New on Xbox and desparate for pliers

Lol, I find them all the time and don't need them! Typical of the dayz gods. But next time I'm on, if I find some I'll message you. Hopefully you'll have found some before then though! I'm guessing you've looked in the usual places, sheds, garages, industrial buildings etc.

    Noob question: storage persistence

Yeah, so the barrel will stay wherever you leave it, but just on that server. It's also worth noting that in the last update, despawn times have increased. So if you drop loot on the floor it stays there a long time now. Not sure how long, but the other day I dropped some stuff from my inventory and logged off for the day. The next day when I logged back on it was still there, so I'm guessing at least 24 hours. As for barrels, chests, crates etc, I think they stay for longer but again, I couldn't say how long as I tend not to stash things. IIRC buried items are persistent for 40 days, but don't quote me on that.

    Noob question: storage persistence

Loot is linked to that server. Also, if you server hop, you will respawn on a random location. They introduced this to prevent server hopping and ghosting.
  4. You can also make improvised shelter using cured animal hide. Not sure of the recipe off the top of my head.

    A few solid sessions in....

Twelve rags to make rope. You can also make a torch with a stick and rags

    A few solid sessions in....

@Crankgorilla glad to hear you're getting into it. It is a learning curve and your also learn to survive/avoid some of the killer bugs. But death is part of the cycle, however it finds you. It really is quite a unique game and worth persevering with. Also a more rewarding experience when played with friends.

    New Update

I haven't heard that they are, but they added the spawn locations on izurvive app recently. This may be for PC as I believe rabbits used to be in but caused some issues (on pc, long before console development!). It would certainly be a nice addition, especially if we could craft snares. Either way, a good use for the Spotter!

    New Update

    So why are you complaining?

    New Update

They wouldn't have been hired in the first place if they weren't developing for console. As far as it being a waste, I think the console players would disagree. You're clearly one of those players who likes to moan and is looking for someone to blame. If the game upsets you so much you don't have to play it, right?

    Food and survival rate

Just join a community server, there are loads of boosted loot and pvp servers

    Initial Reaction

    Have you tried community servers?

Realism is subjective, you're playing a zombie apocalypse game. You've confused hyperthermia with hypothermia. This aside, hypothermia is a real threat when you're cold and wet in a cold party of Russia and will kill you. No it really isn't. It's difficult when starting off, but once you know what you're doing it becomes easy to survive. It's a learning curve. If you could survive for days and days on a tin of beans it kinda stops becoming a survival game and becomes pubg. You have two options. Either play pubg or join a community server that has boosted loot. Have you tried community servers yet?

    Unkown illness

True, better safe than sorry. A few updates back I was playing with a friend and he kept getting ill. We couldn't work out what was causing it. The only thing we could narrow it down to was the fact that the knife he killed infected with was also what he used to open food tins. Will never know for sure I guess.

    New Update

This simply isn't true. Dayz was a troubled game long before console development. And it wouldn't have been developed as far as it is without console release. Sorry to burst your bubble but dayz problems have nothing to do with console release.
  15. Yeah, I'm hardcore vanilla too, I prefer the challenge. I hope the game in its current state scratches the itch for you.

    New Update

I think console players would disagree. I personally don't find anything lacklustre with it, and the cash injection from console sales certainly didn't 'take anything away'
  17. I love console version, though as said above there is still room to add/fix things. But it's got a lot going on with hunting, survival, base building, etc. I'm guessing you're on pc, so you have all the modded content too of course.
  18. I'm curious how you know it was Chinese hackers and what exactly transpired?

    Food and survival rate

Have you actually tried playing on community servers with boosted loot? If you're really finding the game that difficult maybe try that.

    Unkown illness

It's worth noting that wearing gloves prevents infection. You don't need to take them off or change them after cutting up meat

    Snow

Definitely, the winter chernarus looks amazing.
  22. DayzDayzFanboy

    Food and survival rate

You'll soon learn where to look. It's meant to be difficult. Personally I don't think it's hard enough

    Question about 9v battery.

Hmm, not sure about scopes. There is obvious battery drain on torches, nvgs, etc. But I don't tend to use red dot scopes that much so couldn't say for sure. My guess is that it's only when ads, but I'm guessing.

    Server Owner Abuse

    What's the abuse?
  25. DayzDayzFanboy

    Painfully Clear Now

You've obviously done something to make yourself ill.
