As long animals and zombies can walk through fences and towers, base building is pretty pointless. If Livonia's southern part is supposed to be "without any shelter", how one is supposed to survive there?

This spambot is doing a great job

I think that the current indicators are just fine, it's just that you cannot find any medical information in-game about diseases and their treatments, so you just end up guessing / trying / go to a wiki. I would prefer to be able to find a medical book on every hospital / infirmary with information of diseases and their symptoms so I'd know what and how to cure. Nice work, @Asmondian !

Vehicles should recharge their battery when the engine is turned on and running. That's all.
-
They are doing it wrong. They should have invested their time on re-inventing the concept of a DayZ "realm" which should have been controlled by a set of servers, part dedicated to control the world's settings, and the other part dedicated to host different maps, or in other words - different parts of the world. I don't understand how they expect a single server to handle fire fights, speeding cars, massive hoarding, free roaming NPC's and controlled weather. And lets not forget the high pingers, connection packet-losses, etc - all in the same time, every second. It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it!
-
I share your enthusiasm and I like the idea, but since nobody really knows what's planned for the near future, even not for the next day in DayZ, I think it's pointless to discus anything about features in DayZ. Beans for the nice idea.

Find alcohol or disinfectant spray and use them to disinfect your bottle or canteen. Eat only cooked food, it will save you the use of vitamins.

Is it bugged or just incomplete ? I can't see a battery slot when I open the inventory GUI next to to the broadcast system. I managed to turn it on only once by attaching a car battery directly (not from the inventory GUI) and broadcast to a friend nearby. After an hour we came back and it was turned off. The battery was still full and we turned it off before leaving. We tried to attach another battery (truck), but now we can't turn on the broadcast system anymore. Is it a known issue?

Spam or not, this thread actually worth reading. The medical system was so complex back then (4 years ago)... Good stuff.

LOL BFV DID have a very bad year with MAJOR issues that lasted for such a long time, they lost a very big portion of their community. And Firestorm was a poor decision that cost DICE heavily, because it wasn't so popular, it just was a test to see if BF players likes the battle royal mode, which most of them didn't. That's why it was free. BTW - DayZ also released "Survivor GameZ" (for PC) which is also a free battle-royal mode. Dean Hall is a very ambitious man, and we thank him for this, but bringing him back will not magically complete the work of a full team of developers. Try to be patient about the development of this game, find your Zen.

I would like to have the ability to store firewood in a proper stack with persistency. For example: 1. Pile 6 items of firewood in your hands (which can't be done in the current version, 1.05) 2. When aiming at the floor, a new interaction should appear - "Create a Firewood Pile". 3. This will place the firewood in a pile, and it should represent the quantity visually. (Similar to the piles of planks that are located at the lumber yards, only smaller) The reason I'm suggesting this is because everytime we build a base, we end up with a big amount of firewood. Also, this could be a nice visual and practical addition to bases and camps. Storing the firewood is a waste of space, burning them all night long is a hassle, and leaving then on the ground is a waste of materials.

Make Dayz Great Again! PLEASE! (English translated at the end)
Tarkules replied to ZinMas 101's topic in General Discussion
DayZ Underground and DDU are great servers. Actually I had a blast on DUG lately, but I agree with the OP: DayZ vanilla should be much more challenging, and less depending on mods. Mods should be a way for the community to add/theme/diversify the gameplay, not complete the missing functions. Unfortunately, this is how Modding works in DayZ nowadays; just to fill the void. -

I want to play THIS game. Food cans, like many other items in the game, seems to me like "placeholders" or temporary source until they implement new sources of food, like fishery, at least. Maybe after 1.06 update we will find less beans and more books on the shelves, it makes a good fire source in a rainy night if you're stuck without an axe. -
After watching the trailer carefully about 10 times, I can only assume that 1.06 update is going to be the coolest update so far. I hope I'm not wrong.
-
Question - I checked the wiki and in says: "Dried -- Cook in a pot that is otherwise empty: no water, no lard while keeping items to be cooked under 100 degrees." Do you use a stone oven to dry meat ?
-
Because: 1. Storage units are rare to find (tents and chests) and vehicles are hard to assemble and maintain (vehicles). 2. In reality, you will never store firewood in your pockets, you cars, tents and or any special containers. You just pile them up. 3. Firewood takes up a lot of space in storage.

In watchtowers, the hole in the roofs of 1st & 2nd floors should only exist after building the stairs. Right now it's a useless hole in the floor and a little bit annoying when you build a set of towers side-by-side or in any complex structure.
-
Yes Yes Try to place the towers on an obstacle-free area. I tried to build a watchtower next to a cabin and could not finish the 2nd floor because of the edge of the roof collided with it. Also, there are servers with mods that allows you to place whatever wherever, you can try them out.

Dear Dev-Team, can we get some ANSWERS regarding the FUTURE of our beloved GAME?
Tarkules replied to 0.64 Freerider's topic in General Discussion
I don't really care about that... I just want some news, a status report or any official road-map / set of goals - anything. When I bought the game a few years ago - I knew what to expect and I waited patiently. Now I am being asked to wait a little more, while the developer decides not to reveal it's road map anymore. Excuse me, but WTF? Where is the transparency? It's not about the money and not about personal feelings or opinions regards the industry or the developers. It's about selling a vision to your customers, sharing it with them, listening to them and growing with them. That what makes a thriving gaming community. -

We need a power plant that can be repaired and an elecreicity grid so we will be able to light up a village or town. That's what I would do if the world ever comes to it's end. So I just want to know if this kind of survival is going to be implemented until next year or should I invest my time in something else? -
You know youve played too much Dayz when.....

When you drive your car in the city and suddenly you pull-aside just because you saw a barrel. True story. -
Maybe they pissed off everybody, and almost got traumatized by the amount of hate this forum can generate after each update. I think it's for the best, since they handled the PR very badly at least since August 2018. And using Twitter to make official announcement is un-professional. How about using a web notification service in the forum? it's free to use and to implement nowadays.

I think what he meant was: In DayZ: When you're approaching a curve at a high speed, your vehicle will not turn, although you are trying to steer. Even if you'll lose speed (by braking a little and/or shift to a lower gear), your vehicle will not gain it's traction back and launch you out of the curve. The only way to avoid this situation currently is to: 1. Slow down a bit before the curve 2. Shift to a lower gear 3. Hit the gas, a split second after entering the curve (exactly at the point where you feel the wheels were supposed to grip the road). Tested and Verified with the Gunter (Exp. 1.03)

What I meant was that you should work for your food, store it, trade it and appreciate it, instead of finding it everywhere just to maintain your food meter.
