Plant fiber?)” Well obviously the rope came from the Rope Factory in Solnichniy duh, that’s why the bandits want to keep control of it - Rope has been a huge export product on the black market for Chenarus and its a very powerful economic stronghold as it’s the last remaining factory with its machinery still being functional and its prime location right on the coast and the bridge makes for efficient loading and unloading of supplies and money back and forth with various clientele not only across Chernarus but worldwide. Solnichniy Factory Rope has been known to be some of the most amazing high strength industrial rope and is world renowned for its great qualities compared to other competitors. -

Man that was a long read and good too, but the only thing I’m gonna comment right now on is: ”Is Chernarus located in Texas? I know there was militia's before the outbreak but come on.” In fact, Chernarus isn’t in Texas, it’s modeled heavily after the Czech Republic, and there is a huge backstory lore to how Chernarus got the way it is today from ARMA all the way up to DayZ - and it includes: Chernarus became a Soviet Socialist Republic in 1922 after the end of the Russian revolution of 1917. After the demise of the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1991, Chernarus gained its independence. Following this, Chernarus was established as a Republic and its army -- the Chernarussian Defence Forces -- took possession of former Soviet military installations and stockpiles. In 2009, it suffered from a civil war that left the country in turmoil, forcing it to seek help from Allied Nations and U.S forces. - A Communist-Socialist faction committed war crimes and attempted cover-ups - Russia gets involved thinking it was a nationalist guerrila faction and sends troops into Chenarus - Russia supplies EXCESSIVE amounts of weapons to the Communist-Socialist faction who are actually against the government of Chenarus, which causes the civil war in Chernarus - US and UN troops are sent to the southern coastal cities like Cherno to stop conflict and liberate the large cities - A rogue government official in the Russian government sent money and support to the ChDKZ to deface and frame NAPA as the sole perpetrator of the terrorist attack in Russia, and sought to bring a war between Russia and Chernarus. - Late 2012/Early 2013 the Outbreak happens, and the military of the US, UN, and Russia are overrun. The military tried to contain the outbreak and organised the systematic disposal of corpses (as can be seen at Kamensk Military Base). - After the outbreak, the local military and civilian defenses were overwhelmed and disintegrated. All inhabitants either fled the country, were turned into Infected, or roam the desolated area as Survivors. The lawlessness led to a rise in banditry an overall lack of equipment and available food. Most of this and more timeline can be found at the DayZ Wiki I also like to think of a tiny little piece of backstory for when you “spawn” on the coast, is that like the introduction video - you actually awaken from being incapacitated for some reason, you’ve drifted upon the shore or whatever, and the reason that you start out with a stone knife, a can of soda, a flare, and bandages is that there is some sort of guardian angel or group of good guys geared to the teeth, fighting the bandits, roaming the shore. They patrol the beaches back and forth constantly, looking for the bambi’s who are not yet awakened to find what they’ve gotten themselves into and give them a starting gift to help them on their new journey of survival. Just a tiny bit to make sure that their first few moments are not all for naught. Their identities are unknown, and they have never been seen or found, but in their honor, some survivors do everything they can to emulate the unknown heroes and try to make Chenarus a better place, paying it forward to the new bambi’s that they encounter. Solnichniy has become a war zone and overrun by bandits who vow to keep the civil war going until the entire land of Chenarus is back to its Communist Socialist Soviet Era past. It is known far and wide to stay away from Solnichniy and is akin to The Dark Zone, and that only one day, when the heroes can form another Army of themselves will it be possible to Overtake the last stand of the Solnichniy factory with masses of geared soldiers always constantly standing guard to make sure the bandits don’t retain their foothold on their town. So actually, no Chernarus isn’t in Texas, and there definitely wasn’t “just some militias before the outbreak” - you literally had almost 4 complete national armies in the country all at once and more weapons and artillery than you could count being supplied and stockpiled. ;) -
“it wouldnt let you in to the game without exiting you party.” I seriously was thinking about this exact same thing - the game needs to have the ability to force players out of party chat and not be able to allow players to join servers (it would be sweet if parties/party chat could somehow be totally disabled even while in game after connected to a server), you could do parties/PC while in the server lobby so you could say “okay we’re gonna go to server XXXX” but once you’re connected the party gets disabled. Also, directional, distance based VOIP would be amazing - the further players are away the quieter they would be even talking at full volume, and somehow make it so if people are inside buildings/on other sides of walls or doors/different floors a muffled filter would be applied so it would be like you could hear voices but not understand what they’re saying - this would make whispering a viable tool. Id like to also see the VOIP toggle locked to ON all the time so that if you wanted to remain quiet you’d actually have to be quiet in real life, and any sounds you actually make would actually be heard in game - just another way of immersion. Even things like breathing too loud would get you found.

