And you're surprised why, exactly? It was pretty clearly announced it would be a full wipe, which it generally is after a big update. So, what's wrong, did you lose all your duped gear?
-
It usually takes twenty four hours for the servers to settle down and behave so I'm not sweating it! Can't wait to get some jam 😋
-
Have fun guys, I'm at work till tomorrow morning 😢
-
The whole point of open mic is so that you can talk to someone and still have the ability to move around. If you don't want to talk with someone, don't run around with 15 people.
-
Right, well you and your three mates can turn it off can't you. Why should the majority suffer over something you can toggle. The way you're talking you'd think someone was running around every two minutes with a crackly mic. I haven't seen another player in two days. So stop making ridiculous suggestions just because you're too lazy to change a setting.
-
You'd only hear it if you stood near them and it would at least alert you to someone nearby. You can also mute people and turn voip off in options. The rest of us would like it back though. We like to try communication before we gun someone down.
-
But you still play though right?
-
I seem to remember in the mod that chainsaws and satchel charges were the only thing capable of breaking in, and even then certain structures such as metal doors couldn't be breached. I still like the idea of stripping base building right down to basics. Boarding up rooms and locking doors that don't unlock on server restarts. Clearly there would need to be some system in place to prevent every house on a village being locked down. Maybe certain types only such as apartments maybe.
-
You have more time than I'd expect? How much time do you think I expect you to have? No clue what you're talking about. Why do you need to relog? I've never had an issue eating or drinking. That's a new one on me, lil guy. And you found this data where, exactly? You're three mates? I did, I'm not the one pleading ignorance x
-
You need to open tinned food first before attempting to eat it. This can be done with a can opener but you can also use knives and axes. Your welcome 😉

Ah, so you have done a little research into other games then? The bit I'm struggling with is this... You bought the game full price and hate it for the reasons you've stated right? Then, you buy it again because its on sale right? And still here you are bitching and moaning about it right? Has the penny dropped yet? If you hate the game that much, maybe don't buy it twice and hang out in the forums. Just get rid of it and do us all a favour.
-
So why buy it again then? Some people live a good moan
-
No, my personal experience is very different. I find first person servers generally more hostile. Third person servers I've played on I would guess around half of the people I met were friendly. I've had not one single friendly encounter in first person servers. I think maybe because you have less peripheral vision people are a little more nervous and less trusting maybe?
-
We definitely need the toggle back. I don't know why you wouldn't want it. If you don't like to use it, and prefer to kill on sight, then don't use it. But let the rest of us who want to engage with other players have the option to do so. This game is all about interaction in all its forms.
-
I do
-
That's pretty much how I feel. I have never been that bothered about communication from game companies. I just play the games and read change log notes when an update drops. It baffles me why people get so worked up about it. I'd say BI probably have more communication with the community than a lot of companies. EA are pretty bad at keeping the community in the loop. I play minecraft from time to time and they have a huge community, far bigger than dayz, but I wouldn't say they are any better at communication particularly.
-
Absolutely. Even with the bugs, no other game has this level of immersion and intensity imo
-
I agree. Doesn't Steam set a limit on time played before refunds run out?
-
If you think the game is that bad more fool you for buying it twice. Like, that makes sense right?
-
I bought it day one on xbox so only paid £30 for it. I've played just shy of 1000 hours. That's 3p/hour. That's pretty damn good value for any form of entertainment and I have more hours to go. Hell, I've paid £15 to watch crap films for two hours. You either enjoy the game or you don't.
-
Did you decide not to get a refund then?
-
I'm sure if we rearrange the words in that sentence it will eventually make some sort of sense. When it finally does resolve into a coherent statement maybe a mod will then merge it into one of the hundreds of other threads on the same topic.

WHY HAVE THIS 'DAYZ OFFICIAL' FORUM IF ...
DayzDayzFanboy replied to Tyler Tee H C's topic in New Player Discussion
I guess forums aren't solely for giving info on updates. They are community forums for people to discuss ideas, ask questions, make suggestions, etc. Unfortunately this forum seems to be turning into a competition for the best put downs. -
So much anger! Haven't people got other games to play while they wait?
-
Yeah, played it, really cool game. It reminded me of Limbo.
