Frankie is one of my favorites for the mod, because his commentary and the way him, Sada and JackFrags role play truly shows the beauty of this game. Unfortunately he has been away for a year. One of my favorite standalone youtubers, who also coincidentaly just vanished last year, was the first youtube I watched when dayZ was announced for console. His standalone series was beautiful and I aspire to create my gameplay and travels as immersive as his. He is Mr. Black0ut. Plus I love love his intro... "Mr. Black0ut here, how ya doing how ya been" Fantastic standalone YouTube Black0ut is. Not sure who the current folks are, but I often rewatch Mr Black0ut just cuz his content is top notch

I generally jump between a few servers, but what I've started doing is favoriting servers in practice for the coming months when based and vehicles come on. I've kind of found 2 RU and 2 US servers I like, so I favorite them and play them exclusively. I used to pick a random server and go, but after I dropped gear for a friend, we both got red server message and I couldn't remember the server number, I stopped doing this and started favoriting or writing down my 4 servers

I think it's just the mentality of the players. Like I totally agree on the 2 or 3 people squads wearing qll same gear. Without a mask that screams KOS bandit. Personally at that point I'd have 1 person as overwatch. 1 flank, 1 push. But hey whatever. Yesterday I got shot by a guy who missed like 10 shots. He tagged me once, but his aim was buns. He easily could have waited until we stopped again or gone for a headshot but he pushed us, so I camped a Bush and tagged him 2x, and guess what, he combat logged. It's funny how playing over aggressive is so predictable. I too dont like the identical military tribes but they lack basic instinct. So if you can get them to a choke point it's easy defense. The tactical squads which you dont see alot of, those are of course the real worry. My thought is, if your playing aggressively, at least have the kahones to stick through the fight. Win or lose. If you're playing aggressively, dont waste all our time and combat log.

You need a PU scope. Normally found in hunting cabins. The reason it says it is calibrated for 7.62x54 is for the SVD which uses that ammo.
-
This is why I never wear those masks. I wanna have a system I recognize, not others. Bandit masks us too much a giveaway about your role

Personally I use clothes to show my play style on that character. Black Jacket and Pants with Black Beret for me is hero Gorka Military with boonie is Bandit TTsKo Military with boonie is Sniper and Counter Sniper Blue Camo is Mercenary White Hunting Jacket and Pants is for for Hero Hunter. Camo Hunting Jacket and Pants is for Bandit Hunter. Black Fire Fighter is for friendly. Red rain coat with black pants and red boonie hat is for KOS bandit I dont normally where helmets but my preference is the old school knight helm or a boonie hat.

I'd imagine at the moment it gives you decent health regeneration. It's supposed to fix broken bones whenever that comes into the game. Like if someone shoots you in the legs and breaks your legs, you gonna use morphine to heal it then bandage back up.

I have yet to see a server reset message all week. And today alone I got the red server message, myself and my friend right night to me, 3x in 3 different servers. 1 after 30 min in server. 1 after 5 min in server. And the other an hour into server. I have been kicked multiple times throughout the week with the only message on screen in lobby saying "player kicked" which is due to reset.

Or... or... you could try manually ejecting the mag from your inventory screen the combining a new mag also in the inventory screen. Also, the game is in GAME PREVIEW Which means that you knew what you were buying, bugs and all, when you purchased it. If you would like more info on what exactly a game preview is. You can visit this URL: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-game-preview-faq What is Xbox Game Preview? Xbox Game Preview is a way for our fans to preview and purchase work-in-progress digital titles, participate in the development process and help developers make Xbox One games the best they can be. How does Xbox Game Preview work? Xbox Game Preview games can be purchased and played like regular titles. Because the games are still in development, they might be missing content, contain bugs, or need extra balancing work that will come later via updates. Similarly, select Xbox One features like Share may also be unavailable until the final game is released. Once the game is purchased, you are entitled to every update as the game moves to its final commercial release as well as the final version of the game when it is finished.