“ Are they still clearing characters/servers on a frequent basis? Any large updates regarding new types of equipment, weapons, etc.?” Last update did not have a character wipe. Supposedly servers are still resetting/wiping as people seem to constantly gripe about their bases/stashes disappearing - persistence is still iffy. Mags have been fixed, gun unjamming is now included, a night-vision scope has been introduced for the AK rifle, there are tents now but i’m not sure how good they are. Horticulture is added (growing food in soil from seeds). The inventory is mostly completely fixed besides a bug of not being able to micromanage using LT to move up in the inventory but RT works fine (its just a pain to have to move all the way down the list and cycle back thru if you want to move something up to your storage at the top) Cant think of anything else really if I’m missing something. Still FPS drops in big cities, or when you’re scavenging large inventories off dead players..but so far they’re doing pretty good with the game I’d say. Can’t wait for the next update! -
1. Surrender animation (maybe others too) makes item/weapon in hand disappear and is lost forever. (All emotes/animations should keep whatever is in your hands still visible - some already do this, some make the item disappear but it comes back once the animation is complete, and some make you lose the item) 2. Sprinting down ladders does not work (Slide animation) 3. Maybe find a way to implement custom mapping of all controls? There’s lots of request for the RS freelook change. Possibly some things will have to be used by a “modifier” (LB+X, RB+Y, etc) 4. Inventory micromanagement seems to work fine when using RT to jump down between storage items but if you try to use LT to go up the list it doesnt work properly and switches different items into different places than the item selected. 5. Clothing (Headwear/Masks) still needs refinement in clipping issues where hair and beards can be seen through clothing. 6. Possibility in the future to implement a distance-based, directional volume level for VOIP - just like gunshots and other sounds, you should be able to hear which direction the voice is coming from, and the farther away someone is while talking in game the quieter they are, the closer you get the louder they sound. This would make whispering a tactical advantage when knowing other players are around. Also some type of maybe muffled/filter so if players are talking in buildings, or on different floors or through walls it would be able to hear someone, but be hard to distinguish what they are actually saying, you’d have to go to open windows or open doors to hear fully. This would be very immersive.

this game does not need to go the way of arcade shooters. there are no killcams, no K/D, no leaderboards, no rankings, no stats. It is a.. h a r d c o r e s u r v i v a l s i m u l a t o r you don’t get any help.

yes, you can do lots of medical things - epi-pens, morphine pens can bring people back from unconsciousness and slow blood loss, you can use blood test kits to find out what blood type you and others are for compatibility just like in real life so you can do full blood transfusions with IV kits and save people with saline bags to help regenerate blood quickly if there has been trauma from gunshots or other wounds. (if you were to give a player a blood transfusion with a non-compatible blood type it actually kills them). I don’t believe xbox has broken bones in the game yet but on PC you can also craft splints to help heal bones after taking damage from falling if your leg is broken which makes it so you can’t run anymore.

Three big items for future updates to be worked on: 1. Crosshairs alignment still is not 100%. The point of center aim is different for all weapons to some different degree based on whether you are in third person LT soft-aim “over the shoulder”, first person soft aim, or Aim Down Sights RB “iron sights” - aim at a single point and switch between the three views without moving and you will end up aimed at three different spots depending on which view you’re in. 2. Sprint when going down ladders and the sliding animation is currently glitched and does not work. 3. Zoom with RB while sprinting triggers a haymaker heavy punch swing - a current workaround for this is to hold RB zoom first and then sprint and it works fine back and forth, but in a dire emergency situation this glitch can cause precious seconds of wasted time when trying to escape danger and it especially annoying when traveling and trying to recon distant areas.

Are there any cars to fix ??

There is a car on US 4404 I believe between Zaprudnoe and Ratnoe right off the main road - it was bare bones just a battery when I found it and spent almost a week traveling back and forth finding all the parts... Had the radiator, spark plug, found a jerry can and put half a tank of gas in, filled the radiator with water, and stocked the trunk with a full can of gas and water, 2 headlights that wouldn’t work when trying to micromanage them into the slots, and some extra odds and ends - all it was missing was 4 tires...finally managed to grab one from the barracks/garages across the street.. Came back this week from the police station in Zaprudnoe and low and behold, the car was still sitting in the same driveway!! However.....the entire engine compartment was empty - battery, spark plugs, radiator, the one tire, and the full can of gasoline were all GONE. I was devastated. I gave up and went to NWAF. Now i’m somewhere near Topolinki and the Tisy MilBase, fully decked out. Good luck! -
The first time I heard the rooster was incidentally after a gun shot, and I thought it was a way of alerting players nearby of other players in the vicinity, or possibly an audio cue of new players spawning in..but after a while it seems it’s just a sound effect. meh.

it would definitely be nice to have chat be directional/distance based. People farther away from you the quieter they would be like they could be screaming but it would still be quiet and the closer you’d get the louder they’d become. That way you wouldn’t just hear people and know that they’re *somewhere* close by, but you’d actually know which direction the same as footsteps or gunshots are heard. You’d be able to hear people talking in the house next to you but it wouldn’t be as loud or maybe muffled like you’d hear real voices thru walls or doors and know which direction or if their on a higher or lower floor. maybe one day..

