick is supposed to be in game, though never seen!
-
Yeah, we really need this option back
-
Well, I just found my first ammo box since the game was released on console!
-
Obviously having a car helps. If not, a big back pack with nothing in it. You can carry a couple of tyres or big objects in one and still run. Full Jerry cans totally rinse your stamina though, even in a back pack
-
Good point. Not even sure how to make one. Do you just take a normal barrel and combine with a knife or a different tool?
-
Not sure if it's a bug then, but every fire barrel I've found lately doesn't give the option to pick up. Normal barrels, no problem. Anyone else finding this?

Unrealistic nighttime/Forced to go loud on a survival

Sometimes, having a console instead of a pc isn't laziness. After you have paid your mortgage, bills and clothed and fed your children, there isn't 5k left to buy the beefy pc you rate so highly. -
We know who it was as we have observed the group for a few weeks, seeing the same group online. My mate got invited to a party by them. When he joined there were eight or nine screaming teenagers so he left the party. So, we know who the group are, and have observed them active in their base when there is nobody else on the server. Belive me, we've done our detective work. I wouldn't dream of destroying someone's hard work if I wasn't 100% sure. As others in this thread, I often leave things for people if its a legit base that isn't obviously the work of dupers or hoppers.
-
Not sure, I was under the impression that the whole map was stored on your drive and had nothing to do with servers or connection. I was watching TMRZ streaming and he mentioned something about it but maybe that's unique to pc? As I say, not sure, I'm not a tech person. I've just always assumed it's down to the ability of the xbox to render large numbers of objects. Ark gets around it simply by not even attempting to render distant forests, you just see bare mountains in the distance. To be honest, I'm still amazed it copes as well as it does.
-
Well I found the base of the guys that dismantled my base. Went found a sledgehammer and gave up, it takes forever. Then I realised a hatchet takes down a fence in three strikes. There base is now what you might call very open plan. Now I have more nails than I can carry.
-
Apparently it doesn't need oil.

Sometimes I play up and down the coast of I want to meet people. Had some fun encounters today. Got held up by four Americans on the wreck at Rify who turned out to be nice guys and gave me some stuff. Met various funny randoms. Met another guy, fresh spawn, who decided to beat me to death with a can of beans. Waved at two guys who then shot me, etc etc. But if I'm playing a geared character I tend to stay inland.

Lol, dayz, you gotta smile! I was laughing a few weeks ago. I was watching Sada streaming with Frankie and frankie died on a ladder and I remember he was laughing how after six years ladders were still an issue. On any other game, the bugs would drive me nuts. Maybe because I watched dayz on YouTube for years, I got used to seeing the dev history and the bugs and just expected it. I just love this game. DayZ giveth, and dayz taketh away.

You wanted action and excitement though right? What's more exciting than doing 70mph through a hostile city with no driver! Sheesh, no pleasing some people!
