This is a major problem..but i know why. Group/party chat. If you'r not in a groupchat with friends it is impossible to find each other. First both of you need a radio, then you need to be on the same frequency in order to talk. Why even bother with in-game chat then? Proximity chat asking strangers if they seen your friends? The dev's took it too far. If this was a solo/pve game only, then it would work right out of the box. No worries about running through 12 buildings only to find a hardhat and a woll jacket. No worries finding backpacks and supplies. You would find plenty because no one else is taking it. But it's online only and pvp/pve all the time. It's too much. I truly hope they listen to us and in some way add optional servers. And i'll take vehicles any day, no matter how buggy they would be. The oroblem is that you probably have to "build" half the car before you could drive it...only to have someone steal it the moment you turn the key.

Change the FOV to 75% and you will have a more realistic view in first person with no problems looking at the compass
-
Haha that is too much. You need to use the bush stick, not the tree stick....jeez dev's, ease up a little.

I'm impressed you can read it, i'm sitting 6 feet from my 65" and all i see are a few white lines in that pop-up window.

@DogeMillionare please have a look in my "is this fun?" thread. We seem to think the same about this.

Maybe so. But i'm not alone thinking this way. Think about it, there are so much to do in this world but you need to focus on eating/drinking every 15-20 minutes. How will it be once they add more features like building, repairing cars? Imagine chopping down trees, getting wood to your base..but you need to drink and eat every 3 minutes because manual labour takes it tolls. Or trying to carry a tire or a 20lb car battery for several miles. You would need 3 people walking behind you with nothing but food and water for you to make it. It's tedious and over exaggerated... strange that you don't see this. Maybe it will be more relevant to you once they add even more features. Why can't we get more freedom to explore, learn how to set up fires, what to eat and not to eat, how to hunt, what ammo goes with what weapon, how to cook, start fires, combine stuff, gather supplies, hike for long distances, see where our friends are, learn the world with an in-game map and so on.. You can do all that now you say...but you can't. You got limited space in the rugsack, chop down some firewood, kill a chicken, carry a hatchet, some matches and a weapon and you ARE FULL....you need stuff to make/find/craft stuff..but in order to do this you have to find the biggest backpack in the game..in order to find it you need to travel faaar, in order to travel far you need waterbottles, food and a weapon, then your backpack is full and your stamina is lower by 30% and you get more thirsty and hungry because you carry more. Catch-22 is very usefull here....no? All i'm asking for (and others aswell) is to ease up on the thirst/hunger issue. I don't feel like playing the game because of this one annoying issue. Why? Because i see an awesome game world out there but it holds me back from enjoying because i need to find food, eat food, find water, drink water, find bigger backpack to have room for more water, more food so that i can eat and drink after 15 minutes. As i stated before..i love a challenge and i love hardcore games. But this is not a challenge...this is just forcing a tedious and boring UN-realistic "feature". Here is a comparison: In real life you need to put in every bullet in a magazine before you can put it in your weapon and shoot. Now take this realistic feature and put it in any shooter out there. It's doable...would it be fun? Would the majority like to sit behind cover and put each bullet in a magazine before they can put it in and continue? I doubt many would like it....but it's realistic. Not everything needs to be realistic in a realistic videogame. DayZ don't have peeing and pooping...why? If you eat and drink....it needs to come out. Why leave it out when hunger and thirst have such a big impact on your character? I tell you why...because not many would think its a good game mechanic to have to look for leafs or carry a paperroll and find a bush every 20 minutes. I will never back diwn on this heavy emphasism on eating and drinking. In my world it ruins otherwise a wonderful VIDEOGAME.

Don't mind him...there are people out there who get angry when someone speak badly about a game they love. It's just the way it is with kids. Anyway, why are there no way to see what server you are playing on? Could easily be implemented in the "online" button where you see all connected players. I would like to reconnect after the server is reset and just once be able to find "all this loot" people are talking about. Sick of woll jackets, boonie hats, track suits, plaid shirts and axes..... Strange that every house/building have max 1 item in them..so in a village with 10 houses you can gather 10 items and 4 of them will be clothes... Well thought out dev's...

100% agree. Been out camping a lot in my days and i sure as hell wasen't in need of water every 15 minutes. I have 2 friends who bought this (both of them love hardcore games) but they refuse to "play" this game since they have to drink all the time. I'm stuck here "playing" it myself.. Will not recomend this to anyone base alone on the eating/drinking simulator.

Glad to finally hear someone else thinking the same. It's ruining the entire concept of surviving.
-
All servers marked NL (neatherlands) are based in EU.
-
Same here, tried everything from empty to almost full.
-
I agree 100%. If they aim for realism we should only be forced to eat and drink ONCE every 24 hours. This 15 minute forcing eat/drink are the worst idea ever in a game where there are so many other dangers that can kill you. I can't focus on anything else really...it puts me off and not wanting to play.
-
Exactly my point...filling water bottles with emphasis on BOTTLES. Why? Because you need a hell of a lot of water. Your M4 with scope would still be in your inventory if you only need to fill your bottle once every 24 hour. You might not get pissed at it now...but it will come a time where it gets tedious, repetitve and boring...especially when it deter from the fun gamplay. -Hey guys..lets check out that hill over there! - No..i can't lets go and look for a well for 20 minutes instead.
-
I drank at a well until 3 arrows showed on top, continued to jog for 3 (!!!!!!) minutes around town and guess what... He was thirsty with a down arrow. You all can try and justify the stupid thirst/hunger all you want. It IS flawed and a game breaker for me. And as you said..it gets much more fun once you head inlands with supplies.. You forgot to mention some vital things though: To get meat you first need to find an animal, you need a knife, you need a rugsack...on top of that you are constantly thirsty and hungry, most houses are looted, zombies is present, other players shoot/attack you and so on.. What they should have done at each new spawn is like on the test server. You spawn with a small rugsack, a pistol with a small clip, a waterbottle and 2 canned baked beans. Atleast then you got a chance and are not forced to run around looting empty houses with 15 other players. The thirst/hunger needs to go or open servers where it is removed/24 hour cycle.

