    [Suggestion] Servers

I have found that trying to get into lowpop/empty servers usually results in a giant queue or not connecting. But joining in a highpop or even one that says full 60/60 almost always gets no queue and an instant connection. Even while playing going into the pause menu and looking at the "online" player list in a full server will show only a handful of players in the list. Empty and low player servers = no bueno Full and high count servers = work 90% of the time. Its almost as if everything is backwards.

    Proximity chat

No it doesnt. Its a known issue. Get out of party chat jeez. Youre a survivor on a island in the zombie apocolyspe, you dont have a stupid magic communicator device to talk to other people.

    Position in Que...

It seems trying to join lowpop/empty servers will hit you with large queues (20 players out of 60 slots but a queue of 25?) But if you join highpop/full servers you will instantly get in. Dont ask why but it seems to work out more often than not. Even on servers that are 60/60 you might get a queue of 1 or 2 but generally hitting those 'full' ones or high pop 58/60 you will jump right in. Try it out and see, it works the majority of the time for me - and even in highpop servers I rarely have ever ran into other players.

    QOL Suggestions-Inventory

Radial menu change to LB + simultaneous movement - good idea this could be a great change. Cursor implementation in menus - hard no. Cursors do not work with controllers well. The accuracy and precise quick movements that are achieved with mice and cursors do not translate to thumbs and joysticks. Once the inventory gets worked out and shows proper grid slots like on PC, the snap 'tabbing feature' will work much better. It takes a little while to learn it, but you can get pretty fast once youve got the muscle memory down to know that LB/RB move left and right, LT/RT move up and down, and holding A should properly show the "drag and drop" system that is micromanagement. They should also possibly implement a button to 'rotate' items in 90 degree increments so that we have full freedom to "play tetris" with our items in grid slots to maximize storage space, ala Escape From Tarkov. Split/stack/drop - sounds good and very similar to PUBGs way of inventory, which is a great implementation of space management. Use a tap/hold Y to determine how many of an item you want to drop, with dpad controls in increments of x1/x10

    Xbox screen adjuster

Your Sony should allow aspect ratio changing no matter what input youre on, it shouldnt matter if youre on the TV/Antenna input, Cable box Input, HDMI input, etc - all inputs allow for aspect ratio changes, on all tvs. Theres no such thing as a certain input locking an aspect ratio. Somehow I feel that since you seem to have difficulty in spelling in English - "dieing, channell, consol, knob" (possibly cause its not your native language, but thats neither here nor there) you probably also have difficulty operating your television settings as well. Make sure your ratio is set to 16:9 and not "zoom", "cinema", "overscan", "stretch", "wide", etc.

    Switching weapon fire modes

As far as we know firemode selection has not been implemented/disabled in the xbox version. Guns are a little glitchy right now especially with magazines. Be patient. Were only a couple of "DAYZ" into game preview. PUBG was an utter mess in its game preview but 10 months later its a beast and plays awesome.

    I must be missing something...

    1. Do not ever sprint unless in extreme danger 2. Crouch and rest periodically (stay still, dont move) while letting hunger/thirst be replenished. Constantly moving will always drain your food and drink stats. Resting will allow your stats to fill more instead of draining them at the same time youre refilling them

    Switching backpacks?

Its easiest to find your current backpack in the top right - hold Y to take it off and put it on the ground, then go to the new backpack and press X to equip and put it on, then go to your old backpack on the ground and just tap Y on each item still inside to put it inside your new backpack - just like real life, this will work with most switching of items. This seems to be quicker as you dont have to fiddle with "placing items in hands" and can keep weapons/food/drinks/etc ready in your hands. 1. Take off old item directly on the ground. 2. Pick up new item directly to your body. 3. Transfer contents from old item into new item.

    General Hints & Tips

To use the PSO scope (or other long range optics) OTS (Over The Shoulder) aim with LT RB to ADS (iron sights) LB to switch to Scope view. Now every time you go into ADS you will look thru the scope. To return to iron sights, you must HOLD the LB while looking thru the scope. Its kind of a pain because to go from Irons to scope you Tap, but going from scopes to irons you Hold. Hopefully in the future they just make it a toggle where tapping will switch between scope and irons back and forth.

    PVP

I had been on a character for the past few days - started off nearly dying from thirst and hunger in the beginning but got saved by a lone player traveling down the road in the opposite direction who gave me a human steak and a sprite. It got me far enough to reach an orchard, and little by little I kept piecing together a decent loadout and moving forward. I finally got to the NW Airfield after hours of traveling from the NE Corridor. I was fully kitted and hadnt seen a soul in nearly 24 hours, I had the whole base to myself. Kitted out with a silenced m4, UMP, too many mags for each, and enough tactical bacon to last years, everything was great. Compass, canteen, ALICE bag, scopes, everything. Got disconnected from servers a few times and then on the new server as I spawned in the building I was in last, I heard footsteps outside. Oh shit. 2 guys come around a corner decently kitted. We wave and Im using proxy chat to say hi, friendly, etc not gonna shoot. They dont speak and then the guy on my right raises his AKM and pop my screen goes red. "You are dead". Nearly 48 hours worth of a long tough grind and it comes to an end in the blink of an eye. Didnt even get a chance for a firefight or anything. I still have yet to kill another human player in the game - but man is the tension and adrenaline fun when you see someone else who isnt a Z. Ive met a few players who ive had good interactions with and have traveled through cities side by side. Cant wait for bicycles and vehicles to be implemented so that we dont have to succumb to the "Running Simulator 2.0" schtick.

