    Official HC (Hardcore) Server

    Can you please refer me to a guide that explains how to achieve that? I was able to eliminate canned food on my PVE hardcore test server but the zombies carry constant food deliveries.

    Stable Update 1.06

    This could have been a huge game changer if it worked correctly and logically, and/or explained with proofs. Frankly, I always forget about that somehow the moment I log in. I have a character that already constructed 3 bases (large community compounds). Today I checked the skills and it's just in the middle, even when I hold any tool or weapon, it never moves. Maybe its a bug, maybe it's another incomplete feature, maybe it represents an average of all skills, which is in that case just not logical or just vague. Either way, after using so many hammers my character should receive "The Hammer of Thor" by now.

    DayZ recap 2019, please?

    A short while ago, I spent some time in the "Graveyard" and have read many posts on different threads. Found many interesting ideas that I wanted to ask about and discuss, but they were from 2015 mostly, and forgotten. Those guys thought and talked about almost everything already. Unfortunately, nothing new to discuss here, except for expressing more rants and feelings 🙂 It's 2020, and still, a sniper cannot use a walkie-talkie as a bait. You can't do anything in the car except for sitting/driving. We need more content.

    Moving into 2020

    This guy knows what he's talking about. Soft Skills are key feature for a much deeper experience. Players should get attached to their characters, spawn with random basic skills and work their way with what they have. I really wish that BI will dedicate 2020 for developing these aspects of the game.

    True. We tried that on our vanilla public server. 1. Fires with stones disappears after server restart. 2. I made a stone oven, it was in place at least 2 days until restart. 3. When a fire with stones gets wet in the rain, the temp drops to ~19.6 and it's impossible to detach the stones from it. Logged back in a day after, it was sunny, fireplace was dry and only then I could interact with it's contents (damaged wood and stones). 4. It could make it easier for 1st timers if there was any indication for how many stones are needed (textual and visual). 5. Ovens should take much more stones and be persistent forever. Just another small wish of mine... 🙂

    Radio and PA - what is your experience?

    I mean voice over radio doesn't sound authentic. There is no sound effect for the voice that comes out of radios (low fidelity ?). It just sounds too clear sometimes, like the person I'm talking to is standing next to me.

    First, let's just list a few things that makes radios a bad experience in DayZ: 1. The static noise is VERY annoying and constant and very not realistic (no Squelch and adjustments). 2. Can't recharge them. Small batteries drain too fast (as you mentioned), and since 1.06 they drain even faster. 3. You can't control the radio while driving or climbing. 4. Field Transceivers de-spawn (no persistence) when you leave them on the ground. 5. The voice quality should be lowered. Just for fun - My friends and I like to take a car, one of us puts some music on (phone + mic), he also carries a field transceiver in his backpack and we turn our radios on. This way we can hear music while driving around and look for settlements. We have a public server with some regular players which most of them are friendly. We try to encourage them to obtain a Field Transceiver and store it in their bases, in case somebody needs anything. We set-up a main base in a pretty exposed location, brought Field Transceivers, radios and what not, waited for contact. For months, the radio was silent. So we decided to occupy Altar's Broadcast Station as well. We fenced it, set-up generators, projectors on the roof and inside the building. Put a barrel with small radios so people will be able to take them and use them. At nights (once or twice a day), on of us logs in just to turn up the lights, leaves them lit until morning and logs out. Since we realized that the radio inside the station was bugged, we used Field Transceivers instead, just to broadcast some music to our community, in hope someone is listening. And yet - the radio is still silent. When we asked players about the radio - they say they can hear it sometime, but it takes too much to maintain it. You either need many batteries or a complete base with renewable energy. So radios are a must for the DayZ experience, but they are almost useless in the current version. * Note: The bug in the broadcast station was fixed since 1.06. I want to be able to record on a blank cassette and play it on loop at the broadcast station. Actually, I would like 7 slots for cassettes in the broadcast station, one for each channel.

    Yes. Maybe burlap sacks are more ideal for this, but definitely yes.

    Base random destroy

    Fences, gates and towers will de-spawn after 45 days. The only way to avoid this is to interact with them, which means placing any building material inside, and take it out. We keep at least 1 nail in each base and do this "maintenance" routine every month. Sadly, It works 🙂

    I can fill a generator with fuel with two and a half jericans, when the marker shows its full after one jerican. What is the bug ? Is the marker broken, or does the generator take up too much fuel ?

