This was addressed I believe. I encountered a gun jam earlier where I couldn't load a mag, so I left and rejoined, turned out I duped a mag. The fix is to put the gun on the ground. Hover over the mag in the gun, and tap A to put it in your hands. Put mag in inventory, put gun in hands. Then do the following. 1. Load mag as normal and test a shot or 2. 2. Put the gun in inventory or drop on ground, manually load the mag with bullets, put mag in inventory or floor, put gun in hands, then press b om the mag and combine, or reload. Dont tap Y to reload at all if you can avoid it. I noticed the only time it really worked properly is when I had 5+ fully loaded mags in my inventory for that gun. If I had 1 mag, it would often jam the gun. And I know fruit's frustrating, firing blanks or people hear gunshots that you yourself are firing but cannot hear. Itll give away your position for sure.

Well, by definition, combat logging came from the older days where people would get knocked unconscious and alt+f4 or quit their game. Anyway. This was addressed with a 15 second delay before character actually leaves server. So if they think they have lost you, but you can kill them before they desync, bam. There ya go. If you are referring to the spawning in, so say you are looting a barracks, and someone logs in on front of your they are blind for about 2 seconds. You can kill. But if they spawn at the end rooms and you're about to open the door. Sure it would be nice, but odds are if they spawn in that kind of area they expect someone to wall in, so their gun is already up and aiming at the door. I do this naturally, but if you dont, you should get in the habit of going first person to open a door, tap x, then as the character arm reaches for the door, hold LT and side step in a direction. You can do this in third person but yea. My buddy watched me lots and he always entered after me. Well he watched my gun go up at every door, even if we were low/high pop, low/high traffic zones, whatever. If we opened a door, my gun was up. He started doing it and it saved him a few times, so now it is habit. My other friend, let's me open the door, my gun raises them somehow jumps in front of me. Idk if she does it purposely or not, but my gun is at her back and it kind of drives me mad. So the point of this long post is, when you open a door, hold LT and expect, no matter what server you are in, to meet someone with a gun raised. There used to be some sort of ping or gunshot or something when you spawned, not sure if that was a rumor or it was taken out. Plus, say someone is spawning in on tents or barracks and not you know, in the woods next to said area... you dont feel as bad shooting them as they spawn.

I would like to see the arma 3 exile horde implemented in dayZ. Basically its hundreds of zombies wandering from town to town and if you agro one the whole horde attacks you. I think it would mix things up a lot and it would be a great addition. Probably when the game is in a bit more stable place. Most I've seen in one place is I think 10ish. I'd like to see 200. I think that would make for looting very risky, as say you finally find that SVD or whatever, and all of a sudden a 200 Zed horde shows up. And you either gotta grab it and risk death or head out and wait for the horde to pass

Next time I find a UMP or MP5 I'll put a sight on it and test, unless someone else has one and can test

I do totally agree with you. Personally I'd be the person using a working car as a trap or something. But it would be incredibly useful for picking up a friend that just got killed and getting them up to the forests to get some more loot
-
Also, my buddy and I found a morphine auto injector, so be on the lookout for those and the broken bones feature coming soon
-
This is not necessarily true before the patch. I used a variety of weapons. The 45 pistol. IJ70. UMP. MP5. AKM. M4. All of them had perfect hit registration at the chest on zombies. Headshots not so much. But I know this issue did affect some people

Vehicles are supposed to be part of the game, but will require repairs, gas, and battery to operate. And they will be as loud as a continuous SVD shot. People will hear you if you are not careful, so it should make for some interesting fights. Personally I think it will be best utilized when base building is in the game, as you could potentially lock the car in a storage box, like the ones that you open the doors for and are normally 3 or more lumped together. Or when you have you mini base and you put it in a tree or something, and then pick up your friend and get them some gear. It will work, and I dont even think the helicopters are weaponized, but all of these things believe it or not will help server jumping. Say you get a car and a base set up on server 4606. Well. Until it gets raided hopefully... you are going to stay there, as the base is only on 4606, not on any other server. Remember, if it is on PC roadmap, xbox is right behind it after it gets stress tested, and the updates get approved. Then there is the approval process xbox needs, but since they are testing on pc, then moving to xbox, they will be sound updates.

SVD with PSO-1 But the Mosin with a PSU works. It didnt used to

The days Roadmap/Patch Notes may be able to help. https://dayz.com/blog/status-report-11-september-2018

Probably hit with a silenced AKM. Within 100-150m it's a 1 shot to the chest. You probably got tagged and he was close range.
-
It is already in the game I believe. The reasons you do not see it is because the servers reset so frequently, so they never have a chance to make it to night time

Hello, This is mainly a question for veteran PC players that are playing the Xbox port. From what I understand, there used to be objectives which would give you spawning clothes. So massive amounts of kills gets you bandit, doing hero actions gets you here gear, and so on. Based on what is currently in the game right now, are there known clothes that signify roles? Example: People are associating the masks, bloody, usa, etc, aka the payday masks, as a bandit. This is a known item that can easily recognize. Bandits and heroes alike are all seeking military gear. So it becomes harder and harder to see what role a player is. I'm not looking for an answer like "practice will show you" I'm wondering if in the pc community with the current patches, there is a set gear set that truly signifies a hero. Or truly signifies a hunter, or bandit, or etc. We can all tell a bambi/fresh spawn based on civilian clothes, but how can we differentiate full kits? Thanks

