    Wolves

Their behaviour is also much more detailed than you think at first glance. If you manage to spot one that has not detected prey yet you can observe their calm prowling or idle resting behaviour, they'll actually lie down, lick their paws etc. If they spot a dead infected, animal or player (or if they hunt and kill one) they'll stop and eat from it. If you face them with a melee weapon in hands they will not blindly rush straight at you, but back away growling and barking so their mates can flanks you. I love this attention to detail on small things that few players ever get to see or even care about. It's what sets DayZ apart from most other games.
  2. Nope. It's either drop it to the ground with G or put it on hotbar so you can unequip it. Equipping something else with hotbar will of course also send it into the inventory too, providing you have room for it or it can go into the slot from which the other item comes.

    Wolves

That is pretty much the way it goes. If you are interested, look up studies on the wildlife in the "dead zone" surrounding the Chernobyl nuclear disaster plant. Wild animals have moved in and taken over the ruins.

Bring back the old sky, it looked great.

Oh how I miss those skies...

Zombies with no loot on private server?

You probably added an item to zombie loot that will not fit in their inventory, remove any items larger than a hatchet (4*2) and see if that helps. You might also simply have left a typo somewhere in the randompresets.xml, try an online xml validator to see if there is anything wrong with the formatting.
  6. You need to locate the spawn points for zombies in Cherno and delete or comment them out from zombie_territories. No way around it, so use iZurvive and enter the coordinates in the list and you'll see where each spawn is located. Will take time, there's a lot of lines. It's a good idea to comment in each location as you go for later reference.

    Face Masks Useless?

Nah they never get long, don't think that is practical due to clipping etc. Same reason no characters have long hair. Boring, but it is what it is.

    Face Masks Useless?

Well the beards have been in for a couple of years by now, they looked pretty dodgy for a while when they got long but that was fixed a long time ago.

    Only female zombies in cities

This bug is fixed in the latest 1.09 Experimental bug, thank you!

    Only female zombies in cities

Since 1.05 I have noticed that in towns where zombies of the InfectedCity type are triggered I'm only getting female zombies. A lot of them. I suppose they ate the male ones, but I'm curious what could cause this. In events.xml female models are listed before males due to spelling (ZmbF comes before ZmbM) so I suppose that has something to do with it. The list of city infected models is the longest, so maybe whatever script randomises what zed to spawn only uses the first 20 or so lines in the event, thus pushing the male city zombies off the list? But, is this only on my server? Anyone else seen this happen? If it is only me I wonder what I messed up, I haven't changed anything regarding zombies in events.xml. Does anyone know a way around this issue?

    Zombies climbing player made walls...?

I'd be okay with them hopping over the walls if at least fitting barbed wire could stop them. But I guess it is better than wolves, bears etc who just run straight through the walls...

    Just a thought

Yeah, download the server files and setup a LAN server on the same computer you play on. It is "offline" without being offline, completely lag free - and when you've gotten more familiar with it you can start messing with the server files and install mods if you want. Setting up the server is actually really simple, check youtube and/or make a forum search here to find the exact steps. Edit: here's a simple vid: And here's a web page with the same info. Note that you don't need to open ports unless you want other players to have access to the server or, if you want to play with a small group of friends for example, you can open the ports and have a password to avoid randoms to enter the server.

    Will there be AI survivors

No mod can ever "ruin" the game, since all you need to do is avoid servers running that particular mod. Devs have been pretty clear that no AI survivors are or have ever been planned for the game. Personally I'd be very careful about using them, both for performance reasons and because I agree with drgullen that missions simply go against the non-scripted sandbox nature of DayZ. Any AI survivors should just be roaming at random to simply have a few AI enemies that shoot guns as Parazight says. This so you can't farm them by going certain places and so on. They should need to loot or have truly randomised inventories based on the loot economy on the server. The mod will also be a godsend for players who, for whatever reason, prefer playing "single player" on a LAN server.

    DayZ in 2020

That is a classic case of shitty server performance, cars do not behave like that on healthy servers. The server either has too many mods, too many players, shitty hardware or a combination of all three. Once server FPS gets too low, cars will start behaving like you describe. That said, the way a lag spike can cause a car to change direction - without you even touching the keyboard - is something that really needs to be looked at. Vehicles are also way too sensitive to fluctuations in the net, even if the driver himself has good internet, just one nearby player on crappy connection can trigger desync that will cause harry potter events even on a stable server.

    CLE not working

This is probably the issue. When a server is empty the economy hibernates. I'm not sure I like this feature, I prefer when the server ticks along not giving a fudge if there's players on it or not...

