If be glad to help out next time I'm on. I've got a couple of tents buried in chests near berezino!
-
Just found more stuff near berezino. Different server and just inland between north berezino and Rify. Ten large military tents and seven or eight civilian tents in a circle. Just in a field, not hidden, in a busy area. Clearly not bothered are they! I really don't like the idea of playing on a locked server but it's becoming more appealing as time goes by.
-
I've seen similar bases on a couple of servers at berezino on top of the really big industrial building at the northern end of the docks. Seems like a popular spot. Where was this one?
-
The tent looked massive, what was it?
-
I'm not sure I'm keen on that. Think of it another way. Player goes inland to nwaf, tisy, etc. Gets geared up. Switch server and teleport to coast. Kill new spawns. It's too much of a short cut for the idiots. I just think have locked servers off you want to do base building. If you're not base building just play on unlocked servers. I don't think I've ever come across ghosting yet. I'm not saying it doesn't happen because obviously it does. But, if you're in a scenario when you're up against other players, it's just common sense to not get pinned down in one place too long. If you do, keep your back to the wall! Maybe when you join a server you're character should make some kind of noise. I remember watching old videos where your character makes the sound of a gun loading when you spawn in. Same as logging out, you're character should make a noise of some sort.

If I wanted to do some base building and have a more RP style game I would choose to do that on a locked server for obvious reasons. But otherwise I agree, locking servers is restrictive on other ways.

Server hopping doesn't really bother me. Off people want to do it, that's five. It's always been a thing on dayz. We all know duping is the real issue. People hop servers to gear up our, as you mention, avoid night. But the dupers just duplicate items to a ridiculous level that really does affect the LE.
-
This all sounds promising and will definitely stop ghosting and server hopping. I don't know how to dupe, so would this stop duping too or can dupers rejoin the same server to duplicate? Hopping and ghosting are certainly annoying but duping appears to be the big issue that affects loot economy the most.
-
I would say a minute. I guess longer would be okay though as long as this doesn't happen on a server time out or game crash! I always generally log off for the night somewhere quiet and hidden but a five minute timer on a crash would be distressing.
-
Perhaps you need to learn some patience then.

I found eight sea chests on the beach near the wreck at Rify. I'm assuming someone was in the process of duping them? Anyway, wasn't sure how to dispose of them so just buried them all in the woods. Waited for a good half an hour to see if anyone turned up but nothing so headed off.
-
Ditto, don't know how to dupe and usually leave the coast once I have food, never to return again, but I guess we know where you're at now.
-
The best one I experienced was watching cows being chased by zombies who were then being chased by wolves. I can't remember the village, but it was absolute chaos. I just holed up in a first floor of a house watching.

The number of quick slots you have increases depending upon what you are wearing.

If you could get a refund on any game with a bug in it you'd never have to pay for a game again! Read the small print
-
Nope, not yet you can't.
-
Disconnection from the server. Happens occasionally.
-
What do you mean? I understand your concerns about ghosting, but I'm not aware of any persistence issues. I've had loot stashed for a few weeks without any issues. I don't really go in for base building. Never saw the point in this game. The most I would want to be able to do is board up windows and lock a door. Building seems to be a lot of effort with no benefits. Burying loot seems a better option.

Duct tape definitely fixes backpacks. Unless it's ruined. Nothing fixes a ruined item. Anyway, leather sewing kits turn up all over the place, houses, garages, etc. Never picked them up though as duct tape fixes everything.

Sick of carrying this tent now. Messaged another dude who said he'd have it. Ran all the way back up to the garage between dubrovka and Krasno. He's building a base on the roof. I got to the treeline and was just watching his base for a minute. Then I heard shots nearby. Messaged him and he said it wasn't him. Then I looked at the server and he wasn't online anymore. I asked him and he said he was on with another account. Spider sense started tingling. Then I heard rustling of someone in bushes nearby. He claimed to be in the garage but I couldn't see him. I just got the feck outta there. Something didn't feel right. Soo, I still have this bloody tent and I'd like someone to have it as I don't just want to dump it.

I found a car tent yesterday in the apartments at cherno. I picked it up purely because I haven't seen one in months, but I don't want it. I messaged a few people on the server I'm on and one guy replied saying he'd have it. By the time I got to his base at Orlovets, he'd logged off. So, it's up for grabs if anyone wants it. I don't want anything for it, but if you have spare netting or a butt pack I wouldn't say no!

I'm online now if anyone wants it?

True, tools should last longer. But, at least you can keep repairing with duct tape.