No way to accurately determine this without a rangefinder. Nice shot though. Mines about 400m with a suppressed AKM and PSO-1

Thank you for posting info. Just to add an official thread and quote for reference: These include server based loot storage and tents. Are there cars, helicopters, and base-building on Xbox? No, not right now, but before leaving Game Preview, we'd like to have both on Xbox One. Especially cars play an important role in the DayZ gameplay!

Once the game is stable, the devs plan to increase the restart time. Getting database locked because you were kicked from a server 3 times 5 minutes into joining it sucks, but it happens.
-
You are not tethered. There should be no reason to lock into perspective. You should be free to switch at any time. I personally play FPP as well. Means no wall peaking. Hardcore awareness. Stuff like that. No need to segregate servers when you can switch on the fly.

Unfortunately in @Baty Alquawen pinned thread called FAQ in General Discussion on the forums, she has stated that Reainimation will not be coming to game. Cool concept I agree but not where the devs are looking
-
This used to be in the mod but it was not public. Only you ever saw your stats. Your characters outfit would change, so others would easily know if you were hero or bandit.

Well, I guess let me start out with saying I dont want pity, just sharing my experiences and take it as a lesson. So I have been playing DayZ with my best friend, having a blast. We met someone while broadcasting who was genuinely cool (sure you see where this is going). We played with him for about a week, looting up NWA, Stary, going out of our way to group up as a squad, the 3 of us. He was a pretty stand up guy. Defended us in gunfights, we shot people together. He grabs an svd, and we go sniping. Me with a mosin. Get rushed by 4 bandits, killed. Try to get gear again, killed because the bandits were looting up again after dying, all that. So the other day we are relooting. My best friend and I find our dream loadouts. I had a Mosin, no scope, USG45 with 6 mags, plenty of ammo, 10 cans of bacon, can openers, my all black outfit, and 6 bandages. My friend with a scoped and suppressed AK, ammo, food, water, all that. So a very kind user on here, meets up with me to drop me the scope for my mosin, well he also drops the 1 gun I've been looking for since launch, the SVD. I've been to 7 crash sites, 6 of them were just smoke and no heli. So I was really excited. Got my scope and 4 mags fully loaded, with 5 box of 7.62x54 ammo. Well I link up with this dude (the "genuine") as we usually do after my best friend goes to bed. We loot and all that like normal, and I'm bringing him over to my friend so we can squad up tomorrow. Well, it turns out, as we were walking, and I always found it weird why I had to lead, he never was in front, I ignored it. Well, basically I should have never become relaxed. 2 weeks looking for my dream loadout, and 3 hours after having it, killed, with 3 akm rounds by my supposed "friend". I die and he doesnt answer for a few min. So I leave the party, frustrated. He invites me back and says, dude I saved your SVD, the mags and your water. So pissed off. I just say, you know what, keep it. You've earned it bandit, and lost a traveling partner. Moral of the story: guess you really cannot trust anyone that you meet. Only the people who you knew prior to DayZ. Anyway, it sucks, I've calmed down. Probably wont have that loadout for a while, but yes. I'm trying to fight the urge to go full bandit. This kind of stuff pisses me off. I know it's a game and all, but man, when you die like this, it just tears away at you. Anyway, I learned my lesson. Back to being a lone wolf I suppose. Take it as a lesson new players, dont be overly trusting, because as I've just seen, the best bandits will play your friend, and rob you when you least expect it. On the flip side, he said before I left that hes incredibly sorry and will return gear, and he thought he had an unloaded mp5 in his hands, but its whatever. Bless the person who gave me the SVD, but I do believe in karma and such. And that may have been a bad SVD. Anyway, it was fun to fire off the 1 shot that i did and blow my ears out, but hey, we move on. Anyway, hope you guys learned something and yea, day or 2 off and I'll be back to looting and such. Good luck

The purpose of this is not to generate more KOS, it doesnt have to be player kills that is simply my preference. If you are interested in what this system looks like, a simple version can be seen in the Steam Game "Green Hell" where if you die, at the screen of death it shows the following stats: Times player because sick Days survived Distance travelled And I believe something along the lines of Times gone insane. This is the nature of the game and I suggest checking it out. But simple stuff. Currently there is no fatal sickness, and days survived would have to be game time not real time, therefore, for DayZ, we are left with what is in the game. Distance, player kills, time spent alive. These are not concrete features nor are they even in the minds of the devs, however this is simply a discussion on some sort of tracking. It would be nice to have a list of feats accomplished at the end of life.