Civil Apocalypse / No military mode

There are some hardcore survival servers with reduced military loot, such as RUN* or my own, but if there is one with NO military loot I don't know. But I like the idea, once more of the civ weapons and the improvised bow are back I will reduce mil gear even more on my server. *) RUN is truly hardcore survival, focus is on the battle against hunger and the environment. There is a little military loot, but if you find an AK for example it will almost certainly be badly damaged and missing all attachments. Assembling a working assault rifle takes time - and there are more dangers than zombies (and the odd starved survivor) stalking the military zones...

    Help Repairing A UAZ

You’ve blown the engine, the car is ruined and will disappear when you leave it so don’t leave anything valuable behind. (UAZ is a modded car btw, but blowing the engine works the same on all vehicles.) Use the gears, that’s what they are for...
  19. Actually I think the DayZ team (by all accounts a tiny crew at this point) are working on DayZ features while the larger Enfusion crew are working on what might be the embryo of Arma4. I mean if this as yet unannounced full Enfusion title is not Arma4 I'd be very surprised, but since nothing is announced yet you never know. Anyway the crafted leather items are already in the game files but since you still can't tan pelts into leather they can't be crafted, unless you use a mod to add a way to tan leather and unlock the crafting. Also the bow & arrow is on its way, I'm fairly sure it'll be in before the end of the year. They're nibbling away on the backlog, slowly but surely. As far as I know the only thing from old plans that is (more or less) officially scrapped is flying vehicles - which would be more than relevant for Arma4. I also doubt we will ever see ragdoll physics in DayZ, unless it can be inherited from whatever the Enfusion team are working on. (This is sad, one of the most distracting bugs the game has is bodies falling halfway into walls or hovering in thin air because part of the corpse happens to touch a tiny ledge, rail or windowsill. Imho this should be a priority to fix, not accepted as unavoidable. It looks cheap and unprofessional.) Also interesting that many of the old suggestions in this thread have been implemented or are available in mods. Sadly not a lot of patches/reinforcements for clothes yet, I'd like it if clothes would actually look patched and worn when you repair them, instead of reverting to pristine textures. There's kneepad jeans in some mod, and a few ponchos, hoods etc, but sadly modded gear is dominated by military stuff which is really not needed.

    Graceful shutdown of server

Thank you, but this topic was about my private server and graceful shutdown of the DayZ server application process, not the computer itself. Anyway the taskkill command does seem to work correctly, I have not had the problem in a long time. The only times there are bad shutdowns are when the server machine has a hard shutdown as you say, and this is not something that normally happens, basically only when a storm knocks out the power grid...

    Graceful shutdown of server

Hello @ImpulZ, since I want my server to always restart at the same time, I have chosen not to use the messages countdown but the Taskkill command as detailed above. However, it seems to me that the termination of the server is not done "gracefully" as described, it shuts down instantly making the restart go through the process of restoring corrupted persistence from the backup. Usually without problems but now that the server is getting a few more regular players we've had one or two examples of parts of bases, tents or cars disappearing after a restart. Have I set it up erroneously or does it simply no longer work to terminate the server safely this way? If using messages countdown is now the only way to shutdown a server safely, is there any way to make the shutdown/restart by messages happen at the same time regardless of unscheduled restarts (i.e. after crashes)? Also, if Taskkill is not safe and I want to make an unscheduled restart, how do I manually shut down the server safely? Usually nothing bad happens when simply killing the process, but not getting the "termination successfully completed" line makes me very nervous every time..

    Deletion of the A/C carrier

The aircraft carrier is a prop in Expansion not meant to be spawned in. Later on I suspect they plan to use it for dynamic events and missions. If you have successfully installed Expansion you will also have COM (the admin tool your rogue admin used to spawn the carriers in) with which you can delete any item. Use the Object Spawner menu and the Delete command. If that doesn't work you should seek more help on the Expansion discord, they are the experts on anything related to their mod.

    No bears in Cherno

Nope, that's an assumption, not a fact. You just haven't found one. They are much more rare in Cherno, but they are out there. Along the wooded areas in the north and west is the biggest chance (risk) of running into them.

  25. Traders remove that basic premise that DayZ is built upon - to search for stuff that you need until you find it, either by scavenging the ruins or by looting or trading with other players that you meet. With AI traders you can basically just run a loop around whatever town you spawn nearest, sell all the crap you pick up and then be geared. I hate that stuff, it automatically breaks the economy on a server and ruins any semblance of balance the game might have. The "if you don't like them don't use them" mantra is false, because if there are traders you'll be at an enormous disadvantage if you don't use them. But to each their own, lots of players like that stuff and the beauty of mod support and public server files is they can have traders on their servers while vanilla and hardcore modded servers don't. Win win. The difference between spawned and bought vehicles you talk about is down to server configuration, if the server owner doesn't configure the files properly spawned (or bought for that matter) vehicles will despawn or spawn where they aren't stable etc.