    Compass

Its a hardcore survival simulation. The size of the map is literally the size of a real city. It takes you anywhere up to 30 minutes just to jog to a new town, just like youd have to do if you were actually out in the real world. Just wait until you find a box of bullets and wonder why you cant use it. You actually have to take the bullets out of the box, and manually load each one into a magazine. Once that mag is empty, you have to manually reload it with single bullets again before you can load it back into your gun, unless you have multiple magazines. Sometimes guns wont even have magazines in them, and youre only able to load a single bullet into the chamber and reload every time you shoot. You know what you have to do to put on a different item of clothing you find? You have to take off your old one first, drop it to the ground, and then put the new one on. Oh but wait all the items that were in your pockets of the old pants? You have to literally take them out of the old pants on the ground and move them to the new pants youre wearing. Just like real life, bud. Get busy livin, or get busy dyin.

    How do I change clothes?

Yes, this game is very "realistic/hardcore" - to put on a new different item of clothing you must first take off the current one youre wearing, then put on the new item. The quickest way ive found to do it is: Go to your inventory screen where the new item is in the "vicinity" tab on the left. Find the current item youre wearing in the top of the tab on the right, and hold Y to "drop" the item to the ground. This will also drop all the items contained inside the clothing pockets. Tab over to the left and press X to "equip" the new item, and then be sure to take all the items in your old clothing and press Y (send to inventory) on each one to send them back to your new items pockets. You also have to manually take individual bullets out of their boxes, manually load your magazines and combine them into your guns, and you can also store smaller items such as food and drinks inside other bigger items like waterproof bags or the cooking pot and then place the entire bag/pot inside your backpack to save inventory space. Red dot sights wont have a reticle if you dont add a 9v battery to them, and guns may not have a magazine with them - but you can still chamber a single bullet and fire it and manually load single rounds each time even without a magazine in the gun. This isnt PUBG, and it sure as hell aint no Battlefield - this is more along those lines of the VR gun simulators where you literally have to manipulate each function of things just like it would be in real life.

    Compass

You get your bearings from signs in the towns usually at each end - there will be white signs on each side of the road with a name in Russian (one will have a red line drawn through it indicating the end of a city limit) . Find the name on your map and youll know what city youre in, and can then determine which way you want/need to go. You can also use the blue signs at major intersections to determine location and bearing. Blue signs will show which direction nearby cities are, which direction, and how many kilometers away they are located. Using the iZurvive/DayZCentral apps really negate the need for a compass, and its sort of a form of cheating until the actual in-game map is implemented (if its not already? I havent found one). Also there is no current day/night cycle in the xbox build and the sun is always located to the South/Southeast if you face towards it - once the day/night cycle does get implemented youll also be able to find your bearings by looking at the stars in the night sky to find North either by finding the Big Dipper constellation and/or using the Moon's crescents intersecting with the horizon line. Its really not that difficult to know where youve come from, where youre at, and where you need to go next when looking at the maps, landmarks, roads and railways. Navigation isnt rocket science. Heres an experiment to show proof: Im coming up to a city, and the sign at the entrance is a white sign reading "Выбор". Looking at the map, I find the name, and this city is 'Vybor'. Looking to the sky, the Sun is opposite the face of the sign, and knowing the Sun is mainly South, then I know that entering the city on this road means I am traveling generally North. Looking at the map of Vybor, there are 2 main roads that run through the city - North/South and East/West that intersect in a T-Junction (3-way stop). Getting to that intersection, I find a Blue sign that shows "Лопатино" (Lopatino) 2km with an arrow to the left, and "Кабанино" (Kabanino) 2km to the right. I have now confirmed my exact location and bearing on the map without the use of a compass, and know exactly which directions are which. Left will be West, and Right will be East. Knowing all this, I can determine where surrounding landmarks and points of interest as well, such as that if I go towards "Кабанино" to the East/Right, and take the first major intersection I see and make a left - it will take me directly to the NW Airfield and Military Base, which is the most sought after place that is loaded with military gear, tons of weapons and ammo and huge backpacks that will let me carry lots of items. See you in Cherno!

Is SVD present on Xbox servers?

The PSO scope attaches to both the AKM and the SVD. But be warned there is a glitch when scoped while prone and wearing a plate carrier - the shoulder strap blocks the view while using the PSO scope. Ive got a video Im gonna post soon showing it.

Can't drink water from natural sources.

You have to crouch down if youre in a river/pond/stream and look at the water. Your bacteria levels will raise up but it never seems to be a threat as even drinking full bottles filled from ponds or streams doesnt raise bacteria to yellow or red. The only place you cant drink from is the coastal ocean because its saltwater.

Hunting - Can it happen?? [RESOLVED]

I was traveling along a road yesterday and then all of a sudden I heard a huge call that I hadnt ever heard before. At first I thought it was just background immersion audio like the crickets and mosquitos and flies and stuff - I figured they hadnt implemented wildlife yet the same as vehicles and stuff. But I turn around and sure enough I look out in the woods where the sound kept coming from and there was a pack of moose/elk/caribou and I was just like H O L Y S H I T and kinda just stood there watching for a while. It was really cool. I didnt have any ammo for my rifle so I just said bye to them and went on my way ?