Yeah...i don't doubt you. It's all about risk and reward i get that. But me and my gaming buddies are 40+ and don't really have the time to spend an hour trying to find eachother while at the same time looking for food/water. I'm all about hardcore games and the developer not holding you'r hand. But this is not hardcore, this is tedious (eating and drink and basically spend most of game time looking for water and food) and for us it's not fun. It takes away from all the other great things you can do in this game like exploring, fighting off zombies and wild animals. I don't need infinit sprint and running to a military base to gear up, head down to the coast and shoot freshly spawned players. But what i do need is an real time 24 hour cycle where you have to eat and drink ONCE during that period. That should be more realistic. Dying of thirst/hunger after 30-ish minutes of gameplay (tried 3 times in a row) are...imo a moronic decision. It's strange that not more of you fan's can see that this is flawed and ruins the experience. Once this is fixed and a in-game map is added i doubt we will play it all together. The map should NOT have anything other than town names and landmarks on it, a compass and dot's for your friends.

59 minutes and 17 seconds was the time i lasted. I found 3 soda cans and never once ran. Me - i bought this game with a huge open world. Friends - yeah...sounds cool. What is it about? Me - it's about surviving in a zombie apocalyptic world. Friends - cool, what do you have to do to survive? Me - drink and eat and be afraid of stairs and never ever run. Friends - ?? Me - And yeah...your character got astma and loves track suits. Friends - ummm..is it a free 2 play? Me - nope...it's €45 Friends - holy crap? Me - yup Friends - I'll pass..RDR2 is soon here.
-
I got the Dayz map downloaded on my phone....it helps absolutly ZERO sinceni can't get a bearing...i tried looking at the map signs...for what purpose? It's not marked with a "you are here" dot and it's all in russian. I guess this game is for the harder than hardcore players that like to drink and eat. Guess i'll stay with pubg and vigor and patiently wait for RDR2 and Hunt showdown...

Maybe they should have servers for us that like to explore this beautiful world instead of looking for water and food. The surroundings and environment are awesome. The itch to explore is there but it's let down by stupid "realistic" decisions that have a huge impact on what's fin in a video game. I could play this game all day if it wasen't for eating/drinking and stamina like a chain smoker. Too bad this is what the developers call a harsh and dangerous world.
-
Hungry and thirsty every 20 minutes. Breathing like an astmatic after running 100 meters. Can't jump over 60 centimeter fences. Running too much and you go limp. Loose stamina over time. Can't take a hit. Worthless at fighting with melee weapons. Can't navigate. Goes blind after a few strikes. Get stuck everywhere. ..........maybe, just maybe you should have made it so you pick attributes instead. Because this is silly. All that is missing now is you'r blatter getting full every 4 minutes and you need to stop to pee.
-
Ok, so be it. If everything are so realistic.... how come thirst and hunger isen't?
-
Not true..i been running around for 15 minutes trying to find a backpack. Sure my pockets were full and i carried a mosin. But no where near as fully loaded when carrying a back pack full of stuff.

Disclaimer: Not all of you will agree and these are MY opinions/feedback to the developers. 1. No in-game map? One of the biggest game worlds in the industry and no map? A bit over the top maybe? 2. A map this big and only travel by foot? Sure...if it wasen't for an included stamina?? Run 100 meters and my character is out of breath. There are talk's about vehicles...but with these brutal conditions (see 5.) they should already be in the game 3. Inventory simulator 2018? A direct port from pc inventory managment is just a lazy and moronic move. If you look at it in a realistic way..sure, dropping your pants everything in your pockets will follow. In a videogame...nah, a bit too realistic don't you think? 4. Greed. Nope... €45 for a BETA with numerous bugs and problems.. That is not saying "hey community pay a small development fee and come and help us build this game to something great". That is just greed...€20 would be stretching it...you went waaaay past that. Just greed considering the pc version that is 5 years old AND still not in gold status, is cheaper. 5. Random spawn after permadeath. How is this a good thing when playing with friends? Imagine you and 2 buddies are way up north and one of you die and respawn down by the coast. No map, no radio, no townname or anything to let your friends get a bearing on your location. If you do manage to find a way to meet up...it's a 45 minute jog to get there. Fun?....i think not. I think it's great that one of the best survivor games have finally arrived on console. All of us here can agree on that. And this game should be all about surviving, fear and helplesness... But it should also be FUN. It is still a GAME. With this price, all these bugs, moronic inventory, no vehicles, no in-game map, random spawns AND the fact that this game is very niched towards a small group of players...will most likely mean empty servers and a small hardcore fanbase. But even those can give up. I tried the 1 hour GP, played some more at a friends house....and based on my feedback above i will NOT shell out this amount of money for a beta. Finish the game and have full price..i got no problems to support you then. Now in this state and with your track record on the pc version? Not a chance. Wish the team and everyone that bought it good luck and (hopefully) a lot of fun in Chernarus. PS. games should first and foremost be FUN. If it's fun..most of us can take bugs and crashes with a smile and still continue to play.

So...as much realism as possible? How come i died of hunger after playing for 30 minutes? My character were thirsty after 5 minutes of gameplay. You can go days without food as long as you got water. In this game days seems to be minutes. Fix it...survival should not be about eating and drinking every 30 minutes. A bit redicolous no?
