Let's here it for Don Sibley ladies and gentlemen!!! But how shameful is it for Bohemia that this guy had to go out and hire a programmer to build an app to sort through the 1000's of lines of text in the log files so he can better administrate his server? Bohemia could have made an app in a single afternoon and made it available to server owners, but in typical BI fashion they sell you an unfinished product and then remain silent on the issue. Take note Bohemia, you should do something to compensate Mr. Sibley for his continued hard work and dedication to the game many of us still love in spite of your continued gaffes.

I have the feeling that they can't fix it. So they simply ignore the problems and keep dropping content no one asked for. It's the only way they can keep people playing and renting servers.

1. Desync issues. 2. Vehicle despawning and driving physics. 3. Inventory management. 4. Better admin controls and whitelisting. Address these issues and stop wasting our time.

As he highlights in the video the logs can be 1000s of lines long... Yeah I'm sure reading a log for a 10-20 person server is not an issue. But on a big server with greenzones and differing rules it can become quite the task. Especially for people with real world responsibilities. It must be lonely up there for you.

When I teleported to the guardrail my friend said its like there's another person inside of you... 🤔 dafuq? Then we continue on and crash into something invisible in the middle of the road... car is ruined, FML. Video ends. At this point he says there is another player in the road where we just passed. I attempted to switch to my gun, but when I opened the hot wheel my game crashed. No biggie, I'll just load back in. Come back and I'm a fresh spawn. I got Dayz'd like never before. As you can see another player was indeed occupying the same space as me. What happens with the car from his viewpoint is clearly different from mine. Now after the video, my friend got into a gunfight with the other player and killed him. We figured out who the other player was from our discord and he told us he was driving in his Gunter near Vybor when his game crashed. He logged back in and was teleported to our location near Troitskoe military base, without his car and the gunfight ensued. After speaking with the server owner he told me the logs showed me being killed (shot) by the other player. So somehow the server appears to have merged another players location with mine and the other player was controlling my vehicle causing the vehicle to crash. Bohemia, you got some splainin to do... Edit: I meant to post this in the other section...

That doesn't stop it either. You're forced to rely on an honor system amongst one of the most toxic playerbases in gaming history. They sold us private servers with absolutely no way to police them. It's becoming increasingly disheartening and obvious that they either can't or won't fix this game.

Seriously, they gave us private servers which is cool but the administrative side is sorely lacking. The log files are so dense and hard to read its almost insulting that this is what we have to deal with. I personally know someone who had to hire a programmer that built an app for him to export the log file into just to make it easier to read. There is no whitelisting, no way to enforce safe zones, basically no way to enforce any rules. People wanted private servers in order to have an experience other than what is available on public servers. With no way to properly control ones own server wtf is point in having one? Gaffe after gaffe with this dev team, I wish they would have experimental or test servers for the playerbase so we could help them eliminate alot of these problems before they make it into full release. But that would make sense. Its painful to watch so many squandered opportunities, sooner or later they will alienate every portion of their playerbase.

The rollout of these private servers have been... let's just say, less than ideal. With that being said, the server logs are a nice feature being able to see who killed who and where, but there is an issue here. Grenade damage does not show who caused the damage. So I imagine landmines probably dont show either. We are having a major issue with griefing on our server and the griefers have been using alt accounts. Without deeper server tools and the ability to whitelist, server owners simply cannot properly police their servers. The private server experience has become Increasingly disappointing. We need whitelisting and/or ip bans. Otherwise, what's the point?

Yeah, it's been a wild year. But as with any relationship, the crazy unpredictable ones are always the most fun. We've had our ups and downs, most memorable for me was the broken day/night where it was stuck on night... and the great rainstorm that just kept going and going and going... lol But I'm still here! Let's hope for better server controls, quality of life fixes, desync getting sorted, smoother inventory management and a brighter 2020 in Chernarus!

What he means by a random dude is someone who doesn't belong on the server. And yes, this streamer gave out the password.

Which brings up the next point... admins cannot kick individuals from their server... all that can be done is to restart the server, which affects every player on the server. Again, this just further highlights the inadequacies of the tools available to server owners. Good money is being paid to BI/Nitrado, expectations are not being met.

If you get a list of gamer tags for people that are supposed to be there, you can compare that to people in the players online list. You will notice the names that don't belong. There is no way to tell who the alt accounts belong to. With a whitelist, the admin can input the list of gamertags that do belong and the alts simply cannot gain access.

Bans, killfeed, whitelisting? Admins need more control over the servers. Point blank. People are paying good money for these servers, expectations are not being met in this area.

That's good news but also vague. Any insight as to what specifically can be done? Will the admins have a killfeed they can use to blacklist rulebreakers? Will the event log include this? Is it possible to give coordinates for each kill? We appreciate the work you guys do but please we are hungry for answers.

Yeah, but whitelisting is basically merely GT verification. This is a good thing, but I was more concerned with enforcing rules, like kos and safezone rules of engagement. Will their be any admin controls to assist with this, ie: killfeed? What exactly is included in the event log?

Yeah, but specifically what are they working on? I just find it vague, what is included in "eventlog"? Is this a killfeed? Can they monitor stashes to help enforce rules?

I'm a stat nerd and I floated a similar idea to my buddies before of having each weapon having it's own unique serial number. This # could then be looked up to see all that stats of this weapon. Number of owners, kills, rounds fired... etc... But I like the idea of being able to engrave/mark a weapon as well.

8.) Craftable signage would be awesome. If there were a way to craft a sign with planks and attach to walls or utility poles with nails.

First off, I've really been enjoying this update. With that being said, my concerns shift towards... 1) Desync? I'm not even sure if its desync that is causing this but, I'm sure everyone's noticed items being stuck in tents/barrels/seachests/inventory... etc... and not being able to move said item without logging off and back on only to have it happen again a short time later. Also seems to have an effect on not seeing items in other players hands or things they drop. 2) Please fix the inventory scrolling in barrels, tents, seachests... etc. When you have alot if different items in a container, you're only able to see the "top page" and "bottom page" and nothing in the middle. The above 2 issues makes inventory management absolutely frustrating. 3) Please do something about the scrolling speed in the private server list. 4) Double tapping X to go into throwing stance needs to be changed to something other than the interaction button. Maybe a quick tap of LT? 5) Please make holding X drop the item in your hands again. 6) It would be nice if their was a quick way to detach the glow stick off of your vest/backpack quickly to throw/drop the than going into your inventory. 7) Make 1.05 as enjoyable as 1.04 👍👍 Seriously, though nice job BI.

I have a concern with the "desync?", ie: not being able to see what a partner is holding or has dropped, not being able to remove items from containers, inventory management type stuff... a temporary solution is to log off and immediately rejoin the server. This isn't so bad on private servers because there is no queue to get back in. On public servers it's a big issue because there can be particularly long queues, especially during peak hours. Is this problem due to the switch to nitrado servers?
