Hello :) First of all, big thanks for Devs for finally unleashing one bit of entertainment by releasing server files ! I mostly played in DM servers past two days, I really wanted to have good PVP in DayZ for a long time, previously it was too hard to get high gear and then actually get into proper PVP, fail multiple times and learn things. Now it is a great thing for practice gunfights, or quick game if you don't have time to press W for two hours. And it is really entertaining. I am sure many more entertaining server cofigs will be discovered with different PVP/survival balances for each ones needs. So there are three main DM quick PVP servers now. -Chernogorsk 100 players server. No zombies, no loot, bodies despawn quickly, spawning with high end loot. The performance is good, with minor issues, in rare occasions game is crashing, but very playable anyway. Usually the server is never full, but you can say that it is nearly full, as it starts performing slightly worse. -Stary Sobor 35 players server. No zombies, no loot, can loot bodies, spawning with high end gear. Didn't have any issues. Have played in nearly full server when there were more than 35players allowed and it was madness. -Airfield/Prison Island 40players server. Some zombies, some loot, spawning with high/mid end gear. Perhaps best DM server but always full. I would really love to get in it when it runs Prison Island though it might be packed. DayZ seems to cope well with 40 players in area like NW Airfield. From there it would be cool to have many different presets, like spawning with low end gear and having a possibility to loot for better loot. Or having limited amount of ammo, so you would look after each bullet. Spreading Deathmatch in wider area, blending in more survival and less deathmatch madness and so on as game will get more entertaining as a survival mode in near future, or even with some good mature mods... possibilities are huge. I really like new game controls system, easy to learn and get used to, makes sense, and flows nicely. DayZ map has always been nice, but in many places it is next level now. Forests are 10/10 so many features in there. Again renewed Chernogorsk blew my mind when I ran through there for first time. I think it is a bit extreme lol Gunfights sounds are incredible, probably couldn't be better. Would be nice to hear steps better when someone is running close, running through woods where there are no track should be rather noisy as all kinds of stuff sticks under feet breaks, just a thought. Really looking forward for what is going improve with animation bones optimisations, also with vehicles and basebuildings.

Playing in deathmatch servers impressions
Mantasisg replied to Mantasisg's topic in General Discussion
Thanks to Deathmatches I'm getting so much better in gunfights, almost everything is very fluid, and works really well. Original DayZ SA is bad to play in combats when you have no skills, because slow pace of the game you just hardly learn, then you are also not supposed to kill on sight in most cases, so then naturally getting involved into pvp one time in 2-3-4 hours... And people wondered why KOS issue is so bad, like it was not obvious lol With faster pace learning curve gets much steeper, you will not have to attack each and everyone to maintain aiming skills lol Also Chernarus becomes so much more epic when you add life and events to it, it was pretty much like you didn't see full beauty of it when there is nothing to do, but now it works. -
Yes the process was not exactly optimal for EA. It is like Development of DayZ 1.0 was cut, and they went straight for 2.0. Quite frustrating indeed, especially when from a gamers perspective the game was basically stalled. But now server files has been released, and plenty more bits of entertaining stuff are about to come, so I think it is almost the time when the frustration will go away, at least a lot of.

Playing in deathmatch servers impressions

I wouldn't say that BR is played out, there are things which will always be fun. Agree about strategic kind of game. I would like to participate in server where players would be blue vs green vs red type of thing. -
What will the next stress tests bring?
Mantasisg replied to Targaryen42's topic in General Discussion
The last DayZ Devs Status Report mentions Vehicles, as well as bse bldng, and I am very curious about bones optimisation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e66T_qKusMc -
Playing in deathmatch servers impressions

Yeah I am special guy here... What do you expect from a man ? Positive thoughts, positive posts. I have decided to make a positive post, because the rest of you didn't make it. What kind of community has no reactions over negative things, as well as no reactions over positive things, zombies :D I also don't see anything about battleroyale mod which has already got massive exposure. -
Weird shxt you've encountered whilst playing.
Mantasisg replied to droefheid's topic in General Discussion
I had lots of fun in DayZ and so much more was on the horizon, then some update broke the good gameplay and the horizon never came closer. That one was weirdest that happened while playing DayZ. -
On which branch will server files be sharded?
Mantasisg replied to haydaman712's topic in General Discussion
This thread could actually be named "When 0.63 will hit stable ?" -
Word ! Exact stuff. As for SCUM lets give it at least half a year. But now it is definitely way too much running around a large empty map, exactly like DayZ. Maybe they decided respectfully not be better than DayZ too much. Or they copy :/ The game has potential early to judge. DayZ however has VERY seriously stretched its EA. I am a fan of racing simulators, Assetto Corsa Competizione was just released into EA, games like that brings EA trust back to me. It is EA, there are issues, but it is very worth spending time on, as opposing to running around and doing nothing, you'd better actually be running around and keeping your fitness in real life lol So yeah..