I had this exact thing happen yesterday! I was traveling North from Elektro to the little military tent checkpoint after Topolka Dam, running up thru the woods on the left side to make sure and scope out the tents before I approached - and there was a full ADA 4x4 sitting there with no one around and all it needed was a spark plug! Luckily I hadn’t gotten rid of mine. First time I had ever seen or found a car! So I got in and started her up, tried to drive it up to the road and finally got it going for a bit and was going to head to Oreshka Pass but it overheated and the red engine light had come on and I had no idea what to do. Quick google search said to refill the radiator with water, luckily I had about 5 bottles and a canteen but it wasn’t enough so I had to go back and forth to the small stream behind the checkpoint and after a few times the car totally had disappeared but the heavy plume of smoke from the engine was still there just going in midair it was really wierd. Oh well...

RPS = Rock, Paper, Scissors The character holds out his fist, pressing RT will make an animation with a count of 3 motion with the fist and then will (i believe its random) either make rock, paper, or scissors. Could be useful fun to use with buddies to determine who will have to enter areas first or go check things out - definitely in conjunction with all the new “Comms” tactical hand signals

? smh all you have to do is go to Sorting > Slots - Ascending as that will put the most populated servers at the top of the list and it will go from most to least, then just navigate down to a server near the bottom and it will be guaranteed empty. Even before this glitch when you could see the player count, only a FEW servers would have high pops, most had a couple stragglers maybe 7 or 8 players in them, and then the rest would all be empty out of the 80/90 servers. Try again.

i’ve noticed that with my AKM the reload button functioned as the quick change (i had to manually reload the rifle every time, pressing Y would cycle thru all items in my quickslots) but with my pistols the reload button would function correctly all the time but i couldn’t do quick swaps

Compass is “glitched” - Just found out that when equipped in hands it will point in the correct direction, but if left open and viewed in the hot bar/quickslot or inventory it moves 90° to the right. Ex: Compass when held in hands points South, when using quickslot and changing to another item, Compass points East when looking at Quickslot. Changing back to Compass in hands it points South again when equipped.

Can we please use Click RS 1x to switch shoulders, because now Double Click RS 2x is change view from Third Person to FPS, and change the Free Look from Clicking and Holding RS to Hold LB since it has no use, and make Scope view a either single click LB to go between scope and iron sights alternating or Hold LB to use scope and release to go back to ADS

Drop consumable items that can be found again over and over - mainly food and drinks - rags can always be made from found clothing in the wild and is abundant Think about what you really really want to hold on to - mainly weapons and ammo, a single canteen or water bottle, and thats really pretty much all you need. Once you get a decent rifle you dont really need a sledgehammer or shover or axe any more, drop them in favor of just carrying a pistol, knife/hatchet, and a primary. The weight of your clothing, and your gear is what makes your stamina bar only a small bit available - take off your entire backpack and youll see your stamina bar instantly go back to about 80% Most people try to overload themselves and carry as much crap as they possibly can when its much better to just carry what you only really absolutely need.

Its your tv make sure your aspect ratio is set to 16:9 in your settings instead of zoom, cinema, wide, stretch, etc.

Make sure your mic is set to open by either holding down on the dpad or double tapping it to toggle. A mic icon should be visible near the bottom left of the screen

Put the box of ammo in your hands - you should get a prompt in the lower left hand corner to "hold RT to unbox" which will give you a pile of loose bullets in your hand when complete and a piece of paper on the ground in vicinity.

I think Ive found the solution to glitched mags - it might not work 100% but it did just work for me. I had a 4-Five pistol in my bag with no magazine, and I finally found a single mag for it. When I picked up the magazine, it automatically put it into the pistol. When I put the pistol in my hands, it was "glitched" with the "0(+14)" ammo count and I couldnt reload it, or get the mag out and shooting it just dry fired. So I tried this. 1. Take the gun and drop it to the ground. (Hold Y) 2. From the vicinity, go to the magazine and hold A to put the magazine in your hands 3. Take the empty pistol and send to your inventory. 4. Drop the magazine to the ground (hold Y) 5. Put the empty pistol in hands. 6. Go to vicinity and tap B to combine. I *think* this might be a workaround to glitched mags, and I think that maybe whats causing the problem is that either when you have a gun in your inventory and pick up your first mag its auto-adding it to the weapon causing the glitch or its doing it because you dont have enough inventory space to fit both items in seperately. Im not 100% on this but its worth a try! Let me know if it solves the problem or not!