    Happened to me too. I entered my base with a car, once passed through the gate I started to get hit by the barbed wire until I died. Couldn't even exit the vehicle while I got hit. After respawn, I came back to my base and unmounted the barbed wire from the fence. Then, I mounted it back on a watchtower, I hit it once, and kept receiving damage until death, again. This happened on 1.05, by the way.

    The inventory worked fine in 1.05, and it used simple placeholders, they were just invisible. I usually have an empty backpack and a full vest and pants, all the items always went back to their last known location in the inventory. And this new placeholder is telling me what I already know, it just added unnecessary bugs. We have much more pressing issues here, like desync and lag problems and missing content(!).

    Stable Update 1.06

    Played last night on our public server (Chernarus) 1. Cars can injure the player when standing too close too them, especially when the engine is running. One of us almost died to this bug because he got stuck on the door somehow while exiting, luckily he logged out quickly before he died. 2. The Gunter can barely accelerate uphill when starting to drive on dirt / anything but asphalt. 3. The ADA has a bug / visual glitch in its grill, there is a timing belt popping out of it. (I'm pretty sure I saw this bug on 0.63 last year). 4. We had many inventory problems last night especially with cars and barrels, had to relog many times to fix those problem. Specific slots did not syncronize, showed empty while they were not. 5. The radio in Altar Broadcast Station is now working - Thank you ! 6. The 9×19 bullets are too weak now, had to shoot each zombie twice in the head to kill it. 7. Dropped a rifle on the stairs of a watchtower, could not pick it up until relog. 8. Wolves attacked me while sitting in car with doors - and I got injured ( + fast rate of blood loss) 9. Cannot place the M4 polymer handgrip in the inventory of any car. Maybe its bugged, maybe it's related to problem #4 above. 10. Tried to fix a "damaged" Saiga (Vaiga) with a weapon cleaning kit which was 3/4 full, the kit disappeared and the weapon remained "damaged". Only duct tape could repair it. 11. Small batteries gets empty too quickly now. This is a big problem for us, since we avoid 3rd party chats and channels, we use only voice and radios. Also, the batteries cannot be charged so communication is more difficult now since we need to waste much time to find new ones. 12. The rain looks amazing now. 13. No trucks, no music, no books - no fun.

    Reduce food consumption rate when stomach is full

    I'm talking about the speed of the action itself, not the overflow indicator.
  18. Eating should be slower when the character's stomach is full. The current rate make sense only when the character is hungry, but as the stomach gets full, the consumption rate should be slower, gradually, including slower animations. If the stomach is full, eating should be very slow, as if the character is forcing itself to eat. This can help in indicating to the player that the stomach is getting full, also, it can slow down players when they try to "force" feed other players, since it will take a long time.

    Map: - I'd love to find more ruins in the south, especially for camping. - There is way too much loot in the ruined houses / towns. - I love the idea of the wrecked cars and how they spawn now - big improvement. - Not enough road blocks and obstacles. - Heavy fog in the forests will be a welcome addition Issues: - Seed packs cannot be opened - Small stones should be increased, and should be easier to find. - You can't dig up worms when your character has a beard. You need to shave it first. Overall: Livonia is exciting because it's fresh and it offers new area to survive. The weather adds a lot to the scene and fighting the cold and finding shelters makes the gameplay much more interesting. Leather tanning will be a big addition for this kind of map. Was very fun to play, really good job !

    You can find them along the trails. Sometimes you'll find only one, sometimes more. Just keep an eye on the ground when hiking.

    This map is really nice. Too bad we can't craft any water containers, and can't boil water. I'm depending too much on alcohol, it's becoming an issue :)

    As long animals and zombies can walk through fences and towers, base building is pretty pointless. If Livonia's southern part is supposed to be "without any shelter", how one is supposed to survive there?

    1.06 Suggestions | 34 QoL Improvements

    I think that the current indicators are just fine, it's just that you cannot find any medical information in-game about diseases and their treatments, so you just end up guessing / trying / go to a wiki. I would prefer to be able to find a medical book on every hospital / infirmary with information of diseases and their symptoms so I'd know what and how to cure. Nice work, @Asmondian !