I'm tired of pointing out things which IMO were essentially resulting in epicness of DayZ in the early. I started with 0.54. Not even the mod, and so many people say that it was even better before. Now SCUM came out, I was hoping for it to make some pressure for DayZ, by doing it better, I mean way better, something like DayZ USED to be. But unfortunately it is also running/looting simulator with desync and hug,e soulless, uneventful world, just like DayZ is. But DayZ is like that many many years into development... Perhaps the genre is just doomed... one guy knew how it should be, but then he quit and it all collapsed. Don't expect creative people to be running from house to house for hours.
-
It always can get worse, and seems like it will. Perhaps working on engines and tech. was the only real interest of Bohemia when we talk about DayZ. I don't care about development taking 5-10 years, but man, you have a game out in early access, with a lot of people interested, at least do it so it would be increasingly entertaining, not the opposite. SCUM just has been launched, it is already equal if not better than DayZ, so much of it is very well designed.. Too bad it is also not too entertaining with running and looting all the time, even though it has some additional features to escape boredom, like events.. Perhaps thats some kind of tribute for DayZ for first build ?
-
Same here, I don't care about versions, and things left to implement. But the game just simply has to be entertaining. Sometimes I think that any game with online features, especially where fun is mostly based on player interactions in some form, racing in a simulator, or just talking with someone in Elektro before getting attacked by bandits... all those games are majorly tied to community. Which you can't buy, can't implement, so I think you should really love it, unless you feel like it is time to let the bird go... you know. Of course not saying that everything is up to community, loot being ultra rare, and interactions being too rare and less special certainly made DayZ a ton less appealing, just as designed almost.

What are the odds that there won't be 0.63 stable ? I mean it is going to be 1.0, this christmas. Ideally it would be halloween
-
So it is something special, very sudden, really surprised. Would DayZ work with it ? Most importantly real time ray tracing ? R E A L T I M E R A Y T R A C I N G , Y O ! Would it make underground structures possible in this gaim ?
-
I understand that it has to be implemented, and I have no idea about challenges of it :D But I wonder if it is very complicated, if it requires a major rewriting, or it for example could be relatively easily implemented to any existing engine/game.
-
Yes I have some tips for that, emu - it is called logic. Think of it like engine stalling as the revs are dropping too low, you can turn it on again possibly, but you know.... The love is slowly fading away... Naturally it will take more and more to hook it again. Perhaps a bit more kids, who doesn't care about their lives, and are up to run for three hours straight in a computer game will emerge, but most of them will be actually looking for something entirely new. Will DayZ come out as entirely new title somehow ? Will it have the soul which the Rocket managed to create, and which is why this whole thing got important ? Doesn't seem so to me. It is unacceptable if the GAME is not designed to be fun at any moment, even if it is in alpha during early access, thats why so many people are negative. Devs have achieved so much great stuff, but they also have managed to get rid of so much other great stuff. And thats why many people are actually playing games - to have fun. I know from the past that DayZ can be plenty of fun. But if you don't want people playing your game, you don't have them. Will you get them back ? Maybe so, maybe no.

That point was passed something like a year ago.

Who Plays What More? Experimental or stable?
Mantasisg replied to G3t0nMyLvll's topic in General Discussion
I don't play any. 0.63 is just a little bit stuck for too long (for my preference) -
Why do people keep complaining about lack of action in DayZ?
Mantasisg replied to zigglr's topic in General Discussion
I played DayZ 0.54-0.57. I know that even heavily bugged, much worse performing game can be better just because of some simple things. -
Thats a kool feature :)
-
From my point of view SA was released as rather interesting, but bugged and poorly performing game to early public access stage. Later they shut the game down after making it perform nicely with 0.6, ironically gameplay has become uninteresting then. And everything what would make the game or would have made it exciting was held down, and still is. SO to my point of view SA was released to EA, then SA was shut down (by just killing the gameplay) and kept like that till now. So it is a zombie game, which itself IS A ZOMBIE, DayZ as game is a zombie. And people who plays are everyday are survivors in a weird way indeed. SCUM will come out, DayZ population will probably drop down bellow 1k then. But only stupid bikes and bicycles could help to bring lots of players to check DayZ again. And that card is being held. And there are many other cards, if they are not actually lost. Speaking of strong cards, and population - where are 60+ servers ?
-
It is reasonable to start being "where is it" after so much time and hope.... SCUM will give a run for the money, and I believe that is what is causing the wait at this very moment. I only regret not ever experiencing the dayz mod at its time, the time when the love was found. And it has been lost now, quite obviously.
-
Where are 60+ servers ?
-
If game seems boring, don't play it, and you will avoid the negative things like boredom and wasted time. Then hope for things to change, and thats it, noting else to do with DayZ, just hope for it to get better.
-
Were there any x>60 players tests ?