This is an idea I have thought of as well, which stems from the Arma 3 Exile Moda, which is, same player counts, same zombies but if you stay in a town long enough and make enough racket, a horde of like 200 zombies floods you. Agro 1, you attract the whole horde. But if you're looking for a more PvE EST, then maybe when private servers come, you can drop the player count down to 4, and you and 3 friends fight 20x zombie spawns. So say an average town has 10 zombies you'll get 200 per town. I think either would be great.
-
I too would like this. There used to be a karma type system, where helping gave you a hero spawn outfit, and killing gave a bandit outfit. Atleast in the mods idk about standalone. There is a soft "leveling" system that grant passive bonuses. The more you work that skill tree the more rewards. So I'd imagine something like... Mule -> overburden alot and as you build you become less encumbered with heavy gear Melee -> melee weapons gain more damage Survivor -> go longer without eating or drinking Iron lungs -> holding breath(if introduced) would grant longer stability or less sway over time Stuff like this. Active abilities like find more loot, or take less damage, and such will not be a part of this system from what I understand I would however like to see on the death screen these types of things: Bullets fired Players killed Distance travelled
-
Just heli crash sites and bandits. Dont take my word for it, I've just had a really bad experience around betrayal with the SVD, soooooo I stay away from it. Since the SVD is the power weapon right now, it brings with it a weird vibe. Well in my mind atleast

Saw your post. and I see what you're saying. I guess I'm so used to it as is I dont think it to be a problem. It's the wandering after I get gear. My first character I only saw like 5 people in a week on 45+ pop servers. I think it's a double edged sword though. Make it too fast, people get bored. Make it too slow and people drop off except the hardcore, but still drastically cuts the player base. Make it as is and gradually throw in challenges.. like infections and diseases that are fatal, it balances out. It's hard to judge though... they got the formula down, but to people that have been grinding, myself included, they are starting to get bored. Personally I'm in like 60 pops now, which I normally avoid, but I havent seen anyone in a week and I'm just bored. No fights no travel partners. Nothing. And I'm at hotzones like NWA. Maybe a possibility is make guns more scarce, but then server hopping. So until bases get in the game that are 1 server dependent... that wont fix anything. Hopefully, based will make it more hardcore. Like you're locked into a server until you get wiped and die. Atleast in principal that's what it should do. Then you see a new breed of survival. Scarce food, no loot, etc.
-
I don't mind where it is now, but I would like to move while it is open. My issue with it is you freeze character, and it does bug out for a bit if you try and select too quickly. Maybe reverse the emote wheel and the hot wheel. Because left dpad feels more natural and easy to reach. But hey. No biggy

Takes a decent player days or weeks to get full kit? After character reset, it took me 2 servers, 4 bases, and 6 towns to get m4 with acog, 3 mags, akm suppressed with scope, 2 mags, 10 cans of foot, 2 bottles of water, 2 can openers, a lock pick and 2 bandages. This took 2.5 hours. I live streamed it so I know how many minutes it took real time. I wouldnt call myself seasoned, but I am experienced with my loot run and how to navigate. If it took days, there would be so little PVP. It's the perfect balance as is. If you would like it to take days or weeks, adjust your play style. My first kit yea took days, but after I learned the best way for me to loot, I can get it done quick

I've seen wolves 2 times on xbox. This was weeks ago but still. I made a fire and a pack of 10 flocked to me. Then I was looting tents, got kicked, rejoined and there is like 10 plus a full 10 zombies. They all started fighting each other but those wolf buggers almost got me.

PS scope points to ground when prone
Skruffy replied to MasterSchlager's question in Troubleshooting
It's something you need to adjust and notice yourself. But if you stand up and hold, LT you'll notice your gun is at a weird angle. Look up and look down with LT, not through a scope and it will fix it. It is however a known bug