If you have a shovel you can bury your backpack i believe

I am not seeing the normal message, "character locked in database" now I am seeing "database connection timeout" Is the database maintenance still ongoing?
-
Awesome thanks. Oh man I cannot wait for deadly sickness :)
-
And what medications are in the game to cure these sickness? If you become sick at this point by any of the illness, is it just a slow death? Can it be fixed?
-
OP posted 6 hours ago. 6 hours ago, @DayZ on twitter posts this: XBOX PLAYERS: Xbox servers are going offline for a database update. We expect the servers to be back within the next few hours. 5 hours ago, @DayZ on twitter posts this: Xbox servers are coming back online. :)

I'm not sure this is the type of mission OP is talking about. Dont get me wrong. I agree. You make a story, mission for yourself in this game, but truth be told, I would really like to see a server message that states: "Bandits have invaded Berizino and have occupied a weapons cache, clear out the bandits for a reward" or "A sniper cache has been located in NW Airfield" or "Supply Drop incoming at Electro" Something every player can see, and if the reward is big enough, it turns into a full server shootout, where only the smartest get the loot. Say for example a supply drop with meds, guns, scopes, ammo drops. Tons of players would flock to it. Say on a 60 player server, 20-30 go for it. Huge parties engage in a gunfight. 10 are knockout in seconds. 10 more get shot while bandaging or trying to get loot, a few snipers watching it remain. Tactically they go for it. 1 person goes for the cache and takes it as a squad comes in. The solo hears a bullet fly by their head, they run and evac, they get that SVD, with mags and a scope, with precious brain infection meds that they need because they ran out of food and had to eat the flesh of one of the dead bodies from the fight. That is the type of immersion OP is looking for, I believe.

Yea it happened to me and my girl a few days ago by accident. I dropped her my suppressed IJ-70, and we lagged out, all of a sudden she has one and I have one. Not sure how it happened but it did. I think at this point duping is kind of an accidental thing, and there is no solid way to exploit it, and I think when it becomes severely exploitable, like people are intentionally duping M4s, AKs and SVDs, while duping protector cases with 5+ mags, that is when it will become addressed. Not sure if xbox has battleeye, but it would need to be able to differentiate accidental vs exploited duping. That's why if I do dupe a gun when I meant to give it to a friend, I just drop it anyway, I dont need it. Hence why I gave it up. But I do agree, I hope it gets fixed. I think the main issue is when you drop a gun, and they pick it up, if you get a red server error message within 5 seconds of dropping it, it will dupe. The odds of that are slim, because simply backing out wont do it. The dupe requires your physical player to revert to a point where you had the gun, and the other player has enough time for the server to save the inventory. Hence why I believe it is accidental and not exploitable at the moment. Yes people will always find a way to cheat, but that just drastically decreases the playability for themselves. Like it's so more rewarding to search for hours, finally finding that suppressor or the ammo you need, it gives you purpose. If you're just duping, its like why even bother. Are you even having fun at that point? I also believe a bit in in-game karma, like if you did exploit a dupe, you wouldnt be able to find a player to shoot for 24 hours play time, you're just wandering. Or when you actually work and find the items you need, you get picked off by a sniper in the hills, losing it all anyway. :)

Supposedly part of the experimental branch includes sickness, and you might have been on an experimental branch. I was unaware you had to cook canned foods but now you may have to. Generally speaking if I tip into yellow I eat a can of food, and I'm fine. I have had time where I've over ate, and I start throwing up but that's after like 3 cans. I wouldnt know how to combine the canned foods with a campfire anyway, would it require a stick and canned food? Can you place the can on the fire?

Couldn't reload weapon.... 1. Hits quit game, while attacked by wolves, dies. Character needs 15 seconds to leave server. (Happened to my girl, literally right after she got a full kit). She rage quit and spawned in next server, gone. Bam. New spawn. 2. Doesnt have spare mags 3. Doesnt have ammo in spare mags. 4. It happens. It's a survival game. That's part of the joy. Yea it sucks, but atleast you know a bandit didnt get it. If you're really that quick to push away the game, that's a shame. I'm estimating somewhere around 500-1000 hours before I go. And even then I'll play for a bit. Considering as how fundamentally, dayZ is one of the best games on the xbox market, I'm gonna see it through until launch. Then take a break. My first death was by starvation after I got fully geared with weapons and such. Died before I could leave camp. Did I fret, no. Now I always have 5 cans of food and 3 bottles of water minimum. Been so geared I'm bored. 12 days surviving on 2 different characters. I play 1 character coop with my girl, the next is solo. Each plays about 2-3 hours a night, get into a fight every other night. Still. 2 characters 12 days running. Death by zombies, starvation, wolves, etc. They happen.

So this has happened to me multiple times. Regardless of server. I believe the most recent one was US 3664710 or something like that. I have had a full inventory Since launch. The character I am playing on has yet to die. Since the update my inventory is looking like this: M4 with 5 mags in vest, AKM with 3 mags in pants. AKM stored in vest, some free space in my shirt. Just an ammo box for 5.56 and a compass, backpack contains 3 water bottles, 20 cans of bacon, and some bandages. Now, cut that inventory in half Pre Patch, and I still have this problem. When I get a kill, normally I dont loot because of the crash and odds are I dont need the gear. This time it was different. I looted the player because they had an SVD, so I open the inventory, it opens fine, it works, but I cant see the SVD, so I scroll to the bottom and the game crashes and lost the loot. This normally does not happen in the first few hours due to the small inventory of players, but now, it is every person I loot, I crash. I have tried taking it slow and slowly navigating the loot, but every time, when I reach the bottom, the game crashes. I am playing on the Xbox One X, and I was under the impression it had the power to manage this. Please address. Thank you.

Is the free space inventory fix applied to current characters or new spawning characters after patch?
